The material for this work was collected in Karakalpakstan in 2018–2022. A total of 258 predatory mammals were examined. The nematode was recorded only in the jackal. The nematode Dioctophyme renale is a common helminth parasitising the jackal in Karakalpakstan. The studies showed that 24 out of 91 examined jackals (26.4%) were infected with nematodes. The intensity of infection was 11 individuals. Dioctophyme renale is a biohelminth, whose first intermediate host is the worm Lumbriculus variegatus from the subclass Oligochaeta, and the reservoir host is the catfish.

Hosts (n=152) were represented by 17 species from eight genera belonging to three different ecological tribes: Anatini, Aythyini, and Mergini. Parasitic nematodes (n=14,396) were found in the digestive tract of 813 out of 1,052 birds (77.3%), with the vast majority of nematodes (93.9%) found in the gizzard (n=7,326) and proventriculus (n=6,198). Fish-borne parasites encompass diverse taxonomic groups, including nematodes of the genus Eustrongylides (family Dioctophymatidae), which infect fish, fish-eating birds, and, occasionally, humans. Eustrongylides spp. are globally distributed, with E. ignotus and E. tubifex prevalent in North America, while E. excisus is more frequent in Europe and the Middle East. Nematodes belonging to the genus Eustrongylides are potentially pathogenic for humans; infection occurs after the consumption of raw or undercooked fish. Dice snakes can be a paratenic host for a stage IV of Eustrongylides excisus, Jägerskiöld, 1909 larva due to specific diet of the snakes. The infection rate of E. excisus in Natrix tessellata (Laurenti, 1768) was studied in the basin of the middle and the lower Dnipro River in 2013–2017. We searched for nematodes in snakes from four sites: Prydniprovska Thermal Power Station, Majorova Balka, Zaporizhzhia; National Nature Park Velykyi Luh. The snakes from all studied areas had high prevalence of infection (more than 90 %). The lowest level of intensity (2.50 ± 0.60) and abundance (2.27 ± 0.58)

The purpose of the research is to extend information across the distribution of zooanthroponotic helminth infections transmitted through freshwater fish in the Magadan Region.Materials and methods. The study area is located in the Upper Kolyma basin on the Magadan Region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) border. The Omulevsky Park is also located here, one of the clusters of the Chersky National Park named after A. V. Andreev. The existing lake and river systems (Darpir, Momontai, Malyk, Urultun and Ui) are inhabited by 7 fish species: Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus), east-Siberian grayling

Resumen
AbstractA high prevalence (86.7%) of various species of nematodes was observed in the stomach of great cormorants living in Lake Biwa, Japan. There were varying numbers of adults belonging to two common genera, Eustrongylides Jagerskiold 1909 (Nematoda: Dioctophymatidae) and Contracaecum Railliet & Henry 1912 (Nematoda: Anisakidae). The first included common adenophorean nematodes comprising a single species, Eustrongylides tubifex and the second comprised ascaroid nematodes that contained four named species: Contracaecum rudolphii Hartwich, 1964, Contracaecum microcephalum Yamaguti, 1961,

Resumen
Abstract The article describes occurrence and distribution of Eustrongylides trematodes in fish in the waters of the Dnipro-Buh estuary and the delta of Dnipro River in Mykolaiv and Kherson Region. Study was conducted in 2015–2016. This parasite was found in natural water reservoirs in Mykolaiv and Kherson region in following fish species: Sander lucioperca (Linnaeus, 1758), Perca fluviatilis (Linnaeus, 1758) and Esox lucius (Linnaeus, 1758). Ichtyopathological investigation of 346 fishes was conducted. Parasites were observed in abdominal cavity, muscle tissue, wall of gastro-intestinal tract

Resumen
In this study, we determined the prevalence and seasonal dynamic of the infection of the Rutilis rutilis, Lіnnaeus 1758 with the nematode Eustrongylides excisus. The fish was caught in the waters of the Dnipro-Buh estuary in seven sample collection sites between 2016 and 2019. They all underwent ichthyopathological examination. Parasites, found during examination, undergone microscopy to determine their taxonomy. Overall 595 specimens were obtained. The mean prevalence of infection over entire study period (2016–2019) was 17.4 %. Ichthyopathological examination of the roach caught in the water

Resumen
Only a few comprehensive studies have been carried out on parasites in amphibians and reptiles in Ukraine. This has resulted in identifying over 100 helminth species across these vertebrate groups. However, most of the studies were performed in the 20th century and the taxonomy of many parasites and their hosts has changed ever since, in addition to the discovery of new species and registrations of species that had not been previously known for Ukraine. In recent decades, there have been very few publications on helminths from amphibian or reptile hosts in this region. Notably, just one of the

Resumen
AbstractHorizontal gene transfer (HGT) has played an important role in the evolution of nematodes. Among candidate genes, cyanase, which is typically found only in plants, bacteria and fungi, is present in more than 35 members of the Phylum Nematoda, but absent from free-living and clade V organisms. Phylogenetic analyses showed that the cyanases of clade I organismsTrichinellaspp.,Trichurisspp. andSoboliphyme baturini(Subclass: Dorylaimia) represent a well-supported monophyletic clade with plant cyanases. In contrast, all cyanases found within the Subclass Chromadoria which encompasses filari
