Agile user requirements are typically givens as user stories written using natural language and they come in different forms. The most complex form of stories to work with are epics. If epics are poorly understood, they can contribute to threats regarding the sprints or projects becoming behind schedule. It can be attributed to the epic's complexity. Epics have a major role in pre-written culture areas where history education is ensured by oral narratives As it is known, a poem or a ballad formed as a result of an event affecting all or a part of a nation constitutes the first phase of the epic. This poem spreads from language to language, expands over time with poems related to other events, and takes the form of an epic by being edited by an epic writer. In this context, epics are not independent of history. however every epic does not exactly coincide with historical facts. It is normal for a narrative that has lived in oral culture for

Abstract Chapter 4 addresses epic violence and warfare. The traditional epic is an arena of male competition, where heroes exert their will through conflict and aggression. Yet no literary form broods more deeply over the consequences of war. The chapter describes the warrior culture of the traditional epic, driven by an economy of glory and shame, and explores the epic’s fascination with the aesthetics of combat. Epics often dwell on what happens when anger spirals out of control, causing the breakdown of societal systems that aim to manage violence. The chapter discusses several epics that p

Abstract ‘A story of all things’ addresses the challenge of defining an epic. Many Western epics are modelled on the narrative poems of Homer and Virgil, which arose from the oral traditions of archaic Greece. Over centuries, this epic canon adopted strict formal conventions, including lofty and formulaic diction, lengthy catalogues, and extended similes, as well as a stockpile of inherited scene types, such as single combats, war councils, and journeys to the underworld. But similar tales of great heroic deeds are told all over the world. The chapter explains that the epic’s close ties to Wes

Though occurring across centuries and cultures, all epics have in common a public storytelling role that relies on both linguistic and ‘musical’ — that is, at least pitched or incanted — tropes to make it more absorbing for its audience, and memorisab

Yet, the truly amazing phenomenon during this time is the proliferation of epics in England, which is unique in the history of Western literature. If we are inclined to smile at the pretensions of a culture that anticipated several epics every year, we perhaps testify less to our taste than to our own shift in values and lowered expectations.

Resumen
When most people think of the genre epic poem, they probably think of the great epics of antiquity and the Middle Ages. The further one follows literary history into the present, the rarer one encounters this art form. Two contemporary German-language authors, however, have deliberately chosen this form to tell heroine stories, in keeping with the tradition of the genre: Ann Cotten’s verse epic ‘Verbannt!’ (2016) and Anne Weber’s ‘Annette, ein Heldinnenepos’ (2020). Although both works are dedicated to the same form and function, they differ strikingly in both aspects.
