The aim of this paper is to preserve the originality of the art form. The recent trends of consumerism, market and selling attitude have made this art a maidservant of the moneyed people. The selling of art and modifying it is not bad but it should not affect the creativity of the people. Due to the contemporary styles the real essence of this folk art is disappearing which in turn is also depleting the values associated with it. A serious thought is urgently required before the traditional creativity and values are drained out to nothing. NGO professionals, researchers, folk artists, and peop

In the 1950s, exotica was a genre of pop music that specialized in depicting imaginary exotic paradises and conventionalized natives. By the late 1960s, exotica pop had disappeared, but its tropes of temporal and spatial disjuncture persisted, structuring the music, visual art, and social theory of the utopian counterculture. While 1950s and 1960s kinds of exotica differ in their preferred imaginary destinations, both raise the question of what intermediate shades between belief and disbelief are demanded by aestheticized representations of human life. This essay theorizes exotica as a mode of

Impressionism derives its source of inspiration from external, even exotic sources; its literature, art and music are easily projected outside; the recipient of its colorful images has the means of comparing photoreality with the artist’s experience of it. This impressionism movement starts from painting, then penetrated into other arts fields. Impressionism has changed the way people view art. It has been considered the setting stone of Modern Art. In general, impressionism has changed the perspective of art, itself.

Socialist Realist ceremonial art has generally been viewed in the West as a form of high art, because of its air of monumentality and references to classics. Judged by high-art standards, such works are invariably failures, and Western commentators have accordingly treated Socialist Realism as something exotic or inexplicable. This approach is inadequate: firstly, because it does not examine Stalin-era art on its own terms, and secondly, because it refuses to acknowledge any similarities in Western culture.Socialist Realism was a discipline placed upon artists to provide a suitably dignified b

When the early colonizers from Europe arrived in Africa they encountered these influences and spontaneously perceived the African cultures to be ideologically hybridized and more compatible with Islam than with the ideologies of the west. This difference progressively endorsed a perception of Africa and the east being “exotic” and was as such depicted in early paintings and writings. Resumen
The avant-garde movement Surrealism claimed historical figures as supposed ancesters, as is well known, but also interacted with the past, and especially art of the past, in other ways. This article explores the reception of the European Middle Ages in French Surrealism, in particular medieval art, by means of a case study: illustrations of medieval and early-modern Western art in the surrealist periodicals Documents (1929-1931) and Minotaure (1933-1939). The cerebral and contrary Documents challenged the canon of art by actively looking at the margins of European art, reproducing medieval art

This article presents the study of Rudyard Kipling’s early pieces of writing (the collection of stories Plain Tales from the Hills, 1888). The author proposes an alternative view to the consideration of the writer’s literary heritage from the position of jingoism and propagation of the civilizing mission of the British Empire, which can still be encountered in academic research. The analysis of Plain Tales from the Hills suggests that the praise of British imperialism was not the main idea of Kipling’s early works. The researcher comes to the conclusion that Kipling did not regard India as a c

Indian subcontinent has a rich heritage of biodiversity because of its variable geo-climatic conditions. Several exotic plant species survived since ancient period and became an integral part of Indian flora. Nay, they now seem to be iconic plants and are being venerated. They are valued by the Indians for their esteem, culture and welfare. Select 20 exotic notable species are studied from the standpoint of their origin, distribution, culture and ancient Sanskrit literature. Diverse information about them is adduced from architecture, art, archaeological sites, etymology (philology), anthropol

A new setup (gSPEC) for the measurements of magnetic moments in exotic species is proposed for development at FAIR, the international nuclear facility currently under construction in Darmstadt, Germany. The experimental setup will use a few of the state–of–the–art segmented DEGAS detectors available at GSI, acquire a new large dipole magnet to induce external magnetic fields required for the application of the Time–Differential Perturbed Angular Distribution (TDPAD) technique and integrate ancillary detection systems as part of a research plan to study the properties of exotic species that wil

The discovery of topological materials has motivated recent developments to export topological concepts into photonics to make light behave in exotic ways. Here, we predict several unconventional quantum optical phenomena that occur when quantum emitters interact with a topological waveguide quantum electrodynamics bath, namely, the photonic analog of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model. When the emitters’ frequency lies within the topological bandgap, a chiral bound state emerges, which is located on just one side (right or left) of the emitter. In the presence of several emitters, this bound stat

The state-of-the-art infrared (IR) detection uses quantum photodetectors and bolometers. Quantum IR photodetectors are expensive and require cooling, and exotic and toxic materials. Whereas, bolometers are cost-efficient and uncooled, but they are much slower and less sensitive. Recently we have demonstrated that ultra-thin, highly-doped silicon membranes can be used to build fast and highly-sensitive thermoelectric bolometers. We present the fabrication of these devices, electro-thermal characterization results, and estimate the full potential of this technology.

Elephants were first deployed in warfare by Indian and Persian armies. The Greco-Macedonian troops first encountered these fearsome creatures in battle during the campaign of Alexander the Great. Subsequently, the Successors and later Hellenistic rulers similarly used elephants in battle. From this time, the animal began to appear in Greco-Roman art. Tracing the appearance of the elephant in Hellenistic history and art, I suggest that the elephant not only continued to be associated with its Asian and African origins and came to symbolize military triumph over exotic foes, it retained religiou

AbstractKirigami, i.e. the cutting and folding of flat objects to create versatile shapes, is one of the most traditional Chinese arts that has been widely used in window decorations, gift cards, festivals, and various ceremonies, and has recently found intriguing applications in modern sciences and technologies. In this article, we review the newly developed focused-ion-beam-based nanoscale kirigami, named nano-kirigami, as a powerful three-dimensional (3D) nanofabrication technique. By utilizing the topography-guided stress equilibrium induced by ion-beam irradiation on a free-standing gold
