The study determines some factors considered by the students of the Economic Faculties University Tadulako using social media Instagram as a means of buying & selling online. The sampling technique is accidental side, with 105 samples taken. Based on the analysis factors using 21 indicators, the study finds 3 factors that are considered by students in using social media Instagram as a means of buying and selling online. These factors are: 1) Online Marketing consists of F3 (Ease in business), F12 (Facilitate the search for products), F14 (There are lots of goods imported or local), F15 (to hunt many gifts), F17 (can develop the business). 2) lifestyle, includes: F2 (following the trend of lifestyle), F6 (Instagram is already a lot of users), F10 (the event to seek friendship), F11 (as the entertainment media), F21 (the advice of friends); and 3) Sales Promotion factors such as: F1 (Promotion convincing), F16 (As an advertising medium offers products or services), F19 (price offered various kinds), F20 (For media information). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang harus diperhatikan mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi Universitas Tadulako menggunakan media sosial Instagram sebagai alat untuk membeli & menjual secara online. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menentukan sampel adalah metode yang digunakan untuk menentukan sampel Sampling Sampling yang disela. Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 105 orang. Berdasarkan analisis faktor-faktor yang telah dilakukan melalui tahap pengujian dengan menggunakan 21 indikator ditemukan bahwa hanya 3 faktor yang dianggap mahasiswa, dengan menggunakan media sosial Instagram sebagai alat untuk jual-beli secara online merupakan faktor Pemasaran Online: F3 (Kemudahan dalam berbisnis), F12 (Memfasilitasi pencarian produk), F14 (Ada banyak barang impor atau lokal), F15 (untuk memburu banyak hadiah), F17 (bisa mengembangkan bisnis), maka faktor faktor kedua gaya hidup: F2 (mengikuti tren gaya hidup), F6 (Instagram sudah banyak pengguna), F10 (acara untuk mencari pertemanan), F11 (sebagai media hiburan), F21 (saran dari teman). Selanjutnya, faktor ketiga, yaitu faktor Promosi Penjualan: F1 (Promotion meyakinkan), F16 (Sebagai media periklanan menawarkan produk atau jasa), F19 (harga yang ditawarkan bermacam macam), F20 (Untuk informasi media).

The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the description of student decisions in choosing online studies at UPBJJ UT Jambi, and (2) the factors that influence student decisions in choosing online studies at UPBJJ UT Jambi. Ideal once daily floating drug delivery system should release the drug for 24 hours and float up to 24 hrs. Once daily floating matrix tablet of Cefpodoxime proxetil should be release the drug for 24 hours to maintain the effective plasma level. All the formulations were prepared by using two different grades of HPMC (K100 and K4), cross povidone and MCC pH 101. HPMC is a matrix forming agent. All the formulations showed buoyancy lag time of less than 5 seconds regardless of concentration of HPMC K100 M, K4 and cross povidone. It may be due to the low density of tablet. The swelling index of HPMC K100 M was found to be higher than that of HPMC K4 M. This may be due to high molecular weight and high viscosity of HPMC K100 M. The formulation F1 containing low level of HPMC K100 M (75 mg) and low level of cross povidone (75 mg) showed higher burst release and maintained drug release up to 24 hours. The tablet was remained floated for 24 hours. High level of HPMC K100 M (F2, F3, F5,F6,) results in greater amount of gel being formed. This gel increases diffusion path length of the drug and hence release rate decreases. On the same line it formulation F5 and F8 should show relatively less drug release as high level of HPMC K100 M(100 mg & 125 mg respectively) is used in these formulations. But both the formulations released more than 97% drug within 24 hours. the formulations F10,F13,F14,F16,F17 released the drug within 20 hours. The formulation F11 which contains high amount of HPMC K4 M than F10 (100mg) and low level of cross povidone (75 mg) shows drug release up to 24 hours with sufficient floating duration. The formulation F15 and F18 contains high level of HPMC K4 M (125mg) and high level of cross povidone (100mg and 125mg) respectively. Both the formulations showed sustained drug release up to 24 hrs. The Elevated and Activity of Acetilcholinesterase Enzyme on Aedes aegypti Selected by Malathion. The aim of this research was to study the effect of selection by malathion on the activity level Acetilcholinesterase enzyme on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Selection of Aedes aegypti larval by mean of malathion have been conducted for 20 generations. During the selection process time has been increased of concentration applied and exposure. For generation 0-5 (F0-F5), a concentration of 25 µl/l (24 ppm) was used to expose the larvae to malathion for five minutes. In generation 6-10 (F6-F10) the concentration has increased to 50 µl/l (48 ppm); in F11-F15 the concentration used was 100 µl/l (96 ppm) whereas in F16-F20 200µl/l (192 ppm) was used. Mosquito generations that would be regarded as representative and reference groups were F0, F5, F10, F15 and F20. The LC50 of F0, F5, F10, F15 and F20 was 0,025; 0,032; 0,042; 0,062 and 0,071 ppm respectively. Increases LT50 values was also observed in Aedes aegypti selected by malathion. The LT50 of F0, F5, F10, F15 and F20 generations was 7,9; 11,3; 18; 30,6 and 33,1 minutes respectively. The low levels of malathion resistance could be conferred by the elevated of α-esterase. The values of the α-esterase in F0, F5, F10, F15 and F20 were 0,155; 0,174; 0,203; 0,209 and 0,215 µmol/min/mg protein respectively. The acetilcholinesterase activities were also raised in F0, F5, F10, F15 and F20, the value of acetilcholinesterase activities were 20,35; 20,26; 23,14; 23,18 and 24,9%.

Modelled on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), signed at the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union, which convened in Kigali, Rwanda, on 21 March 2018, is designed to facilitate a single continental trade regulation and integration framework for trade disciplines and intentioned to boost intra-Africa trade. AfCFTA came on the backdrop of not less than eight regional economic communities (RECs), which are loosely regulated. The study finds that AfCFTA can become a beacon of development in the African continent, provided an array of issues including addressing the multiplicity of RECs, putting in place a Development-focused migration and labour policy or developing a side labour agreement similar to that of NAFTA to address other issues like harmonisation of treatment and conditions of workforce and pursuing industrialisation that will help manage the negative spillovers of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh dari berbagai jenis fungisida alami terhadap resiko fusarium penyakit layu (Fusarium oxysporum) in vitro. Percobaan dilakukan di Laboratorium Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Garut September-Oktober 2015. Perlakuan sebanyak 16 yang diulang sebanyak dua kali yang disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Semua data yang diamati dianalisis dengan uji scott knott. Perlakuannya yaitu: F0 = (Tanpa fungisida), F1 = Chitosan 1%, F2 = Chitosan 2%, F3 = Ekstrak Bayam duri 5%, F4 = Ekstrak Bayam duri 10%, F5 = Ekstrak Bawang putih 5%, F6 = Ekstrak Bawang putih 10%, F7 = Ekstrak Jawer kotok 5%, F8 = Ekstrak Jawer kotok 10%, F9 = Ekstrak kangkung 5%, F10 = Ekstrak kangkung 10%, F11 = Ekstrak Sirih 5%, F12 = Ekstrak Sirih 10%, F13 = Ekstrak serai wangi 5%, F14 = Ekstrak wangi 10%, F15 = fungisida sintetis 3g/liter. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bawang putih dengan konsentrasi 10% (F6) memberi efek terbaik pada penghambatanpertumbuhan hifaF. oxysporumyang ditunjukkan nilai terendah dalam panjang hifa dan diameter penghambatan.

Seis linhagens de pimentão (Capsicum annuum L.) diferindo na tolerância ao baixo teor de fósforo (P) no solo, os híbridos F1 e seus recíprocos, obtidos de um cruzamento dialélico completo, foram avaliados em casa de vegetação, para estimar as capacidades combinatórias em relação à acumulação de matéria seca total, matéria seca da parte aérea, matéria seca das raízes, razão raiz:parte aérea, área foliar, altura da planta, conteúdo de P total na planta e coeficiente de translocação de P. Ambas as capacidades, geral (CGC) e específica de combinação (CEC), foram estatisticamente significativas, com o componente quadrático associado à CEC superior ao relativo à CGC em todas as características avaliadas, evidenciando predominância de efeitos gênicos não aditivos nos cruzamentos. Linhagens tolerantes à baixa disponibilidade de P exibiram elevadas estimativas positivas da CGC, foram as mais divergentes e seus híbridos revelaram médias elevadas para a maioria das características avaliadas, enquanto comportamento inverso foi apresentado pelas linhagens intolerantes. Levando-se em consideração o desempenho das linhagens, as heteroses e o efeito da CEC, destacaram-se as combinações P-141-190-F16 x P-142-403-F11, P-142-215-F15 x P-142-270-F12, P-141-152-F14 x P-142-215-F15, P-141-152-F14 x P-142-403-F11 e P-141-150-F10 x P-141-152-F14. Methods: Thirteen formulas (F1–F13) were prepared (five were conventional, and the rest were hollow type suppositories) by using different bases, such as, witepsol H35, polyethylene glycols (PEGs) with different ratio and glycerinated gelatin. The prepared suppositories were evaluated for physical properties, such as, hardness, melting time, softening time, and for dissolution profile. Results: All of the prepared suppositories had acceptable physical properties. The maximum percent release of piroxicam was 98, 97, 95, and 91% within 50 minutes were obtained from hollow type suppositories containing piroxicam in a solution form and utilizing witepsol H35 base (F10), glycerinated gelatin base (F13), PEGs 400:4000 (70:30) (F12), and PEGs 200:6000 (70:30) (F11), respectively. Also, they exhibited rapid release of piroxicam, however, F10 and F12 released 65 and 50% of piroxicam within 5 minutes, while, F11 released 57% within 10 minutes. Conclusion: Hollow type suppositories containing piroxicam in a solution form can be considered as the most suitable formulas (F10–F13). So, hollow-type suppository is useful as a promising approach for enhancing the release of piroxicam to be administered rectally. Also, the study revealed that in addition to the type of suppositories, the type of the base, the grade, and the ratio of PEGs bases are other important factors affecting the physical properties of suppositories and the dissolution profile of piroxicam.

Objective: The present study is to formulate and optimization of surfactant, cosurfactant, and oil of ketoconazole nanoemulsion.Methods: Ketoconazole was dissolved in surfactant, cosurfactant, and oil until saturated, clear solution extracted with methanol, its absorbance was measured using a UV spectrophotometer at 243 nm. Comparisons of surfactants, cosurfactants, and oils are variously varied. Formulation method was performed using spontaneous nanoemulsion method.Results: Surfactants, cosurfactants, and oils used for the nanoemulsion formula are tween 80, ethanol, and isopropyl myristate (IPM). Formulation of ketoconazole nanoemulsion with comparison of tween 80 concentration with ethanol (smix) 4:1 and smix with oil 9:1 was found that the formulae F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, and F7 are unstable and the formulae F8, F9, F10, F11, and F12 are stable at the period of manufacture. The best physical stability tests from F8, F9, F10, F11, and F12 are F10.Conclusions: Optimization of ketoconazole nanoemulsion formula was obtained at Tween 80, 36% concentration, 9% ethanol, and IPM 5%.

Objective: The present study is to formulate and evaluate the ketoprofen transdermal matrix patch which containing different polymer components.Methods: The transdermal matrix patch of ketoprofen was formulated using four formulas using polyethylene glycol 400, polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30, and ethyl cellulose as the polymer. The transdermal matrix patch was evaluated for various physicochemical characteristics and drug contain. The wide and in-depth adoption of advanced information technologies within the construction industry has led to its revolution of all aspects; the construction site is not an exception. Recently, the notion of a smart construction site (SCS) has drawn the attention of all stakeholders within the industry. While the practice of SCS could be witnessed in various regions and the notion is mentioned frequently, the concept of SCS is still emerging, a sound framework for SCS development is still absent. As a bottom-up phenomenon, a systematic analysis of critical factors would provide all stakeholders with a comprehensive view of SCS development. In this research, previous research and existing practices of SCS are referred to, which helps to identify 17 critical factors for SCS development from the perspective of management, technology, and organization. The DEMATEL-ISM approach is introduced to conduct the factor analysis, and a questionnaire survey is conducted among 10 experts to investigate their attitudes on these factors. Following the proposed method, the 17 factors are classified into seven hierarchies and further categorized into three layers, i.e., effect layer, operational layer, and input layer, which helps to demonstrate the interrelationship among the critical factors for SCS development. The effect layer consists of the first to the third hierarchy, which contains the factors of cost (F2), safety (F4), schedule (F5), environment (F9), and quality (F3) management; these factors belong to the management perspective and reflect the expectations during SCS development. The operational layer consists of the fourth to the sixth hierarchy, which contains seven factors, namely, processing (F8), information (F10), communication and coordination (F15), personnel (F5), material (F6), equipment (F7), and management regulation (F17); these factors are critical in processing the input resources into the final effect of SCS development. The input layer only consists of the seventh hierarchy, which contains hardware and software facility (F11), integrated platform (F12), data sharing center (F13), smart decision system (F14), and technical team (F16); these factors represent the investment of SCS development. The systematic analysis of critical factors provides new insights on SCS development, which could be adopted as references for future SCS development by all stakeholders like government and construction enterprises.

The gravity map of Ouaddai in the eastern region of Chad exhibits important anomalies that are often delimitated by the high gravity gradients, resulting from the density contrasts between various anomaly sources. This presumes an important tectonic activity in zone. Because of its arid and desert nature, the region is water-poor or even lacking water resources. The main source of water in the region is made of very deep aquifers. The gravity analysis from this study helps to better understand the network of faults in the area. Many complementary approaches of the gravity data processing have been applied, namely the horizontal gradient coupled to the upward and downward continuation and the Euler method. Results from the data filtring have allowed highlighting faults network in various directions (SSW-NNE S-N E-W, NE-SW) and the main direction. In total, 37 major faults were detected with various lengths including 11 (F6, F9, F10, F12, F17, F29, F31, F34, F35, F37) for a cumulative total length of 353 km oriented towards Bongor basin and 15 others (F1, F4, F7, F8, F11, F13, F18, F20, F23, F25, F26, F27, F28, F30, F33), for a cumulative total length of 621 km, oriented towards Doba basin. These faults are of paramount importance with great potential impacts on the regions hydrocarbon reservoirs. Thise results in one hand confirmed some known faults from the previous investigations. In the other hand, the study helps to identify other new and unknown tectonic signatures.

Penggunaan cabai keriting sebagai bahan makanan terus meningkat. Dibutuhkan peningkatan produksi melalui penggunaan varietas unggul dengan memanfaatkan lahan pasang surut yang banyak terdapat di Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan genotipe cabai keriting IPB yang memiliki keragaan agronomi yang unggul dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan di lahan pasang surut Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Juli 2020 sampai Januari 2021 di lahan pasang surut sulfat masam potensial dengan luapan tipe C menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan tiga ulangan. Genotipe yang diuji adalah enam cabai keriting IPB F10-120005-141-16-35-3-2B, F10-120005-141-16-35-1-4-3B, F10-120005-141-16-35-7-1-3B, F10-120005-241-2-9-4-4-1-1B, F10-120005-120-7-1-7-8-1-2B, F11-0005-9-6, dan empat genotipe pembanding SSP, Laris, Caman, F1-PM999. Data dianalisis ragam dengan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Jujur. Hubungan antar peubah dianalisis korelasi Pearson. Genotipe uji F10-120005-120-7-1-7-8-1-2B memiliki batang tinggi dan menghasilan bobot per buah lebih tinggi dari genotipe pembanding, karena didukung oleh tebal daging buah tertinggi, buah yang panjang, dan diameter buah terbesar. Genotipe IPB F10-120005-141-16-35-1-4-3B, F10-120005-141-16-35-7-1-3B, F10-120005-241-2-9-4-4-1-1B, F10-120005-120-7-1-7-8-1-2B berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai varietas unggul di lahan pasang surut sulfat masam potensial Sumatera Selatan, dengan produktivitas 11.38 ton ha-1 sampai 12.92 ton ha-1. Genotipe cabai keriting mempunyai kemampuan tumbuh yang berbeda di lahan pasang surut, tergantung kemampuannya beradaptasi dengan lingkungan tumbuh sesuai dengan sifat genetik yang dimiliki.

In doing so, this study tested the null hypotheses of product aggregation, block separability and substitutability. The test results show that the unrestricted source differentiated model is significantly different from the aggregated model, separated model, and restricted source differentiated model at the conventional level. The Industrialized Building System (IBS) was introduced by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) are classified to precast concrete framing, panel and box systems, steel formwork systems, steel framing systems, prefabricated systems and block work system which is mainly components based systems and products (CIDB, 2007). According to Nawi (2011), the benefit of IBS formwork system implementation will lead to environmental friendly which reduce the harmful impact on the environment by better use of available resources and reuse of molds will affect less of waste materials. Since there is no theory about readiness factors of IBS formwork system in Malaysia, the stakeholders will not realize the significance of IBS formwork system. Most of the challenges factor in implementation of IBS formwork system is the attitude of Malaysian construction stakeholders which are un-readiness in facing of globalization era since it was already stated by IBS Roadmap (2003-2010). Hence, the goals of this research are to analyses the critical factors of driving or hindering the used of IBS formwork system in the Malaysian construction industry. A survey among 157 respondents which are construction personnel was employed for the study. The survey result shows that fifteen (15) identified factors for IBS formwork implementation are further ranked according to the average mean score perceived by construction personnel as follow: (F6: Government Initiative), (F12: Roles of Agencies), (F13: Procurement), (F7: Training), (F14: Incentives), (F15: Manufacturer Availability), (F11: Familiarity of IBS System), (F4: Qualified Technical Team), (F8: Cost … Financial), (F3: IBS Score Index), (F1: Project Trend), (F10: Compliance of Policy), (F5: IBS Scoring Manual), (F9: Promotion) and (F2: Contractor Involvement). Other than that, the development of IBS Formwork System Readiness Framework (IBS FOSREF) incorporated with Strategic Level Implementation Mc Kinsey 7s for Malaysian Construction Industry which are the main outcome for this research could facilitate the Malaysian construction stakeholders to ensure IBS formwork system implementation will be success.

Objective: Echo intensity measurements are highly influenced by ultrasound system and parameters used for measurement, making comparisons of results obtained from different ultrasound machines difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to understand how reliability changes when using different ultrasound systems and parameters. Materials and Methods: ALOKA SSD4000 and GE LOGIQ P6 systems were used to compare rectus femoris echo intensity in 16 healthy young subjects (eight women) using different depths (D), gains (G), and frequencies (F). The following settings were adopted: ALOKA1 (D6/G30/F7.5), ALOKA2 (D6/G45/F7.5), ALOKA3 (D6/G30/F10), LOGIQ1 (D6/G50/F15), LOGIQ2 (D6/G0/F15), LOGIQ3 (D6/G0/F10), and LOGIQ4 (D6/G30/F10). Intraclass correlation coefficient, standard error of the measure, minimum difference, and Bland-Altman tests were performed to calculate reliability and agreement between systems’ settings. Results: ALOKA1 × LOGIQ1, ALOKA1 × LOGIQ4, and ALOKA3 × LOGIQ1 showed moderate to high ICCs and agreement on the Bland-Altman test. Conclusion: Echo intensity varies between systems and parameters, but reliability can be increased by adjusting the ultrasound settings.

The aim of present investigation was to formulate and evaluate the sustained release matrix tablets of Repaglinide (RPGN). These matrix tablets were prepared by wet granulation method using synthetic and natural polymers like HPMC K4M, HPMC 100M and Guar gum (GG), Carrageenan (CG), respectively. Invitro drug release studies were performed by USP dissolution apparatus type-II (paddle method) using 0.1 N HCl buffer and pH 6.8 phosphate buffer for 12 h. Amongst all the 12 formulations, formulation F12 showed maximum drug release of 97.9% for 12 h study. It was observed from the kinetic studies that all the formulations followed first order kinetics and particularly the drug release from its dosage form was fickian diffusion (F9, F12), non-fickian diffusion (F1-F8, F10-F11). IntroductionStudies show a link between attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and substance use disorders (SUD). Patients may abuse illicit drugs or alcohol as means of self-medicating e.g. stimulants for ADHD symptoms. Identifying ADHD symptoms in SUD patients could help improve treatment outcome and quality of life.ObjectivesTo evaluate the prevalence of ADHD symptoms in Riga Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Centre (RPNC) outpatients and study the link between ADHD symptoms and specific SUDs.MethodsIn a period of 30 days, all consentient clients of RPNC outpatient addiction clinic were surveyed for basic sociodemographic data and screened with Adult ADHD Self-report Scale (ASRSv1.1). Results were compared among patients with different types of addictions previously diagnosed using ICD-10 classification. Results were also compared to a control group.ResultsOut of 279 participants, 209 were treatment-seeking SUD patients, 70 controls. Mean age was 37.99, 77.8% were male. Among SUD patients 45,2% had alcohol UD(F10), 52.9% opiate UD(F11), 35.1% stimulant UD(F14;f15), 20.2% sedative UD(F13). Patients who had stimulant addiction as one of their diagnosis and patients with multiple addictions were significantly more likely (p=0.023 and p=0.012 respectively) to screen positive for ASRSv1.1 among SUD patients population. All types of SUDs were significantly more likely to screen positive for ASRSv1.1 when compared to a control group.ConclusionsThere is a strong link between SUD and ADHD symptoms. Patients with stimulant or multiple SUDs are more likely to screen positive for ADHD symptoms than other SUD patients. It is important to identify ADHD symptoms in treatment-seeking SUD patients.DisclosureNo significant relationships.

This paper presents a dynamic general equilibrium model of R&D-based trade between two structurally identical countries in which both innovation and skill acquisition rates are endogenously determined. Trade liberalization increases R&D investment and the rate of technological change. It also reduces the relative wage of unskilled workers and results in skill upgrading within each industry when R&D is the skilled-labor intensive activity relative to manufacturing of final products. Time-series evidence from the United States and simulation analysis support the empirical relevance of the model, which offers a North–North trade explanation for increasing wage inequality. A metastatic melanoma cell line B16-F10 (F10) was modified to a more undifferentiated state by Nanog overexpression. The produced cell line Nanog+F10 showed a higher metastatic potential than F10. Instead of whole cells, the extracellular vesicles (EVs) therefrom were investigated about their possible role as an autovaccine against metastasis. EVs from Nanog+F10 cells (Nanog+F10-EVs) could suppress the metastasis, contrasting the EVs from less metastatic F10 cells (F10-EVs) enhanced metastasis. The involvement of TGF-β1 in the role of Nanog+F10-EVs was analyzed, as TGF-β1 was a secretory cytokine being affected most intensively by Nanog overexpression. It was suggested to be crucial that the TGF-β1 concentration in Nanog+F10-EVs should be as low as 1.6 pg/μg for its metastasis-suppressive role. In response to Nanog+F10-EVs, immunoreaction was observed in liver, indicating the specific decrease in the number of tumor-promotive CD163-positive macrophages. These indicate a possibility of Nanog+F10-EVs as a novel autovaccine candidate against melanoma metastasis.

In a dynamic global environment of increased economic interdependence, nations are more than ever seeking to remove barriers to trade, despite growing trends of protectionism. In this context, India and the EU-27 have initiated talks for the establishment of a Bilateral Trade and Investment Agreement (BTIA) in an attempt to bring their economies together. However, after 16 rounds of negotiations, the failure to conclude this agreement has raised questions regarding the benefits of the agreement to India. This study attempts to examine the current trade scenario and the effects of the proposed regional trade agreement by estimating a structural gravity model. This study employs the Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) estimator for analysing the trade-creation and trade-diversion effects of the BTIA to overcome the shortcomings of ordinary least square (OLS) estimators. For the empirical analysis, the merchandise export data from the Gravity database has been taken for a period of 19 years from 2001 to 2019. The results indicate that the BTIA could lead to trade creation and trade diversion, highlighting the need for a re-evaluation of India’s trade policy. JEL Classification: F10, F13, F14, F15, O24

An experiment was carried out to define the optimal rate of palm-press fibres in growing rabbits’ diet. In total, 64 weaned rabbits (35 days old) of Beninese breed were divided in 16 groups of 4 rabbits (2 males and 2 females) each. During six weeks, rabbits were fed with 4 complete diets containing 0% (F0, control), 5% (F5), 10% (F10), and 15% (F15) of fibres from a palm oil industry. Results demonstrated that up to 15 of palm-press fibres can be included efficiently in growing rabbits’ diet. The daily feed intake was not significantly affected by the diet (P>0.05). At 13 weeks old, the average live weights of rabbits were 1788.5 g, 1805.0 g, 1718.5 g, and 1801.3 g in respectively, F0, F5, F10 and F15 groups. No mortality of rabbits was recorded. Compared to F0, the feed conversion ratio and feeding cost decreased in the group of rabbits fed F15 diet. The carcass yield was similar between diets.

ABSTRACT An early step in vaccinia virus morphogenesis, the association of crescent membranes with electron-dense granular material, is perturbed when expression of the viral protein encoded by the A30L or G7L open reading frame is repressed. Under these conditions, we found that phosphorylation of the A17 membrane protein, which is mediated by the F10 kinase, was severely reduced. Furthermore, A30 and G7 stimulated F10-dependent phosphorylation of A17 in the absence of other viral late proteins. Evidence for physical interactions between A30, G7, and F10 was obtained by their coimmunoprecipitation with antibody against A30 or F10. In addition, phosphorylation of A30 was dependent on the F10 kinase and autophosphorylation of F10 was stimulated by A30 and G7. Nevertheless, the association of A30, G7, and F10 occurred even with mutated, catalytically inactive forms of F10. Just as A30 and G7 are mutually dependent on each other for stability, F10 was nearly undetectable in the absence of A30 and G7. The reverse is not true, however, as repression of F10 did not diminish A30 or G7. Interaction of F10 with A30 and G7 presumably occurred within the virus factory areas of the cytoplasm, where each was concentrated. F10 localized predominantly in the cortical region of immature virions, beneath the membrane where A17 is located. F10 remained associated with the particulate core fraction of mature virions after treatment with a nonionic detergent and reducing agent. The formation of protein complexes such as the one involving A30, G7, and F10 may be a mechanism for the regulated packaging and processing of virion components.

Starting in the F4 generation, successive generations of a barley composite cross (CCXXI) were propagated in three North American locations. Data were collected for seven isozyme loci and 12 morphological characters from three generations (F5, F11, or F12 and F18 or F19) at each location and were analyzed for evolutionary changes of multilocus associations. Rates of change of multilocus gametic frequencies for isozyme loci varied according to location. The changes occurred faster at the temperate northern locations (Saskatoon and Beaverlodge) than at the Mediterranean-type southern (Davis) location, which resulted in a large divergence in genetic composition of the population over a relatively short period. The repatterning of the genomic structure occurred at a faster rate in later generations (between F11 or F12 to F18 or F19) than in earlier generations (between F5 and F11 or F12). Canonical correlation analyses between the two sets of characters (morphological and isozymic) indicated that different structures of covariation evolved in different locations. SUMMARY This study determined the influence of shrinkage and viscosity of flowable composite liners on the cervical microleakage of Class II restorations using micro-CT. Seven composites of varying viscosities were selected and included five giomers (Shofu Beautifil II [BF], Flow Plus F00 and F03 [F00 and F03], Flow F02 and F10 [F02 and F10]) and 2 nano-filled composites (3M-ESPE Filtek Z350 [Z350] and Filtek Z350 Flowable [Z350F]). Polymerization shrinkage (n=7) was assessed with the Acuvol volumetric shrinkage analyzer while complex viscosity was determined with the advanced rheometric expansion system at 25°C. Standardized Class II restorations incorporating 1-mm horizontal layers of different flowable liners and 3-mm oblique layers of BF or Z350 were subjected to a silver nitrate test for 24 hours and examined using micro-CT. Microleakage was determined at 0.1-mm intervals from the buccal to lingual surfaces providing 30 sites per specimen and scored accordingly. Statistical analysis was performed with the one-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Spearman's rho correlation at a significance level of p<0.05. Mean volumetric shrinkage ranged from 5.33±0.17% to 2.35±0.02% for F02 to Z350, respectively. The flowable materials had significantly higher shrinkage than did their sculptable counterparts (BF and Z350). Complex viscosities ranged from 9.65 to 4.20 (Z350 and F10, respectively) at a frequency of 10 rad/s and from 8.16 to 3.28 (Z350 and F03, respectively) for 100 rad/s. Giomer restorations had significantly less leakage than did those restored with nano-filled composites. No microleakage was observed with restorations lined with F02 or F10. The use of flowable liners reduced cervical microleakage of Class II restorations. Interfacial integrity of Class II restorations was significantly correlated with liner viscosity, filler volume, and shrinkage.

Dumping, which is a form of price discrimination or differential pricing of different units of the same good sold at different prices in different markets, remains a continuing problem for many countries. The World Trade Organisation (WTO) members resort to the imposition of anti-dumping duties or levies to offset the effects of the dumped products on the domestic industry. This article provides a critical analysis of procedural issues in the South African anti-dumping law and practice to determine if it is compatible with the WTO’s Anti-Dumping Agreement (ADA). It particularly focusses on procedural issues prior to the imposition of anti-dumping measures by the South African International Trade Administration Commission. Some authors argue that the South African anti-dumping law and practice is incompatible with its WTO obligations in areas such as the calculation of the constructed export price, the determination of material injury and a causal relationship, the imposition of provisional and definitive anti-dumping duties and the procedure for review. The conclusion provided in this article is that the South African law and application of anti-dumping measure is largely WTO-compliant, particularly on the issues of initiation, investigation and prosecution of anti-dumping complaints. There exist significant differences between the 2 main types of xylanases, family F10 and G11. A clear understanding of the expression pattern of microbial F10 and G11 under different culture conditions would facilitate better production and industrial application of xylanase. In this study, the fungal xylanase producer Aspergillus niger A09 was systematically investigated in terms of induced expression of xylanase F10 and G11. Results showed that carbon and nitrogen sources could influence xylanase F10 and G11 transcript abundance, with G11 more susceptible to changes in culture media composition. The most favorable carbon and nitrogen sources for high G11 and low F10 production by A. niger A09 were xylan (2%) and (NH4)2C2O4 (0.3%), respectively. Following cultivation at 33 °C for 60 h, the highest xylanase activity (1132 IU per gram of wet mycelia) was observed. On the basis of differential gene expression of F10 and G11, as well as their different properties, we deduced that the F10 protein initially targeted xylan and hydrolyzed it into fragments including xylose, after which xylose acted as the inducer of F10 and G11 gene expression. These speculations also accounted for our failure to identify conditions favoring the high production of F10 but a low production of G11.

This study is different because it evaluates services trade under the FTA in North–South structure between India and Japan. Research methodology for this work includes both qualitative as well as quantitative approach. Qualitative analysis of the General Agreement on Trade in Services and the India–Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement has been undertaken to evaluate the commitments and obligations at the policy level. Quantitative analysis explores key areas of potential in services trade between India and Japan, applying Revealed Comparative Advantage index. Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was synthesized from fresh garlic extract coupled with isoniazid hydrazide (INH), a commonly used antibiotic to treat tuberculosis. A molecular docking study conducted with the selected compounds compared with anthranilate phosphoribosyltransferase (trpD) from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The aqueous extract of garlic was prepared and mixed with silver nitrate (AgNO3) solution for the superfast synthesis of stable AgNPs. INH was then conjugated with AgNPs at different ratios (v/v) to obtain stable INH-AgNPs conjugates (AgNCs). The resulting AgNCs characterized by FTIR spectra revealed the ultrafast formation of AgNPs (<5 s) and perfectly conjugated with INH. The shifting of λmax to longer wavelength, as found from UV spectral analysis, confirmed the formation of AgNCs, among which ideal formulations (F7, F10, and F13) have been pre-selected. The zeta particle size (PS) and the zeta potential (ZP) of AgNPs were found to be 145.3 ± 2.1 nm and −33.1 mV, respectively. These data were significantly different compared to that of AgNCs (160 ± 2.7 nm and −14.4 mV for F7; 208.9 ± 2.9 nm and −19.8 mV for F10; and 281.3 ± 3.6 nm and −19.5 mV for F13), most probably due to INH conjugation. The results of XRD, SEM and EDX confirmed the formation of AgNCs. From UV spectral analysis, EE of INH as 51.6 ± 5.21, 53.6 ± 6.88, and 70.01 ± 7.11 %, for F7, F10, and F13, respectively. The stability of the three formulations was confirmed in various physiological conditions. Drug was released in a sustainable fashion. Besides, from the preferred 23 compounds, five compounds namely Sativoside R2, Degalactotigonin, Proto-desgalactotigonin, Eruboside B and Sativoside R1 showed a better docking score than trpD, and therefore may help in promoting anti-tubercular activity.

Abstract The development of imatinib to target the BCR-ABL kinase in chronic phase (CP) CML has changed the natural history of the disease. This success generated much enthusiasm for the approach in the more genetically complex acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Unfortunately, the durable responses seen in CP CML are not reproduced in BCR-ABL positive ALL. Indeed, all previous attempts to target a single oncogenic pathway in acute leukemias have resulted in transient responses with frequent relapse. An alternative approach is to use agents that target “final common pathways”, i.e. processes that must be accomplished to produce additional leukemia cells regardless of driving mutations. In this paradigm, agents are not judged by differential expression of a target, but by the degree of differential uptake. One pathway to exploit is the known increased uptake of oligonucleotides by ALL cells. F10 is a poison deoxy-oligonucleotide that is a 10mer of the thymidylate synthase (TS) inhibitory 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) metabolite, 5-fluoro-2’-deoxyuridine-5’-O-monophosphate. We sought to determine the uptake and activity of F10 against preclinical ALL models. Using fluorescently labeled F10, we determined that uptake by the human ALL cell lines DG75 and SUP-B15 was rapid and had a profound temperature dependence consistent with an active process. Both cell lines demonstrated increased uptake compared to normal, lineage- depleted marrow cells from C57Bl/6 mice. Using a syngeneic, BCR-ABL-expressing murine ALL model, we confirmed rapid uptake of F10 in vivo. Furthermore, preliminary experiments suggested normal human HSCs have decreased uptake compared to primary patient samples. Consistent with this decreased uptake, F10 treatment did not alter the ability of human HSCs to engraft in immunodeficient mice. F10 treatment resulted in robust induction of apoptosis that could not be equaled by 100 fold more 5-FU. IC50 values for F10 against B6 ALL, Jurkat, DG75, Molt-4, CCRF-CEM, and SUP-B15 were in the picomolar to nanomolar range, with an average value of 2.15 nM (range 0.12 to 5.4 nM). For comparison we also tested 5-FU, doxorubicin, and cytarabine. In all cases, F10 was the most potent agent; over 1000 times more potent than 5-FU. In vivo, F10 treatment was associated with a significant increase in survival in a BCR-ABL driven, syngeneic ALL mouse model (p= 0.0001 by log rank test). Survival was dose-dependent, with median survival extended by 3, 9 or 15 days for 4, 6, or 9 doses, respectively. F10 also protected mice from leukemia-induced weight loss during and for several days after treatment. To confirm the in vivo activity of F10, we treated a separately derived syngeneic model expressing the T315I variant of BCR-ABL. As in the previous model, F10 significantly prolonged survival (p=0.0013). To further extend these results and confirm F10's activity against human ALL cells, we treated DG75, Jurkat, and SUP-B15 xenograft models. As in the murine models, F10 caused regression of disease with several animals cured and resulted in a significant survival benefit (p=0.0112). As the uptake and mechanism of action of F10 is unique we sought to determine the in vivo efficacy of F10 on ALL previously treated with cytarabine. When mice injected with previously treated ALL cells were treated with cytarabine a median survival benefit of only one day (11 vs 12 days) was observed. In contrast F10 treatment resulted in a median survival of 31 days, similar to the survival seen in previously untreated ALL. F10 exposure results in trapped topoisomerase I (Topo1) cleavage complexes in vitro. To determine if this occurs in vivo, we treated leukemic C57Bl/6 or nude mice harboring ALL xenografts with F10. After 24 hours, leukemia cells were harvested and assayed for trapped Topo1 complexes. F10 treatment resulted in detectable trapped Topo1 complexes in both the xenograft and syngeneic models. In summary, F10 exhibited remarkable activity against human and murine ALL cells in vitro and in vivo by inducing apoptosis and trapping Topo1 complexes. These data demonstrate agents that target “final common pathways” but with differential uptake can be safe and effective, even against genetically complex and aggressive leukemias. In recent years, interest in natural plant extracts for cancer treatment is growing in the drug development field. Ginkgo biloba exocarp extract (GBEE) is known for possessing inhibitory effects on various mouse and human cancer cells. And no adverse reactions were observed during its clinical application to cancer patients. The aim of this study is to investigate the inhibitory effect of GBEE on the metastasis of B16-F10 melanoma and its related mechanisms. The B16-F10 melanoma lung metastasis model was established in C57BL/6J mice. It was found that GBEE inhibited the growth and pulmonary metastasis of B16-F10 melanoma transplanted tumor and downregulated the level of MMP-9 protein. Meanwhile, the B16-F10 cells were used to study in vitro. The results showed that GBEE inhibited the proliferation and migration of B16-F10 cells. Simultaneously, it suppressed the heterogeneous adhesion of B16-F10 cells to human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) in a concentration-dependent manner. In addition, the levels of p-PI3K, p-Akt, NF-κB, and MMP-9 were decreased, while the PI3K and Akt were not significantly changed. These results indicate that GBEE can inhibit the metastasis of B16-F10 melanoma via multiple links and the molecular mechanism involved the regulation of PI3K/Akt/NF-κB/MMP-9 signaling pathway.

Biomphalaria glabrata de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil, criada no laboratório, apresenta 90% de taxa de infecção com 20 miracídios da cepa LE, autóctone. O período pré-patente normal varia de 5 a 7 semanas enquanto 5 a 10% dos moluscos expostos não eliminam cercárias. Os descendentes de exemplares negativos foram novamente submetidos à infecção individual com 20 miracídios. A média de infecção da F14 a F20 foi de 43,6%. Cortes histológicos de moluscos da F12, F14 e F15 mostraram reações teciduais nos exemplares eliminando menos de 10 cercárias. Um período pré-patente prolongado, 17 a 32 semanas, foi observado em 35 (17,9%) dos 195 exemplares infectados. Os índices de cercárias da F12, F13 e F15 baixaram de extremamente compatíveis (classe VI) para muito compatíveis e compatíveis (classes V e III) mostrando a compatibilidade menor dos moluscos selecionados.

ABSTRACT Temperature-sensitive mutants of vaccinia virus, with genetic changes that map to the open reading frame encoding the F10 protein kinase, exhibit a defect at an early stage of viral morphogenesis. To further study the role of the enzyme, we constructed recombinant vaccinia virus vF10V5i, which expresses inducible V5 epitope-tagged F10 and is dependent on a chemical inducer for plaque formation and replication. In the absence of inducer, viral membrane formation was delayed and crescents and occasional immature forms were detected only late in infection. When the temperature was raised from 37 to 39°C, the block in membrane formation persisted throughout the infection. The increased stringency may be explained by a mild temperature sensitivity of the wild-type F10 kinase, which reduced the activity of the very small amount expressed in the absence of inducer, or by the thermolability of an unphosphorylated kinase substrate or uncomplexed F10-interacting protein. Further analyses demonstrated that tyrosine and threonine phosphorylation of the A17 membrane component was inhibited in the absence of inducer. The phosphorylation defect could be overcome by transfection of plasmids that express wild-type F10, but not by plasmids that express F10 with single amino acid substitutions that abolished catalytic activity. Although the mutated forms of F10 were stable and concentrated in viral factories, only the wild-type protein complemented the assembly and replication defects of vF10V5i in the absence of inducer. These studies provide evidence for an essential catalytic role of the F10 kinase in vaccinia virus morphogenesis.

ABSTRACT The vaccinia virus F10 protein is one of two virally encoded protein kinases. A phenotypic analysis of infections involving a tetracycline-inducible recombinant (vΔiF10) indicated that F10 is involved in the early stages of virion morphogenesis, as previously reported for the mutants ts28 and ts15. The proteins encoded by ts28 and ts15 have primary defects in enzymatic activity and thermostability, respectively. Using a transient complementation assay, we demonstrated that the enzymatic activity of F10 is essential for its biological function and that both its enzymatic and biological functions depend upon N-terminal sequences that precede the catalytic domain. An execution point analysis indicated that in addition to its role at the onset of morphogenesis, F10 is also required at later stages, when membrane crescents surround virosomal contents and develop into immature virions. The F10 protein is phosphorylated in vivo, appears to be tightly associated with intracellular membranes, and can bind to specific phosphoinositides in vitro. When F10 is repressed or impaired, the phosphorylation of several cellular and viral proteins appears to increase in intensity, suggesting that F10 may normally intersect with cellular signaling cascades via the activation of a phosphatase or the inhibition of another kinase. These cascades may drive the F10-induced remodeling of membranes that accompanies virion biogenesis. Upon the release of ts28-infected cultures from a 40°C-induced block, a synchronous resumption of morphogenesis that culminates in the production of infectious virus can be observed. The pharmacological agents H89 and cerulenin, which are inhibitors of endoplasmic reticulum exit site formation and de novo lipid synthesis, respectively, block this recovery.

The status of the American lobster (Homarus americanus) in the Gulf of Maine (GOM) has been assessed for the last two decades by comparing an estimated current fishing mortality rate for females (Fcur) with a deterministically estimated biological reference point, F10%. The most recent assessment determined that GOM had exceeded the F10% for every year calculated, although in this time landings and abundance have doubled. The current policy does not consider uncertainty in the assessment. This study evaluates the impacts of uncertainty in F10% and Fcur on the status assessment of lobster fishery. Using a Monte Carlo simulation approach, we found that the status assessment would be influenced by uncertainties in estimating F10% and Fcur, and by the choice of decision confidence level reflecting the level of risk managers would like to take. A large uncertainty in Fcur and F10% and a high decision confidence level reduce the likelihood of defining the stock as overfished, and vice versa. Our results suggest that the probability of lobster overfishing may be less than previously thought, and that uncertainty in Fcur and F10% should be quantified and considered in determining the status of the GOM lobster stock.

This study was conducted to test the hypothesis that, during renal development, the Na-K-2Cl cotransporter type 2 (NKCC2) activates the tonicity-responsive enhancer binding protein (TonEBP) transcription factor by creating medullary hypertonicity. TonEBP, in turn, drives the expression of aldose reductase (AR) and urea transporter-A (UT-A). Kidneys from 13- to19-day-old fetuses ( F13– F19), 1- to 21-day-old pups ( P1– P21), and adult mice were examined by immunohistochemistry. NKCC2 was first detected on F14 in differentiating macula densa and thick ascending limb (TAL). TonEBP was first detected on F15 in the medullary collecting duct (MCD) and surrounding endothelial cells. AR was detected in the MCD cells of the renal medulla from F15. UT-A first appeared in the descending thin limb (DTL) on F16 and in the MCD on F18. After birth, NKCC2-positive TALs disappeared gradually from the tip of the renal papilla, becoming completely undetectable in the inner medulla on P21. TonEBP shifted from the cytoplasm to the nucleus in both vascular endothelial cells and MCD cells on P1, and its abundance increased gradually afterward. Immunoreactivity for AR and UT-A in the renal medulla increased markedly after birth. Treatment of neonatal animals with furosemide dramatically reduced expression of TonEBP, AR, and UT-A1. Furosemide also prevented the disappearance of NKCC2-expressing TALs in the papilla. The sequential expression of NKCC2, TonEBP, and its targets AR and UT-A and the reduced expression TonEBP and its targets in response to furosemide treatment support the hypothesis that local hypertonicity produced by the activity of NKCC2 activates TonEBP during development.

Fullerene is a nanosized carbon structure with potential drug delivery applications. We studied the bioeffects of a water-soluble fullerene derivative, fullerenol, with 10-12 oxygen groups (F10-12); its structure was characterized by IR and XPS spectroscopy. A bioluminescent enzyme system was used to study toxic and antioxidant effects of F10-12 at the enzymatic level. Antioxidant characteristics of F10-12 were revealed in model solutions of organic and inorganic oxidizers. Low-concentration activation of bioluminescence was validated statistically in oxidizer solutions. Toxic and antioxidant characteristics of F10-12 were compared to those of homologous fullerenols with a higher number of oxygen groups:F24-28 and F40-42. No simple dependency was found between the toxic/antioxidant characteristics and the number of oxygen groups on the fullerene’s carbon cage. Lower toxicity and higher antioxidant activity of F24-28 were identified and presumptively attributed to its higher solubility. An active role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the bioeffects of F10-12 was demonstrated. Correlations between toxic/antioxidant characteristics of F10-12 and ROS content were evaluated. Toxic and antioxidant effects were related to the decrease in ROS content in the enzyme solutions. Our results reveal a complexity of ROS effects in the enzymatic assay system.

AbstractIn Morocco, sugar-beet seed production represents a new challenge to meet the main breeding programme goals. The identification of a suitable zone for plant vernalization represents a bottleneck for seed production. This study aimed chiefly at evaluating the vernalization aptitude of 18 sugar beet half-sib progenies. Trials were conducted during three selection cycles in a specifically chosen environment. The experimental site of Merchouch is 40 km south-east of Rabat city. Field trials design is according to an open-pollinated experimental block. Yield components and five phenological traits were recorded during the growing cycle and at the plant maturation. The variance analysis showed a significant effect of the selection cycle on the phenological traits and grain yield. The plant cycle duration increased by 10.7 days between the first and the third selection cycles. According to the principal component analysis and the hierarchical clustering, F2, F5, F6, F9, F10, F11, F14 and F15 half-sib progenies are described as long cycle and high grain yield families. Grain yield reached 257.3 g per plant, the duration to maturity 350.6 days and the germination rate 93%. The three selection cycles and the suitability of the site vernalization conditions are potentially effective for seed production progress. Our results are relevant as they established an adequate site for the sugar beet seed production. The half-sib selection is a valuable method for sugar beet germplasm enhancement.

ABSTRACT The efficiency of receptor-mediated entry of pseudotyped virus carrying the surface protein (SU) of clone A8, a neuropathogenic variant of Friend murine leukemia virus (FrMLV), to rat glial cell line F10 was 1 order of magnitude greater than that of pseudotyped virus carrying SU of nonneuropathogenic FrMLV clone 57. Introduction of the gene coding for ecotropic MLV receptor on F10 cells (F10-ecoR) into SIRC cells, which are naturally resistant to FrMLV infection, also revealed the difference in receptor recognition between the A8 and the 57 viruses. Our results show that the difference in receptor utilization between A8-SU and 57-SU only partially explains the 3-order-of-magnitude difference in proliferation between A8 and 57 viruses in F10 cells.

The present study endeavours to observe the trade creation and trade diversion effects of three free trade agreements (FTAs) in Asia, namely, India–Japan CEPA (IJCEPA), India–Sri Lanka FTA (ISFTA), and India–Bhutan FTA (IBFTA). The article aims to evaluate three uncommon FTAs that include developing–developed, developing–developing and developing–least developed countries. The objective is to evaluate the effects of these FTAs on exports and draw lessons for both the contracting parties and for other economies to commence FTAs that promote trade liberalization. This paper also aims to debunk the myth that FTAs between developing-least developed countries is not beneficial for the developing or least developed counterpart. The study applies augmented gravity model to capture the trade creation and trade diversion effects. The results confirm that ISFTA and IBFTA have trade creation effect, while in case of IJCEPA, there is trade diversion. These bilateral agreements can open the ways for multilateral trade liberalization in the long-run. JEL : F10, F13, F14

To find new anti-UV and whitening agents, 21 fractions isolated from three preparations of ginseng (white, red, and black ginseng) were screened, and their antioxidant effects on AAPH- or H2O2-induced damage were investigated. Furthermore, the protective effect against UV-mediated apoptosis and the tyrosinase inhibitory activity of the targeted fractions were evaluated in vitro and in a zebrafish model. Among all fractions, F10 from white ginseng was selected as having the strongest anti-UV and antimelanogenesis activities. This fraction exhibited excellent inhibitory effects on the pigmentation of zebrafish, which may be due to its potential tyrosinase inhibitory activity. Additionally, the chemical composition of F10 was evaluated by UPLC-MS and NMR instruments. The results indicated that F10 had a carbohydrate content of more than 76%, and the weight-average molecular weight was approximately 239 Da. Disaccharide sucrose was the main active compound in F10. These results suggest that F10 could be used as an ingredient for whitening cosmetics and regarded as an anti-UV filter in the future.

The important role of the thyroid axis in the body's response to various endogenous and exogenous factors is beyond doubt. The data on the effect of tumor growth on the functional activity of the thyroid gland are inconsistent. A modifying effect of chronic neurogenic pain on the biological aggressiveness of transplantable B16/F10 melanoma requires studying the main mechanisms of action. The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of chronic neurogenic pain on the functional activity of the thyroid gland in the dynamics of B16/F10 melanoma growth in male mice. Methods. The comparison group included animals with standard subcutaneous transplantation of B16/F10 melanoma; the main group - mice with B16/F10 melanoma transplanted 2 weeks after the generation of the chronic neurogenic pain model. Levels of total and free forms of thyroid hormones and TSH were determined in thyroid cytosolic fractions by standard ELISA methods. Results. Chronic neurogenic pain increases the levels of free forms of thyroid hormones and total triiodothyronine, but decreases the levels of TSH and total thyroxin in the thyroid, as well as the organ weight coefficient in male mice with transplanted B16/F10 melanoma. Conclusions. Abstract Factor X (F10) deficiency is a rare inherited bleeding disorder with a heterogeneous phenotype and limited therapeutic options. Targeted knockout of F10 and other common pathway factors in mice results in embryonic/neonatal lethality with rapid resorption of homozygous mutants, hampering further studies. Several of these mutants also display yolk sac vascular defects, suggesting a role for thrombin signaling in development. The zebrafish model is characterized by external development, optical transparency, ability to generate thousands of offspring at low cost, and a highly characterized vasculature. We have used these advantages for more in depth study of the role of the coagulation cascade in developmental regulation of hemostasis and vasculogenesis. We generated a 17 base pair deletion in the zebrafish f10 locus by genome editing with TALENs. Although indistinguishable morphologically from f10+/+ and f10+/- siblings at early stages, f10-/- mutants demonstrated progressive lethality between 1 and 5 months of age. Extensive hemorrhage was identified in multiple tissues starting at 3-4 weeks of age, particularly the brain. Notably, intracranial hemorrhage is a common feature in multiple zebrafish mutants with various vascular defects, including anomalies of endothelial differentiation and specification, apoptosis, and vessel integrity/permeability. Gross inspection of f10 mutant embryos and larvae in the first week of life revealed no apparent defects in circulation or vascular development. Expression of arterial and venous endothelial markers were examined by in situ hybridization at 24 and 72 hours post fertilization, the time period during which axial and intersegmental vessels form, along with early establishment of the vascular network. Markers included ephb2a, cdh5, flk1, flt4, and ephb4, and expression patterns were indistinguishable between mutants and wild type siblings. Acridine orange staining at 5 days post fertilization (dpf) did not detect any dysregulation of apoptosis. Hemoglobin staining found no specific hemorrhage in vehicle or warfarin treated mutants. However, 3 dpf f10-/- mutants did not develop occlusive thrombi in response to laser-mediated venous endothelial injury, indicating that F10 is required for hemostasis. We used quantitative PCR to measure transcription of f10 and downstream coagulation factors in 3 dpf larvae. f10 mRNA was undetectable in homozygous mutants, presumably due to nonsense-mediated decay as a consequence of the TALEN-induced frameshift mutation. fga (fibrinogen alpha) and at3 (antithrombin III) mRNAs were increased by 1.8 and 2.3-fold, respectively (p<0.05), when compared to wild type siblings. Prothrombin (f2) mRNA transcription was slightly decreased, although the effect was not statistically significant. In summary, we have produced a zebrafish model of human F10 deficiency that exhibits a spontaneous adult lethal bleeding phenotype, although early embryonic/larval survival is unaffected despite an underlying severe hemostatic defect. Further study of this mutant may identify species specific factors enabling this early survival. qPCR analysis in mutant larvae suggests that the level of F10 mRNA or protein indirectly regulates other coagulation factors during development. We have also used this model to evaluate the longstanding hypothesis that coagulation cascade mediated thrombin signaling is required for embryonic vasculogenesis. Thus far we have not found evidence for defects in vessel development or integrity, apoptosis, or endothelial differentiation/specification. Taken together, these data suggest that the effects of F10 loss are restricted to hemostasis, and thus therapies should continue to be focused on this in deficient patients. Further study as to why mutant embryos and larvae are able to tolerate what would likely cause lethal hemorrhage in mammals, as well as small molecule screens using this model, could potentially lead to innovative therapeutic modalities for patients with bleeding disorders. In order to improve the yield of antimicrobial substances extracted from actinomycetes F10 strains fermentation, antimicrobial activity and cell dry weight were taken as the main indicators, we studied the effects on F10 strain’s biological activity of the different fermentation media, different carbon, nitrogen and other nutrients factor, and the initial pH and other non-nutritional factors. The results showed that the optimum fermentation medium is: yeast extract 0.5%, glucose 1%, KH2PO4 0.1%, NaCl 0.1%, CaCO30.3%, pH natural. Strain F10 optimal fermentation conditions were: initial pH 7.0, fermentation time 168h.

هذه الدراسة استخدمت منهجية بوكس – جينكيز للتنبؤ بصادرات السمسم في السودان، وبعد التحليل والتفاضل عبر الاختبارات المختلفة اتضح أن نموذج ARMA (5,3,5) هو أفضل نموذج لقياس هذه الظاهرة وتم استخدام هذا النموذج للتنبؤ بالصادرات حتى عام 2028، حيث أشارت النتائج إلى أن القيم التنبؤية أصغر من القيم الفعلية حتى عام 2001، وبعد ذلك أصبحت القيم التنبؤية أكبر.

IntroductionThere are no data in literature on mental disorders in HIV-infected patients with syphilis.The objective of the study was to determine the structure of mental disorders in HIV-infected patients with syphilis.MethodSixty-five HIV-infected patients with syphilis were examined by a clinical method.ResultsThe sample included 45 men (average age 32.09 ± 9.83) and 20 women (average age 31.7 ± 5.97). We divided the sample into three comparison groups (according to the importance of risk factors): women, men who have sex with men (MSM), and men who have sex with women (MSW).Mental disorders were identified in most patients (83%). Opiate dependence (F11, ICD-10) was established in 55% of women (7.7% for MSW, 0% in MSM; P < 0.001). The dependence on multiple drug use (F19) was revealed with nearly the same frequency in women (25.0%) and in MSW (23.1%); but far less frequently in MSM (3.2%; P = 0.047). The dependence on stimulants (F15) was found in women (5.0%) and MSM (6.3%). The dependence on alcohol (F10) was more common among MSW (61.5%) and women (50.0%) (9.4% in MSM; P < 0.001). 20% of women had Depressive episode (F32). Adjustment disorders (F43) were found much more often in men (43.8% for MSM; 38.5% for MSW; 10% for women; P = 0.035). Personality disorders (F60) were found in all the groups.ConclusionsWe revealed a high incidence of addictions among women and MSW. Streptomyces are the most popular among the Actinomycetes groups and found in soils worldwide. They form an important part of the soil ecology within the Actinomycetales order. Streptomyces are diverse as secondary antibiotic metabolites such as Novobiocin, Amphotericin, Vancomycin, Neomycin, Gentamicin, Chloramphenicol, Tetracycline, Erythromycin and Nystatin. Thus, the current study was aimed to isolate, identify and assess the active antibiotic metabolites produced by different actinomyces sp. found in Saudi Arabian soils. Six samples were collected from desert soils of the Al Thumamah area and analyzed using GS-MS. Scanning Electron Microscopy was used to identify the bacterial strains along with their antibiotic metabolites effectiveness of secondary metabolites (antibiotics) against different Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus), negative pathogens (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Salmonella suis, and Shigella sonnei) as well as the fungal strain Candida albicans was investigated. Thirty active bacterial (F1-30) strains were isolated from the soil samples and the strains F3, F7, F22, F30 have white, gray, pink, yellow and red colours respectively. Only ten strains (F13, F14, F15, F16, FI7, F18, F19, F20, F21, and F22) were found to have antimicrobial activity against at least one pathogen. The optimum growth environment was pH 4-10, temperature (300C), and NaCl (7% w/v) concentration. According to our findings, the extreme desert environment of Al Thumamah from Saudi Arabia is rich in its actinobacterial population with diverse colouring groups and various physiological and biochemical properties. This shows it’s capability of generating secondary metabolite elements that could inhibit pathogenic microorganisms.

AbstractFour tree ring-index site chronologies, representing standardised annual growth rates for spruce trees growing at high altitude sites in Colorado, have been employed as proxy data in a regression model for the annual variation of solar radio flux at 2800 MHz (F10·7) and the Catania sunspot area (Ac). These dendrochronological time series all exhibit significant power spectrum peaks at about 11 years and separately correlate with the annual values of Rz, F10·7 and Ac, as solar activity indicators. The two models constructed give the cyclic variation of F10·7 and Ac back to AD1673.

A diversidade entre 133 genótipos de pimentão (Capsicum annuum L.), em relação a doze características agronômicas, foi avaliada através de técnicas de análise multivariada (distância D² de Mahalanobis, agrupamento pelo método de Tocher e dispersão em eixos cartesianos). O ensaio foi conduzido no período de 6 de outubro de 1993 a 19 de março de 1994, em condições de campo, no município de Viçosa (MG), em solo Podzólico vermelho-amarelo câmbico. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi blocos completos casualizados, com três repetições, sendo cada parcela composta por seis plantas (2,16 m²). Com a metodologia utilizada foi observada a colocação dos genótipos em quinze grupos. Os genótipos P-141-195-F10, P-142-270-F10, P-141-90-F13, cv. Apolo AG 511 e P-142-222-F13 destacaram-se pela diversidade e elevada produtividade (935 g/planta) e qualidade de frutos (frutos brilhantes, com formato cônico, de coloração verde-escura uniforme e com reduzida presença de deformações), o que os qualifica como promissores para serem utilizados em programas de melhoramento. As características com menor contribuição para a diversidade genética foram produção total de frutos por planta, número de dias para o início do florescimento, índice de concentração da colheita, diâmetro do caule e diâmetro do pedúnculo. As características de maior contribuição foram altura da primeira bifurcação, altura da planta, relação comprimento/largura do fruto e índice de precocidade.
