INTRODUCTION: In orthodontics, determining the facial type is a key element in the prescription of a correct diagnosis. In the early days of our specialty, observation and measurement of craniofacial structures were done directly on the face, in photographs or plaster casts. With the development of radiographic methods, cephalometric analysis replaced the direct facial analysis. Seeking to validate the analysis of facial soft tissues, this work compares two different methods used to determining the facial types, the anthropometric and the cephalometric methods. She also had hypothyroidism, mild intellectual disability, primary amenorrhoea and patent ductus arteriosus. Karyotyping reported normal 46XX karyotype. Genetic testing revealed a pathogenic variant in the gene encoding the HIST1H1E protein w

Resumen
A classification of limb anomalies in oral-facial-digital (OFD) syndromes is offered to help differentiate between the various types of OFD syndromes. A clinical case is presented with clinical features consistent with both OFD syndrome type I (Papillon Leage-Psaume syndrome) and type VI (Váradi syndrome). The final diagnosis as a new mutation of type I syndrome was established after reviewing the radiological findings in the hands.

Facial expressions convey personal characteristics and subtle emotional states. This paper presents a new framework for modeling subtle facial motions of different people with different types of expressions from high-resolution facial expression tracking data to synthesize new stylized subtle facial expressions. A conceptual facial motion manifold is used for a unified representation of facial motion dynamics from three-dimensional (3D) high-resolution facial motions as well as from two-dimensional (2D) low-resolution facial motions. Variant subtle facial motions in different people with diffe

Objective. Anthropometric data of the nasofacial dimensions is vital in nasofacial surgery, forensics medicine, and diagnostic comprehension. Nasofacial anthropometry is “ethnic sensitive” and has distinct sexual dimorphism. This study is aimed to observe the variations of length and width of face and nose among university students of three races in Ipoh, Malaysia. Material and Method. A cross-sectional study was done on 200 college students aged between 18 and 21 years, using convenient sampling method. The facial length and width and nasal length and width were measured. The data were analys

Object. The aim of this study was to discuss posterior petrous meningiomas—their classification, clinical manifestations, surgical treatments, and patient outcomes. Methods. A retrospective analysis was performed in 82 patients with posterior petrous meningiomas for microsurgery. According to the anatomical relationship with the posterior surface of the petrous bone and with special reference to the internal auditory canal (IAC), posterior petrous meningiomas were classified into three types: Type I, located laterally to the IAC (28 cases); Type II, located medially to the IAC, which might ext
