Resumen
Abstract Guanaja is an island municipality of Honduras located approximately 70 miles from its parent island . Of the country’s three main island municipalities, it is the second largest. The central municipality of Guanaja is located less than half of a mile from the coast of Guanaja and is a 100-acre floating island city built over two smaller cays which consists of densely compacted, stilt-built homes and houses approximately 3,000 people. It is estimated that 6.6% of the total population are over the age of 65. The current body of both spatial and social exclusion research considers environmental conditions may act in ways which may restrict or deny access or choices for aging inhabitants. Due to its remote geographic location, the island of Guanaja reflects key risk factor for age-related social and spatial exclusion. Framed by two social exclusion frameworks, this study, which was the cornerstone of this author’s dissertation, presents the reality of island aging among Guanajan residents as relayed by them during this focused ethnographic study. The results of this work will describe the influences on Guanajan aging from factors including geographic environment and location, neighborhood and community, civic engagement and participation, social relationships, material and financial resources, socio-cultural practices, and governmental policies and practices.

Resumen
Stilton, Geronimo. The Treasure of Easter Island. New York: Scholastic, 2013. Print. What happens in the book is Geronimo's sister Thea went to Easter Island to look for treasure on it. She got captured by pirates. Thea, one of the characters, met Professor Von Dusty Fur, he is an archaeologist who specializes in ancient treasure. Then Geronimo and his friends, Wild Willy and Susie Shutter mouse, trap his cousin. They all fell down a hole and landed right under the Rano Kau Volcano. After a pirate took them out of their cage then tied them up behind crates full of gold coins. I like to read this book because it has a sense of adventure and fun. Treasure Island would be a fun place to go to some day and explore. I rate this book as a 5 out of 5. Highly recommended: 5 out of 5 stars Reviewer: JoshuaMy name is Joshua and what I like to read is fictional books. Some books I like to read are by Geronimo Stilton or the book Spirit Animals. I enjoy reading because I can keep my mind busy and it is fun reading about stories that could be true but aren't.

Resumen
Stilton, Geronimo, Lidia M. Tramontozzi, and Elisabetta Dami. The Search for Treasure: The Sixth Adventure in the Kingdom of Fantasy. New York, NY: Scholastic Inc., 2014. Print. In this book, he was in his office working and his friend came to come and get him for a race. They got to the race, a boating race but it was storming. Geronimo had to go to the fairyland to tell the princess a secret. I am almost at the secret and I’ll tell you when I get there. There is nothing I don’t like about Geronimo Stilton books. I think there is looks of detail. And if I could live anywhere it would be in mouse city. I would be a mouse and not a rat. I like when there is lots of BIG LETTERS spelled out, meaning the characters are screaming or hyperbole. I would rate the books as the best book series and give it 5 stars. Highly Recommended: 5 out of 5 starsReviewer: AutumnMy name is Autumn. The books I love most by Geronimo are his adventures and Mystery books. My favorite books by Geronimo Stilton is the search for treasure. I don’t like lots of books so when I read I have to think if I like it or not or if I should put it down but when I see a Geronimo Stilton I read the whole thing. Also like the book the destiny of the phoenix cause it had lots of detail. I like when they go to the fairy land and see all the fairies they have lots of trolls and stuff like that and colors.

Resumen
Slipperjack, Ruby. Dear Canada: These Are My Words: The Residential School Diary of Violet Pesheens. Toronto: Scholastic, 2016. Print. The book I chose to review is "Dear Canada, These Are My Words". It is the story about an Aboriginal girl named Violet Pesheens and her experience going to a residential school. Violet writes about events that happened to her while she went to a residential school, such as the cutting of her hair, changing her clothes and being given a number (75) which was how she was identified. I would recommend to all ages if you like non fiction books and because it's a very interesting. I would rate this book five stars. Highly recommended: 5 out of 5 stars Reviewer: ShantiTansi, my name is Shanti and I only like to read books that connect to me. My favorite types of books are Dear Canada and Geronimo Stilton. I am also a fancy dancer and a Plains Cree speaker.

Resumen
This article presents the results of a study that examined the interest and influence of gender of students studying in International schools in Sri Lanka on reading. The objectives of this study was to find the nature of reading interest of the primary school children and to examine whether it differ by gender. The sample was selected from three International schools in Colombo district. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed with Chi-square test. Findings indicated that, boys preferred comic books and the girls opted to picture books. Reading Newspapers and web pages are not popular among students, despite computer was much preferred in the past. This could indicate that children prefer to read a book. Where genres are concerned, Mystery & Adventure and Fantasy are the selection of the majority. Both these fall into the fiction category which was confirmed by previous researches. Since a vast majority of the sample showed preference for series books as well as comic books, it can be concluded that books from the Wimpy Kid and the Geronimo Stilton series can be used in order to encourage and motivate young readers by making reading an enjoyable activity.

Resumen
Children literature has developed remarkably during the last decade despite being a genre traditionally considered as minor in comparison to general literature. On the contrary, it represents a highly significant cultural, literary and commercial phenomenon. Content is not the only important factor of this literary genre: in fact, language plays a fundamental role in the development of the child. However, it has been understudied, especially regarding the recently published works. The present work has been conducted on a corpus of 16 novels published from 2000 to 2016, and this could be regarded as a representative sample of the most successful Italian children book series: Geronimo Stilton. The main objective is to study the language designed for present-time children, the so-called “digital natives”, and identify its fundamental features which are different from the language employed in different textual genres. The study has been divided into two parts. The first part is a study of the Italian market whose target is children literature published since 2000 and is dealt with in the first two chapters. The first chapter is an analysis of the aspects of contemporary Italian literature for children in its new definitions, themes, phenomena and diffusion of fantasy as a literary genre. The second chapter is a thorough examination of the Geronimo Stilton literary case: the reasons behind its success, the philosophy of using a mouse as a protagonist and how its story develops in several series. The second part includes a linguistic analysis of the lexical, morphological and syntactical levels of the strategies employed by Stilton’s staff and how these are significant in attracting young readers. It is divided into two chapters: the first is dedicated to adventure novels of different kinds that address children aged between 6 and 9, while the second is dedicated to the spinoff series that address pre-adolesecents aged between 10 and 13. The findings show that the language in Stilton’s books provides a dynamic portrait of standard Italian that is accessible, creative and involving, though not oversimplified. Key words: Children’s literature, Geronimo Stilton, Italian for children, Italian linguistics, standard Italian, seriality
