Caceres, Natalia. "Grammaire fonctionnelle-typologique du ye'kwana : langue caribe du Venezuela". Thesis, Lyon 2, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011LYO20089.
Texto completoThis dissertation is a grammatical description of Ye'kwana, a language of oral tradition of the Cariban family spoken in Venezuela and Brazil by less than 7.000 speakers. The language variety studied in this work is spoken in the Caura bassin, in Venezuela. This study is based on primary data obtained among 59 speakers thanks to a documentation project and 15 months of fieldwork, in particular in two traditional villages. The analysis was conducted within a functional-typological approach and within the context of endangered languages. The dissertation starts with a sociolinguistic profile of the language. Then the linguistic topics covered in the dissertation include the phonology and verbal, nominal and adverbial morphology. Special attention is given to the topics of tense-aspect-mood (TAM) and person cross-reference. A chapter is dedicated to the adverbial and postpositional lexicon related to space. Also included are some elements of syntax, particularly non verbal predication and subordination. The annexes provide six texts, glossed and translated, extracted from a larger database within the frame of the documentation. One of the remarkable typological characteristics of the language pertains to the diversity of main clause alignment patterns. Indeed, there is a dominant split/intransitive-hierarchically organized alignment type, an innovative imperfective construction ergatively aligned and three auxiliarized constructions presenting a mixed pattern of nominative absolutive alignment
Nedjar, Bahmani. "Grammaire fonctionnelle de l'arabe du coran : inventaire des classes et syntaxes". Paris 5, 1986. http://www.theses.fr/1986PA05H008.
Texto completoThe author describes the Arabic language of the Koran, according to the principles of André Martinet's functional grammar. For lack of space this description contains only an inventory of classes and a succinct syntax with the exception of the synthematic analysis. The inventory presents the list of the isolated classes and analyses the constant relations between the classes, whereas the syntax examinates the variable relations between the classes, these relations being the grammatical functions. Inventory: a special chapter is devoted to each class of monemes. Under heading of identification and units the eventual possibility is indicated for the monemes of the considered class to act as predicate; then the compatibilities of these monemes are reviewed, successively as kernels, points of incidence, then as determinants. Finally there is the list of the units which compose this class. Under the heading of morphology the variations of the significants of the monemes and the conditioning of these variations are examinated. These are divided in free variants and in variants conditioned by the context. Under the heading of axiology the values of the units of the considered class are examinated in opposition to each other, if this class is grammatical, i. E. Of a limited inventory. Syntax: under the heading of identification and units the mark or the marks of the considered function are studied, under the heading of morphology the variations of these marks and their conditioning, and under the heading of axiology the value or the value of the considered function

Texto completoThis work is divided into two chapters. In the first one, we establish a distinction between the notion of causation, the fact that some one or something brings it about that a state of affairs obtains, and tht of causality, specifying that everything has got a cause. Then, we account for the some tretments of causative structures within the contemporary linguistic theories. In the second chapter, we first present the theory of functional grammar of simon c. Dik. The syntactic and semantic components of this theory are part of the pragmatics framework. Thus functional grammar does not restraint the notion of grammar in isolated sentences, but is shows that thos sentences may take place in coherent context. Second, thanks to the effect detachment test, we show that it is necessary to establish a distinction between causatives and similar structures as requestives and permissives. Third, we analyse the question of causative predicates formation, before studying the three types of causatives. We end this chapter by studying the illocutionary force and the ordre of constituents. In the conclusion, we justify our choice of functional grammar

Chen, Zhe. "The control system in formal language theory and the model monitoring approach for reliability and safety". Thesis, Toulouse, INSA, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010ISAT0014/document.
Texto completoThis thesis contributes to the study of reliability and safety of computer and software systems which are modeled as discrete event systems. The major contributions include the theory of Control Systems (C Systems) and the model monitoring approach. In the first part of the thesis, we study the theory of control systems which combines and significantly extends regulated rewriting in formal languages theory and supervisory control. The control system is a generic framework, and contains two components: the controlled component and the controlling component that restricts the behavior of the controlled component. The two components are expressed using the same formalism, e.g., automata or grammars. We consider various classes of control systems based on different formalisms, for example, automaton control systems, grammar control systems, and their infinite versions and concurrent variants. After that, an application of the theory is presented. The Büchi automata based control system is used to model and check correctness properties on execution traces specified by nevertrace claims. In the second part of the thesis, we investigate the model monitoring approach whose theoretical foundation is the theory of control systems. The key principle of the approach is “property specifications as controllers”. In other words, the functional requirements and property specification of a system are separately modeled and implemented, and the latter one controls the behavior of the former one. The model monitoring approach contains two alternative techniques, namely model monitoring and model generating. The approach can be applied in several ways to improve reliability and safety of various classes of systems. We present some typical applications to show its strong power. First, the approach provides better support for the change and evolution of property specifications. Second, it provides the theoretical foundation of safety-related systems in the standard IEC 61508 for ensuring the functional validity. Third, it is used to formalize and check guidelines and consistency rules of UML.These results lay out the foundations for further study of more advanced control mechanisms, and provide a new way for ensuring reliability and safety

Texto completoThe present study is composed of 6 chpters : the first 3 are devoted to the examination of the local sense of french prepositions before the substantives concerning the place. We limite the analysis object of this work to 154 basic substantives meaning rooms, buildings, public establishments, nature's parts, ways and administrative divisions. The system of prepositions is traongly influenced by the determiner's category and the addition of the attributive adjective or prepositional complement that can enforce a or en against dans. However, the substantive in question is the most important factor and restrict utilized preposition(s). When several prepositions are possible, we must make much of the meaning of predicate. We indicate the percentage of earch preposition : dans 46. 5, a 29. 9, sur 13. 0, en 6. 4, par 2. 3, sous 1. 1, etc. . . In the chapters 4 and 5, our analysis gets on to the japanese "joshi" (postposition, fonctional particle). The case postpositions wo, ni, e, de signify respectively : wo - place of passage, ni - place of existence, ni. E - direction, point of arrival. De - place of action, spatial frame. The relational postposition wa is used for thematise the the place in question and for specify the relation theme - rheme : the utterance strategy of the japanese speaker consists in developing his argument skillfully with the combination of the known (theme) and the unknown (rheme). In the lastchapter, we compare the two systems in three aspects

Texto completoThis dissertation support a synthesis of already accomplished works at the laboratory LaLIC(Languages, Linguistics, Informatics, Cognition) ; it emphasizes the articulation among different concepts, centered onthe notion of referential. My thesis forms a part of a chain where some rendered concepts are deepened more and moreoperatively. My work supports the works about the tense and the aspect of E. Benveniste, A. Culioli and J.-P. Desclés, inparticular, it is in line with the development of the theorization about the tense and the aspect proceeded by J.-P. Desclésand Z. Guentchéva. In this approach, there are five types of important concepts:1) Three basic aspectual notions constituent of a process (situation): state, process, event;2) Aspectualisation of a process (situation) on a topological interval of instants;3) Conceptualized enunciation as imperfective process;4) Reference by identification, differentiation and rupture;5) Recognition of different referentials. Some concepts are already received rigorous formalizations. Over the analyses being increasingly diversified, the notionof referential becomes more and more important in the theoretical plan and in the associated descriptions. It wasdemanded to me to improve the specification of this notion of referential while I proposed a formalized approach thatwould admit the computing treatments later. I put this notion within the theoretical framework of the temporality whichapprehended by the languages while arguing its introduction and while formalizing their concepts. To better perceive theoperative character of the formalized concepts, it was their translations in the computer language which enables to provetheir effectively operative characters and to dispose the solid link oriented towards an operational utilization of thelinguistic analyses that we propose
Issa, Homam. "Contributions à la conception de produits configurables dans les systèmes avancés de CAO". Thesis, Belfort-Montbéliard, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015BELF0282/document.
Texto completoProduct design is switching to the multi-site distributed design. Indeed, the complexity of products with engineeringand economic constraints have accelerated the transformation and organization of design activities into serviceorientedin a distributed network. So, design for product configuration emerges as an effective tool to address thenew challenges of product design. Many researches on design for configuration consider the design problem only asa problem of arrangement of components. Indeed, the design process involves multi-trades, distribution of tradesand actors, and interaction in a dynamic and uncertain environment. Moreover, we believe that the internal structureof the design process is a homomorphic image of the product perceived discontinuities. Considering the space ofthe design for the configuration as multi-views, multi-dimensional and uncertain, this thesis focuses on the study ofdesign for the configuration as a holistic problem. We proposed to study: (1) understand and model design for configuration as a consensus-building problem betweendifferent trades; (2) understand and model the relationships within and between domains considering the design forconfiguration as a holistic problem; (3) formalize the generative grammars for product modeling in two main spaces:functional and structural and (4) model the links between these two spaces with the concept of design holon. Fromthese considerations, we establish the most important assumptions of our research: (a) Assumption of multi-view;(b) Assumption of fuzzy; (c) Assumption of derivation; (d) Holistic assumption and (e) Assumption of attractor. We have described a design model for configuration wherein the optimization aspects of configurations andsearching of configurations cores are integrated. Moreover, we proposed fuzzy graphs functional grammars andformal fuzzy functional grammars to represent formally and graphically the functional structures of product. We alsoproposed an approach of holonic modeling for configurations. The concepts of Fuzzy Design Holon and FuzzyAttractor are proposed to understand the co-evolution in design for configuration. We studied an industrial case ofdesign for configuration using modules of a power train
Hamilton, Clive. "Cartographie des erreurs en anglais L2 : vers une typologie intégrant système et texte". Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015USPCA150.
Texto completoThe main objective of this study is to try and pinpoint the frontier between grammatical (or sentence-level) errors on the one hand and textual errors on the other in university student essays. Accordingly, a corpus of English L2 learner texts, written by French learners, was collected and annotated using several annotation schemes. The first annotation scheme used is based on a model from the UAM CorpusTool software package, which provided us with an integrated error taxonomy. The annotations obtained were then cross-analyzed using the semantic metafunctions identified in systemic functional linguistics. In addition to providing statistics in terms of specific error frequency, our cross analysis has identified some areas that appear to pose particularly difficult problems, i.e. phraseology, and certain semantic and textual constructions. A classification of what we have called textual acceptability errors has thus been established. In short, the thesis begins with an examination of conceptual issues and ends with the proposal for an explanatory model that can describe erroneous occurrences identified in a foreign language – whether they are grammatical (i.e., linked to the language system itself) or textual (i.e. linked to the text) in nature

Texto completoThis thesis is in the field of research on foreign language acquisition. It aims to study the acquisition of the expression of hypothesis in two groups of learners: French speakers learning Portuguese, the Brazilian variety, and Portuguese speakers (Brazilians) learning French. Our research focuses in particular on the means of expression most used to express a virtual causal relationship (what we'll call the hypothesis) in L1 and in two different levels of L2. The data are examined from a formal and functional perspective, based on a functionalist method. We are interested in the role of the mother tongue in the acquisition of hypothesis expression in the target language. Oral data were collected from 90 participants, 45 French and 45 Brazilian. For each language, we had a control group, a less advanced group (CEFR B1) and a more advanced group (CEFR C1). A pseudo-longitudinal (oral) corpus was used to record the progressive development of hypothesis expression in L2. The results of the analyses not only facilitate the comparative study of learners at different levels in two different languages, but also their confrontation with learners from other research carried out in different source and target languages. The main aim is to highlight ongoing phenomena in the acquisition of hypothesis expression in L2
Fatello, Fabienne. "Les emplois de "quando" dans différents genres textuels du latin préclassique au latin postclassique". Thesis, Université Clermont Auvergne (2017-2020), 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018CLFAL002.
Texto completoThis corpus-based study analyses the use of quando (quandoque, quandoquidem, quandocumque) in different textual genres from Early to Postclassical Latin. From the Bibliotheca Teubneriana Latina CD-ROM (BTL-4) we have listed the instances of quando in Plaute’s Comedies, Cicero’s Discourses, Lucretius’ De rerum natura, Livy’s History of Rome and Seneca’s Moral Essays. Quando can be used as an interrogative, indefinite and relative adverb or as a temporal or causal conjunction. But the classification of these different uses is not possible without a macro-syntactic approach that combines morpho-syntactic, semantic and enunciative points of view. First, the study of this multifunctional term raises the question of its integration in the sentence structure. Thus the functional interference of its use as a relative adverb and as a temporal conjunction shows that the frontiers between syntactical functions are malleable. Furthermore, the semantic ambiguity invites us to extend the analyses to the contextual inferences to distinguish for instance its temporal and causal use. Moreover we cannot analyse the use of quando without considering its illocutionary force: for instance the questions introduced by quando perform a great variety of speech acts which reveal certain characteristics of the literary genre. Finally, the methods of Functional Grammar are necessary to study the level quando affects in the sentence structure, as the causal subordinate clause provides information on the interpersonal level and can be considered as a disjunct satellite. In the light of these considerations, it is evident that an eclectic approach is necessary to study the use of quando: only different linguistic approaches, combining the morpho-syntactic, semantic and enunciative point of view in an empirical description of its occurrences, can define the value of the different uses of quando. Thus the significance of this study resides in the multifunctionality of quando which allows us to consider a large variety of linguistic and extra-linguistic problems occurring not only at multiple levels of the sentence structure, but extended even to the larger context of the speech interaction and intimately linked to the authors writing techniques and the speakers discursive intentions
Amavi, Joshua. "Comparaison et évolution de schémas XML". Thesis, Orléans, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014ORLE2053/document.
Texto completoXML has become the de facto format for data exchange. We aim at establishing a multi-system environment where some local original systems work in harmony with a global integrated system, which is a conservative evolution of local ones. Data exchange is possible in both directions, allowing activities on both levels. For this purpose, we need schema mapping whose is to ensure schema evolution, and to guide the construction of a document translator, allowing automatic data adaptation wrt type evolution. We propose a set of tools to help dealing with XML database evolution. These tools are used : (i) to compute a mapping capable of obtaining a global schema which is a conservative extension of original local schemas, and to adapt XML documents ; (ii) to compute the set of integrity constraints for the global system on the basis of the local ones ; (iii) to compare XML types of two systems in order to replace a system by another one ; (iv) to correct a new document with respect to an XML schema. Experimental results are discussed, showing the efficiency of our methods in many situations
Hu, Po. "La Poly-divergence en branches - Le modèle essentiel d’évolution grammaticale dans le chinois archaïque". Thesis, Paris, INALCO, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019INAL0027.
Texto completoThis dissertation examines the universal phenomenon of poly-divergence in archaic Chinese with five subtypes: the polygrammaticalization with the case of huò 或; the polylexicalization and the hybridization of these two with the case of rán 然; the poly-divergence under the influence of cult-culture-philosophical with the case of yī 一; the poly-divergence of the multifunctional structure with the case of "Reference + Comment"; the poly-divergence of the phrase with the case of "numeral +month". These divergences have the effect of reducing and avoiding the opacity caused by the non-obligatory usage of function word or the lack of exclusive function word. And these types of poly-divergence in Chinese are realized through mechanisms that are distinct from those of Western languages. Finally, a conclusion is drawn and it is argued that the poly-divergence is the essential model of evolution in archaic Chinese
Riou, Marine. "The grammar of topic transition in American English conversation. Topic transition design and management in typical and atypical conversations (schizophrenia)". Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015USPCA115/document.
Texto completoThe research presented in this dissertation analyzes topic transition in American English interaction, focusing on audio recordings of spontaneous conversations between friends and relatives. The main object of inquiry is the interactional action of transitioning to a new discourse topic, as well as the different linguistic strategies that participants have at their disposal. Three main types of cues are investigated: questions, discourse markers, and pitch register. Each type of cue is analyzed for its individual contribution to topic transition design, as well as for the way it can combine with, supplement, or contradict other cues. Analyzing different types of cues – verbal and prosodic – creates a composite picture of the various ways in which the topic trajectory of a conversation shapes its grammar – including its prosody. This study uses a mixed-methods approach which draws on the qualitative-oriented theoretical frameworks of Conversation Analysis and Interactional Linguistics, combining them with quantitative methods used in Corpus Linguistics, such as systematic coding and statistics. This multi-domain account is completed by elaborating a comparison between typical and atypical interactions. Persons suffering from schizophrenia can experience difficulties in managing the topics of a conversation, and they can produce non-canonical transitions. Comparing their data with that of typical participants thus sheds light on some of the expectations, preferences and standard formats which can otherwise remain hidden when topic transition goes smoothly
