Resumen
During phase transformation of steels, when stress is applied, significant large strain can be observed even though the applied stress is smaller than their yield stresses. This phenomenon is called Transformation Plasticity or TRansformation Induced Plasticity (TRIP). Transformation plasticity is known to play an important role during steel producing processes. Although its importance, the phenomenon is not fully understood because of complicated coupled effect of metallurgical, thermal and mechanical behaviour during phase transformation. There are several explanations which account for the

Residual stresses in welded joints must be quantified in order to carry out structural integrity assessments on critical nuclear components. This usually requires the application of finite element models for components with wall thicknesses exceeding 50 mm. In ferritic steels, the development of residual stresses is made more complex by the strains associated with the solid-state phase transformations that occur during heating and cooling. Finite element models often do not account for factors that contribute to anisotropy in the transformation strains, such as Greenwood-Johnson plasticity and

Resumen
This study addresses the task of predicting the transformation plasticity induced during pha-se transformation of the 16MND5 carbon steel from austenite to bainite under low externally applied stress using a semi-theoretical model based on the Greenwood-Johnson mechanism. Both models proposed by Leblond et al. (1989) and Taleb and Sidoroff (2003) sufficiently describe the evolution of the TRansformation Induced Plasticity (TRIP) during continuous cooling of the austenitic phase. Nevertheless, TRIP values predicted by these models unde-restimate measured data through the first half of the trans

Abstract The surface of the coating or substrate structure has a rough topological structure over multiple scales, which significantly affects the actual contact area and adhesion strength. In order to investigate potential interferences during the test mass (TM) release process of the locking and release mechanism in TianQin space-borne gravitational wave detection project, an analytical model of the Johnson-Kendall-Roberts (JKR) adhesive contact with coating roughness between the TM and the release tip (RT) has been developed. This work presents the integration of the JKR theory with the Gre

Introduction The dark silhouette of Batman (Robert Pattinson) emerges from the shadows on a rainy night, confronting a gang at a train station. One of their members asks, “what the hell are you supposed to be?”, before moving to attack. Batman quickly disarms the gang member, but in contrast to many of the character’s incarnations – on the screen and the comic book page – who would knock the criminal out before moving on, this Batman pummels the gang member even after he’s been knocked to the ground. With a throaty growl Batman responds, “I’m vengeance”, then proceeds to violently assault the
