Objectives: The use of herbal medicine continues to grow worldwide in all fields including dentistry. The constant use of chemical products in the root canal treatment process has prompted researchers to look for herbal alternatives due to the side effects and the relatively high resistant microbial strains available in the root canal that can contribute to the refractory infection. Therefore, the aim of this narrative review is to evaluate the effectiveness of using selected herbal extracts in disinfecting the root canals and removing the smear layer of the endodontically treated teeth. AbstractMycotoxins are toxic mycological products that when consumed, absorbed or inhaled cause sickness or even the death of humans. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the contamination levels of mycotoxins (aflatoxins, AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, AFG2, and ochratoxin A, OTA) in selected medicinal herbs and shrubs using thin‐layer chromatography (TLC) and high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). A total of 15 samples of medicinal herbs and shrubs were selected. Among them, four samples were aflatoxin contaminated while two samples were ochratoxin A contaminated. The highest level of a

Background: Peganum harmala L. is a medicinal herbal plant widely used in traditional medicine in various countries especially in Algeria. The aim of this study was to carry out the extraction of P. harmala seeds and to evaluate the antioxidant and antihemolytic potentials of 100 mg/kg methanol extract in plasma, blood and liver of Swiss albino mice. Methods: The antioxidant capacity of the plasma samples was performed using free radical scavenging (DPPH assay) and reducing power activities. However the antihemolytic effect of methanol extract was measured in blood inducing by tBH. The biomark

Background: Since the COVID-19 outbreak in early 2020, researchers and studies are continuing to find drugs and/or vaccines against the disease. As shown before, medicinal plants can be very good sources against viruses because of their secondary compounds which may cure diseases and help in survival of patients. Aims: In the present study, we test and suggest the inhibitory potential of five herbal based extracts including 7α-acetoxyroyleanone, Curzerene, Incensole, Harmaline, and Cannabidiol with antivirus activity on the models of the significant antiviral targets for COVID-19 like spike gl
