I Ching has been studied in various fields. However, the scripture of I Ching itself and its associated <the study of I(易)> should be distinguished. The interpretation of the 64 Hexagrams and 384 lines in the scripture of I Ching itself is about the political situation. This paper is an attempt to analyze the contents of the 64 Hexagrams and 384 lines in the scripture of I Ching itself from a political perspective, focusing on I chuan(易傳) of Cheng-Yi(程頤). I Ching interpreted by Cheng-Yi(程頤) has no choice but to be interpreted in the context of the situation and times of the aristocrats at that time. In other words, its interpretation involves the problem consciousness and understanding of the aristocrats and is closely related to the socio-political situation. The purpose of this paper is to reveal how the 64 Hexagrams and 384 lines in the scripture of I Ching itself can be interpreted in specific socio-political situations. The socio-political situation and historical trend revealed in I Ching can be divided into The peaceful times(治世) and the turbulent times(亂世), and during the peaceful times, the aristocrats come out to the world, do their own deeds, and during the turbulent times hide themselves in seclusion. First of all It analyzes the advance and retreat of the aristocrats in the peaceful times. Cheng-Yi(程頤) describes the 64 Hexagrams in I Ching as the rise and fall of human history and dynasties. In the midst of these changes in rise and fall, the problem of the advance and retreat of the aristocracy, that is, behavior, is being discussed. In Cheng-Yi(程頤), I Ching served as a practical guide for the aristocrats in political situations.

The fern species Polystichum polyodon Ching (1936: 93) of Dryopteridaceae is endemic to North East India (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya) and expected to occur in Myanmar and South West China (Ebihara et al. 2012). Wallich (1832) first named it as Polypodium polyodon Wallich (1832: 241) nom. nud.; Christensen (1906: 555; 1930) considered it as synonym of Polystichum hookerianum (Presl 1836: 77) Christensen (1906: 582). Ching (1936) separated it as P. polyodon and recently Ebihara et al. (2012: 119) placed it in Phanerophlebiopsis Ching (1965: 115) as Phanerophlebiopsis polyodon (Ching) Fraser-Jenk. in Ebhara et al. (2012: 119) due to its long narrower pinnae and sori in more than one row.

Resumen
With the deepening communication between the East and the West. Taoism, a domestic religion in China, has also been introduced into the Western world. In particular the masterpiece of Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching, has affected numerous readers. There is a huge gap between Western binary opposition and the Eastern philosophy contained in Taoism. Caused by such a mentality, the misunderstanding of American literature on Tao Te Ching and Taoism is ubiquitous. This paper mainly analyzes the introduction and translation of Tao Te Ching in America, the misinterpretation and acceptance of the theory of Lao Tzu and the influence of Taoism on American writers, poets and Chinese-born American writers. Taoism has been greatly promoted and accepted in America with the help of these scholars and works.

Resumen
Tao Te Ching sacred text, written in China around 600 BC, recommends cultivating non-action by observing the nature of the world. Tao Te Ching first articulated the idea of Wu Wei which means do that which consists in taking no action and order will prevail. The text explains the idea that we should stop trying to force action and get comfortable doing less. Taoism is widely understood to be a single (unity), unitary philosophy, social movement, and natural act. Then, when we do move, our actions are natural and energetic. It can be summarized that Taoist principles are inaction or non-action, simplicity, and living in harmony with nature then everything accomplished the desired result. Tao Te Ching delivered a treatise on how to live in the world with goodness and integrity. Perhaps if we were more aware, we would worry less and could see better what actually needs doing. Therefore, Tao Te Ching reminds us that everyone has a choice to practice self-awareness and exercise their own power in and over the world for a present peaceful life.

Resumen
Imagology is concerned with how identity and image are gradually formed, spread, strengthened and even shaped in a specific social and historical space. Translation is one of the important means and carriers of image construction and shaping. As a classic work of Taoism, Tao Te Ching contains infinite images of China. The English version of Tao Te Ching, translated by Chinese Sinologist D. C. Lau, is among the top 10 best-sellers on Amazon in the United States and has been widely praised by readers. D. C. Lau’s English translation of Tao Te Ching introduced Chinese Taoism to the West, and at the same time constructed an objective and true image of ancient China. Taking the English version of Tao Te Ching translated by D. C. Lau as an example, this paper analyzes the construction of China’s image in the English translation of Chinese classics from the perspective of Imagology on the level of intrinsic textual analysis. It is found that D.C. Lau’s translation constructed objective and true China’s image. Through his translation, a relatively serious, solemn and orthodox Chinese image, the ancient Chinese people’s wise image, ancient Chinese image of filial piety and fraternal kindness as well as the image of eagerness of peace and pursuit of harmonious and equal relationship between countries were re-presented.

Resumen
In January 1932 Wang Ching-wei and Chiang Kai-shek came to an agreement and formed a joint leadership in the Kuomintang (KMT) Government. The alliance between the two men lasted until December 1938 when Wang defected to the Japanese side during the Sino-Japanese War. Chinese historians often term this period as the era of ‘Wang-Chiang cooperation’ (Wang Chiang ho-tso). In fact, this was not the first time when these two men came to ally with each other in the party. The first time when Wang and Chiang formed a joint leadership was in August 1925 after the assassination of Liao Chung-k'ai. The death of Liao at that time had great repercussions throughout the party and both Wang and Chiang eventually emerged as the beneficiaries in the ensuing power struggle; for a time they jointly ruled the party. However, this alliance did not last long. The outbreak of the March Twentieth Incident in 1926 made Wang Ching-wei decide to let Chiang have his way and he later led a self-imposed exiled life in Europe. It was not until April 1927 when the KMT was seriously divided on the communist issue that Wang went back to China. Immediately after that was a split in the party with Wuhan and Nanking as the two rival centres, each of which claimed to be the legitimate Party Central. Wang and Chiang respectively became the leaders of these two Party Centrals.

Resumen
This study aims to examine the features of China English in the translation of Chinese classics by comparing two versions of Tao Te Ching based on corpus data. Of the two English versions, one was translated by a well-known Chinese translator—Xu Yuanchong, and the other was translated by an American sinologist—Arthur Waley. This study found that Xu’s translation indicates more features of China English compared with Waley’s translation according to three major aspects. First, Xu’s translation is more concise, employing fewer words to translate Tao Te Ching. Second, Xu’s version features fewer clauses and more clear sentences. Third, the paratactic nature of China English is reflected in Xu’s translation, which has more content words and less cohesiveness. This study reveals the characteristics of China English in translation texts and partly fills the research gaps regarding the quantitative research in this field.

As the largest finished floristic project, the Flora of China documents 31,362 species of vascular plants, of which 2,129 species are ferns and lycophytes (Lin et al. 2013, Wu et al. 2013, Zhang & Gilbert 2015). While working on a revision of the fern genus Ctenitis C.Christensen (Dryopteridaceae; Smith et al. 2006, Liu et al. 2007, Zhang et al. 2013) in the Old World, we happened to find that two unrelated names published in a same article by Ching & Liu (1984), Ctenitis jinfoshanensis Ching & Z.Y. Liu and Lepisorus simulans Ching & Z.Y. Liu (Polypodiaceae), were not validly published, because two gatherings were designated as types for each name (Art. 40.2; McNeill et al. 2012). In fact, the type designations of each name were conducted twice in Latin and Chinese by the authors, respectively, and each time a different gathering was designated as type. Here we validate the two names by choosing one gathering as the type for each name.

The Nü-hsiao Ching (The Classic on Filial Piety for Women) has been influential in the lives of many Chinese women in late dynastic China. This paper analyses it by beginning with an examination of the indeterminacy of its origins and a description of its presumed historical context. The woman's classic is then compared, in structure and content, with the Han treatise on filial piety, the Hsiao Ching (The Classic on Filial Piety). Finally, the paper considers the importance of class in the formulation of the specific obligations and responsibilities implicit within the objectives of self-cultivation.

Resumen
As a cultural dialogue, translation has two main ways: foreignization or domestication. These two translation methods are also reflected in the Indonesian translations of the Tao Te Ching. This paper attempts to analyze the performance of these two translation methods in nine books of Indonesian Tao Te Ching translations, including the title of the book and the main philosophical terms (Dao, De, Ziran, Wuwei). This is a qualitative descriptive study, with literature survey as the main method of data collection. The results show that the tension between the two translation methods in the nine versions of Indonesian translations of the Tao Te Ching are different, reflecting a complex phenomenon. Translation of the title of the book, mostly used combination between foreignization and domestication strategies, kept the book name Tao Te Ching and subtitles that expressed what kind of book was the Tao Te Ching in the translator’s mind. The translations of Dao had a trend of foreignization, while the translations of De were exactly the opposite. The translations of Ziran mostly used domestication strategy, and the translations of Wuwei had a trend of foreignization in some newest translations. Keywords: foreignization, domestication, Indonesian translations, Tao Te Ching STRATEGI FOREIGNISASI DAN DOMESTIKASI DALAM TEKS-TEKS TERJEMAHAN TAO TE CHING BERBAHASA INDONESIA AbstrakSebagai suatu bentuk dialog antarkultur, penerjemahan terutama memunyai dua cara, yakni foreignisasi dan domestikasi.

The three publishing houses of Wen-wu in Peking, Shanghai shu-tien, and Ku-chi in Tientsin joined forces to produce a new edition of the Taoist Canon. The Tao-tsang they published in 1988 is meant to be an improvement on the so-called Cheng-t'ung Tao-tsang printed in 1921–23 by the Han-fen lou branch of Shanghai Commercial Press. The latter takes as its foundation the copy of the Ming Canon from the archives of the Pai-yün Kuan (White Cloud Abbey) in Peking. The woodcut edition of the Ming Canon contains two components. The core collection appeared under the title Ta Ming Tao-tsang ching in the years 1444–45 of the Cheng-t'ung reign period. A small supplement entitled Hsü Tao-tsang ching was issued in 1607.

The surveys evaluate students' perceptions of ChatGPT's usefulness, ease of use, and its effectiveness in practical applications of the I Ching. Additionally, the study examines ChatGPT's responses to determine its knowledge of the I Ching. The findings affirm that ChatGPT possesses a fundamental understanding of the I Ching and can effectively apply it to solve problems presented in textbook cases. Students perceive ChatGPT as user-friendly and highly beneficial in learning how to apply the I Ching in practical scenarios. The integration of ChatGPT as a learning tool has not only enhanced accessibility to the I Ching but also elicited increased interest and engagement among students. This integration serves as a valuable bridge between ancient Chinese wisdom and modern management approaches. By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, students can dynamically and interactively explore the depths of the I Ching, thereby enhancing their comprehension and application of its principles. Consequently, this integration not only facilitates the learning of the I Ching but also fosters greater interest and engagement among students in business school.

Resumen
Many real-world applications require prediction that takes the most advantage of data. Classic data mining mechanisms tend to feed a prediction model pivotal data to achieve a promising result, which needs to be adjusted in different application scenarios. Recent studies have shown the potential of I Ching mechanism to improve prediction capacity. However, the I Ching prediction mechanism has several issues, including underutilized I Ching knowledge and incomplete data conversion. To address these issues, the authors designed a model to leverage I Ching knowledge and transform traditional I Ching prediction processing into data mining. The authors' investigation revealed promising results in the stock market compared to popular machine learning and deep learning algorithms such as support vector machine (SVM), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and long short-term memory (LSTM).

Resumen
Abstract It is reported that long-term use of estrogen could increase the risk of ovarian cancer. However, the role of estrogen in immunoevasion is not fully explored. We have previously demonstrated that estrogen-mediated upregulation of E2F6, and, c-Kit, by epigenetic silencing of miR-193a, and a competing endogenous (ceRNA) mechanism. In this study, we found that PBX1, a transcriptional activator of the immunosuppressive cytokine, IL-10, is also a target of miR-193a. Importantly, overexpression of the E2F6 3’UTR upregulates both E2F6 and, PBX1, as well as IL10 in ovarian cancer cell lines, suggesting that ceRNA mechanism exists between E2F6 and PBX1. These phenomena are further supported by our stochastic simulation of the estrogen-mediated E2F6 ceRNA network on the distribution of E2F6 and PBX1 mRNA in cancer cells, which is consistent with the TCGA ovarian cancer RNA-Seq dataset. Importantly, monocyte-derived dendritic cell activation of T-cell function was inhibited by pretreatment of conditioned media derived from ovarian cancer cells overexpressing E2F6 3’UTR; such inhibition was rescueable by an anti-IL-10 antibody. Clinically, IL10 level was higher in ovarian cancer patients with higher E2F6 and PBX1, and in ovarian cancer cell lines overexpressed with E2F6 3’UTR. Taken together, these results showed that E2F6 could suppress anti-tumor immune response of dendritic cell, E2F6 ceRNA network. Epigenetic intervention in restoring the expression of miR-193a may be able to enhance anti-tumor immune response against ovarian cancer. Citation Format: Michael W.Y. Resumen
This article is dedicated to artistic explorations of change, with the I Ching (The Book of Changes) as a stepping stone. The author uses modern mathematics to identify the basic types of change in the I Ching codes and to build a bottom-up I Ching systemization with an associated aesthetic principle. Moreover, the author introduces other (chaotic) types of change to sparsely fill the gap between the basic I Ching orders and the ultimate Change, allowing artistic speculation reflecting the evolution of many types of change by means of digital simulations, 3D volumetric display, etc.

Resumen
After presenting the I Ching as a medium, this piece goes on to reveal the characteristics of the ancient Chinese sacred book from diverse perspectives. To maintain a fast tempo, and to stay within the bounds of what counts as a probe, the entries have been explained in a suggestive rather than exhaustive manner. Put otherwise, the piece seeks to say more with less, much like how the I Ching itself communicates. Although arranged alphabetically, the entries can be read in any order. As a matter of fact, the reader may experience the shock of recognition when leaping from entry to entry aleatorily. To pay homage to McLuhan, the piece ends with a tetrad on the I Ching. The reader is encouraged to read the piece in dialogue with ‘McLuhan and the I Ching: An interological inquiry’, ‘Flusser and the I Ching’ and ‘Focal knowledge, medium bias, and metamedium’.

Resumen
Chu Culture includes material civilization and spiritual civilization created by Chu people in their working life, and it is an important part of Chinese civilization. Besides Lisao and Tianwen, Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu is also deeply influenced by Chu culture. Under the guidance of eco-translation theory, this paper takes Chapter two of Tao Te Ching as an example, selects Lin Yutang’s and James Legge’s translations as the research objects, and analyzes them from the perspectives of language, culture and communication, respectively. The purpose is to explore whether the eco-translation theory can apply to the previous English translations of Tao Te Ching, and to further understand the implicit relationship between Chu culture and Tao Te Ching.
