Resumen
We review the 2014 International Planning Competition (IPC-2014), the eighth in a series of competitions starting in 1998. IPC-2014 was held in three separate parts to assess state-of-the-art in three prominent areas of planning research: the deterministic (classical) part (IPCD), the learning part (IPCL), and the probabilistic part (IPPC). Each part evaluated planning systems in ways that pushed the edge of existing planner performance by introducing new challenges, novel tasks, or both. The competition surpassed again the number of competitors than its predecessor, highlighting the competition’s central role in shaping the landscape of ongoing developments in evaluating planning systems.

Resumen
One of the sides of a large study dedicated to the forgotten international competition of 1930 for the Project of the State Ukrainian Theater of Mass Musical Action in Kharkiv is touched upon in this article. Its purpose is the reconstruction of the competition events, identifying the features of the process of their organization. The competition attracted a record number of foreign contestants not only from many European countries, but also from other continents (from the USA and Japan). Why did it generate such widespread interest? Which famous architects took part in it? Who evaluated the projects and according to what criteria were the awards distributed? The author of this article is looking for answers to these questions. The problems of the research are due to the fact that the originals of the competition projects have not survived, and their photocopies and preparatory sketches are scattered in the archives of many countries. Information about the competition and its contestants is scarce and is documented in different languages: Ukrainian, German, French, Russian, Japanese, English, Croatian, Swedish. Only painstaking gathering, meaningful and comparative analysis of textual and graphical information obtained during the study, allows the author to reproduce the course of the competition, to reveal its significance for the development of architecture in Ukraine and for the world Modern Movement. The article analyses the methods that ensured a high level of organization of the competition and an open, unbiased assessment of its results. The distribution of prizes and the authors of the winning projects are also listed. The Kharkiv competition took place at a crucial period for the Soviet avant-garde: 1930-1931 were the last years of its heyday, after which it was banned and persecuted for many years. That is why it is so important to collect these lost puzzles of architectural history.

Resumen
To what extent does the policy goal of an international aviation hub affect the enforcement of competition law? This article examines the dynamics between competition law enforcement and the policy goal of an international aviation hub in three East Asian competition jurisdictions: Singapore, Korea, and Hong Kong. Broadly speaking, industrial policy is one of the goals identified by some competition jurisdictions and plays an important role in enforcing competition law both explicitly and implicitly. While making an international aviation hub is a legitimate policy goal that competition law agencies can consider in their enforcement, competition law enforcers should be aware of the difference between making an international aviation hub and making a national champion airline. Although there is overlap between the two (i.e., having a competitive airline with a good network is helpful for making an aviation hub), the two are not identical and not always complementary. In keeping with the principle of competitive neutrality, this article argues that competition law enforcers should not selectively favour flag carriers when pursuing the policy goal of an international aviation hub. aviation hub, competition law, industrial policy, competitive neutrality, national champion airline, state-owned airline

Resumen
The main aim of this paper is analyzed the role, importance and methodology for creating the strategies for international competition, as well as the ways of implementing and evaluating the selected strategies. This is done by applying exploratory, descriptive and casual methods to outperform competitors and determine the scope of an enterprise’s engagement in international business. The article examines forces and steps of planning, implementing and evaluating a business strategy. Enterprises must recognize and compare the factors that compose foreign environments, especially the state and local governmental politics, legal regulations, economic and financial forces, cultural differences, business ethics, technological development, infrastructure, natural resources protections, sociological and demographic issues. Three competitive strategies have been distinguished: cost leadership, differentiation and focus. Virtues of M. Porter’s five forces model: threat of new entry, competitive rivalry, supplier power, buyer power and threat of substitutes have been considered. The selection of the target markets and recognizing customers preferences belong to the most important tasks of strategic planning. An enterprise can select three levels of international involvement: passive participation, active involvement and taking the international position. Foreign countries impose barriers on international trade, but international agreements facilitate healthy competition.

Resumen
Abstract. Competition characterizes the relationships between entities and occurs in the field of economic, social, cultural and artistic relations, and of course sports. Nowadays, competition is most often understood as competition and rivalry between entities striving to achieve the same goal and the same benefits on a global scale. International (global) competition is commonly understood as competition between companies or countries on a global scale and is the most visible dimension of globalization. The emergence of global competition is mainly associated with changes that have taken place in the external environment of enterprises. Success in global competition can only be ensured by an action strategy that is focused on innovation, creates a system of rapid response to emerging opportunities and threats, enables active impact on factors shaping production and demand in the sector, on competitors, and related and supporting sectors. An effective strategy should also take into account the directions of internationalization or globalization of the company's operations, possible strategic alliances and the right location supporting competitive advantage. The globalization of knowledge and technology includes the intensification of international integration in the sphere of research and development and in the sphere of technology implementation, expanding international cooperation between companies from different countries sharing know how, as well as cooperation between governments and academic institutions, and an increase in the use of innovation on a global scale. In the conditions of global competition, people and their knowledge have become a strategic resource. The increase in intellectual capital efficiency depends on the ability and ability to associate it with abundant, and therefore cheap, factors located on the global market. Globalization, leading to the free possibility of production factors across borders, creates such possibilities. External and internal factors (determinants) of the international competitiveness of the enterprise are considered. The most important determinants of the so-called the company's closer environment is found out. These determinants remain in close dependence and interactive relationship with elements of the macroeconomic environment, primarily with economic, social, legal and political factors. They are independent of the enterprise, as they largely depend on the state policy, the degree of market regulation and, in general, the economic situation in a given country and in the global economy. In turn, internal factors determining the competitiveness of an enterprise in an ideal perspective depend on the enterprise itself, its resources and activities. However, one should remember about the interactivity highlighted above for all the determinants of competitiveness. The company has an impact on all of these factors, but their positive impact on improving competitiveness, competitive position and finally achieving the desired competitive advantage is also conditioned by external determinants of competitiveness.

Resumen
This research aims to solve the human rights issue of the participation of transgender female athletes in international sports competitions in the women's division. The existence of transgender female athletes yields two perspectives: inclusivity as a human right for transgender female athletes and unfair competition for cisgender female athletes. This issue occurs due to the physiological advantages possessed by a transgender female athlete from the high level of testosterone they have, which creates unfairness in sports competition for cisgender female athletes, and the policies of international sports organizations that exclude the participation of transgender female athletes who have experienced puberty to take part in international sports competitions. Several controversial cases have sparked debate in the international community, such as the Tiffany Newel case in the running competition and the Lia Thomas case in the swimming competition; both are female transgender athletes who won sports competitions in the women's division. Although a transgender individual already has inherent human rights regulated through international law, these rights could not be a basis that overrides the rights and freedoms of other people. In this case, the right to equal and safe competition for cisgender women. The solution to this problem is to develop an 'open category' which aims to ensure the participation of all world athletes in sports competitions regardless of gender or gender identity.

Resumen
The study draws attention to the problems and prospects of sustainable strategic development of the national economy. That is why the purpose of the article is the further development of methodological and applied principles and approaches to analyzing the impact of international competition on the strategic development of the country's economy. Scientific views on the interpretation of international competition are summarized, in particular, according to the geopolitical, economic, resource, political and institutional approach. The main factors of the influence of international competition on the strategic development of the national economy have been determined, namely in terms of the possible rapid accumulation of economic resources by the country, the availability of information about prospective and current needs of potential buyers, ensuring the country's competitiveness on the international market, the favorability of the national system of economic support and the development of factor competitive advantages. The trends of international competition and expected changes in the strategic development of the country's economy have been identified and characterized, in particular in terms of such components as the technologicalization of the world economy, the blurring of global industry boundaries, the globalization of international competitive relations, the polarization of world market segments, the deregulation of world market segments. The most significant manifestations of international competition have been identified, which relate to the global nature of international competition, its multifacetedness, dynamism and aggressiveness of competitive rivalry, which leads to violations in stability and balance in the economies of competing countries. The directions of the strategic development of the national economy are determined, depending on the influence of factors of international competition on it.

Resumen
The article analyzes the experience of holding the Pangram International Student Competition on Font and Calligraphy in the context of the phenomenon of festivals and competitions that popularize the art of type in the cultural space of Ukraine and the world. The purpose of the article is a retrospective review of the five year existence of the competition, its statistical analysis, results and prospects. This study was carried out in the framework of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of KSADA. Its idea is related to the determination of one of the directions of the Academy’s development in the future. The field of international creative competitions is diverse and constantly evolving. The most famous professional type design competitions are Morisawa Type Design Competition, TDC Typeface Design Competition, GRANSHAN Type Design Competition, where designers present their latest developments in type design. The article dwells on the problem of the implementation of creative ideas of art university students through participation in competitions, creative actions, festivals. It was noted that the practice of announcing such competitions is an example of encouraging young people to be creative, and it is an opportunity to find talented labor potential for organizations. The author examines the features of the main type festivals held in Ukraine in different years, namely: Cyrillic Holiday, Ruthenia, Space of Letters. The state of the research of the problem is analyzed. The author emphasizes that the phenomenon of creative actions, festivals and competitions is insufficiently studied in scientific terms. Although they are widely highlighted by local and regional Internet media as significant events, which demonstrates the interest of society. Special attention is payed to the background, development and transformation of the Pangram competition. The main idea of the competition is to give the opportunity to demonstrate the font ideas of students of art higher education institutions from different countries. The competition also promotes the exchange of experience of font schools in Ukraine and other countries, popularizes the role of calligraphy, type and typography disciplines in higher education institutions. The author highlights such conditions and mechanisms of the competition as topics, nominations and categories, event format, the jury and evaluation criteria, partners, and awards. It was noted that the selected remote format proved to be successful in the global pandemic. At the present stage of the development of the art of font and calligraphy in general and in Ukraine in particular, the student competition is a progressive phenomenon of bringing teaching methods beyond the walls of higher education institutions. The present study is important for understanding the trends in modern type design and calligraphy in terms of the formation of Ukrainian identity and the design culture in general.

Resumen
This article reports on the first international Competition of Distributed and Multiagent Planners (CoDMAP). The competition focused on cooperative domain-independent planners compatible with a minimal multiagent extension of the classical planning model. The motivations for the competition were manifold: to standardize the problem description language with a common set of benchmarks, to promote development of multiagent planners both inside and outside of the multiagent research community, and to serve as a prototype for future multiagent planning competitions. The article provides an overview of cooperative multiagent planning, describes a novel variant of standardized input language for encoding mutliagent planning problems and summarizes the key points of organization, competing planners and results of the competition.

Resumen
Competition with weeds decreases crop yields globally. Breeding for competitive ability against elevated weed pressure can be difficult because the selection for specific traits which contribute to competitive ability may result in yield losses. The widely studied International Triticeae Mapping Initiative (ITMI) population was used to study the genetics of traits associated with competitive ability in a high latitude (52-53ºN) wheat-growing environment in central Alberta, Canada. Grain yield without weed competition and under experimentally sown cultivated oat competition exhibited similar heritability. Grain yield was positively correlated with early season vigour, and negatively correlated with days to maturity in the competitive treatment only. In this study, similar heritability estimates between competition treatments suggest that selection in a weed free environment can lead to improvements in a weedy environment, but some high-yielding lines under competition would be eliminated during selection.Key words: Wheat, weed competition, competitive ability, International Triticeae Mapping Initiative, genetic correlation

Resumen
Creating international competitive intelligence is the foundation of an enterprise’s entry and existence in a foreign market. Good preparation for international trade and the exchange of goods and services requires intelligence to be collected and examined. An enterprise needs to determine sources of competitive intelligence as well as set up foreign market entry strategies and activities under the existing conditions. For that, it must know the nature and scope of international competitive intelligence. To understand the factors shaping business activities, it should also study the competition between local and foreign enterprises in a foreign country, commercial organisations and risk in price fluctuations.

Resumen
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of competition on supply chain integration (SCI). Design/methodology/approach – Survey data from 617 manufacturers in China were used in this study. Taxonomy with cluster analysis was used to investigate the patterns of competition, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to investigate the influence of these competition patterns on SCI. Findings – Seven competition patterns composed of local competition, international competition, and operational challenges were identified from the survey data. The ANOVA results showed that companies with different patterns achieved significantly different levels of SCI, indicating that higher levels of local competition, international competition, and operational challenges drove higher levels of SCI. Post hoc analyses revealed that international competition had stronger effects than local competition on SCI. Research limitations/implications – The data were collected from a single country, which may limit the generalization of the findings. The data were cross-sectional and thus lacked causal explanatory power. Practical implications – The findings provide suggestions for managers to use different configurations of SCI to adapt to different patterns of competition. Originality/value – This study makes three main contributions to the literature. First, it extends the research on the relationship between competition and cooperation to the supply chain management area. Second, it extends the concept of competition by incorporating not only competitive intensity, but also competitive scope and competitive capability. Third, the use of a configuration approach rather than a dimensional approach to investigate the effects of competition on SCI solves many methodological problems.

Under the conditions of integration of national markets global competition environment is created in international markets. As a result of this competitors compete based on price and related conditions of competition. In the context of global competition the competitiveness of rival companies is proportional to its global competitive advantage. In the context of global competition, the competitiveness of rival companies is proportional to its global competitive advantage. In a multinational competition, companies are struggling for leadership in the national market and in a global competition, they fight for leadership in the world. In a certain network at the same time, one can observe both global and interstate multinational competition. This paper evaluates the increasingly important role and the interdependencies between multinational and global competition, technological innovations and the theory of international production.

Resumen
The importance of a port’s strategic position has long been recognized, during which process inter-port competition is becoming increasingly fierce. This paper aims to assess the domestic and international competition patterns of 43 coastal container ports in China. A global port competition network model (GPCN) is developed based on the global liner shipping network (GLSN) model and the multiple linkage analysis (MLA) method. In the GPCN model, three competition indicators (competition degree, competition intensity, and competitive pressure) are proposed to quantitatively describe the competitive patterns of Chinese container ports. This study has found that ports tend to compete with other ports that have similar competition degrees, and competition among large ports may be more intense. Additionally, a port’s traffic volume is correlated well with its competitiveness; the larger Chinese ports, such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Ningbo-Zhoushan, and Hong Kong, have put much more competitive pressure on their smaller competitors than they are subjected to, and Singapore and Busan ports are found as the main competitive threats to the development of Chinese coastal container ports. The methodology developed in this study can provide a good strategic decision-making and guidance tool to quantitatively assess the competition situations of other countries’ coastal container ports.

Resumen
Purpose: to analyze the achievements of the participants of the world cadet wrestling championships. Material and methods. The following methods were used in the study: analysis of scientific and methodological information and Internet sources, analysis of competitive activities, methods of mathematical statistics. The careers of the participants of the 2017 and 2018 World Women's Wrestling Championships were analyzed. The total number of participants was 411 athletes. For analysis, all participants were divided into three groups depending on their place at the World Championships: medalists (1-3 place); a group of athletes who took 5th to 10th place (intermediate level); a group of athletes who took 11th place and below (low level). The performances of the participants of the World Cup were analyzed earlier, namely the number of times they took part, won a prize or won competitions among cadets (aged 16-17) in their careers earlier. The comparative analysis allowed to determine how important the results obtained at the cadet level competitions are for the achievements at the world competitions among adults. The initial data of the speeches are taken from the official website of the International Wrestling Federation United World Wrestling (unitedworldwrestling.org). Results. More than half (57,9 %) of the participants in the Women's Wrestling Championship had experience of participating in international cadet competitions, and 42,3 % of them won prizes. It is determined that the percentage of athletes who took part is higher among the participants with a low place, so the figure varies from 58,5 to 54,2 %. At the same time, almost a third of the participants (31,9 %) won the competition among cadets, and only 17,9 % of the group of athletes who took 11th place and below won the competition among cadets. The trend of distribution of athletes who have never won a competition is similar to the previous one, but the percentage of those who failed to do so is much higher: 82,1 % of athletes who took 11th place and below; 77,1 % of athletes took 5th to 10th place and 68,1 % of medalists. Almost the same percentage of athletes won once, regardless of their place at the World Championships (approximately 12-14 %). Only the medalists of the World Cup were able to win two and three times earlier in most cases (about 10 %). It should be noted that four times or more no athlete who took part in the world championship could win. Conclusions. The analysis of performances of sportswomen-participants of the world championship on women's wrestling at the previous stages, in particular at competitions among cadets is carried out. Significantly higher number of participants (in percentage), who won prizes at the World Championships among athletes, who were among the winners three and four times in competitions among cadets. Keywords: women wrestling, competition, result, career.

Resumen
Background and Study Aim. The article aims to study the trends in the competitive performance of the world’s strongest weightlifters at the 2023 World Championship and to reveal the prospects for their further entry into the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris. Material and Methods. We analyzed the achievements of 200 weightlifters who participated in the 2023 World Championship and the number of countries they represented by studying the scientific literature, Internet resources, score sheets, pedagogical observations, and video recordings of competitions. All indicators of competitive performance and age characteristics were grouped according to the following principle: the top 10 weightlifters in each weight category, as well as the winners of the competition among men and women. All weightlifters were conditionally divided into three groups of weight categories: for men by group I (up to 55, 61, 67 and 73 kg); group II (up to 81, 89 and 96 kg); group III (up to 102, 109 and + 109 kg); for women by group I (up to 45, 49, 55, 59 kg); group II (up to 64, 71 and 76 kg) and group III (up to 81, 87 and + 87 kg). Results. The article analyzes the competitive results of the world’s 200 best weightlifters in all weight categories for men and women who participated in the competitions, their age characteristics at the competitions and the beginning of their first international starts, the pace of achievement of results in their sports career, the ratio of achievements in each competitive exercise, the level of realization of competitive attempts, as well as the level of international competition in each weight category. The prospects of individual talented athletes to get to the XXXIII Olympic Games were determined. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the performances of the world’s strongest weightlifters at the World Championship on the eve of the Olympic Games was shown based on the analysis of the competitive results of weightlifters of different sexes, the number of licenses obtained by athletes of these countries, world and Olympic records. The optimal age of achievement of the highest results by weightlifters, the age of the beginning of the sport for the winners of the competition, the pace of achievement of maximum results in a sports career, the ratio of achievements in each competitive exercise, the level of implementation of competitive attempts in the snatch and the clean and jerk, the level of international competition in each weight category for men and women were determined, the characteristics of the competitive performance of the most titled athletes of the world who participated in this championship were analyzed.

Resumen
We develop and estimate an open economy New Keynesian Phillips Curve (NKPC) in which variable demand elasticities give rise to movements in desired markups in response to changes in competitive pressure from abroad. A parametric restriction yields the standard NKPC under constant elasticity and no role for foreign competition to influence domestic inflation. Foreign competition plays an important role in accounting for the behavior of traded goods price inflation. Foreign competition accounted for more than half of a 4 percentage point decline in domestic goods price inflation in the 1990s. Our results also provide evidence against demand curves with a constant elasticity. (JEL E12, E22, E31, F14, F41)

Resumen
The number of international schools is growing, especially in Asia. This presents competitive challenges; most obviously for student recruitment and retention. However, demand for places at these schools is also growing. As a result, while international schooling may feel competitive, aggregate economic data show that growing numbers do not axiomatically equate to fierce competition; many schools enjoy benign market pressures. This observation, the paper concludes, encourages a more nuanced view of international school competition across Asia – and of its gold rush conditions.

Resumen
International regulation of competition seems necessary in the context of globalization and internationalization of economic relations and, as a result, the emergence of transnational corporations (TNCs) that go to the supranational level. Due to the imperfection of national legislation in countries that have only recently embarked on the path of a market economic system, the creation of an effective international competition regulation system should contribute to the implementation of the principles and norms of competitive relations that are mandatory or recommendatory. The purpose of the study is to identify the main problems in the modern international system of competition regulation, as well as to identify problems and ways to improve the system of regulation of competitive relations in Russia.

Resumen
The extent to which market participants are in a competitive relationship constitutes a key element both in competition law and in international economic law. Competition law practice has developed refined economic instruments designed to define relevant markets on the basis of demand substitutability, supply substitutability and potential and future competition. In contrast, many fields of international economic law, such as trade and investment protection, fail to assess actual market situations. This article identifies conceptual differences and similarities between the legal instruments of the two fields of law in order to analyse whether competition law theories of defining relevant markets could also be applied in international economic law.

Resumen
The article analyses concluded bilateral intergovernmental agreements and bilateral agreements between state bodies in the field of competition policy. The analysis of the Memorandum on regional cooperation in the field of competition policy, signed on April 18, 2023 in Warsaw, was carried out.An important step on the way to European integration is the further development and strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU member states in the field of competition law enforcement and competition policy by creating a single platform for cooperation at the state level. It is necessary for Ukraine to speed up the implementation of European competition legislation, therefore the development of international cooperation in this area is an essential step for our country. The purpose of the research was to find out which international agreements in the field of competition law Ukraine has concluded, to determine which of these agreements have ceased to be valid. Investigate how the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine contributes to the development of competitive relations and strengthening of cooperation in the field ofcompetitive law enforcement. The following conclusions were made. The development of competition law in Ukraine began with the adoption of the Laws of Ukraine «On the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine», «On the Protection of Economic Competition», «On Protection from Unfair Competition». Ukraine's ratification of the Treaty on Conducting an Agreed Antimonopoly Policy was of great importance for cooperation and the development of bilateral competition policy, but later cooperation underwent serious changes, which eventually became the reason for Ukraine's withdrawal from the said treaty. Taking into account the fact that Ukraine has chosen the European path of development, an important step on the way to European integration was the signing by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine of the Memorandum on regional cooperation with colleagues from nine competitive agencies of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
