Texto completoInternet har dramatiskt ändrat hur vi kommunicerar, och det blir allt viktigare för kommunikationssystem att kunna anpassa sig till kontexten som de används i. Målet med det här examensarbetet var att undersöka hur Google Glass och WebRTC kan användas för att skapa ett kommunikationssystem som är skräddarsytt för support av fälttekniker. En prototyp skapades som låter en expert ge vägledning åt en fälttekniker som använder Google Glass. En videoström skickas från Glass till experten, och denne kan sedan välja ut enstaka bilder ur videon. När en stillbild väljs så visas den upp på Glass för teknikern, och experten kan sedan ge instruktioner med hjälp av realtidsannoteringar. En algoritm som delar upp den utvalda bilden i segment implementerades med WebGL. Den gjorde det möjligt för experten att markera objekt i bilden genom att klicka på dem. Examensarbetet undersöker också olika sätt att få tillgång till hårdvarukodaren för video i Google Glass.

Texto completoBackground: Trauma care involves the care of seriously somatic injured patients. To care for these patients a multi-disciplinary team is gathered, which requires teamwork and good communication skills for a safe and structured care of the patient. Communication and the transmit of information comprise a risk in healthcare and the relationship between bad communication and lacking treatment results is widely documented. Trauma care is a stressful situation that put demands on the nurse at the emergency department, and means challenges to achieve an effective collaborative communication. Aim: The aim was to illustrate nurses´ experiences of communication in the trauma team. Method: The study was conducted with a qualitative approach, where semi-structured interviews were performed with 11 nurses working in two emergency departments. All the data was analyzed by the help of qualitative content analysis method. Result: Study results generated in a theme Team communication -and its complexity. The result is presented in three main categories: The challenges of collaborative communication, Structure- to relate to certain rules and The Communication affects the patient. The complexity of communication within the team depends on personal characteristics and how teamwork otherwise functions. The value of leadership is essential as well as a structured approach and how to relate to policies and routines. The communication quality affects the care process for the patient and can be improved by trauma training. Conclusion: The study identifies the complexity of communication within the trauma team. Leadership and team interaction plays a crucial role for the outcome of the patient. It is of importance to communicate direct and clear. Lack of communication leads to impaired teamwork and adverse consequences for the patient safety. By trauma training, communication can be promoted and the nurses develop professional skills.

Texto completoIn the network society of the 21st century, a key strategy for web-based exchange of information and knowledge is their collaborative distribution and use. Technical hurdles of access are mostly being overcome with technological advances and traditional forms of passing on knowledge are being complemented by modern, e-learning environments. Within research into education, the foundation for socio-cultural progress is formed by involvement with collaborative teaching and learning scenarios in a dynamic exchange of information and knowledge. The emphasis of this work lay in the analysis of structures and relationships of social organisations within knowledge networks. The aim was to describe the exchange of information and knowledge in collaborative learning systems and to explore its influence on the potential for innovation and distribution of information and knowledge. A study was undertaken of the interaction of participants in discussion forums as exemplified by the learning platform OPAL – currently the most popular learning management system in secondary school education in Saxony, Germany. On the assumption that social interaction, particularly involving collaborative media, the progress of education and the construction of knowledge networks do influence teaching and learning processes, this work explored the structural conditions of OPAL's collaborative knowledge network and identified relationships between social role constructs in order to explain the effect of collaborative activities on the process of diffusion of information and knowledge in knowledge networks. Primarily the study was based on relationship oriented sociological models and communication theory models, and research methods for relationships, including SNA (Social Network Analysis) and DNA (Dynamic Network Analysis) were applied, so as to create a basis for further implementation of social network teaching and learning strategies in educational research.
