Artykuł stanowi próbę zaprezentowania dwóch antyutopijnych powieści powstałych w latach dwudziestych XX wieku: My Jewgienija Zamiatina (1920) i Mirandy Antoniego Langego (1924). Autor przedstawia w nim genezę obu tekstów, a także wskazuje kulturowe, artystyczne i ideowe płaszczyzny ich odczytania. This article discusses Miranda rights in relation to police interrogation of juveniles in schools. Part I argues that, under the standard recently announced by the Supreme Court in J.D.B.—the “Reasonable Child Test”—all schoolhouse interrogations should require Miranda warnings because no reasonable minor would feel free to leave an interrogation conducted at school. Schoolhouse interrogations have a higher risk of coercion due to the regimented nature of schools and the likelihood that parents will not be present. Further, Part II encourages state legislators to propose legislation requiring

Unfortunately, some of these techniques have proven to be so coercive that they lead to false confessions and innocent people being convicted for crimes they did not commit. Larissa Lai’s (2002) visionary novel, Salt Fish Girl , is teeming with sensations beneath and beyond capitalist control. An atemporal narrative follows Miranda, a near-future young woman conceived by a durian and afflicted by a “memory disease” that produces distinctive body odor and flashbacks to episodes of colonial violence that the powerful would prefer to forget. Elachistocleis cesarii (Miranda-Ribeiro, 1920), new combination, is revalidated and redescribed based on preserved specimens (syntype series) collected in the state of São Paulo. Furthermore, based on recently collected specimens, we increase the distribution of the species to the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás, Brazil. This species is found in open areas calling during the rainy season (from September to February for populations of the state of São Paulo). The advertisement call is described and some basic natural history data are provided. It distinguishes from all other species of the gen

Omalonyx unguis was previously known to occur in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. We report the first conclusive record of occurrence of this species in Brazil, based on specimens collected in three localities in the Paraguay River sub-basin (Mato Grosso do Sul state – Campo Grande and Miranda; Mato Grosso state – Poconé), and in the Brazilian margin of the Paraná River (Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná State). The species was identified by comparative morphology of the reproductive system, and a map that synthesizes the literature and reports new records is presented.
