Resumen
William Williams (1727–1791) wrote a novel entitled Mr. Penrose: The Journal of Penrose, Seaman about an English sailor marooned on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, partly based on the author’s own experience. Internal linguistic evidence confirms that the castaway’s contact was with the Rama and Miskito Indians of this area. The novel’s 350 printed pages are in the formal English of the times, but also include dialogue in the local vernacular English that was still undergoing creolization. It includes words not only from Rama and Miskito, but also Spanish and African languages and phrases suggesting convergence with modern English Creole structures (“Harry was sick, sick”). This article uses lexical and morphosyntactic data from the 18th-century manuscript to cast light on the origin of synchronic features of Miskito Coast Creole English.

El estudio describe las principales características tipológicas del miskito, mediante algunas comparaciones con otras lenguas de la familia misumalpa. Hecha una reseña de su situación histórica, geográfica y sociolingüística, se exponen los aspectos centrales del trabajo, referidos a la fonología, la morfología y la sintaxis de la lengua. El estudio concluye señalando la importancia de proteger el patrimonio lingüístico y cultural de las poblaciones indígenas centroamericanas. This study addresses the main typological characteristics of Miskito, by comparing it with other languages of the Misumalpan family. Beginning with a summary of its historical, geographical and sociolinguistic situation, a description is provided of the main aspects of the analysis, concerning the phonology, morphology and syntax of the language. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of protecting the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Central American indigenous populations.

Resumen
This article adapts Bakhtin’s term “heteroglossia” as a framework for analyzing Miskitu children’s multilingual speech on Corn Island, off the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. Analysis of naturally occurring speech in this context illustrates the utility of partial competencies and hybridized speech, supporting a view of language not as a bounded system, but as a diverse pool of communicative resources that socialize children into multiple modes of voicing and acting. More broadly, the article examines the relations between language ideologies and language socialization, and the ways that both are articulated within complex histories of cultural interaction and stratified social relations. The article challenges conventional dichotomies of language loss and revitalization by viewing the hybrid linguistic practices that enable children to bridge social and cultural worlds.

La investigación, se realizó con estudiantes indígenas del primer año de las carreras: Ingeniería Agroforestal, Administración de Empresas e Informática Administrativa de la Universidad de las Regiones Autónomas de la Costa Caribe Nicaragüense (URACCAN) Siuna. La finalidad fue analizar la situación de la enseñanza aprendizaje del español como segunda lengua, modalidad regular, describir las metodologías de enseñanza, estilos de aprendizaje, actitudes y compromisos que asumen los estudiantes. Es cualitativa y según el nivel de profundidad, descriptiva desde el enfoque del interaccionismo simbólico. Participaron once estudiantes indígenas, cinco mujeres, seis varones. Según su pertenencia étnica, siete miskitos, cuatro sumu-mayangnas. El universo y la muestra representan el cien por ciento. Las para la recolección de la información fueron: entrevistas, grupos focales, la observación y la revisión documental.Los hallazgos, reflejan la variedad de metodologías que utilizan los docentes, en las que existe coincidencia sobre la metodología participativa, elaboración conjunta e interrogatorios. Los estilos de aprendizaje que se identificaron fueron: con mayor frecuencia el acomodador, en segundo lugar el divergente. Entre las estrategias propuestas para facilitar el proceso educativo del español como segunda lengua, se destacan: atención a la diversidad mediante tutorías de acompañamiento docente, la práctica de técnicas y hábitos de estudio. SummaryThe research was conducted with indigenous students of first year from the careers of: Agroforestry Engineering, Business Administration and Administrative Computing of the University of the Autonomous Regions of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua (URACCAN), from Siuna campus. The purpose was to analyze the situation of teaching-learning Spanish as a second language in the regular modality, describe the teaching methods, learning techniques, attitudes and commitments that are assumed by the students. The study is qualitative and according to the level of profoundness it’s descriptive from the perspective of symbolic interactionism. Eleven indigenous students participated, five women, six men. According to their ethnicity seven were Miskitus and four Sumu-Mayangnas. The universe and the sample represents one hundred percent. The instruments for data collection that was used were based on interviews, focus groups, observation and document review.The findings reflect the variety of methodologies that is used by the teachers, where there is agreement on the participative methodology, the joint elaboration as well as the interrogations. The learning techniques identified were: in first place the usher, and secondly the divergent. Among the strategies proposed to facilitate the educational process of Spanish as a second language we find: attention to diversity through teacher tutoring accompaniment, the practice of techniques and the implementation of study habits.

Despite the proliferation of poverty studies, poverty in Brunei Darussalam (hereafter, Brunei) is under-researched. What poverty means in Brunei is, therefore, little understood, and there is a local belief that poverty in the country is unique and relative. Moreover, the terms ‘poverty’ ( kemiskinan) and ‘poor’ ( miskin) are somewhat sensitive in Brunei, but the reason(s) for this sentiment and preferred terms are not known. This study examines the language and meaning of poverty in Brunei. It also sheds light on the local belief about poverty within the country. The study used an exploratory research methodology and data were collected from poor and non-poor households and key informants. Results show that Bruneians use different terms to refer to poverty or poor people, but preferred terms are ‘living in need’, ‘difficult life’ and ‘needy people’. Bruneians avoid the terms ‘poverty’ and ‘poor’ because they can erode one’s self-confidence or self-esteem. Poverty in Brunei is construed in different ways, but it is mostly perceived as relative, and its nature is not unique.

Abstract: The decision support system using the Multi-Objective Optimization On The Basis Of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method is a system for making decisions with many criteria. One of the implementations is for poor student assistance recipients. There are many students who apply, so there is a problem in SMK Negeri 1 Fifty that it is difficult to select the file for poor student aid recipients who will get the assistance. Based on these problems, a decision support system is needed to welcome recipients of poor student assistance who really deserve to get assistance. The programming language used is Visual Basic Net 2010 and MySQL database as well as the Multi-Objective Optimization On The Basis Of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method. So the results obtained are a decision support system using the MOORA method can make decisions from a decision that is through the ranking of students who are eligible to get poor student assistance. Keywords: Decision Support System, Poor Student Assistance, MOORA Abstrak: Sistem pendukung keputusam dengan menggunakan metode Multi-Objective Opti-mization On The Basis Of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) merupakan suatu sistem dalam pengambilan keputusan banyak nya kriteria. Salah satu implementasinya yaitu untuk penentuan penerima bantuan siswa miskin. Ada banyak nya siswa yang mengajukan berkas, sehingga muncul permasalahan di SMK Negeri 1 Lima Puluh sulitnya menyeleksi berkas penerima bantuan siswa miskin yang akan mendapatkan bantuan tersebut. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka dibutuhkan sistem pendukung keputusan untuk penentuan penerima bantuan siswa miskin yang benar – benar layak untuk mendapatkan bantuan. Bahasa pemrograman yang digunakan adalah Visual Basic Net 2010 dan database MySQL dan dengan metode Multi-Objective Optimization On The Basis Of Ratio Analysis (MOORA). Proses pemilihan calon penerima Bantuan Siswa Miskin (BSM) di SMPN 4 Ciamis masih banyak kelemahan diantaranya masih menggunakan proses manual dan penilaian yang bersifat subjektif. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka dibangun sistem pendukung keputusan untuk menentukan penerima bantuan siswa miskin SMP Negeri 4 Ciamis menggunakan metode Analitical Hierarchy Process. Adapun kriteria yang ditetapkan oleh pihak sekolah diantaranya: Kepemilikan KPS (Kartu Perlindungan Sosial), Kepemilikan Orang Tua, Penghasilan Orang Tua, Tanggungan Orang Tua, Jarak Rumah, Kepribadian, Kehadiran, Nilai rapor semester, Prestasi Akademik, Prestasi Non Akademik, Pertimbanggan Lain. Dalam sistem pendukung keputusan ini didukung oleh suatu metode dalam pengambilan keputusan yaitu metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) yang dikonversikan kedalam bahasa pemrograman JAVA yang dapat menunjang dalam pengolahan data. Alat bantu pemodelan datanya menggunakan UML sedangkan teknik perancangan basisdata menggunakan Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD). Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini didapat bahwa sistem yang dibangun dapat membantu kerja Tim Penyeleksi BSM dalam melakukan proses penentuan penerima bantuan lebih tepat sasaran.The process of selecting candidates for Bantuan Siswa Miskin (BSM) in SMPN 4 Ciamis still many weaknesses which are still using manual processes and assessments are subjective. To solve it is built decision support system to determine the recipient BSM of SMPN 4 Ciamis using Analytical Hierarchy Process. The criteria include: Owners KPS Card, Ownership Parent, Income Parents, Dependent Parent, Distance House, personality, presence, Value report semesters, Achievement, Achievement Non-Academic, and Additional considerations. In a decision support system is supported by a decision-making method is the method of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which is converted into JAVA programming language that can support in data processing. Data modeling tools using UML while the technique of database design using Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD). The final results of this study found that a system can help a team of Selectors BSM in conducting the process of determining the recipient target more appropriate.

Cash Waqf is a trust fund established with money to support services to humankind on behalf of Allah SWT. Efforts to maximize the use of cash waqf funds have the potential to improve the welfare of the community, especially in alleviating the poor. One of the institutions in this field is the Islamic microfinance institution. These Islamic microfinance institutions include Baitul Maal (social funds) and Baitu Tamwil (commercial) and cooperatives. This Islamic microfinance institution is a facility for the poor to develop their business. The research method used in this research is a literature survey of more than 20 articles. Not only analyzing empirically and comparatively but also provide recommendations and suggestions with several theoretical works. The results of this study indicate that cash waqf has been widely practiced and could become a financing facility for MSMEs to alleviate poverty.Wakaf Tunai adalah dana amanah yang didirikan dengan uang untuk mendukung layanan kepada umat manusia atas nama Allah SWT. Upaya memaksimalkan penggunaan dana wakaf tunai berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, terutama dalam pengentasan masyarakat miskin. Salah satu lembaga di bidang ini adalah lembaga keuangan mikro syariah. Lembaga keuangan mikro syariah tersebut antara lain Baitul Maal (dana sosial) dan Baitu Tamwil (komersial) serta koperasi. Lembaga keuangan mikro syariah ini merupakan sarana bagi masyarakat miskin untuk mengembangkan usahanya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey literatur lebih dari 20 artikel, tidak hanya menganalisis secara empiris dan komparatif tetapi juga rekomendasi dan saran dengan beberapa karya teoritis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa wakaf tunai telah banyak dilakukan dan mampu menjadi sarana pembiayaan bagi UMKM dengan tujuan untuk mengentaskan kemiskinan.

Resumen
This research was aimed to know the current of Work Order Information System at CV Sirna Miskin Bandung, to find out the problems facing, and to know how to cope these problems. Based on the research result, it turns out that the problems of work order data processing is still manual by using Spreadsheet application, so that the detail information of work order such as status, work duration, who’s working on it and report processing became slower and less accurate.To resolve these problems, it is neccessary work order information system design with an integrated database was needed for simplify the process of managing data, so that the information needed an report processing became faster, complete and precise.Data collection methods was using observation, interview and literature study, while the method of this information system design was using object oriented method with the UML (Unified Modelling Language) and implemented using framework PHP Codeigniter and MySQL as database. Iteration method was used as for the software development.The suggestion given is : 1) Perform maintenance, develop, and update to the system which designed sustainably, 2) Developing system to becomes larger by including other business process, 3) Create system for mobile version to improve accessibilty.

Resumen
Through contrastive case studies, this chapter shows how language ideologies can vary not only between but within ethnic groups. It discusses implications for current models of language shift and revitalization, especially as applied to multilingual linguistic ecologies found in Nicaragua’s Caribbean Coast region. The Mayangna language enjoys institutional support under Nicaragua’s progressive language policies: official status, intercultural-bilingual education programmes, and strong backing from the local university, URACCAN. Another more powerful indigenous language, Miskitu, also forms part of repertoires of the Mayangna communities. The authors trace the historical development in two sets of Mayangna communities of two very different social ecologies of language and their concomitant language ideologies as expressed through informal discourse about language and daily communicative practices. It is argued that language maintenance or revitalization efforts must entail prior establishment of the ideological position(s) of the community that claims the language as its own.
