Abstract ∙ Several species of raptors that breed in North America migrate to the southern hemisphere during the non-breeding period. The Broad-winged Hawk (Buteo platypterus) is one of them, and its wintering distribution reaches the north and central part of South America, although there are published records for the species in Argentina and southern Brazil. We did an exhaustive search of records of the Broad-winged Hawk for South America, using bibliography, citizen-science initiatives, personal communications, and own records. We obtained 4025 georeferenced records for the 1879–2017 period.

The concentration of rain in short periods can trigger erosion processes and natural disasters such as floods and landslides. In order to investigate the spatial and temporal distribution of daily precipitation throughout the Brazilian territory, the Concentration Index (CI) of daily precipitation was used. 1,402 daily rainfall series were used based on regular records from 1991 to 2020. The results of the annual CI allowed the identification of five climatic zones: 0.7% of the Brazilian territory with CI <0.54 located in the state of Mato Grasso do Sul; 29.4% with CI values between 0.54 an

Bovine tuberculosis (BTB) is an infectious disease worldwide distributed, caused by Mycobacterium bovis, which affects cattle and other animals, including humans. In Brazil, BTB is endemic and causes economic losses by reducing the productivity of livestock and loss of carcasses in the slaughterhouses. Molecular epidemiology has been used as a tool for the investigation of M. bovis transmission and dynamic of this disease. Resumen
Potimirim potimirim (Müller, 1881), a species of coastal freshwater shrimp, is recorded for the first time from the state of Rio Grande do Norte, northeastern of Brazil, where it was collected in a small tributary of the Potengi River. This record extends the distribution of this species about 220 km north along Brazilian coast. New records, such as this, reinforce the need for greater research efforts in the northeastern freshwater ecosystems of Brazil to provide better understand the region’s biodiversity and establish better parameters for conservation actions.

Resumen
A preliminary checklist of polychaete species from the inner shelf of Santa Catarina state (S Brazil) is presented, based on material collected between 26°18' S – 27°18' S, in depths ranging from 5 to 15 m. The checklist comprises 46 species belonging to 18 families. Sigambra pettiboneae (Hartman-Schröeder, 1979) is newly reported for the Brazilian coast. Mediomastus californiensis Hartman, 1944, Ninoe brasiliensis Kinberg, 1865, Neanthes bruaca Lana and Sovierzoski, 1987 and Paraprionospio pinnata (Ehlers, 1901) occurred in all samples. (Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) We describe Lonchophylla inexpectata sp. n. from the Caatinga of Brazil. This new species can be distinguished from all known species of Lonchophylla that occur in Brazil by dental traits, cranial size, and fur colour. Specimens of L. inexpectata have been misidentified as L. mordax; but L. inexpectata is a pale-venter species, similar in external appearance to L. dekeyseri. We have found L. inexpectata in the Caatinga of North-eastern Brazil; L. mordax along the eastern border of the Caatinga and in the Atlantic Forest–Caatinga ecotone in No

Resumen
The species Callinectes sapidus is reported for the first time in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Northeastern Brazil. In Brazil, this species is only known from the state of Rio Grande do Sul to the state of Paraíba. In this work, one more gap about the distribution of this species was discovered. Samplings were gathered in two localities: Cavalos River and Ceará-mirim River, north and east coast of Rio Grande do Norte, respectively. This new record increases information about the singular distribution of this species, known for being the only species of Callinectes with d

Resumen
The purpose of this work is to apply a transshipment model, based on the theory of linear programming in a problem of optimization of the flow cost of soybeans from the State of Mato Grosso. The model consisted of analyzing the cost of transportation through the current transportation infrastructure, proposing two new options, being waterway and railway, as well as maintaining the port capacity of Arco Norte. 2018 production and projections for 2025 and 2030 were also considered. The results showed that the greatest reductions in transportation costs in 2018 occurred in the flow of production
