The aim of this paper is that study significance and effect of applying ideas of urban management in urban design. Through induction and analysis the conceptions about urban design and urban management, the paper evaluates the design case of Dayan Pagoda North Plaza, and elaborates the influence of urban management in urban design. Before that, the old brownfields were left untouched for years, often resulting in the connection between them and the city centre worsening.
