 AIM: This study aimed to assess the prevalence and determinants of osteoporosis [lumbar spine (LS) and femoral neck (FN)] among patients with type 2 diabetes at King Salman Hospital.MATERIALS AND METHODS: One hundred seventy patients with type 2 diabetes were enrolled in this cross-sectional study in the period from the 1st of January until the 1st of July 2015. Patient selection was based on self-report of the previous diagnosis by a physician, being on an antidiabetic agent, or a fasting glucose of 126 mg/dl as per the American Diabetes Association criteria. A dual energy X-ray absorptiometry scan with the bone mineral density (BMD) categorization based on the WHO cut of levels of T-scores and determination of vitamin D levels were performed. A detailed questionnaire was used to collect demographic data.RESULTS: Out of 170 participants, 50 (29.4%) were diagnosed as having osteoporosis, while 68 (40%) were diagnosed with osteopenia. Age was determined as a risk factor for a decreased BMD in patients with osteopenia (odds ratio (OR) = 1.1, 95% confidence interval (CI) = (1.0-1.1), p = 0.039) and osteoporosis (OR = 1.1, CI = 1.0-1.2, p < 0.001). Similarly, oral hypoglycemic agents (OHA) increased the risk of decreased BMD in osteopenia (OR = 2.6; CI = 1.0-6.7; p = 0.023) as well as osteoporosis, (OR = 3.8; CI = 1.3-10.9; p = 0.013), while vitamin D deficiency increased the risk of osteopenia OR = 3.0; CI = 1.2-7.2; p = 0.012). Increased BMI decreased the risk of both osteopenia and osteoporosis (OR = 0.9; CI = 0.9-0.99; p = 0.031 vs. OR = 0.9; CI = 0.80-0.95; p = 0.003).CONCLUSION: Advanced age, OHA and vitamin D deficiency are determinants of decreased BMD in Saudi women with type 2 diabetes, while an increased BMI protects against low BMD.

Abstract Background Shortened telomeres are seen in approximately a third of patients with idiopathic aplastic anemia (AA) and they also define risk of relapse, clonal evolution and overall survival. Constitutional pathogenic mutations in the telomere gene complex (TGC) are associated with very short telomeres (typically <1st centile) and may also present with AA, but have important implications in terms of different management strategies, especially with conditioning regimen and donor selection for bone marrow transplantation, which in turn affect transplant outcomes. Furthermore, detection of mutations of the TGC complex then entail regular screening/review of organ/systems affected in telomere disease, counselling and health insurance with regards to the increased risk of cancer and screening of family members. Novel variants affecting telomere function are increasingly being reported but in the absence of a full telomere disease phenotype, unaffected family members or variable penetrance of the mutant in affected family members, there remains uncertainty as to whether some are pathogenic or represent polymorphisms. Methods We report results using telomere length (TL) measurement by quantitative-real time PCR (qPCR) as a screening tool to identify patients for further mutation analysis on a customised panel of 10 TGC genes (TERT, TERC, DKC1, TINF2, NHP2, NOP10, RTEL1, CTC1, USB1 and WRAP) using deeply parallel sequencing in a cohort of patients with AA. Using a Polyphen score that predicts a variant to be possibly pathogenic, we have used telomere repeat amplification protocol (TRAP) assay to increase the robustness of classifying a variant as more likely pathogenic, where family history was unrevealing. TRAP assay was performed by introducing the variants into W138V13 cell line and comparing telomerase expression in them to wild type TERT and TERC expression of telomerase. Results From the King's College Hospital database, we screened 295 patients with AA for TL using qPCR. The median age of the cohort was 44.2 years (range18.2- 83.4) with male/female ratio of 57:43. 189 patients (64%) had TL < 10th centile and 111 (37.6%) had TL <1st centile (Figure 1). We screened 215 of these patients for TGC mutation analysis and report 40 mutations (18.6%) in this cohort. Most mutations were in the reverse transcriptase enzyme TERT (n=33) and the remaining in the catalytic unit of the RNA complex TERC (n=7). A positive family history of bone marrow failure was seen in only 4 (10%) of these cases with TGC mutation, where the same TGC mutation was detected. 38/40 (95%) patients with a TGC mutation had a TL <10th centile and 32 (80%) had TL<1st centile. 32/111 (28.8%) of AA patients with TL<1st centile were found to have a TGC mutation, while only 6/78 (7.8%) of AA patients with 10th < TLth centile had TGC mutations. We identified a further 9 novel variants which were predicted to be possibly pathogenic, but have not been reported pathogenic in literature, as yet. All 9 patients with the novel variants had TL <1st centile with a median age of 37 (range 19-62), but had no positive family history of bone marrow failure or features of telomere disease. Using the TRAP assay, all 9 variants had telomerase activity well below 50% of WT TERT and TERC telomerase expression. All TERC variants had TRAP score of ~20% and 5 of the 6 TERT variants had TRAP score of <30% of WT TERT telomerase activity, of which 3 had telomerase activity <5% (Figure 2). Conclusion Two thirds of patients with AA have TL <10 th centile. Most patients with a TGC mutation have TL <1st centile. TL can reliably be used as a screening tool to investigate patients for further TGC mutation analysis. Heterozygous state mutation in TERT are the commonest, followed by TERC and explain the slightly late onset (mid 40's) and milder presentation of telomere disease as compared to the more severe phenotype and younger presentation classically seen with the homozygous state DKC mutations. A telomere length and a TRAP assay can add value in predicting a possible or putative pathogenic variant in a TERT or TERC gene on TGC analysis, where a reliable family history of telomereopathy is lacking. 20020 Background: The outcome of children with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has improved over last two decades. The main factors behind this are increasing intensity of chemotherapy and improved measures of supportive care. While white blood cell count and age are major factors for risk classification in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), therapy remains the single most prognostic factor. Objectives: To assess survival with each regimen of chemotherapy and causes of treatment failure. Methods: we retrospectively reviewed the details of treatment and outcome of all children with AML from 1986- 2005 (20 yr.) and ALL from 1989–2003 (15yr.) at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Results: AML 54 patients, 23 boys with median age 5 yr. (range 0.5–14 yr.). Five (9%) had CNS leukemia. Between 1986–1995, 22 pts were treated with BFM based chemotherapy, remaining 32 received UK-AML 10 between 1996–2005. 8/22 (36%) & 5/32 (16%) died of toxicity and 12 (54%) and 8 (25%) died of AML during 1st & 2nd era respectively. With a median follow up of 3 year (.5–10 yr.). The overall survival is 9% in 1st era and 59% in 2nd era. ALL 297 patients were registered. Male 165 pts., median age 5 yr. (range 1–14), WBCs >50,000x109, 55 pts. (19%). T-cell 36 (12%), pre-B 222 (75%) and 29 (10%) unknown. NCI risk classification according to age & WBCs count at presentation as HR 84 (28%), SR 204 (69%). Causes of death; 50/297 (17%) disease recurrence which failed 2nd line chemotherapy, 12/297 (4%) induction death and 11/297 (4%) died of toxicity. Survival by different regimens of chemotherapy were showing UKALL-X 1989–1993, 67 pts.as 55%; UKALL-XI/BFM (1994–1998) 98 pts. As 72%; MRC-97/CCG1991 (1999–2003) 132 pts.87% as overall 5 yr survival. Conclusions: This single center study confirmed that the outcome of children with AML/ALL has improved over last decade. Increasing local experience, advances in supportive care and chemotherapy have contributed to this improvement. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

In order to investigate the effect of different reinforcement structure on the dynamic characteristics of sandwich structure composite plates used for manufacturing the high speed reciprocating motion composite components, four kinds of paulownia wood sandwich composite test specimens with dimensions of 350×83.5×9.5mm was designed and made by hand lay-up performing and press molding technology. The woven and 2D braiding fabric prepreg were both selected as top face and inner face materials , respectively, and the carbon fiber woven fabric prepreg was chosen as inner part materials. According to the impulse response modal test method, a modal test system was established. It was found that this kind of sandwich structure composite plate has bigger natural frequency value, it’s minimum natural frequency was about 609.77Hz that could meet the requirement for high speed reciprocating motion parts. The dynamic test results shown that the natural frequency of F2BAF-IUC-CPW sample is higher t about 11.17% at least, selecting 2D integral braiding pipe fabric as top face and inner face reinforced materials could effectively improve the dynamic properties of sandwich composite rectangular plates. The modal experiments indicated that the modal shapes of sandwich composite plate specimen with four kind reinforcement structures were identical, it’s 1st modal shape, 2nd modal shape and 3rd modal shape presented torsional vibration shape, flexural vibration shape and torsional flexural vibration shape, separately, the modal shapes of sandwich composite plate specimen were not obviously affected by reinforcement structure.

Ruang esensinya adalah tempat manusia hidup dan beraktivitas. Namun tidak semua aktivitas dapat terakomodir karena setiap ruang dibatasi dengan fungsinya masing-masing. Bagi ruang pribadi keterbatasan ruang tersebut merupakan karakteristik utama bagi ruang itu sendiri sedangkan pada ruang publik yang memiliki berbagai macam aktivitas harus dapat menampung berbagai aktivitas di dalamnya. Untuk itulah perlu dilakukan kajian mengenai ruang publik terhadap permasalahan keterbatasan ruang yang sering ditemui. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan pendekatan kajian literatur. Ada beberapa literatur yang diambil dari beberapa ahli serta beberapa hasil penelitian dalam artikel jurnal untuk mendukung teori dan melihat kenyataan di lapangan. Pada akhir tulisan diambil suatu kesimpulan bahwa keterbatasan ruang publik terhadap berbagai macam aktivitas yang berlangsung di dalamnya dengan terbentuknya ruang bersama baik secara permanen maupun bergantian (waktu tertentu).Kata-kata Kunci: arsitektur, ruang publik, aktivitas, ruang bersamaURBAN PUBLIC SPACE STUDIES BETWEEN ACTIVITIES AND LIMITATIONSThe essence of space is a place where humans live and doing their activities. For this reason, a study of public space needs to be done on the problems of space limitations that are often encountered. This paper uses qualitative methods by conducting a literature review approach. There is some literature taken from several experts and several research results in the journal for support the theory and see the reality in the field. Objectives: To assess the correlation of different obstetrical factors with the hemoglobin level in multiparous pregnant females in Taif KSA. Anemia in pregnancy is a multifactorial phenomenon, among which obstetrical factors like parity, previous H/O abortions, inter pregnancy interval, mode of delivery etc are frequently associated. Study Design: Observational study. Setting: Outpatient department in King Faisal Hospital (KFH), Taif, Saudi Arabia. Period: 1st June 2018 and 31st August 2018. Material & Methods: Conducted in 200 pregnant women by random sampling technique. Hemoglobin value and all patient’s data was noted. All data was fed to SPSS version 23.0 and statistically analyzed using chi square test for qualitative and student’s t test for quantitative data. Results: The study was conducted in 200 patients that showed that there was no statistically significant association of increasing parity, inter pregnancy interval, mode of delivery (NVD or Cesarean section) & history of anemia and PPH in preceding pregnancy with the Hemoglobin level. While history of previous abortion is associated and a risk factor for anemia in pregnancy, 50% with history of 01 previous abortion had anemia while 100% of the cases with history of 02 previous abortions had moderate anemia. (Table-II). This association was observed statistically significant with p value of 0.001. Conclusion: This study concluded that anemia is a predictable as well as preventable entity. Obstetrical factors may be the contributory factors of anemia in pregnancy. Health education awareness programs, regular antenatal visits and iron supplements can be helpful to improve heath of pregnant women.

Background: Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis in early childhood can lead to disturbances in growth, facial asymmetry and difficulties in eating as well as in breathing. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of auricular cartilage as an interpositional material after gap arthroplasty in pediatric patients with temporomandibular joint ankylosis in maintaining the achieved postoperative mouth opening.
Material and Methods: This prospective study was conducted at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of King Edward Medical University, Lahore, from 1st January 2019 to 30th November 2019. Thirty patients, aged 5 to 15 years with clinical and radiological diagnosis of TMJ ankylosis were included in the study. TMJ ankylotic mass was removed, the gap was created and interposition of auricular cartilage graft was done in these patients. Mouth opening was measured as a distance between the incisal edges of mandibular central incisors to maxillary central incisors using the scale. Preoperative and postoperative mouth opening was noted and compared using the paired t-test.
Results: Among the thirty patients, 19 were male and 11 were female. The mean (±SD) age of patients was 9.23±3.23 years (age range 5 to 15 years). The mean preoperative mouth opening (T1) was 7.3±3.1 mm, while the mean postoperative mouth opening (T2) was 29.2±3.3 mm. The mean interincisal distance was 29.0 mm (range 21 mm to 35 mm). The mean difference in pre- and postoperative mouth opening (T2-T1) was 21.6 ± 5 mm.
Conclusions: Autogenous auricular cartilage graft is an efficient and reliable interpositional material for achieving early postoperative mouth opening in TMJ ankylosis patients.

Thesis (DTh)--Stellenbosch University, 2003ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The dissertation is an answer to the question: How should the story of Naboth's land (I Kings 21) be theologically understood by a Khoi who is dispossessed of his/her land and kept on the periphery? The ftrst chapter consists of the hypothesis, the theological assumption of the research, a summary of existing research on the story of Naboth's land and the point of view from which a Khoi looks and listens to the story. The place, from which the story would be looked and listened to, the methodology, is followed by a list of concepts used in the research. The second chapter is an exposition of the hermeneutical position of the Khoi in the theological debate regarding land as a living space for humankind. Opinions from outside (European) and opinions from inside (Khoi) the living space of the Khoi are placed in contrast with one another to illustrate the divide between landed and landless people on the land. Against the European negation of their knowledge of God, the Khoi put their knowledge of God as their Supreme Being, Father and Ruler who has his abode in the clouds but who is always and everywhere powerfully present for the sake of humankind. Against the negation of their human dignity, the Khoi put the dignity of human beings as the creations of God. Against the violent invasion of their land, the Khoi put their viewpoint that human beings should live in peaceful coexistence with neighbours in their physical living space. Against those who violate their spatial identity, the Khoi affirms their identity as Khoi on the periphery of their land under foreign occupation. Against those who deny them a cultural living space, the Khoi establish their right on a cultural living space and their right to think and be heard in their mother tongue. The third chapter is a contribution to the theological debate regarding the story of the land of Naboth from the perspective of a dispossessed Khoi. The personal identities of individuals and of groups are discussed according to their relationships with fellow human beings with whom they had to share their living space. The identity of the city of lezreel as a physical and cultural living space is discussed in accordance with the attachments of Naboth and Ahab to it. Upon this discussion follows an exposition of land as communal possession (Naboth's living space) and land as private property (Ahab's living space). The purchase and the dispossession of ancestral land by Ahab to demote Naboth's family to the status of dependent subjects are identified as acts of violence. The dispossession of ancestral land caused Naboth and Elijah to protest against the violation of the spatial order because of God. The fourth chapter contains an exegesis of the story of the dispossession of the land of Naboth from the perspective of a dispossessed Khoi. The moral of the Khoi stories of the ancestral figure Heitsi Eibib determines the understanding of the story of the dispossession ofNaboth's land by Ahab. Chapter five is an exposition of the significance of the Khoi perspective for the theological understanding of the story of Naboth's land. Chapter six is a summary of the dissertation and shows other possibilities to further develop the theological debate regarding the dispossession ofNaboth's land.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die dissertasie is 'n antwoord op die vraag: Hoe moet die verhaal van Nabot se grond (I Konings 21) teologies verstaan word deur 'n Khoi wat van sylhaar grond onteien is en op die periferie gehou word? Die eerste hoofstuk omvat die vraagstelling, die teologiese begronding van die ondersoek, 'n kort opsomming oor bestaande navorsing oor die verhaal oor Naboth se grond en die plek vanwaar 'n Khoi die verhaal bekyk en beluister. Die plek vanwaar die verhaal bekyk en beluister word, naamlik, die metodologie, word gevolg deur 'n Iys van woorde wat in die ondersoek gebruik word. Teenoor die standpunt van diegene wat hulle ruimtelike identiteit geweld aandoen, bevestig die Khoi hul identiteit as Khoi op die periferie van hulle land wat in vreemde besit is. Teenoor diegene wat hulle kulturele leefruimte geweld aandoen, vestig the Khoi hulle reg op 'n kulturele leefruimte en om te dink: en gehoor te word in hul moedertaal. Die derde hoofstuk is 'n bydrae tot die teologiese debat oor die verhaal van die grond van Nabot vanuit die perspektief van 'n onteiende Khoi. Die persoonlike identiteit van individue en groepe word bespreek in tenne van hulle verhoudinge tot medemense met wie hulle hul leefruimte moes dee!. Die stad lezreel se identiteit as fisiese en kulturele leefruimte word bespreek volgens die gehegdheid van Nabot en Agab daaraan. Hierop volg 'n uiteensetting van grond as gemeenskaplike leefruimte (Nabot se leefruimte) en grond as privaat eiendom (Agab se leefruimte). Die koop en onteiening van die erfgrond deur Agab om van Nabot se familie afhanklike onderdane te maak word as dade van geweld geidentifiseer. Die onteiening van erfgrond het veroorsaak dat Nabot en Elia protes aangeteken het teen die geweld teen die ruimtelike orde ter wille van God. Die vierde hoofstuk bevat die eksegese van die verhaal oor die onteieing van die grond van Nabot vanuit die perspektief van 'n onteinde Khoi. Die morele betekenis van die Khoi verhale oor Heitsi Eibib bepaal die verstaan van die verhaal van die onteiening en besetting van Nabot se grond deur Agab. Hoofstuk vyf is 'n uiteensetting van die betekenis van die Khoi perspektief op die verhaal van Nabot se grond vir teologiese denke. Hoofstuk ses is 'n opsorruning van die dissertasie en wys op moontlikhede hoe om die teologiese debat oor the onteiening van Nabot se grond verder te ontwikkel.

The framework of the present PhD dissertation is the area that results from the overlap between the field of variationist sociolinguistics and forensic linguistics, which mainly concerns the study of variation between different individuals –inter-speaker variation– and variation within a single individual –intra-speaker variation– for forensic purposes. The primary objective of the present dissertation is twofold. On the one hand, it proposes a protocol for the creation of an Index of Idiolectal Similitude (IIS) for the phonological module of English that can effectively determine whether two oral samples show inter-speaker variation –which would indicate that the samples have been produced by two different individuals– or intra-speaker variation –which would allow to conclude that the samples have been produced by the same individual. On the other hand, the analysis of the fourteen variables proposed in a corpus that contains data on sixteen speakers and that is stratified according to measurement time –as a result of a real time study–, language contact and gender, provides an important contribution to the Base Rate knowledge, which constitutes one of the main challenges of current forensic linguistics.
Results show that inter-speaker variation is generally higher than intra-speaker variation, and that a speaker’s idiolectal style remains relatively stable over time. Therefore, the IIS is presented as an innovative quantitative tool which, together with other quantitative and qualitative techniques that the linguist acting as expert witness may have at their disposition, can help reach a conclusion regarding the probability of two samples having been produced or not by the same speaker.Aquesta tesi doctoral s’emmarca dins l’àrea comú on es troben els camps de la sociolingüística de la variació i la lingüística forense, en la qual es troba l’estudi de la variació entre diferents individus –variació inter-parlant– i la variació en del mateix individu –variació intra-parlant– amb finalitats forenses. La investigació té dos objectius principals. D’una banda, es proposa el protocol per a la creació d’un Índex de Similitud Idiolectal (ISI) per al mòdul fonològic de l’anglès que pot determinar de manera efectiva si dues mostres orals mostren variació inter-parlant –que indicaria que les mostres haurien estat produïdes per dos individus diferents– o variació intra-parlant –la qual cosa portaria a concloure que les mostres haurien estat produïdes pel mateix individu. D’altra banda, l’anàlisi de les catorze variables proposades en un corpus que conté setze parlants i que està estratificat per temps de mesura –com a resultat d’un estudi en temps real–, contacte de llengües i gènere biològic, comporta una contribució important a la referència de distribució poblacional (Base Rate Knowledge) que constitueix un dels grans reptes de la lingüística forense actual. Els resultats mostren que la variació inter-parlant és generalment més alta que la intra-parlant, i que l’estil idiolectal d’un individu es manté relativament estable malgrat el pas del temps. Per tant, l’ISI es presenta com una eina quantitativa innovadora que, juntament amb altres tècniques quantitatives i qualitatives que el lingüista forense pot tenir a la seva disposició, pot ajudar a prendre una decisió sobre la probabilitat que dues mostres hagin estat produïdes o no pel mateix parlant.

Die ontwikkeling van lesersgeorienteerde teoriee en die opkoms van die konsep van "intertekstualiteit" het veral bygedra tot die bevraagtekening van die opvatting dat tekste 'n "eintlike" betekenis "het". In konserwatiewe kerklike kringe word daar egter nog baie gemaak van die Skrif as 'n regulatiewe dokument met een sensurerende eintlike of korrekte betekenis. Die opvatting is ook dat prediking Skrifprediking moet wees waarin slegs die Skrifwoord 'n plek het. Die opvatting strook nie met literere insigte nie. In hierdie studie word sekere aspekte van die literere gestalte van die Masoretiese 1 Konings 21 ontleed en die resultaat hiervan vergelyk met soortgelyke analises van die weergawe van die verhaal in vertalings (LXX, Vulgaat, Wycliffe, Purvey, en die Geneva Bible), oorvertellings (deur Josefus en Lukas), kommentare (in die kantlyne van Purvey-en Geneefse vertalings), preke en in 'n akademiese artikel. Die bevinding is dat elke weergawe, ongeag die genre daarvan, die verhaal op een of ander manier verander het en dat interpretasies wissel van mindere uitbouings tot die skep van nuwe verhale. Die situasie van die interpreteer- der het telkens die interteks gevorm wat 'n nuwe vertelling laat ontstaan het. Since the rise of structuralism "textual meaning" has been at the centre of the literary debate. The formation of reader orientated theories and a concept like "intertextuality" contributed a great deal to the questioning of the idea that texts "have" a "real" meaning. However, in conservative church circles much is still being made of scripture as a regulative document with one censuring "real" or correct meaning. The conviction is, further, that preaching should be "scriptural", that is, sermons should only repeat what Scripture says. This view does not tally with insights gained from current literary theory. In this study certain aspects of the literary shape of the Massoretic version of 1 Kings 21 are analysed and the results compared with similar analyses of accounts of this narrative in translations (LXX, Vulgate, Wycliffe, Purvey and the Geneva Bible), re-tellings (by Josephus and Luke), comnentaries (Purvey and Geneva Bible margins), sermons and an academic article. It was found that each account, irrespective of its genre, in some or other way changed the narrative and that the interpretations vary from lesser extentions to the creation of completely new narratives. The situation of the interpreter constantly functioned as the intertext generating a new narrative. Even though texts may "possess" meaning (enabling one to compare them with one another) every interpretation is a contextualisation inevitably producing a new text. This conclusion seriously questions conservative theological definitions of concepts such as canon, canonical meaning, scriptural authority and scriptural preaching and necessitates urgent rethinking in these areas

Von ihm wird zwar nur innerhalb des Königebuches berichtet, aber Wundertaten und Himmelfahrt machen sein Wirken außergewöhnlich. Außerdem sind seine Nachwirkungen im Alten und Neuen Testament, sowie in Judentum und Christentum bemerkenswert. Der Großteil der Elia-Forschung liegt im Bereich der historisch-kritischen Methodik. Die Ergebnisse sind dabei nicht einheitlich. Größere Abschnitte als Gesamtheit wurden bisher nur selten untersucht. In dieser Arbeit wird der Frage durch eine literarisch-exegetische Analyse des Textabschnitts 1. Könige 16,29 – 2. Könige 2,25 nachgegangen. Dabei wird deutlich, dass auf Grundlage des vorliegenden Endtextes die Bedeutung Elias in seiner Funktion als Vertreter JHWHs liegt, der für die Rückkehr Israels zum Bund mit JHWH eintritt. Es zeigt sich eine theologische Linie von Mose über Elia hin zu Jesus. Die Nachwirkungen Elias sind aber nicht allein darauf zurückzuführen. Sie hängen auch mit dem Bericht über Wundertaten und Himmelfahrt zusammen.
The question of Elijah’s significance has piqued the interest of many scholars. Although his story is reported only in Kings, the miracles he performed and his ascension to heaven make his ministry extraordinary, and the effects of his ministry in the OT, the NT, Judaism and Christianity are noteworthy. Most research of Elijah is carried out with a historical-critical methodology. The results of this research are not consistent. This work approaches the topic through a literary-exegetical analysis of 1 Kings 16,29 – 2 Kings 2,25. On the basis of this text it becomes apparent that Elijah’s significance lies in his function as YHWH’s representative who attempts to bring Israel back to her covenant with YHWH. A theological continuum from Moses through Elijah to Jesus reveals itself. The repercussions of Elijah’s ministry are traced back not only to this, but also to the report of his miracles and ascension to heaven.

The land issue is one among the many challenges faced by South Africa. In this work I
look at dispossession of land in the South African context, and reflect on the biblical
account of Naboth's vineyard. Naboth was dispossessed of his vineyard through the
abuse of power and the lack of justice.
In like manner, people of colour in South Africa were dispossessed of their land by a very
powerful minority. The legal system did not protect the weak and vulnerable - hence
many injustices occurred.
The aim of this dissertation is to remind ourselves of land dispossession through the
abuse of power and the lack of justice. Through this reminder, I encourage and challenge
the church of its responsibilities in the land discussion. The church has a biblical
mandate to speak out prophetically and to become proactive in correcting the injustices of
the past.
Through the church responding in this manner, it will directly assist in poverty alleviation

This dissertation covers, in generaL the topic of the Monarchial Period in the history of Israel. More specific attention is given to Josiah. a remarkable king of Judah, and his program of religious refonn, that was set in motion with the discovery of the Book of the Law in the Temple. The story of Josiah is told against the background of the political climate in the ancient Near East prior to and also during Josiah's reign. Other nations and their influence on Judah is carefully considered in this regard. Attention is also given to those prophets that could possibly have influenced Josiah. Some of these prophets were active during Josiah's reign and others in the years preceding his reign. The aim of the dissertation is to compare the psychosocial climate of the classes between the 5th and 6th grades of Czech elementary school. In the train of pupils' leaving into the high- tracked schools there are significant organizational changes in the classes of the 6th grade. This theme includes the phenomenon of the early tracking, when some pupils can leave the mainstream of education (elementary school) and start attending the high-tracked schools (multi-year gymnasium). The aim of our study is to contribute to the research, that with the departure of students into high-tracked schools the psychosocial climate in the classes of the 6th grade unequivocally exacerbates. We are also interested in which specific students are accepted into high-tracked schools, and whether they are effective classroom leaders and socio- metric stars. In our study, we also find out the classroom positions of students who are continuously educated in the 5th and 6th grades of the elementary schools and their classmates, who have come as new students into the classes of the 6th grade. In the theoretical section we introduce the foreign and domestic researches which were conducted on the association between tracking and classroom climate. Dadurch resultiert 1. Timotheus 2:12-14 als Schlüsseltext in der Frage, ob Frauen für den leitenden und lehrenden Dienst in der Gemeinde zugelassen sind. Hinweise für das richtige Verständnis von 1. Ti-motheus 2:12-14 sind Vergleiche mit anderen paulinischen Verweisen auf erzählte Ereignisse des Alten Testaments und ihre Funktion im jeweiligen Diskurs, die Wir-kungsgeschichte der Schöpfungsreihenfolge und von Evas Fall im Frühjudentum sowie die Funktion dieser Verweise in der Argumentation im 1. Timotheusbrief. Ab-schliessend wird 1. Timotheus 2:12-14 im Bezug auf den unmittelbaren Kontext un-tersucht. Die vorliegende Arbeit schließt, dass 1. Timotheus 2:12-14 trotz der Ver-weise auf die Schöpfungsreihenfolge und den Fall Evas nicht als allgemeingültig zu verstehen ist.
After general reflections on universal validity, and on the cultural and temporal set-ting of New Testament propositions, this study examines the prohibition on women teaching in Christian congregations in the context of the whole Biblical canon. From this perspective, 1 Timothy 2:12-14 offers a key role for the validity of women as leaders and teachers. Clues towards a correct understanding of 1 Timothy 2:12-14 are to be found in comparisons with references to Old Testament events and their par-ticular function in Pauline discourse, in reception of the order of creation and fall of Eve in early Judaism, and in the function of these references in the argument of 1 Timothy. Finally, 1 Timothy 2:12-14 is examined in view of its immediate context. The thesis concludes that, despite its reference to the order of creation and the fall of Eve, 1 Timothy 2:12-14 should not be understood as an absolute prohibition.

In the mid-4th century bc, the small Greek city of Priene was founded in the Maeander river valley in western Asia Minor. It flourished for around 250 years, before the city’s harbours were sealed by silt from the Maeander. Most of the known Greek inscriptions and public documents (civic decrees, honorific statue-bases, letters from Hellenistic kings) from Priene date from the 1st century bc or earlier and provide an exceptionally clear and vivid picture of life in the Hellenistic city. ‘Priene’ focuses on this perfectly preserved example of an ordinary small Hellenistic town. It outlines the planning of the city, the relationship that the citizens had with the Hellenistic kings, and the changing patterns of social change.

The chapter examines agreement in Polish dual copula clauses, hosting both the verbal and the pronominal copula. The focus is on predicational and specificational dual copula clauses, in which the verbal copula agrees in φ-features with the post-verbal item, not with the pre-verbal one, when both nominal expressions are 3rd person. T in Polish dual copula clauses is taken to be a multiple probe, which has its φ-features valued by one of the goals it undergoes Agree with, while T’s EPP-feature is eliminated by the other goal. Divorcing the satisfaction of the EPP-feature of T from its φ-feature valuation accounts for the agreement with the post-verbal DP in both types of clauses analysed. The person hierarchy, in which 3rd person is subordinate to 1st and 2nd person, explains why in dual copula clauses with the 1st or 2nd person pronoun, the 1st or 2nd person pronoun always determines verbal agreement.

The article considers the spectrum of creative comprehension of T. Shevchenko's poems, which is reproduced in modern Ukrainian choral music. Various scientific sources on art history are analyzed. The choral cycle "Ukrainian Triptych" by the modern Ukrainian composer Valentyna Drobyazgina is analyzed. The peculiarities of musical stylistics and the efficiency of saturation of musical language with national-characteristic elements are highlighted.

As the marketing world tries to reach mobile users, a wearable technology market has emerged. This market would lead the digital marketing world to major innovation investments and entail companies to develop and improve marketing strategies in the area. The great breakthrough and development in the wearable technology industry allows marketing professionals to conduct more research on the subject. This chapter explores users' attitudes and purchase intention towards one of the most popular wearable devices, smartwatches. Two hundred surveys were taken into analyses which were collected between the dates of 1st and 2nd of June, 2018. Regression analysis, correlations analysis, t-test were conducted to test the hypotheses. While some independent variables such as hedonic values found to be the affecting the purchase intention; variables such as aesthetic appeal is found to have no influence on it.

The purpose of the paper is to determine the impact of the species of energy crops on biomass yields and the possibility of their involvement in the reclamation of contaminated areas. This is especially important from the point of view of the rational use of land for energy crops cultivation. Methodology. The research object is the processes of growth and development of plants, the peculiarities of the yield formation of energy crops biomass depending on the species traits and growing conditions. The research subject is the following energy crops: Big Bluestem, Indiangrass and Columbus Grass as well as the plant biometric indicators, biomass yield and energy efficiency of biomass production of energy crops (2016-2020). The results of research showed the variability of biometric parameters of energy crops. Over the research years, the dry biomass yield of Indiangrass was 8.9 t/ha in the first year, 10.1 t/ha in the second year and 14.9 t/ha in the third year, Big Bluestem – varied within 4.4–9.3 t/ha. Columbus Grass dry biomass increased from 11.4 t/ha (1st year) to 14.9 t/ha (2nd year) to 18.0 t/ha (3rd year). The developed model for the creation of artificial phytocenoses will allow land reclamation using energy crops based on agroecological monitoring and justification when growing energy crops. Perennial cultivation of Columbus Grass and Indiangrass provided the highest coefficient of energy efficiency (at a level or more than 3.0), which is typical for average efficiency of biomass production. Therefore, Indiangrass and Columbus Grass are recommended to be grown in order to reclaim marginal lands and obtain sustainable plant raw materials. Big Bluestem is recommended to be grown only as a companion crop of stand of grass. Furthermore, energy crops must be cultivated on the basis of ecological and adaptive technology elements, taking into account the defined territorial conditions. For the conditions of Ukraine, this complex will make it possible to reduce the negative impact on the environment as well as to obtain the stable yields of various biomass for its further processing and energy conversion.

Significant progress has been made in development of power generation products based on carbonate fuel cells. Carbonate fuel cell systems provide high efficiency and ultra-clean power generation from a variety of gaseous, liquid, and solid carbonaceous fuels. The high operating temperature of 650 °C in carbonate fuel cell allows significant system simplification by integrating the internal reforming feature into the fuel cell stack as well as use of the byproduct heat in an efficient bottoming cycle. Direct FuelCell® (DFC®) is a unique version of the carbonate fuel cell, which generates electricity directly from a hydrocarbon fuel by reforming the fuel inside the fuel cell and producing hydrogen. The direct reforming concept eliminates the need for an external reformer resulting in power plants with reduced capital cost. This feature also allows the DFC power plants to utilize the existing fuel distribution infrastructure. The first generation of products offered by FuelCell Energy (FCE) range from 250kW to 2MW and is suitable to operate on natural gas, digester gas and other fuels. Presently, a fleet of natural gas fueled units is operating in the US and Europe at customers’ sites. Additionally, there are subsequent power plants planned to operate on a variety of fuels, including coal-bed methane, digester gas, and coal-derived gas. A 2 MW fuel cell power plant (DFC3000) will soon be operating with coal gas in Wabash River, Indiana’s coal gasification plant. The field tests of a 1 MW unit (DFC1500) at King County (Seattle, WA) waste treatment will be demonstrating the unique features of the DFC technology with digester gas as a fuel. There are plans to operate a 250 kW (DFC300) unit on coal-bed methane fields in Cadiz, Ohio. FCE is also developing a 500 kW unit for the US NAVY, operating on marine distillate fuels. FCE is also developing fuel cell/turbine ultra-high efficiency hybrid power plants with efficiencies approaching 75%. In the Direct FuelCell/Turbine® (DFC/T®) power cycle, the fuel cell is integrated with an indirectly heated gas turbine. FCE has recently completed the operation of a ‘proof-of-concept’ system that combined a sub-megawatt DFC with a 30-kilowatt microturbine. The proof-of-concept tests demonstrated that the DFC/T hybrid concept, indeed, has the potential for achieving higher efficiencies than the single cycle fuel cell. The demonstration of two, packaged sub-megawatt DFC/T units, one in Danbury and one at a customer site in Montana, is planned. In addition to pioneering the Direct FuelCell technology, FCE has established a strong manufacturing base. Currently the manufacturing facility at Torrington, CT, has the equipment in place to produce 50 MW per year of fuel cells. FCE has also established commercial distribution alliances with electric power equipment sales and service companies, energy service and solution providers, and specialty application developers for marketing DFC products. The operation of FCE’s power plants at customer sites, continuing efforts in technology improvement, and the favorable reception of the customers for DFC-based units, combined with a network of partners for sales and services, are the key factors for market penetration of DFC products.
