Generalized mutual information (GMI) is used to compute achievable rates for fading channels with various types of channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) and receiver (CSIR). The GMI is based on variations of auxiliary channel models with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and circularly-symmetric complex Gaussian inputs. One variation uses reverse channel models with minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimates that give the largest rates but are challenging to optimize. A second variation uses forward channel models with linear MMSE estimates that are easier to optimize. Both mo

A novel coding strategy is proposed for a broadcast setting with two transmitter (TX) antennas and two single-antenna receivers (RX). The strategy consists of using space-time block coding to send a common message (to be decoded by both RXs) across the two TX antennas, while each TX antenna also sends a private message to one of the RXs. The relative weight of the private and common messages from each TX antenna is tuned to maximize the instantaneous achievable sum-rate of the channel. Closed-form expressions for the optimal weight factors are derived. In terms of the generalized degrees of fr

Abstract Pediatric high-grade gliomas (pHGG) are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children and young adults. Current treatment strategies are centered on maximal safe resection, followed by radiotherapy, and interrogation of the tumor genome to identify targetable mutations. Unfortunately, we are yet to see an improvement in patient outcomes with a median overall survival remaining 15-months. To improve patient outcomes, we have begun to characterize the genome, proteome, and phosphoproteome of 168 pHGGs to better understand the functional consequences of their somatic alterations

High fiber low gluten whole grain flours of wheat, barley, soybean, maize, millets, mungbean, oats and flaxseeds were blended in various proportions as a partial replacement for wheat flour along with Xanthan gum @ 2% for the development of nutritionally enriched pasta. Prepared pasta samples were assessed for cooking quality, color characteristics, sensory properties and selected samples were packed in HDPE bags and stored for 90 days and the stored samples were analyzed for changes in their moisture content, free fatty acids, water activity, cooking quality and overall acceptability at 30 da

Resumen
Abstract BACKGROUND BRAF pathway alterations are frequent in glial/neuroepithelial tumors. BRAF-targeted therapy with BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi) and/or MEK inhibitors (MEKi) has proven efficacy in clinical trials, though mainly enrolling pediatric patients. We sought to investigate real-world data for adult patients with BRAF-pathway mutant glial/neuroepithelial neoplasms treated with BRAFi/MEKi. METHODS Adults with BRAF-pathway mutated glial/neuroepithelial neoplasms treated with BRAFi/MEKi were retrospectively reviewed. RESULTS Five patients (n=4 female, median age at diagnosis 36) were identif

Resumen
Skin cancer, and its less common form melanoma, is a disease affecting a wide variety of people. Since it is usually detected initially by visual inspection, it makes for a good candidate for the application of machine learning. With early detection being key to good outcomes, any method that can enhance the diagnostic accuracy of dermatologists and oncologists is of significant interest. When comparing different existing implementations of machine learning against public datasets and several we seek to create, we attempted to create a more accurate model that can be readily adapted to use in
