The purpose of this work is to model a participating forward contract permitting to avoid unlimited risk and unknown loss using a formula of risk sharing that includes the payment of an additional amount under specific price variations. This contract offers a new tool that Islamic finance can use since this finance is suspicious of classical forward contracts. The modeling is based on the classical forward equation, which incorporates the profit and loss sharing principle derived from Islamic finance. The participating forward is tested on oil data prices to compare the participating forward contract to the classical one. The participating forward offers a better possibility of profit to the seller and the buyer because of the PLS mechanism which reduces the risk for both parties. The main implication of this modeling is that the participating forward can provide some investors and Islamic banks with an alternative to conventional forward contracts.

The Union list of art, architecture and design serials, an online database of periodicals on fine and applied arts, film and television held by academic, public, national and special libraries throughout the UK and Ireland, has been some ten years in the making and work is still progressing. In autumn 2000 funding was obtained to allow for greater progress on this critical research tool, extending the coverage of participating libraries and enhancing the bibliographical records. However the work of increasing the level of participation in the Union list has largely been taken forward by direct approaches to individual institutions and by July 2002 there will be over 60 participating libraries as well as fuller bibliographic citations.

Background: Patients in mental care express a wish for more active participation. Shared decision-making is a way of increasing patient participation. There is lack of research into what the shared decision-making process means and how the patients can participate in and experience it in the context of mental care. Objective: To describe patient participation in shared decision-making in the context of indoor mental care. Method: A qualitative content analysis of data from in-depth interviews with 16 patients was performed. Results: One main theme was revealed: thriving in relation to participating actively in a complementary ensemble of care, which represented the red thread between 2 themes: having mental space to discover my way forward and being in a position to express my case. Conclusion: Patients can participate actively in shared decision-making when the patients’ and the mental health-care professionals’ joint expertise is applied throughout their mental care. The patients experience thriving when participating actively in a complementary ensemble of care.

In advancing children’s rights, and human rights more broadly, this article supports the view that participation through deliberation by children is desirable. Practising Philosophy with Children, through an approach such as Community of Philosophical Inquiry, is proposed as a powerful way forward as a rights-based means of supporting children to deliberate about matters affecting them in society. In considering that children are educated about, through and for rights, an example of children’s philosophical dialogue is provided to illustrate children deliberating on rights issues, and how teachers might use such dialogue to influence their teaching in this area. The suggestion is that participating in practical philosophy enables children to practise human rights behaviour as a means of participating beyond consultation exercises and as an approach to facilitating their engagement with ideas and issues that are important to the promotion of rights for all.

<p>Contrast of the participation model and the traditional model of care in rooming effect of neonatal care. <strong>Methods:</strong> 114 cases of early maternal care group to tradition who admitted in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2014 were treated using the traditional way of nursing care. 120 cases of early maternal located to participating group who admitted in our hospital from July 2014 to December 2014 were treated using the participatory model of care. Traditional nursing care group were treated with the traditional way of newborn care, completed by nurses alone. The participating group and their families were adopted early maternal and neonatal nurses who have completed nursing. <strong>Results:</strong> Maternal traditional care group was included reasonable scientific feeding newborns, changing diapers for the newborn, the newborn’s umbilical cord care and scientific numerical example of bathing newborns were less than the participating group. Number of maternal adaptation in the traditional care group is an example of the role of mother to the participating group. The number of cases of the traditional care group was more suitable to group together to participate and satisfaction score was less than that of the participating group. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>The both rooming model participation of neonatal care, its human and scientific characteristics can effectively improve maternal care for newborns and their families to improve maternal postpartum depression and mood, which will become the future postpartum. The main mode of care is worth in clinical GF to take forward.</p>

According to Iris Marion Young, a structural injustice occurs when members participating in one or more scheme(s) of social coordination act blamelessly, but the schemes, in combination with norms and background conditions, systematically prevent some from developing their capacities and fulfilling their rights. Because participants are mostly blameless, Young argues that traditional individualist theories of responsibility inadequately address structural injustices. Young instead proposes a social connection theory of responsibility, whereby participants in a structural injustice acquire forward-looking responsibilities to remediate the injustice by organizing, voting, protesting and pressuring institutions. In this paper, I argue that Young’s theory of structural injustice conflates several different moral failings, and that when we correctly disambiguate structural injustices, we can successfully address them with traditional individualist theories of responsibility, both forward-looking and backward-looking.

AbstractIris Marion Young presents a social connection model on which those, and only those, who participate in structural processes that produce injustice have a forward-looking responsibility to redress the resulting injustice by challenging the structures that produce it (she sometimes calls this a political responsibility [Young 2011]). In Young's view, this is an all-things-considered, albeit discretionary, responsibility. I argue that participation in a structural process that produces injustice is neither necessary nor sufficient for having political responsibilities, and that therefore the social connection model must be rejected. A subtler model is needed, one that depicts participation in a structural process that produces injustice as sufficient (but not necessary) for having pro tanto forward-looking responsibilities to redress the process, unless the participating agent satisfies certain excusing conditions. I suggest the intuitive force of the thought that mere participation gives us political responsibilities can be explained by more fundamental considerations. Hastily, we might conclude that all participants have political responsibilities simply because most of them satisfy at least one of the following conditions: they cause injustice to continue, they are morally responsible for injustice, they benefit from injustice, they have communal ties with the victims of injustice, or they have the capacity to redress injustice.

Abstract Background: There is no consensus in the literature about what analytes or values should be informed as critical results and how they should be communicated. The main aim of this project is to establish consensual standards of critical results for the laboratories participating in the study. Among the project’s secondary objectives, establishing consensual procedures for communication can be highlighted. Methods: Consensus was reached among all participating laboratories establishing the basis for the construction of the initial model put forward for consensus in conjunction with the clinicians. A real-time Delphi, methodology “health consensus” (HC), with motivating and participative questions was applied. The physician was expected to choose a numeric value within a scale designed for each analyte. Results: The medians of critical results obtained represent the consensus on critical results for outpatient and inpatient care. Both in primary care and in hospital care a high degree of consensus was observed for critical values proposed in the analysis of creatinine, digoxin, phosphorus, glucose, international normalized ratio (INR), leukocytes, magnesium, neutrophils, chloride, sodium, calcium and lithium. For the rest of critical results the degree of consensus obtained was “medium high”. The results obtained showed that in 72% of cases the consensual critical value coincided with the medians initially proposed by the laboratories. Conclusions: The real-time Delphi has allowed obtaining consensual standards for communication of critical results among the laboratories participating in the study, which can serve as a basis for other organizations.

This paper proposes an improved Trie tree structure. The tree node records the position information of the characters participating in the word formation, and the child node uses the hash search mechanism. On this basis, the forward maximum matching algorithm of Chinese word segmentation is optimized. In the process of word segmentation, the automaton mechanism is used to judge whether it constitutes the longest word, and the problem that the forward maximum matching algorithm needs to adjust the string according to the word length is solved. The algorithm time complexity is 1.33, and the comparison test results show that there is a fast word segmentation speed. The forward maximum matching algorithm based on the improved Trie tree structure improves the Chinese word segmentation speed, especially when the dictionary structure needs to be updated in real time.

Study level/applicability The case has been developed for use in “e-government Management and Leadership” and “Strategic IT management” courses and is appropriate for MBA and Executive Development Programs, as well as corporate training programs incorporating information system and e-government dilemmas. The case is appropriate for courses that deal with e-government development. Case overview Ajman Digital Government (ADG) was established in 2017. It is a new government entity intended to deliver the Ajman e-Government Project to increase government efficiency and productivity, as well as transforming public services to meet citizen expectations of digital experiences and satisfying the UAE Federal e-government standard. The current UAE federal e-government ranking includes only two emirates, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. ADG intends to be part of the UAE federal e-government ranking and participating in the world digital competitiveness ranking. Many challenges lie ahead for ADG, which intends to add Ajman’s e-government to UAE’s federal e-government, supporting the digital competitiveness of UAE worldwide and participating in increasing the ranking for UAE federal government in IMD’s World Digital Competitiveness Ranking; in addition to this challenging goal, there are significant new obstacles to the implementation of the new digital government in Ajman. ADG requires specific ingredients for the maintenance and support of the UAE e-government standard to position the project toward the success. Study of the strategic positioning of ADG would help support success of the development of e-government and weigh which technology should be used and how the project should proceed strategically. The case also provides a very useful ground for discussing all challenges faced and how the innovative business model of e-government will address these issues and create a sustainable e-government environment. Few studies directly address vulnerable populations' motivation for participating in research. Often motives are expressed spontaneously and typically given post-interview. This article investigates motivation for research participation among informants who have been bereaved by suicide. Informants were specifically asked for their motivation either prior to, or directly after the interview. Four categories of motivations were identified: 1) Helping Others, 2) Venting, 3) Insight, and 4) Just Because. Sixty percent of informants gave more than one motivation. The majority was altruistically motivated; they hoped that by taking part they could play a role in helping to prevent suicide, improving services for the bereaved or moving research forward. Close family members were more likely to be motivated by a desire to help others than more distant family members. Findings are discussed in the context of suicide-related bereavements. Information about research participation as beneficial to others should be given parallel to that of possible strain.

Introduction:Innovation procurement is a key enabler to improve the quality and efficiency of public healthcare services by driving innovation from demand side to meet concrete public healthcare provider needs. Catalan Health Services (CatSalut) aims to optimize healthcare services through innovative solutions that encompass both innovative technologies and new processes of care. Answering this aim, the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona (HCB) is participating in an Innovative Pilot Program to optimize the efficiency in the management of Aortic Valve Stenosis (AVS) using an adaptation of the methods and knowledge from hospital-based health technology assessment (HB-HTA).Methods:The first step was to identify unmet needs, main bottlenecks and problems in the comprehensive management of aortic valve stenosis (AVS) (from primary care to hospital discharge). Innovative technologies, solutions and health care organizations were proactively scanned through literature review and professional expertise. Lists of solutions were proposed through an inclusive stakeholder participation process.Results:A new healthcare model was proposed to be evaluated in the next three years based on an integral, transversal and multidisciplinary management of AVS (named MITMEVA). For each new proposed solution, the management, work streams, expected impact and key performance indicators (based on stakeholder information demands) were defined. To test the potential of the proposal, a theoretical modeling of the economic, clinical and process impacts of implementation was performed based on available scientific evidence, local professional and economic data. This analysis shows more quality-adjusted life years, fewer adverse effects and lower cost with the new proposed model.Conclusions:HB-HTA usually recommends for/against investments. In the era of value based procurement, HB-HTA can also help in developing a Public Procurement of innovative solutions (PPI) project and in testing proactively its potential impact in healthcare, which will be later tested in real life. Therefore, adapting HB-HTA to hospital innovative procurement is another way for health technology assessment to push for the implementation and testing of high value innovative technologies.

The reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM), which is a Lagrangian meshless method, is employed for the calculation of radiative heat transfer in participating media. In the present method, for each discrete particle (i.e., spatial node) within a local support domain, the approximate formulas of the radiative intensity and its derivatives are constructed by the reproducing kernel interpolation function, and the residual function is obtained when these parameters are substituted into the radiative transfer equation. Then the least-squares point collocation technique (LSPCT) is introduced by minimizing the summation of residual function. Five test cases are considered and quantified to verify the meshless method, including isotropic scattering medium, first-order forward scattering medium, pure absorbing medium, absorbing scattering medium, and absorbing, scattering emitting medium. The results are in good agreement with the benchmark methods, showing the reproducing kernel particle method is an efficient, accurate, and stable method for the calculation of radiative transfer in participating media.

Context There is attrition of women across professorial ranks in academic pathology. Women are underrepresented as leaders; 15.4% of academic pathology departments are chaired by women, according to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Objective To identify areas for targeted interventions that can advance academic and leadership development of women faculty by examining (1) sex differences in career satisfaction in US medical school pathology departments participating in the AAMC's Faculty Forward Engagement Survey, and (2) findings from a survey of the Association of Pathology Chairs (APC). Design The AAMC Faculty Forward Engagement Survey data are from 14 US medical schools participating in the 2011–2012 survey. Pathologists' response rate was 66% (461 of 697). To investigate sex differences, t tests and χ2 analyses were used. The APC survey, administered to academic department chairs, had a 55% response rate (104 of 189). Results According to the Faculty Forward Engagement Survey, women report more time in patient care and less time in research. Women consider formal mentorship, feedback, and career advancement more important than men do and are less satisfied with communication and governance. The APC survey shows that 20% to 40% of nonchair department leaders are women. More than half of chairs report satisfaction with the sex diversity of their departmental leaders. Conclusion Opportunities exist for department chairs and professional organizations to create targeted interventions to support career satisfaction, recruitment, retention, and career and leadership development for women in academic pathology. Although chairs report satisfaction with diversity within department leadership, responses of women faculty indicate there is work to be done to grow more women leaders.

The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanical factors that govern success in the performance of the handspring and salto forward tucked vault. The subjects were the 41 all-around gymnasts participating in the 1986 USA Gymnastics Championships. A motion-picture camera placed with its optical axis at right angles to the runway was used to record the performances of the subjects. Significant correlations indicated that the horizontal velocity at takeoff from the board was an important determinant for successful results, and also that the more the gymnast’s focus was on horse contact or blocking and the more vertical the direction of his effort at takeoff into the postflight, the better the final result. Quite unexpectedly, significant correlations revealed that the greater the relative height of takeoff from the horse and the less the height of CG at landing on the mat, the greater the points awarded by the judges. These relationships were almost entirely a consequence of the landing angle. Rationale for these findings were based on close observations of the filmed performances and the correlational analyses.

The time-varying characteristics of electric vehicle (EV) controllable energy and the rationality of frequency regulation (FR) demand power allocation have significant influences on participating in system FR. Finally, based on the unit participation time contribution, the selecting strategy for individual EVs to participate in FR is proposed. The simulation results show that based on the calculation of EVs’ real-time controllable energy, the proposed load frequency control model with real-time allocation of FR demand power suppresses the frequency deviation effectively, and the private electric car is found to have the most potential for the FR system.

This study aims to determine the effect of exercise on stepwise pattern and exercise a straight forward move towards crescent kick agility in UKM PSHT students of Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan (UMKT). The population in this study were students who were still actively participating in the UKM PSHT UMKT. Sampling uses a random sampling system, divided into 2 groups, namely group A by practicing stepwise patterns and group B by practicing a straight forward step. Each group consists of 10 sample people, so the total sample is 20 people. The results showed that: (1) There was the effect of training the step-by-step pattern on crescent kick agility on UMKT PSHT UKM students who obtained the value of tcount = 9.531> t table = 2.262 with a probability value of 0.000 <α 0.05. (2) There is the effect of a straight-forward exercise on crescent kick agility on UMKT PSHT UKM students who obtained a tcount = 6.975> t table = 2.262 with a significance probability value of 0.000 <α 0.05. (3) There is a difference in the effect of step-to-side pattern training and straight-forward motion training on crescent kick agility in Mulawarman University PSHT UKM students by obtaining a tcount = 4.348> t table = 1.734 with a significance probability value of 0.000 <α 0.05.

Linguistic rights and their implications for societal cohesion and state stability, have been recognized as a core component in the conflict prevention work of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe High Commissioner on National Minorities (osce hcnm). Linguistic and associated rights proved a challenge in many osce Participating States, and the hcnm repeatedly advised the relevant authorities on how to secure a fair balance between the promotion of the state language and the protection of linguistic minority rights. This article overviews the advice which the successive hcnms have throughout the years put forward on two key areas touching upon the linguistic rights of national minorities – namely, the use of languages in relations with the public administration, and the supervision and enforcement of linguistic requirements – and analyses how this advice aligns with the recommendations put forward by other international actors and institutions working on minority rights and minority issues.

The aim of this paper is to build the whole competitiveness index to analyze the recent development trends of manufacturing in G20 participating countries from 2008 to 2018. Meanwhile, based on the diamond theory, this paper adopted a panel regression model to conduct an empirical analysis on various factors that affect the sustainable competitiveness of manufacturing. These results showed the following: (1) Transport services have the most significant effect on manufacturing in developing countries. (2) Intellectual property only has a positive and significant effect on manufacturing in developed countries. (3) Information technology plays a significant role in all countries, but it is more effective in developed countries. Finally, this paper puts forward some suggestions for the sustainable development of manufacturing.

Advances in sarcoma treatment are largely based on investigator-initiated, multicentric and interdisciplinary clinical trials. The EU's Good Clinical Practice Directive 2001/20/EC, effective since 2004, was meant to harmonize the conditions for clinical trials across Europe, but, instead, the challenge of initiating and running multinational, noncommercial clinical trials has become greater than ever. Institutions participating in existing noncommercial Pan-European studies are struggling to cope with increased administrative and financial burdens, and few new studies are initiated any more. The aim of a conference entitled “Pan-European Sarcoma Trials: Moving Forward in a Climate of Increasing Economic and Regulatory Pressure,” held in Stuttgart, Germany, 30 November–2 December 2006 as part of the European Science Foundation's ECT-program, was not only to provide an overview of currently active and planned multinational studies on osteo-, Ewing's, and soft tissue sarcoma, but also to draw on areas of synergy between various established sarcoma groups in Europe to define plausible survival strategies for collaborative, interdisciplinary, patient-oriented research.

The 90s ushered in the era of molecular genetics in Pakistan. Our centuries’ old tradition of consanguineous marriages, resulting in the availability of large, inbred families with inherited disorders, proved to be a goldmine for geneticists, working to discover new genes and their functions. A multitude of novel genes with previously unknown functions were discovered through genetic linkage analysis, a technique that compares the segregations of DNA markers in normal and affected family members to pinpoint the region that contains the suspect gene. The first few landmark publications on linkage analysis in genetic diseases, from Pakistan, identified only the regions harboring the suspected disease genes.1,2 As the field advanced, disease causing mutations segregating in affected family members were identified through Sanger DNA sequencing of candidate genes in the linked region. In the last decade, the advent of high throughput techniques such as whole exome analysis and animal disease modeling, functional genomics studies became an integral of part of such genetic studies. In addition, bioinformatics tools were developed for predictive modeling of the effect of mutations on protein structure.
The analysis of a single large multigenerational family with a genetic disorder could provide the same information that would be obtained from many small nuclear families, as usually found in developed countries. This allowed Pakistani researchers to attract collaborators from Universities around the world. DNA samples of numerous Pakistani families were sent to labs across the world for analysis, many times accompanied by a PhD student who would typically spend around six months working on those families. Universities developed efficient pipelines, whereby students would find families with genetic diseases, extract DNA and carry out linkage analysis and, in some cases, identify the gene mutations using Sanger sequencing. This led to a significant increase in the number of publications on genetics, from Pakistan. However, despite all the good work carried in the country, no credible effort had been made to build national capacity to carry the work beyond initial mutation screening.
We lack the ability to conduct good quality high through put –omics analysis and animal model studies within the country. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the cost of such research is prohibitive. While some institutes have invested in next generation sequencing platforms, these machines are largely underutilized due to high cost of consumables. Lack of adequate funding for reagents, required for genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic studies, is a major roadblock. Secondly, the ease in attracting foreign collaborators to carry out the functional studies in their labs, has made many Pakistani researchers complacent, often, they are happy to be co-authors in research papers without having to go through the pains to set up the required laboratory facilities. Lastly, the bureaucratic processes and red tape, especially in public sector Universities, make procurement of chemicals and consumables, tedious and time consuming, resulting in demotivation of researchers and faculty. There is a need to address these issues, if we wish to move towards self-sufficiency in conducting high level functional genomics and stem the flow of biological samples from Pakistan.
While genetic studies in Pakistan have resulted in the discovery of many novel genes, the benefit of these studies is yet to trickle down to the patients. The willingness of the affected families to participate in these studies is crucial. Many affected families belong to far flung rural areas and have no understanding of their disease, how it is inherited or the implications of participating in such research. It is unlikely that families participating in these studies have any immediate benefits and they should be informed at the time of recruitment using common language which they are able to understand. The role of Institutional Ethics and Review Boards, for the protection of study participants and their rights, needs to be strengthened. It is important not to abandon these families after sample collection but to relay the results of the study and counsel them regarding their future options.
Despite the rapid advances in genetic medical knowledge, our population has yet to reap its benefits. A small step in right direction is the Compulsory Blood Test of the Relatives of Thalassemia Patient Bill-2017, which makes it compulsory for couples to get tested before marrying. However, the scarcity of gene testing facilities and healthcare professionals trained in clinical genetics is an impediment to the implementation of this bill in the true spirit. It is becoming imperative to educate our healthcare professionals regarding the application of genetics to medical practice. Clinical genetics and its related competencies need to be recognized as medical specialties in the country, before they can be introduced into mainstream clinical practice to improve health outcomes of our affected families.

Background: PAR-Q+ is self reported questionnaire and majorly used as a part of screening and to rule out the risk criteria before getting engaged in any physical activity program. As it is the self reported screening tool, it is necessary to translate the English questionnaire into the regional language. Method: PAR-Q+ was translated into Gujarati by using forward-backward-forward translation method. Reliability of the translated final Gujarati version was assessed on 30 participants with different age group. Result: There is an excellent internal consistency (Cronbach’alpha=1; p<0.05) and almost perfect test retest reliability (ĸ=1; p<0.05) found for PAR- Q+ Gujarati version. Spearman’s correlation coefficient (ρ=1) suggested Significant correlation between original English and translated Gujarati scales. Conclusion: This Gujarati version of PAR-Q+ can help many of the Gujarati speaking people to screen themselves before participating any physical activity program. Based on the microscopic survey data of 100 vegetable cooperatives in Sichuan Province, this paper empirically analyzes the influence of brand certification on cooperatives participating in the ecommerce by binary logistic regression model. The results show that the proportion of Sichuan vegetable cooperatives participating in the e-commerce is generally lower, which needs further improvement. Brand certification has a positive role in promoting cooperatives to participate in the e-commerce, with a marginal contribution of 19.7%. In addition, government sales support has a positive impact on the cooperative ecommerce, which is an important guarantee for promoting cooperatives to participate in the e-commerce. While the difficulty of agricultural product sales has a negative impact on the cooperative e-commerce, and the more difficult the agricultural products are sold, the higher the probability that the cooperative will participate in the e-commerce. Thus, this article puts forward policy suggestions such as actively promoting cooperatives to participate in brand certification, promoting cooperatives to participate in the e-commerce according to local conditions and strengthening government sales support.

The purpose of this study was to identify the mechanical factors that are crucial to successful performance of blocking and body control for salto forward and kickout in the handspring and salto forward tucked vault. A 16-mm camera operating at 100 Hz was used to record the performances. The subjects were 51 male gymnasts participating in the 1988 Olympic Games. It was hypothesized that some mechanical factors identified in the model were significantly correlated with successful performance of blocking and body control for salto forward and kickout as rated by the judges. Significant correlations indicated that a large horizontal velocity at touchdown on horse is an important prerequisite for effective blocking and subsequent performance of postflight. The results also indicated that the body’s moment of inertia should be minimized by assuming the full tuck position just before or near the peak of flight, which maximizes the time and height available for executing the kickout in midair. The small angular speed of body rotation due to early kickout and the long-held extended body position as it travels a large horizontal distance are not only effective in the expression of artistic amplitude for virtuosity points but are also crucial for control in landing.

Based on the fully homomorphic encryption algorithm, a privacy preserving V2G communication scheme is put forward in the paper. The proposed protocol can achieve the identity and location privacy, security requirement of confidentiality and integrity of the communications.

Dear Reader, Current Covid times are introspection times, too. When the Human Genome Project was initiated in 1990, for determining the basic pairs that make up DNA and for identifying and mapping the entire genes of the human genome, the hue and cry made by the Indian NGOs kept India out of the project, at lease officially. Approximately, 20 research institutions globally, including some from China and Russia later, participated during the 13 years of the project, which concluded in 2003. The participating countries and institutions made major contributions and consequently became beneficiaries of great progress and major strides in genomic research. While China was already participating from 1990 and Russia joined in 2000, India realised the need and importance of moving into this field at the turn of the millennium. The 100K Pathogen Genome Project launched in 2012 in USA and the 100,000 Genomes Project, also of late 2012, by UK carried forward the genome project initiatives. The countries who took early initiatives were immensely benefited through major breakthroughs. For good (or bad?), China outpaced India in genomic research and was rewarded immensely through funding from major global investors. What about India? Better late than never. The DBT in India initiated the Genome India Project in January, 2020 with the aim of collecting a moderate 10,000 human genetic samples from across India to build a reference genome. Fortunately, the vociferous NGO lobbies have probably realised their folly in opposing the genome project participation by India in the 1990s and the Indian project of 2020 will hopefully progress.

This article focuses on the role of access to music education as an agent of social change and as an important way of empowering previously disadvantaged learners, putting this forward as an argument against the proposed downscaling of music in schools as advocated by the government. This narrative inquiry shed light on the perceptions of participating teachers associated with various music programs in the same larger geographical area on the benefits of music education to learners, including instilling discipline and a sense of purpose, general academic improvement, opportunities for social connection, creating opportunities for income generation and future employment, providing role models for children who often came from broken families, and safety and keeping children off the streets, to name but a few. Innovations necessitated by resource allocation constraints are perceived by participating teachers to include sharing a limited number of instruments, teaching in groups, converting general facilities into teaching venues and finding creative ways of teaching theory. The sustainability of these programs is perceived by participating teachers to depend on feeder programs, former students qualifying as teachers, and support and donations from one or more outside sources. It is argued that it is necessary to heed the voices of previously disadvantaged people who are now benefiting from improved access to opportunities and to listen to their opinions about the advantages of music education.

Observational methodology was used, by Polar Coordinates Analysis, to discover and evaluate the relationships generated between a considered focal behavior and the different conditioned categories, describing behavioral masses among the players. The matches were observed and recorded with an ad hoc observation instrument. The relations of dual character between the players taken as (focal behaviors) right midfielder and forward and the other players (conditioned conducts) were analyzed. The results show differences in the relationship established based on the outcome of the match. Matches that end with a favorable result, the right midfielder takes center stage, as a node of intermediation between the right centre back, left center back, left midfielder, and second striker. In these, the forward is clear receiver in the actions of completion. With the result of the unfavorable match, the connection networks change, generating a network of reciprocal interaction wider and different between the aforementioned player, right midfielder and the rest of the components, with special relation in the players that occupy the right back, left back, right centre back, right winger, left winger, second striker and forward. Progressive cystic fibrosis (CF) lung disease is the main cause of mortality in CF patients. CF lung disease starts in early childhood. With current standards of care, respiratory function remains largely normal in children and more sensitive outcome measures are needed to monitor early CF lung disease. Chest CT is currently the most sensitive imaging modality to monitor pulmonary structural changes in children and adolescents with CF. To quantify structural lung disease reliably among multiple centres, standardisation of chest CT protocols is needed. SCIFI CF (Standardised Chest Imaging Framework for Interventions and Personalised Medicine in CF) was founded to characterise chest CT image quality and radiation doses among 16 participating European CF centres in 10 different countries. We aimed to optimise CT protocols in children and adolescents among several CF centres. A large variety was found in CT protocols, image quality and radiation dose usage among the centres. However, the performance of all CT scanners was found to be very similar, when taking spatial resolution and radiation dose into account. We conclude that multicentre standardisation of chest CT in children and adolescents with CF can be achieved for future clinical trials.

As the largest developing country, China plays a decisive role in the international environmental governance. At home, China has formulated the domestic environmental governance norms for the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and established an inter ministerial coordination mechanism for implementing the Sustainable Development Agenda composed of 43 government departments. China is also actively participating in international environmental governance, participating and promoting the conclusion and effectiveness of treaties on environmental protection at the international and regional levels, earnestly implementing and helping other countries to implement treaties, and expanding the global partnership through various formal and informal meetings and other channels.

The referendum of 30 August 1999 constituted a historic exercise of the right to self-determination by the people of East Timor. It rejected autonomy within Indonesia and chose to go forward on the path towards independence. Proponents of autonomy complained that they had been barred from participating in the process, and that Timorese staff had systematically told or forced people to vote for independence. However, there is no evidence that the referendum was corrupted through systematic bias on the part of local staff members. The outcome of the referendum, 78.5% in favour of independence, must be accepted as an accurate reflection of the will of the people of East Timor.

Despite the importance of impartial election administration, OSCE/ODIHR, in its reviews of election laws or in its reports of election observation missions, has so far declined to put forward a comprehensive view on what constitutes best practices regarding the composition and functioning of election commissions. I examined the relationship between a soccer coach using a paternalistic style of leadership and the cohesiveness of the team. I found that the biggest group of soccer players in higher education in Taiwan are male, approximately 19 years old, forward players, and interested in participating in Division 1 of the University Soccer League. These players trained with a coach for 2 to 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. Team performance differed under a soccer coach according to whether the paternalistic leadership style was benevolent, virtuous, or authoritarian. There was a significant correlation between soccer coaches who had a paternalistic style of leadership and team cohesiveness.

This paper presents a retired or scrap equipment recycling system planning thought, analyzes the system framework which consists of recycling targets, recycling objects, functional elements and participating subject. The preliminary structural Model is established, as well as the concrete operation processes are studied.

Using time-frequency and time-phase analysis we found that for an isolated thin bed in a binary-impedance setting, there is no observable sensitivity in preferential illumination as layered net-to-gross (NTG) changes within the isolated thin bed, regardless of the way the internal layering is distributed — either uniformly or semirandomly. The NTG signature is observed on the amplitude (magnitude) responses, rather than any specific frequency or phase component. On the other hand, external mutual thin-bed interference can significantly change the preferred phase component for each participating target. This phenomenon is largely driven by the embedded seismic wavelet that determines the nominal seismic response of an isolated thin layer and what phase component would preferentially illuminate it. For vertical separations between mutually interfering and elastically comparable thin beds in which mutual constructive interference is achieved, the target bed will be preferentially illuminated at a phase component that is very close to that of a total seismic isolation, whereas the occurrence of mutual destructive interference will cause a significant departure on the phase preferential illumination from that of an isolated seismic thin bed. All these observations can provide an avenue to yield more robust stratigraphic interpretations of seismic data and enhance the confidence on subsurface description.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore social studies from the moral perspective of an ethic of care. Care ethics considers not only the cognitive skills but also the affective dimensions of educative experiences for how they might forward an ethical ideal of caring. Design/methodology/approach This case study was conducted in a second-grade classroom at a small, diverse, urban, independent K-8th grade elementary school. Data were gathered from six sources: notes from the participating second-grade teacher’s planning meetings over the course of a two and a half month unit of instruction about genealogy; lesson plans and observation notes; interviews of participating teachers; interviews with participating students; surveys of students; and the second-grade teacher’s reflective journal. The authors took a phenomenological approach to data analysis, examining the entire data set and conducting inductive interpretive coding to identify emergent themes. Findings The authors found that adopting the theoretical perspective of care ethics helped a novice elementary teacher revise his/her approach to social studies instruction. Care ethics led to the teacher coming to see himself/herself as a teacher of care ethics, focusing on dialogue over stories to teach caring in diverse contexts, and highlighting social aspects of the curriculum. The students’ descriptions of their learning indicate that they perceived a larger purpose for their social studies lessons – in this case, participation in social life – and that this perception contributed to their engagement. Research limitations/implications The study was conducted at one school site where the teachers enjoyed the intellectual freedom to infuse new perspectives such as care ethics into their curriculum. More research needs to be done to explore the feasibility of application of these ideas elsewhere. Practical implications Implications include how adopting an ethic of care provides a larger purpose for social studies that may deepen the educative experience, both for the teacher and for the students. Adopting an ethic of care in social studies might help cultivate students’ inclination to act in more caring ways toward one another. Originality/value This paper addresses the overlooked ethical purposes of teaching social studies from a care ethics perspective.

Abstract Introduction. Besides participation in the primary prevention, screening as secondary prevention is an important requirement for primary care services. The effect of this work is influenced by the characteristics of individual primary care practices and doctors’ screening habits, as well as by the regulation of screening processes and available financial resources. Between 1999 and 2009, a managed care program was introduced and carried out in Hungary, financed by the government. This financial support and motivation gave the opportunity to increase the number of screenings. Method. 4,462 patients of 40 primary care practices were screened on the basis of SCORE risk assessment. The results of the screening were compared on the basis of two groups of patients, namely: those who had been pre-screened (pre-screening method) for known risk factors in their medical history (smoking, BMI, age, family cardiovascular history), and those randomly screened. The authors also compared the mortality data of participating primary care practices with the regional and national data. Results. The average score was significantly higher in the pre-screened group of patients, regardless of whether the risk factors were considered one by one or in combination. Mortality was significantly lower in the participating primary practices than had been expected on the basis of the national mortality data. Conclusion. This government-financed program was a big step forward to establish a proper screening method within Hungarian primary care. Performing cardiovascular screening of a selected target group is presumably more appropriate than screening within a randomly selected population. Both methods resulted in a visible improvement in regional mortality data, though it is very likely that with pre-screening a more cost-effective selection for screening may be obtained.

Based on the data from the National Health Commission of China, this paper analyzes the impact of the new rural cooperative medical insurance on the household consumption of migrant workers by using the ordinary least squares method and the propensity score matching method. The study found that the average annual per capita consumption of participating migrant workers decreased by 3.5%, and the influence of NCMS on the consumption of different groups of migrant workers was significantly different, among which, the negative impact of consumption of low-income group, young group and group with high degree of urban integration is significant. Based on the analysis of the consumption mechanism of NCMS and the heterogeneity of migrant workers, this paper puts forward some differentiated insurance policy suggestions.

Voluntary cooperation between European healthcare systems in medicines can bring concrete benefits for those healthcare systems and for patients. Although cooperation between countries in the form of clusters has been in place for some years now, there is still relatively little information on their objectives, scope, structures, procedures and activities – partly due to confidentiality, partly due to an ever-changing environment. By interviewing people who are directly leading the voluntary cooperation in countries, this article brings more clarity on the current state of play in voluntary cooperation and unpacks the challenges that countries and companies are facing in moving the joint process forward. In particular, we have anticipated the potential short- and long-term outcomes and consequences for medicine assessment in participating countries.

Measurement of the number of spectators in nucleus-nucleus collisions could be used to determine the number of nucleons participating in the interaction, i.e. get information about collision centrality. However, at energies of the NICA collider energy resolution of the forward hadron calorimeter is insufficient for separation of the amplitudes corresponding to different number of spectators. Uncertainty in the number of spectators leads to a large error in determining the centrality. For central events inaccuracy in determining the collision parameter is about 40%, for peripheral ones, no better than 30% at a beam energy of 2.5 A×GeV. The multiplicity scintillator detector will allow to obtain more accurate data. A certain method is proposed for determining the centrality, taking into account the real MPD installation geometry.
