Resumen
With the advent of the era of artificial intelligence and big data, intelligent security robots not only improve the efficiency of the traditional intelligent security industry but also propose higher requirements for intelligent security. Aiming to solve the problem of long recognition time and high equipment cost of intelligent security robots, we propose a new face recognition method for intelligent security in this paper. We use the Goldstein branching method for phase unwrapping, which can improve the three-dimensional (3D) face reconstruction effect. Subsequently, by using the three-dimensional face recognition method based on face radial curve elastic matching, different weights are assigned to different curve recognition similarity for weighted fusion as the total similarity for recognition. Experiments show that the method has a higher face recognition rate and is robust to attitude, illumination, and noise.

Resumen
AbstractThis paper investigates the history of a discursive figure that one could call the intelligent whaler. I argue that this figure's success was made possible by the construal and public distribution of whaling intelligence in an important currency of science – facts – in the preparatory phase for the United States Exploring Expedition (1838–1842). The strongest case for the necessity of the enterprise was New England whalers who were said to cruise uncharted parts of the oceans and whose discoveries of uncharted islands were reported in the local press. The document that stood at the core of the lobbying for an expedition was a table that newspaperman and public lecturer Jeremiah Reynolds had compiled after interviewing whaling captains in the country's principal whaling ports. Presenting whalers’ experience in tabular and synoptic form, Reynolds's table helped forge the figure of the ‘intelligent whaler’, a mariner who had better geographical knowledge than other seafarers. By investigating the paper technologies that produced the ‘intelligent whaler’, this paper shows how Reynolds's translation of ‘whaling intelligence’ from news into facts marks the beginning of the intelligent whaler's long career in US-American debates about expansionism, exploration and science.

Resumen
When the AC contactor switches the capacitor bank, the phase angle of the power grid is random, so the electromagnetic transient process will generate large inrush current and overvoltage, causing large disturbance to the power system. A set of AC contactor with permanent magnetic actuator (PMA) and its intelligent phase selection control system are designed to solve this problem. Firstly, the PMA is designed. The dynamic characteristics of the actuator are simulated and analyzed in ANSOFT to meet the performance requirements of phase selection control. Then the principle of phase selection control and the strategy of switching capacitor bank are analyzed. Based on this, the software and hardware of intelligent phase selection control system are designed, including phase selection control module, IGBT driver module and coil discharge module. Finally, the experimental verification is carried out on the designed AC contactor. The test results show that the phase selection errors of the designed intelligence system are within 1°, and the contactor closing and opening time deviations are within 0.5ms, which means the system can effectively realize the closing and opening control at the specified phase angle.

Resumen
In this paper the new intelligent system for two-phase flows diagnosis and control is presented. The authors developed a fuzzy inference system for two phase flows recognition based on the raw 3D ECT data statistical analysis and fuzzy classification which identify the flow structure in real-time mode. The non-invasive three-dimensional monitoring is possible to conduct even in non-transparent and non-accessible parts of the pipeline. Presented system is also equipped with the two phase gas-liquid flows installation control module based on fuzzy inference which includes the feedback information from the recognition module. The intelligent control module working in a feed-back loop keep the sets of required flow regime. Presented in this paper fuzzy algorithms allow to recognize the two phase processes similar to the human expert and to control the process in the same, very intuitively way. Using of the artificial intelligence in the industrial applications allows to avoid any random errors as well as breakdowns and human mistakes suffer from lack of objectivity. An additional feature of the system is a universal multi-touched monitoring-control panel which is an alternative for commercial solution and gives the opportunity to build user own virtual model of the flow rig to efficiently monitor and control the process.

Abstract Thermotropic materials as integrated part of „intelligent windows" based on polymer gel networks are developed. Systems change the transparency in dependence on temperature. These windows are able to protect buildings against superheating by sunshine. The aim of this work is the formation of a thermotropic material which operates like a heat filter. The effect is based on reproducible reversible phase transitions in the material. A decisive aspect is the adjustment of these transitions between the optical clear or opaque state of the windows, controled by the solar energy, to the perception of the human eye.

Resumen
A cloud data center for software-as-a-service (SaaS) was built for the purpose of stably managing these server computers in one place in order to provide an uninterrupted service, not only for a stable power supply and security but also for the efficient data management. To manage such a data center efficiently, it is important to build a cloud database with structured storage above all else. In recent decades, many studies have focused on designing cloud data centers and most of the research has focused on communication traffic, routing, topological issues and communication technology. However, in order to build an efficient cloud database that can support user demand, the most sophisticated intelligent system, based on AI technology and considering user convenience, should be designed. From this viewpoint, adopting human brain functions, Energy-Based Memory Network was designed for a knowledge-based frame of an intelligent system. And its event-related synchronized data extraction mechanism was proposed. In particular, a Thinking Thread extraction phase was implemented for the reasoning process using qualia matching and a deep extraction method in a cloud database. The purpose of this approach is to design and implement an intelligent cloud database that has an efficient structure and mechanism for supporting user demand and providing accurate, prompt services. In experiments, the working phase of the functions was simulated with data and analyzed. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed system works well and intelligently for the design purpose.

Resumen
In intelligent computer-aided design the concept of intelligence is related to that of integration. Using feature-based computer-aided design models is thought to make a complete integration. This paper presents a feature recognition approach based on the use of a feature grammar. Given the complexity of feature recognition in interactions, the basic idea of the approach is to find the latent and logical structure of features in interaction. The approach includes five main phases. The first phase, called regioning, identifies the potential zones for the birth of features. The second phase, called virtual extension, builds links and virtual faces. The third phase, called structuring, transforms the region into a structure compatible with the structure of the features represented by the feature grammar. The fourth phase, called Identification, identifies the features in these zones. The fifth phase, called modeling, represents the model by features. The feature modeling system software is developed based on this approach.

Resumen
The system based on formalized teaching with the help of electronic resources is called as E-learning. Using E-Learning in the university education systems has been growing rapidly based on the application of Information Technology (IT) designed for the substitute of traditional based learning approach. In terms of the E-learning based examinations, security constraints such as, identification of the user, misuse the passwords, unauthorized user instead of the authenticated one are available. Because of these disadvantages, the need of an authentication system is very important. The main challenge facing the security of E-learning environment is how to identify the unauthorized users from accessing and managing any platform. Therefore solving the problem of authenticating the valid user is very important. So, an intelligent examination system along with user authentication based on facial expression recognition is proposed in this paper. The proposed system can be classified in to three phases. The first phase is the design of facial database from the captured images. The second phase is the design of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based system for facial feature extraction and its classification using intelligent Agents. The final phase is the authentication of respective users by automatic identification of facial images. The results obtained shows that the proposed methodology has managed to validate the authenticated users and to provide an effective security in the E-learning platform.

This study primarily focuses on the design of an intelligent three-phase soft-switching mode rectifier (SSMR). Firstly, the small-signal dynamic model of a single-phase SSMR is derived together with the design of its controller. Then, the developed single-phase SSMR is connected to form an intelligent three-phase SSMR. When any of the phase modules in the proposed intelligent three-phase SSMR experiences a fault, it can continue to supply power automatically under reduced load capacity while still maintaining good power quality characteristics. Finally, some simulation results were used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed intelligent three-phase SSMR design.

Vast volumes of raw data are generated from the digital world each day. Acquiring useful information and chief features from this data is challenging, and it has become a prime area of current research. Another crucial area is knowledge inferencing. Much research has been carried out in both directions. Swarm intelligence is used for feature selection whereas for knowledge inferencing either fuzzy or rough computing is widely used. Hybridization of intelligent and swarm intelligence techniques are booming recently. In this research work, the authors hybridize both artificial bee colony and rough set. At the initial phase, they employ an artificial bee colony to find the chief features. Further, these main features are analyzed using rough set generating rules. The proposed model indeed helps to diagnose a disease carefully. An empirical analysis is carried out on hepatitis dataset. In addition, a comparative study is also presented. The analysis shows the viability of the proposed model.

Resumen
In construction project management, there are several factors influencing the final project cost. Among various approaches, estimate at completion (EAC) is an essential approach utilized for final project estimation. The main merit of EAC is including the probability of the project performance and risk. In addition, EAC is extremely helpful for project managers to define and determine the critical throughout the project progress and determine the appropriate solutions to these problems. In this research, a relatively new intelligent model called deep neural network (DNN) is proposed to calculate the EAC. The proposed DNN model is authenticated against one of the predominated intelligent models conducted on the EAC prediction, namely, support vector regression model (SVR). In order to demonstrate the capability of the model in the engineering applications, historical project information obtained from fifteen projects in Iraq region is inspected in this research. The second phase of this research is about the integration of two input algorithms hybridized with the proposed and the comparable predictive intelligent models. These input optimization algorithms are genetic algorithm (GA) and brute force algorithm (BF). The aim of integrating these input optimization algorithms is to approximate the input attributes and investigate the highly influenced factors on the calculation of EAC. Overall, the enthusiasm of this study is to provide a robust intelligent model that estimates the project cost accurately over the traditional methods. Also, the second aim is to introduce a reliable methodology that can provide efficient and effective project cost control. The proposed GA-DNN is demonstrated as a reliable and robust intelligence model for EAC calculation.

Resumen
Speed control of an induction motor is an important part of the operation of an induction motor. One method of regulating motor speed is the addition of a PID controller. PID parameters must be tuned properly to get the optimal speed. In this study, the PID controller tuning method uses an artificial intelligence method based on Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). ACO algorithm in an intelligent algorithm that is inspired by the behavior of ants looking for food sources in groups with traces of feromone left behind. In this study, food sources are represented as optimal parameters of PID. From the computational results obtained optimal parameters respectively, P (Proportional) 0.5359, I (Integral) 0.1173, D (Derivative) 0.0427. ACO computing found the optimal parameters in the 21st iteration with a minimum fitness function of 11.8914. Case studies are used with two variations of the speed of the induction motor input. With optimal tuning, the performance of the induction motor is increasing, marked by a minimum overshoot of 1.08 pu and a speed variation of both overshoots of 1,201 pu, whereas without control 1.49 pu and 1.28 pu, as well as with PID trial control of 1.22 pu and 1.23 pu respectively. The benefits of this research can be used as a reference for the operation of induction motors, by tuning the Ant Colony intelligent method for the PID controller in real-time with the addition of microcontroller components.

Abstract As a result of the scientific concerns of the Doctoral School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics at Valahia Târgovişte University in the field of robotics dedicated to security and surveillance, the scientific work "Intelligent Cyber- Mixmechatronic Micro-System for Monitoring and Controlling the Security and Surveillance Robots" is in the testing and experimentation phase, within the doctoral (industrial) thesis "Studies, research and contributions regarding the realization of a smart mecatronic robot for security and surveillance applications". The scientific work results in a highly efficient cybermixmecatronic system, unique in Romania, which will be used to control the mechatronic security and surveillance robot, respectively the propulsion and control of its displacement. The robot is controlled through Artificial Intelligence, using the Internet of Things (IoT), which is why the Intelligent Motion Control system must be optimized both in terms of response speeds and energy. At the same time, due to the varied and possibly unstable conditions of the displacement field, the system must meet stringent criteria of reliability, resilience, weather, stability and redundant solutions for on-site repair of potential failures during missions. The cybermixmecatronic system designed to move the robot must carry it safely at the mission site so that it can then return it back to the Command and Control Center. In the paper will be presented the original solution, applicable with minimum of specific modifications (according to the chassis used), to any type of robot requiring both operator-controlled or autoguid control. Thus, a complex project will be realized combining into a unitary Mechatronics, Integronics, Cyber-Mixmechatronics, Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology.

Resumen
Accurate traffic flow prediction is prerequisite and important for realizing intelligent traffic control and guidance, and it is also the objective requirement for intelligent traffic management. Due to the strong nonlinear, stochastic, time-varying characteristics of urban transport system, artificial intelligence methods such as support vector machine (SVM) are now receiving more and more attentions in this research field. Compared with the traditional single-step prediction method, the multisteps prediction has the ability that can predict the traffic state trends over a certain period in the future. From the perspective of dynamic decision, it is far important than the current traffic condition obtained. Thus, in this paper, an accurate multi-steps traffic flow prediction model based on SVM was proposed. In which, the input vectors were comprised of actual traffic volume and four different types of input vectors were compared to verify their prediction performance with each other. Finally, the model was verified with actual data in the empirical analysis phase and the test results showed that the proposed SVM model had a good ability for traffic flow prediction and the SVM-HPT model outperformed the other three models for prediction.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has entered the realm of higher education and has become an impressive emerging field. Since AI is starting also to be applied to Science Education, here an assay is provided while the opportunities of AI in a particular case of Science Education are reviewed and assessed, namely a chatbot on Quantum Computing, another awesome emerging field. Indeed, Quantum Computing is based on a set of principles that are difficult to understand by the general population, so the ultimate goal of such a chatbot is to learn a few complex concepts in this field and to increase public understanding and awareness of Science. Actually, AI is starting also to be applied to Science Communication, even though progress is not so advanced as in learning.Magic tricks based on mathematical principles are especially well suited to teach difficult concepts, like those related to Quantum Science. They are used to explain entanglement, quantum cryptography, the superposition principle, and other quantum-related concepts – along with other physical and chemical core elements like Entropy.Developing a chatbot is not especially difficult (e.g., with Botpress, Watson, Dialogflow, Manybot, etc.). One may build either scripted, intelligent, or application bots. Indeed, the first ones are those that are easiest to create, and correspond to the first phase of the current project. Intelligent bots understand natural spoken language and correspond to a second phase in this project. In general, Bots are connected to a real-world messaging service, like Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Telegram, Slack, etc.

In Indian scenario, we are still in the transformation phase from manual to electronic data processing. We are in balanced combination of simple, moral, responsive and transparent governance and IT tools and techniques. However a lot of scope is still there to do more and to imply IT in various governmental departments and domains. In the same sequence we can use artificial intelligence along with cloud computing to improve Indian Judicial system. Or we can say that the concept of e-courts can be enhanced by implying AI tools and techniques. The judiciary is in the early stages of a transformation in which AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology will help to make the judicial process faster, cheaper, and more predictable without compromising the integrity of judges’ discretionary reasoning. In this paper I have proposed a solution where judicial system with AI contributes to a process that encompasses such a wide range of knowledge, judgment, and experience. It have two more practical goals: producing tools to support judicial activities, including programs for intelligent document assembly, case retrieval, and support for discretionary decision-making; and developing new analytical tools for understanding and modeling the judicial process.

Resumen
Artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm is a popular swarm intelligence technique inspired by the intelligent foraging behavior of honey bees. However, ABC is good at exploration but poor at exploitation and its convergence speed is also an issue in some cases. To improve the performance of ABC, a novel ABC combined with grenade explosion method (GEM) and Cauchy operator, namely, ABCGC, is proposed. GEM is embedded in the onlooker bees’ phase to enhance the exploitation ability and accelerate convergence of ABCGC; meanwhile, Cauchy operator is introduced into the scout bees’ phase to help ABCGC escape from local optimum and further enhance its exploration ability. Two sets of well-known benchmark functions are used to validate the better performance of ABCGC. The experiments confirm that ABCGC is significantly superior to ABC and other competitors; particularly it converges to the global optimum faster in most cases. These results suggest that ABCGC usually achieves a good balance between exploitation and exploration and can effectively serve as an alternative for global optimization.

Resumen
The authors have developed a knee-ankle-foot orthosis with a joint unit that controls knee movements using a microcomputer (Intelligent Orthosis). The Intelligent Orthosis was applied to normal subjects and patients, and gait analysis was performed. In the gait cycle, the ratio of the stance phase to the swing phase was less in gait with the knee locked using a knee-ankle-foot orthosis than in gait without an orthosis or gait with the knee controlled by a microcomputer. The ratio of the stance phase to the swing phase between controlled gait and normal gait was similar. For normal subjects the activity of the tibialis anterior was markedly increased from the heel-off phase to the swing phase in locked gait. The muscle activities of the lower limb were lower in controlled force in locked gait showed spikes immediately after heel-contact in the vertical at heel-contact in the sagittal to locked gait, gait with the Intelligent Orthosis is smooth and close to normal gait from the viewpoint of biomechanics. Even in patients with muscle weakness of the quadriceps, control of the knee joint using the Intelligent Orthosis resulted in a more smooth gait with low muscle discharge.

Resumen
With the road traffic congestion problems become more and more serious, and the current traffic lights don’t possess the function of revising timely and flexible, it can't meet the requirements of real-time controlling and make the traffic in intersection more efficient. The design of Microcontroller-based traffic signal controller fixes this problem. It based on STC90C51 as CPU solutions; LED lights and digital pipe were used as display module; 8 independent keyboards were used as the only manual input device; Software used the C programming language. The intelligent traffic light system covered the multi-phase and multi-period. So we could choose two-phase/four-phase/six-phase according to the particular road and traffic condition. Besides, it took the special status of emergency vehicles into account. It also had a manual input keyboard so that you could adjust the signal at any time. This design can effectively improve the traffic congestion problem.

Resumen
In order to protect human lives and infrastructure, as well as to minimize the risk of damage, it is important to predict and respond to natural disasters in advance. However, currently, the standardized disaster response system in South Korea still needs further advancement, and the response phase systems need to be improved to ensure that they are properly equipped to cope with natural disasters. Existing studies on intelligent disaster management systems (IDSSs) in South Korea have focused only on storms, floods, and earthquakes, and they have not used past data. This research proposes a new conceptual framework of an IDSS for disaster management, with particular attention paid to wildfires and cold/heat waves. The IDSS uses big data collected from open application programming interface (API) and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to help decision-makers make faster and more accurate decisions. In addition, a simple example of the use of a convolutional neural network (CNN) to detect fire in surveillance video has been developed, which can be used for automatic fire detection and provide an appropriate response. The system will also consider connecting to open source intelligence (OSINT) to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and develop more robust security policies than those currently in place to prevent cyber-attacks.

Resumen
Purpose This paper aims to share key ideas forwarded in the five-book series focused on the Intelligent Social Change Journey (ISCJ) reflecting the latest research in the Consciousness Series supported by the Mountain Quest Institute and collaborators. This review is based on five separate books released as Part I (Laying the Groundwork), Part II (Learning from the Past), Part III (Learning in the Present), Part IV (Co-Creating the Future) and Part V (Living the Future) of The Profundity and Bifurcation of Change. Design/methodology/approach Reflecting the consilience approach taken by this in-depth research, the review of ideas provided in this paper tap into a deep array of research in knowledge and learning, with specific reference to recent neuroscience understanding that is emerging, and looks to psychology, physics, cell biology, systems and complexity, cognitive theory, social theory and spirituality for their contributions. The five books are heavily referenced (look to the larger work for these references) and, considering the individual as an intelligent complex adaptive learning system (Bennet et al., 2015b), entangle materials from science to philosophy, facts to psychology, management to poetry and words to pictures. This much shorter review can only partially represent this approach. Findings At this point in the history of humanity ? in the midst of a conscious expansion of our human capacity and understanding ? the rules are changing. As we move away from predictable patterns susceptible to logic, we are increasingly reliant on our ?gut? instinct, an internal sense of knowing that can tap into the intuitional plane. Yet, this knowing can only serve us if we ?know? what to do with it, how to act. Development of our mental faculties is essential to acting. We are on a developmental journey of the body, mind and heart, moving from the heaviness of cause-and-effect linear extrapolations, to the fluidity of co-evolving with our environment, to the lightness of breathing our thought and feelings into reality. Grounded in development of our mental faculties, these are phase changes, each building on and expanding previous learning in our movement toward intelligent activity. Originality/value This review lays the groundwork for the ISCJ, exploring consciousness through the lens of the cause-and-effect logic of Phase 1 (Learning from the Past), the co-evolving of Phase 2 (Learning in the Present) and the creative leap of Phase 3 (Co-Creating the Future). This research connects the expansion of consciousness to development of the human knowledge system.

Until recently, the phrase adaptive optics generally conjured images of large deformable mirrors being integrated into telescopes to compensate for atmospheric turbulence. However, the development of smaller, cheaper devices has sparked interest for other aerospace and commercial applications. Variable focal length lenses, liquid crystal spatial light modulators, tunable filters, phase compensators, polarization compensation, and deformable mirrors are becoming increasingly useful for other imaging applications included guidance navigation and control (GNC), coronagraphs, foveated imaging, situational awareness, autonomous rendezvous and docking, non-mechanical zoom, phase diversity, and enhanced multi-spectral imaging. Active components presented allow flexibility in the optical design, increasing performance. In addition, the intelligent optical systems presented offer advantages in size and weight and radiation tolerance.

Resumen
In mathematics learning a person often solves problems. In solving mathematical problems, a person needs a thought process with the thought process that an individual can come up with an idea to solve mathematical problems correctly. Stages of thinking take place individually and have a relationship with the social interactions carried out. The interaction will produce behavior. One factor that influences behavior is emotion. Therefore, the behavior of every individual must be related to good emotional control so that it can produce good behavior as well.Good emotional control requires preparedness and thought so that the behavior carried out does not have a negative impact on others. The readiness and thinking of a person can be seen from the age of an individual. The teenage phase occurs in someone at the age of 12 years to 18 years. At that age, an individual is in the middle or high school level. If a teenager feels school activities are not able to accommodate his thoughts, then he will overflow for less positive things. So teenagers should have the good emotional intelligence to control their emotions. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach that aims to describe how the profile of thinking in solving mathematical problems based on the level of emotional intelligence. Subjects in this study were three students consisting of one student with high emotional intelligence, one student with moderate emotional intelligence, and one student with low emotional intelligence. In achieving these objectives the researchers conducted emotional intelligence tests, tests of mathematical problem solving, and interviews of the three subjects. The results showed that students with high emotional intelligence were able to solve mathematical problems with SPLTV material correctly, all information on the questions was used, writing steps to solve problems coherently and correctly, choosing the correct method to solve the problems. Emotionally intelligent students are less able to solve mathematical problems with SPLTV material correctly, because there is information on questions that are not used, and that results in choosing a method to solve the problem so that in solving it is less correct. Low emotional intelligence students are less able to solve mathematical problems with SPLTV material correctly because they are not able to remember previous knowledge, there is information on questions that are not used, the methods used are not correct, so in solving them less correct. Keywords: Thinking, Mathematics, and Emotional Intelligence.

Resumen
In business Competitive Intelligence practice is often used four-phase model of intelligence cycle in Competitive Intelligence and Management, collection, analysis and distribution. Based on its 20 years of business experience, the author believes that this four-phase model CI cycle is suitable for simpler tasks of CI, or its use is appropriate in the particular circumstances of governmental organizations – e.g. CIA etc.. But current business practice confronts Competitive Intelligence in a globalized world much more demanding tasks. For lack of basic four-step model of intelligence cycle author considers a substantial disparity of the data, information or snippets of information. It is these disparate elements, which then enter the next phase of the intelligence cycle – analysis. It is a fact that these figures, data or pieces of information can be well developed in the intelligence analysis only to a limited extent. Larger quantities of data have resulted in the high-quality processing. This leads top management to its strategic decision-making with less quality materials. These problems can be solved by using the five phase model of intelligence cycle in Competitive Intelligence.

Resumen
With the continuous expansion of the market of indoor localization, the requirements of indoor localization technology are becoming higher and higher. Existing indoor floor localization (IFL) systems based on Wi-Fi signal and barometer data are susceptible to external environment changes, resulting in large errors. A method for indoor floor localization using multiple intelligent sensors (MIS-IFL) is proposed to decrease the localization errors, which consists of a fingerprint database construction phase and a floor localization phase. In the fingerprint database construction phase, data acquisition is performed using magnetometer sensor, accelerator sensor and gyro sensor in the smartphone. In the floor localization phase, an active pattern recognition is performed through the collaborative work of multiple intelligent sensors and machine learning classifiers. Then floor localization is performed using magnetic data mapping, Euclidean closest approximation and majority principle. Finally, the inter-floor detection link based on machine learning is added to improve the overall localization accuracy of MIS-IFL. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is superior to the existing IFL.

Resumen
Traditional filter tuning methods mainly entail tuning by electromagnetic simulation technology, which treats the tuned filter as an ideal model. However, the structure of the actual filter is relatively complex, and filter tuning becomes affected by the loss of resonant cavity, phase loading and high-order mode. In this study, to solve these problems, the tuning process was divided into four stages. First, the passband and suppression of the filter could be tuned to a reasonable range by using the phase attribute of the reflection characteristics. Secondly, the tuning model parameters (coupling matrix) were extracted by curve fitting and the improved Cauchy method. Thirdly, the tuning model of the actual filter was established by a complex neural network. Finally, the mapping relationship between the surrogate model and the actual tuning model was established by the improved space mapping algorithm. By optimizing the parameters of surrogate model, we quickly obtained the optimal position of the screws. The results of the tuning experiment with the eighth coaxial cavity filter revealed that the method had high accuracy and fast convergence speed.

Resumen
One goal of specialists in food processing is to increase production efficiency in accordance with sustainability by optimising the consumption of raw food materials, water, and energy. One way to achieve this purpose is to develop new methods for process monitoring and control. In the winemaking industry, there is a lack of procedures regarding the common work based on knowledge acquisition and intelligent control. In the present article, we developed and tested a knowledge-based system for the alcoholic fermentation process of white winemaking while considering the main phases: the latent phase, exponential growth phase, and decay phase. The automatic control of the white wine’s alcoholic fermentation process was designed as a system on three levels. Level zero represents the measurement and adjustment loops of the bioreactor. At the first level of control, the three phases of the process are detected functions of the characteristics of the fermentation medium (the initial substrate concentration, the nitrogen assimilable content, and the initial concentration of biomass) and, thus, functions on the phase’s duration. The second level achieves the sequence supervision of the process (the operation sequence of a fermentation batch) and transforms the process into a continuous one. This control level ensures the quality of the process as well as its diagnosis. This software application can be extended to the industrial scale and can be improved by using further artificial intelligence techniques.

Resumen
Abstract CAD modelling can be referred to as the process of generating an integrated multiple view model as a representation of multiple views of engineering design. In many situations, a change in the model of one view may conflict with the models of other views. In such situations, the model of some views needs to be adapted in order to make all models consistent. Thus, CAD models should be capable of adapting themselves to new situations. Recently, agent based technologies have been considered in order to increase both knowledge level and intelligence of real and virtual objects. The contribution of this paper consists in introducing the intelligent agents in intelligent CAD modelling. The proposed agents are elementary geometrical and topological objects. They incorporate the functions of observation, decision and action, and possess their own knowledge. Agents have the capacity of communication and inference based on the feature grammars. They are modelled as bio-dynamic objects that enjoy the properties of fusion, division and multiplication. Being aware of the context, the proposed agents interact to form potential regional transitory communities, called regions. Being aware of their belonging in a region, agents interact by generating virtual links (virtual extensions). These virtual links produce: (a) fusion of agents, (b) division of agents and c) multiplication of agents. The emerged agents interact with the other agents in a region to recognize each other and to form specific sub-communities, called intelligent features. From a CAD software development point of view, this paper advocates the idea of a new phase of CAD system development based on the agent-oriented programming (AOP) paradigm. Highlights This paper proposes the agent paradigm for intelligent CAD modelling. Second section presents the state of art. In the third section, using the linguistic hypothesis of product design, a feature modelling formalism is presented. Fourth section presents a formal model for agent modelling. In the fifth section, agents for feature generation and modelling are formalised and modelled. The sixth section presents the application of the method. Finally, in the last section, the conclusion and future developments are proposed.

Resumen
In this study, college undergraduate students were presented identical material on the domain of intelligent tutoring systems. The author designed his research to isolate the key variables, disallow for the effect of some of those variables, and determine in a precise way what effects are produced by a multimedia delivery system, repetition of instructional and testing material, and an intelligent tutoring system delivery system. The first phase of this study, comparing test scores of students who were presented material in two delivery systems: 1) hard-copy (printed material), and 2) a computer-based multimedia program, indicated no statistically significant difference in scores. A second part of that phase, comparing test scores and re-test scores of students studying the computer-based multimedia program, indicated no statistically significant difference in scores. The second phase of this study, comparing scores of the two initial delivery systems and scores on a multimedia modified intelligent tutoring system, resulted in a statistically significant difference in scores.

Resumen
Development and laboratory testing of an intelligent concept for providing priority to buses at signalized intersections without disrupting progression are discussed. The concept used bus position information to predict when in the cycle a bus would arrive at the bus stop and stop line of a signalized intersection and to determine whether a bus needs priority. The strategy used to provide priority was selected on the basis of the estimated arrival time of the bus at the stop line. Priority was provided by using phase extension, phase insertion, and early return strategies without causing the controller to drop from coordination. Implementation of the strategies was accomplished through normal traffic-signal controller commands (such as Ring Force Offs and Phase Holds). Hardware-in-the-loop simulation studies were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the concept with real traffic-signal controllers. The performance of the intelligent bus priority approach was examined at three volume-to-capacity levels: 0.5, 0.8, and 0.95. Significant reductions in bus travel times were achieved at all three volume-to-capacity levels by using the intelligent bus priority approach. Use of the intelligent bus priority approach resulted in only minor increases in total system stop delay and individual approach stop delays at volume-to-capacity levels of 0.5 and 0.8. The results of the simulation studies performed as part of this study suggested to the researchers that the intelligent bus priority approach could be used at moderate traffic levels (up to volume-to-capacity levels of 0.9 or less) without significantly affecting cross-street delays.

In the current scenario, the COVID-19 pandemic has a significant effect on global healthcare, and this impact is also observed in associated fields. There is a requirement for proper telehealth management and remote monitoring systems in healthcare. Medical 4.0, if implemented, can adequately handle the ongoing situation in the medical field as it will provide applications of advanced technologies to take care of the challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak. This paper studies Medical 4.0 exclusively and also in the context of COVID-19. The paper provides a brief of the significant medical revolution that has happened so far and identifies the significant supporting technologies of Medical 4.0. It also discusses the primary capabilities of Medical 4.0 for healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The roles of Medical 4.0 in healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic are studied, and finally, this paper identifies 10 significant applications of Medical 4.0 in healthcare during COVID-19-type pandemics. We observe that the contemporary phase of development and mass-level production of intelligent medical devices has not happened in the same way as it has happened for smart electronic devices and application devices. Engineers will have a prominent role in taking up the healthcare challenges that can reach the common man.

Resumen
To improve the efficiency of the periodic surveys of the asphalt pavement condition, this study puts forward an intelligent method for automating the classification of pavement crack patterns. The new approach relies on image processing techniques and computational intelligence algorithms. The image processing techniques of Laplacian pyramid and projection integral are employed to extract numerical features from digital images. Least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) and Differential Flower Pollination (DFP) are the two computational intelligence algorithms that are employed to construct the crack classification model based on the extracted features. LSSVM is employed for data classification. In addition, the model construction phase of LSSVM requires a proper setting of the regularization and kernel function parameters. This study relies on DFP to fine-tune these two parameters of LSSVM. A dataset consisting of 500 image samples and five class labels of alligator crack, diagonal crack, longitudinal crack, no crack, and transverse crack has been collected to train and verify the established approach. The experimental results show that the Laplacian pyramid is really helpful to enhance the pavement images and reveal the crack patterns. Moreover, the hybridization of LSSVM and DFP, named as DFP-LSSVM, used with the Laplacian pyramid at the level 4 can help us to achieve the highest classification accuracy rate of 93.04%. Thus, the new hybrid approach of DFP-LSSVM is a promising tool to assist transportation agencies in the task of pavement condition surveying.
