A presente pesquisa visa identificar os fatores que influenciam a inovação tecnológica em micro e pequenas empresas brasileiras, por meio da análise dos dados secundários da Pesquisa de Inovação Tecnológica (PINTEC 2008), conduzida pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) junto a 16.371 empresas de ramos industriais e de serviços selecionados. Para tanto, foi feita a modelagem estatística dos microdados relativos à sub-amostra formada pelas 3.092 micro e pequenas empresas inquiridas pela PINTEC 2008. A análise das correlações entre as variáveis que influenciam as inovações e quatro variáveis que caracterizam o tipo e a abrangência das inovações tecnológicas – inovação em produto para o mercado nacional, inovação em produto para o mercado mundial, inovação em processo para o mercado nacional, inovação em processo para o mercado mundial – permitiu selecionar as variáveis independentes mais significativas em termos de influência sobre a ocorrência de inovação em micro e pequenas empresas. Com base nessas mesmas correlações, foram elaboradas regressões logísticas (logit), nas quais as variáveis dependentes escolhidas foram as quatro variáveis caracterizadoras do tipo e da abrangência da inovação acima mencionadas, e as variáveis independentes foram selecionadas dentre aquelas com maior poder explicativo sobre a ocorrência de inovação. Foram tomadas as devidas precauções para evitar a ocorrência de multicolinearidade nas regressões. Os resultados das regressões, analisados à luz da revisão bibliográfica, revelam a importância das variáveis independentes para a ocorrência de inovação em micro e pequenas empresas, e ajudam nas reflexões sobre possíveis melhorias nas políticas de estímulo à inovação tecnológica em micro e pequenas empresas.
This research aims to identify which factors influence the technological innovation in micro and small businesses in Brazil, through the analysis of secondary data from the Survey of Technological Innovation (PINTEC 2008), conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) at 16,371 companies in selected industries and services. To that end, we made statistical modeling of micro-data on the sub-sample formed by the 3,092 micro and small businesses surveyed by PINTEC 2008. The analysis of correlations between the variables that influence innovation and four variables that characterize the type and scope of technological innovation – product innovation for the domestic market, product innovation to the world market, process innovation for the domestic market, process innovation for the global market – allowed to select the most significant independent variables in terms of influence on the occurrence of innovation in micro and small enterprises. Based on these same correlations were developed logistic regressions (logit), in which the dependent variables chosen were the four variables characterizing the type and the scope of innovation mentioned above, and the independent variables were selected from those with greater explanatory power on the occurrence of innovation. Precautions have been taken to prevent occurrence of multicollinearity in the regressions. The results of the regressions, examined under the light of the literature review, reveal the importance of the independent variables for the occurrence of innovation in micro and small enterprises, and help in discussions about possible improvements in policies to stimulate technological innovation in micro and small enterprises.

Les découvertes récentes de faunes à hominidés dans le Mio-Pliocène d'Afrique de l'Ouest ont remis en cause le rôle de barrière joué par le rift Est-Africain et relancé le débat sur la paléobiogéographie africaine. Dans ce contexte, l'identification des barrières biogéographiques effectives à cette période est importante. L'une des contraintes à la dispersion des faunes est le réseau hydrographique. Cette thèse a pour objectif la reconstruction de la topologie de ce réseau durant le Néogène. Nous avons utilisé le genre de poisson-chat Synodontis (Mochokidae, Siluriformes) : la large répartition actuelle de Synodontis en Afrique, sa diversité importante, l'hétérogénéité des distributions de ses espèces actuelles, ainsi que son importante représentation dans le registre fossile sous-tendent une histoire complexe au sein du réseau hydrographique africain. Jusqu'à présent, l'identification des espèces de Synodontis était basée sur des caractères d' anatomie molle. Nous avons établi un ensemble de caractères ostéologiques permettant la reconnaissance des d’espèces actuelles de Synodontis de la zone Nilo-Soudanaise. Cette étude anatomique a permis la reconnaissance des spécimens fossiles à un niveau spécifique dans le Mio-Pliocène d'Afrique (Tchad, Egypte, Tunisie, Uganda). Une phylogénie moléculaire est établie. Pour reconstruire l'histoire de Synodontis, nous avons combiné les approches anatomiques et moléculaires. L'évolution du groupe est structurée par la dorsale Centre Africaine et influencée par l'émergence du Rift. Nos résultats proposent une origine Congolaise de Synodontis dans l'Oligocène (~30 Ma). Subséquemment, des dispersions en zone Nilo-Soudanaise et Basse Guinée sont enregistrées. La phylogénie de Synodontis soutient l'existence d'un réseau hydrographique qui s'étend de l'Est à l'Ouest de l'Afrique, indépendant du Nil, et qui a fonctionné jusqu’à ~10 Ma. Au Miocène Supérieur, la distribution des espèces de Synodontis en zone Nilo-Soudanaise est plus hétérogène qu' actuellement. Au Plio-Pléistocène, les échanges entre les bassins de la zone Nilo-Soudanaise s'intensifient, entraînant l'homogénéisation de l'ichtyofaune
The Rift Valley has long been considered as an ecological barrier until recent discoveries of Mio-Pliocene fossiliferous outcrops in Central Africa: our paleobiogeographical conceptions have to be reappraised. In this context, identification of effective biogeographical barriers preventing dispersals during the Mio-Pliocene may provide a first order constraint in which evolution in Africa could be drawn. The hydrographical network constitutes one of the major constraints to dispersal. Our work aims at reconstructing the hydrographical network during the Neogene. The widespread african catfish genus Synodontis (Mochokidae, Siluriformes) is used as a proxy: its abundance in the fossil record together with an important modern diversity implies a complex history for the African freshwater. So far, the Synodontis species are recognized on soft characters. Here, I propose a study of the bony anatomy of extant Synodontis species from the Nilo-Soudan province and propose specific osteological characters. Those characters are used in the fossil to recognize specimens at a specific level throughout Mio-Pliocene sites of Africa (Chad, Egypt, Tunisia, and Uganda). A molecular phylogeography of Synodontis species is established. To reconstruct history of the group, we combined molecular and osteological analyses. The evolution of the group is structured around the Central African Shear Zone and influenced by the formation of the Rift. The Synodontis origin is Congolese and roots in the Oligocene (~30 Myr). Rapidly, they disperse in the Nilo-Sudan and Lower Guinean provinces. Our results support an ancient drainage system independent from the Nil, extending from West to East Africa and operating during the Middle Miocene. In the Late Miocene, distribution of the Synodontis species appears much more heterogeneous than the modern one. The intensive Plio-Pleistocene exchanges in the Nilo-Sudan province have greatly contributed to homogenize the ichtyofauna and to give the modern pattern of distribution

@Comique ou tragique, le théâtre de Pinter? Dérangée dans ses habitudes, la critique s'est parfois montrée incapable de répondre. Avec jubilation, Pinter détruit la tradition théâtrale et multiplie les énigmes. L'image du labyrinthe domine ce théâtre : éperdus d'angoisse, étouffés par la solitude, pris au piège d'une action souvent circulaire, captifs du temps et de l'espace, esclaves du langage, bref pris dans une spirale infernale, les personnages pintériens refusent catégoriquement l'idée du suicide qui pourra mettre fin à̧ une situation devenue insupportable. Plus que jamais, ils sont contraints de mentir, de trahir, afin de pouvoir survivre dans un monde de violence et de conflit qui les prive de tout attribut humain, les réduit à de simples objets. Ils s'acharnent alors sur tous ceux qu'ils jugent inférieurs, violent les lois sacrées du mariage, de l'amitié ou de l'hospitalité, espérant ainsi faire valoir leurs fins envers et contre tous. Pinter suscite l'insolite mais nous laisse dans l'épouvante, le rire devient grinçant et désespéré. Le spectateur et le lecteur se trouvent à leur tout enfermés dans un labyrinthe où l'auteur les laisse prisonniers
@Is the theatre of Pinter comic or tragic? The critics are sometimes puzzled. With success, Pinter bowls-over the dominating theatrical tradition, multiplies riddles. The image of labyrinth prevails in his theatre. Nothing in his characters' life is firm, not their physical context, nor their own memory. They feel scared, are crushed by loneliness, time and space. Even in the language they use, one can see that they don't really communicate. Amidst torment and suffering, Pinter's characters refuse the idea of suicide, fight for survival in a violent and arbitrary world that deprives them of all human aspects, reduces them to mere objects. They cheat each other, hide behind a role which is false, shift their ground in relation to each other in order to pursue their own advantages. Resumen
On expose ici deux méthodes de déformation de globules rouges. La première méthode constituée de deux faisceaux laser contre propageant non focalisés est appelée « optical stretcher ». On y décrit les forces et stress appliqués à la cellule pour ensuite déterminer la déformation. La comparaison des résultats théoriques avec les expériences réalisées a permis de déterminer l’élasticité membranaire à (20±2)μNm-1. Une méthode originale n’utilisant aucun système d’imagerie et permettant de mesurer la déformation de la cellule déformée en utilisant le couplage résiduel dans les fibres optique est mathématiquement expliquée et les résultats théoriques utilisés pour étudier la faisabilité d’une telle expérience. La seconde méthode appelée « oscillating tweezer » est constituée d’une trappe optique à forte ouverture numérique où un modulateur acousto-optique permet de changer discrètement la position du foyer de la trappe avec une fréquence ajustable. A basse fréquence, la cellule se dandine de gauche à droite, mais à plus haute fréquence, la cellule se déforme. On expliquera donc l’origine de la déformation causée par la distribution de la force. Une théorie approximative est présentée pour calculer la déformation. Encore une fois, une comparaison avec les expériences réalisées a été effectuée. L’élasticité membranaire pour des globules rouges humains a pu être mesurée entre 20uNm-1 et 29uNm-1 et autour de 11uNm-1 pour des globules rouges de souris.
Two methods for deforming red blood cell (RBC) are studied. The first method is made of a non focalised dual beam counter-propagating optical stretcher. The stress and forces applied to the cell are described and analysed to compute the resulting deformation. The comparison with experimental result is made and allows to determinate the elasticity of human RBC at (20±2)μNm-1. An original method using no imaging system and allowing to measure the cells deformation by using the fiber-to-fiber coupling is mathematically explained and used to study the feasibility of such an experiment. The other method called oscillating tweezers is built from a high numerical aperture optical tweezers where an acousto-optic modulator allows to discretely changing the focal position at a given frequency. At low frequency, the cell moves from left to right, however at higher frequency, the RBC deform. The origin of the deformation is explained by calculating an approximate stress distribution. Here again, we compare the results with the experimental work. The value of elasticity found for human RBC is between 20uNm-1 and 29uNm-1 and around 11uNm-1 for mice RBC.

L'hesitation, le tatonnement sont les caracteristiques de ce que connait tout personnage pinterien aux prises avec la definition meme de son angoisse. Le contexte materiel des personnages dramatiques de pinter sert souvent de miroir catalyseur a un sentiment deja existant en eux. Ils inventent leur contexte plus qu'ils ne le vivent, ce qui fait de la plupart des pieces de pinter davantage une dramatisation des pensees fluntuantes des personnages. L'insecurite chez l'antagoniste du theatre pinterien est essentiellement d'origine existentielle. Soucieux de preserver son identite, si toutefois il parvient a s'en acquerir une, et excessivement mefiant, il ira jusqu'a mentir, trahir. Meme la memoire devient adversaire lorsqu'elle cesse d'etre un refuge securisant. Le langage est primordial chez pinter, car c7est le moyen dramatique qui revele ou obscurcit le personnage. Le verbe est ambigu, mysterieux. Si la psychologie populaire est basee sur l'estime excessive de soi et si pour certains comme sartre, "l'enfer c'est les autres", pinter, lui, defend farouchement la double sauvegarde des personnalites individuelles et des etres humains en tant que race. L'axe psychologique des pieces de pinter est double d'une dimension sociale et ethique tres active, quoique moins dominante avant 1984. Mais pinter ne se contente pas de denoncer la corruption morale du monde
Most of pinter's characters know what it is to be puzzled by a human relationship, to be aware of sudden changes and insecurities in it, finding suddenly boggy ground under their feet or shifting sand where there had been a firm path. They all know how no relationship is static but continually changing and developing, and have experienced the sense of personal insecurity this can give. Nothing in their lives is firm and stable; not their physical contexts nor their own memory. Language is essential in pinter's theatre: often bearing threatening messages, words, spoken or hushed, are all ambiguous and mysterious. Pinter's characteres feels their very selves threatened: and this self is the most important thing there is. They all emerge shadowy, tenuous, menaced, cheating each other, hiding behind a role which is false, shifting their ground in relation to each other in order to pursue their own advantage. Pinter is one of the most perceptive and able dramatists to express human insecurity. Risking his reputation, pinter confesses doing "agit-prop" since 1984, but actually, has always been preoccupied with the way in which people change their roles in any relationship, and with any kind of oppression. Together with its psychological aspect, pinter's theatre. .

Dans le théâtre d’Harold Pinter, l’excentricité de l’espace littéraire – tout à la fois Alaska, désert du Sahara, Méditerranée, île au Trésor ou tropicale, terrain de cricket, terrier, palaces fantômes voire camps de concentration – contredit sans cesse le naturalisme de la scène. Les paysages en filigranes que dessine le discours exilent le spectateur dans un « profond jadis » innommable auquel il doit faire face. L’odyssée des spectres commence dès l’ouverture du rideau et fait totalement disparaître le réalisme du décor ; la demeure qu’habitent tant bien que mal les personnages échoue sur un rivage spectral et sauvage. Otage de cette hantise du discours, le public assiste impuissant à la défiguration de l’humain. La violence d’un tel théâtre se situe précisément dans cette oblitération esthétique du visage qui, pour Lévinas, est l’expression même de l’injustice, et que nous nommons « poéthique »
In Harold Pinter’s theatre, the eccentricity of literary space – all at once Alaska, the Sahara desert, the Mediterranean, Treasure or tropical islands, cricket grounds, rabbit holes, ghostly palaces even concentration camps – relentlessly contradicts the naturalism of the stage. The filigree landscapes recollected through dialogues and stage directions, exile the audience to a deep and unnamable past that must be responsibly faced. A gothic odyssey sets off as soon as the curtain rises and wholly dissolves the realism of the scenery; the rooms which the characters somehow inhabit end up wrecked on foreign and inhospitable shores. The public is held hostage by this haunted language and witnesses helplessly the defacement of humanity. Such a theatrical violence lies precisely in the aesthetic obliteration of the Face which, for Lévinas, is the very expression of injustice, and that we named “poethics”

L'objecte d'estudi d'aquesta tesi sorgeix de diverses consideracions. En primer lloc, si bé les referències a l'ús del llenguatge en les obres de H. Pinter són relativament abundoses en la critica corresponent, la major part se centren en el que s'anomena la textura del llenguatge. Això suposa deixar de banda l'estructura dels diàlegs i, per tant, passar per alt el tret distintiu de qualsevol text dramàtic: el seu caràcter interactiu. D'altra banda, aquesta no és una tendència exclusiva de la critica pinteriana. sinó que, en general, hi ha una manca d'estudis sobre l'estructura del diàleg dramàtic. En aquest marc, l'aportació principal de la tesi consisteix a proposar una via d'aproximació alternativa a la producció teatral pinteriana a partir de l'anàlisi detinguda de l'estructura dels seus diàlegs. L'objectiu fonamental de l'anàlisi consisteix a tractar de demostrar que la producció teatral de Pinter tematitza el llenguatge, tot entenent-lo com a mecanisme de poder, susceptible de ser utilitzat per tal de negociar rols i relacions, així com per construir versions de la realitat i mirar d'imposar-les als altres. Aquest objectiu s'assoleix mitjançant l'anàlisi detallada dels diàlegs de sis textos de Pinter provinents de diferents moments de la seva carrera: The Room (1957), The Birthday Party (1957), The Caretaker (1960), The Homecoming (1965), Old Times (1971) i Mountain Language (1988).

Per delimitar encara més l'objecte d'estudi, la tesi parteix de les tres funcions del diàleg dramàtic que la semiologia contemporània considera bàsiques: la deictica, la referencial i la pragmàtica. La tercera, que és fonamental en qualsevol obra dramàtica ja que és responsable que el diàleg n'encarni l'acció, assoleix una prominència insòlita en la producció teatral de Pinter fins a principis dels anys 80, prominència que respon precisament a l'intent per part de l'autor de tematitzar una preocupació fonamental pel llenguatge com a mecanisme constructor de relacions i de realitats. En la tesi se suggereix que en l'obra dramàtica de Pinter fins a la dècada dels 80 es produeix un fenomen de desautomatització de la funció pragmàtica que la fa especialment tangible, la problematitza. També s'apunta que aquesta innovació formal és la principal causant de la idiosincràsia dels diàlegs pinterians i, també, allò que pot explicar bona part de la història de la recepció critica de la producció teatral de l'autor.

És precisament per tal de respectar aquesta idiosincràsia i, alhora, dur a terme l'objectiu abans mencionat, que les eines que s'apliquen a l'estudi de l'estructura dels diàlegs pinterians provenen de l'anàlisi del discurs: es tracta dels conceptes fonamentals de la teoria dels actes de parla, del principi de Cooperació de H.P. Grice i les diverses possibilitats de transgressió de les seves màximes, del treball de J. Laver sobre la comunicació fàtica, del sistema (pro)nominal i la seva càrrega funcional, i del Principi de Cortesia de G.N. Leech.

L'ús d'aquest model analític aporta nova llum sobre els textos pinterians seleccionats i permet d'assolir l'objectiu de la tesi anteriorment esmentat. Així, l'anàlisi de The Room mira de proporcionar una alternativa a les lectures de caire simbòlic que se"n solen fer, tot argumentant que es tracta d'una obra pionera des del punt de vista de l'exploració pinteriana del llenguatge com a mecanisme constructor de relacions i de versions de la realitat. De fet, Rose, el personatge principal, encarna un prototip dins de la producció teatral de Pinter: el del personatge que utilitza el llenguatge per construir una versió de la realitat i tractar d'imposar-la als altres. De The Birthday Party cal destacar-ne l'anihilació lingüística a què es veu sotmès Stanley en l'escena de l'in- terrogatori, que arrenca d'arrel el pilar bàsic de la seva existència: el llenguatge, l'eina que li permet de construir mons alternatius per mitigar el seu sentiment de fracàs en el present. Durant l'interrogatori, Goldberg i McCann posen en joc un seguit de recursos verbals per tal de crear una ficció comunicativa que els permeti obligar Stanley a acceptar el paper subordinat de simple "contestador" i, finalment, reduir-lo a la impotència lingüística. L'acció de The Caretaker se centra en el procés d'exploració mútua entre Aston, Mick i Davies, procés en el qual cadascun fa ús d'estratègies d'interacció verbal clarament diferenciades: des de la falta de perspicàcia lingüística d'Aston al control absolut dels recursos verbals de Mick, passant per les limitades i repetitives estratagemes de Davies. L'obra s"estructura al voltant del doble motiu contacte/separació, si bé, com demostra l'anàlisi corresponent, no es tracta d'una equivalència unívoca entre paraula i contacte, silenci i separació.

The Homecoming és una de les peces més complexes i controvertides de l'autor. Pinter hi explora l'ús del llenguatge en la construcció d'estructures de poder en l'entorn familiar i en el context de la relació entre els dos sexes, tot apuntant al fet que el repartiment de rols que s'hi sol produir és el resultat d'una lluita pel poder en què el llenguatge, com a mediatitzador de la realitat, juga un paper fonamental. La peça gira a l'entorn de l'encontre entre dues unitats familiars cadascuna de les quals conté una veu subversiva: Lenny i Ruth. L'acostament que protagonitzen al llarg de l'obra culmina amb la construcció d'una nova estructura familiar amb ells al centre. Però la seva victòria està basada en una ambigilitat radical que posa en qüestió el paper subversiu que juguen durant bona part de l'obra: a l'últim, no són capaços de transcendir uns esquemes apresos i imbricats en el propi llenguatge. En The Homecoming també es consolida el recurs consistent en la narració o construcció verbal de versions del passat per part dels personatges amb intencions estratègiques en el present. Aquest recurs es detecta ja, fragmentàriament, en The Room, i va en augment en la producció teatral pinteriana fins que assoleix un punt culminant en Old Times. En aquesta obra, el passat té una existència purament verbal, i Kate, Deeley i Anna, per torns, s'erigeixen en narradors dels vells temps. Les diverses versions del passat, per tant, no són més o menys "certes", sinó que totes exemplifiquen el tema tipicament pinterià de la construcció verbal dels fets segons les necessitats estratègiques del present. En definitiva, en l'anàlisi d'Old Times ha resultat imprescindible insistir en l'enorme pes de la funció pragmàtica: els discursos narratius dels tres personatges són, sobretot, actes de parla i, per tant, el seu principal mitjà d'interacció.

En les cinc peces comentades fins ara, i en especial en Old Times, la realitat se'ns presenta com a inconstatable sotmesa a una multiplicació incansable de construccions verbals per part dels personatges. En canvi, les obres politiques de Pinter posteriors a 1980, com ara Mountain Language, posen de manifest un element de ruptura fonamental, ja que si bé el llenguatge com a constructor de relacions i de realitats continua sent la preocupació central del dramaturg, la seva actitud davant d'aquest fenomen sembla haver variat: ara és un atribut exclusiu dels representants de l'estat represor, i és presentat com un mecanisme de control i de manipulació que cal denunciar i condemnar. Paral.lelament, es produeix una reivindicació de la importància de la funció referencial com a via d'expressió de realitats verificables i indubtables, com ara la repressió i la tortura.
This thesis puts forward an alternative approach to the study of language in the plays or Harold Pinter which is based on the analysis of the structure of dramatic dialogue. Six plays by Pinter are selected from different points in his career ("The Room" (1957), "The Birthday Party" (1957), "The Caretaker" (1960), "The Homecoming" (1965), "Old Times" (1971), and "Mountain Language" (1988)), and their dialogue is analysed by means of tools derived from Discourse Analysis: the basic notions in Speech Act theory, H.P. Grice's Cooperative Principle, J. Laver's work on phatic communion, the functional load of the (pro)nominal system, and G.N. Leech's PoIiteness Principle. It is argued that in Pinter's work for the stage language is presented as a power device, as the means through which characters negotiate roles and relationships, and also construct versions of reality which they attempt to impose on others. Such a view of language becomes thematised in Pinter's drama. In his output up to 1980, the thematisation of verbal interaction is reflected in a foregrounding of the pragmatic function of dramatic dialogue which, it is claimed. may account for the frequently mentioned idiosyncratic nature of Pinter's language, as well as for much of the history of the critical reception of his work, Language as power is still the playwright's major concern after 1980, but as his plays have become openly politicised, so they have begun to insist on the value of the referential function as the means to express unquestionable realities, such as torture. The strategic exploitation of the pragmatic function is presented in Pinter's post-1980 plays, such as "Mountain Language", as a tool for political manipulation and oppression and, thus, as a phenomenon to be denounced and condemned.

Les chambres à cathéter implantables (CCI) sont utilisées pour des traitements intraveineux itératifs et/ou de longue durée. Leur emploi génère des complications à court et à long terme. Suite à des mésusages les autorités de santé (AS) ont diffusé des recommandations sur l'abord sous-clavier (SC) et les accessoires des CCI. Un bilan relatif à la matériovigilance (MTV) des CCI en France a été mené (2001 à 2003). Parmi les 260 dossiers envoye��s à l'AFSSaPS, 61 fissures de cathéter (KT), 101 ruptures de KT et 37 déconnexions ont été déclarées. 101 embolies de cathéter ont été signalées. La voie d'abord est renseignée dans 176 dossiers : dans 70 % des cas il s'agit de la veine SC, responsable de 54 compressions et de 36 embolies de KT. Dans 50 % des cas, l'incident est lié à un mésusage et dans 20 % des cas l'expertise ne retrouve pas la cause. Ces résultats incitent à la réflexion et à l'élaboration de consensus entre les utilisateurs. Des actions correctives seront-elles prises par les AS?
The subcutaneous implantable devices (SID) are used for long or repetitive intravascular treatment. They are associated with complications and human errors : so the french competent authorities (CA) wrote some recommendations regarding the subclavian (SC) access and the accessories used with the SID. A medical device vigilance study of the SID was carried out in France (2001-2003). The AFSSaPS received 260 initial reports : 61 catheter (KT) cracks, 101 KT sections and 37 disconnections. The intravascular access was described for 176 cases : it was the SC vein in 70% of the cases and it is responsible of 54 compressions and 36 KT embolizations. In 50% of cases the event is due to an human error and in 20% of cases the event cause wasn't found. These results incite to write news recommendations and to have news reflections from the users and the CA

Aborder la rhétorique du silence chez Pinter revient à examiner à la fois ce qui se passe sur scène, dans le texte poétique, et à jeter un regard sur les différents média dont son théâtre se sert pour aborder des thèmes liés à la guerre, à la menace, à l'existence, à la philosophie et à la métaphysique. Il y est aussi question de voir le rapport de cette modalité du langage à l'outil linguistique. L'ontologie du silence à permis de comprendre, qu'il s'agisse dans la communication ou dans la représentation, que cette réalité ne peut être compréhensible qu'à l'ombre de l'élément verbal. Le silence peut être perçu comme ce qui se dérobe à toute tentative de mise à mots. Pour nous imprégner du contenu de ce que Pinter cherche à nous faire parvenir, nous devons considérer ce sous-territoire verbal constitués de non-dits, d'allusions, de sous-entendus, mais également des espaces de l’indétermination. Et comme le langage n'est pas toujours téléologiquement motivé par l'expressivité, son caractère ambivalent, elliptique, fragmentaire, minimaliste et ésotérique constitue un défi pour le public. Cependant, l'étude étiologique (causes) du silence montre que tout ne peut s'expliquer par les limites, les failles et les impossibilités du langage et par le refus de l'engagement du locuteur ou de son capital cognitif et épistémologique. Le temps représente un obstacle majeur dans les efforts de l'homme d'expliquer des événements, faits antérieurs. S'il est difficile de parler précisément et objectivement du passé et du futur, nommer ou désigner ce qui se passe sous les yeux semble l'être également. En plus de la labilité et de l'oubli, la complexité des choses à dire peut aussi signifier l'arrêt définitif ou temporaire de tout discours. Avant l'échéance eschatologique, le silence n'est absolument pas un vide, un néant, même si des pesanteurs d'ordre encratique, idéologique et social rendent compte de la contrainte à laquelle sur tout sujet parlant est appelé à faire face. LE silence qui traverse le théâtre de Pinter est différent de cette absence de parole qu'impose la mort. Il n'est donc pas néontique, parce qu'il se justifie, d'une part, par une option artistique, et d'autre part, par le désir de nous rappeler qui nous sommes. Ce sont nos mots et nos silences qui font de nous ce que nous sommes dans ou sans interaction subjective : une entité sonore et une autre silencieuse. Tout être langagier est fait de ce qui s'énonce clairement et de ce qui ne cesse de s'échapper à toute expression verbale.Le choix porté sur l'adaptation cinématographique des pièces de Pinter obéit à l'effort de montrer que, quand les mots n'arrivent plus à dire, il faut se tourner vers des données sémiologiques, sémiotiques et somatico-gestuelles. Le genre poétique est un autre moyen par lequel les voix du silence nous parviennent à travers les allusions, les images et les symboles. Dans l’œuvre artistique de Pinter, le silence n'a pas qu'une signification mais aussi un rôle, une nature et des limites. Le silence n'est pas exclusivement dans le tacite ou le caché : il se trouve également dans ce qui se montre ou ce qui s'entend. Ce théâtre rappelle qu'à l'image du langage, le silence est une forme d'expression qui exige du spectateur une profonde attention pour comprendre le message qu'il entend lui faire passer. Par ailleurs, la protologie du silence révèle que d'autres arts de la scène tels que le praxis orchésale et la pratique musicale doivent leur existence à la réalité silencieuse. Vu que le silence sous-tend les moyens d'expression et de communication humaines, cela révèle du bon sens de lui reconnaître comme forme vivante. Le silence est à la fois une force centrifuge et centripète, car tout part de lui et retourne à son sein. Il est à l'origine de toute chose, et il survivra toute existence
The main purpose of this research is not only to try to grasp the meaning of the unsaid and the hidden in the artistic work of Harold Pinter, but first and foresmost to show that language can neither have a meaning nor be made out if we do not consider what is lying underneath or if we disregard any reading between the lines. Even if it's obvious that the stage is more often than not under the yoke of words, the gist of any play is to be looked for in silence. In Pinter's dramatic world, silence can be understood as what cannot be said, what is not thoroughly said, what is not clearly expressed, what is not yet said, what will never be said. It can be due to many reasons, a silence may be observed under duress, as it may be made purposefully. The body language is more than important, for what is displayed through it can urge any shrewd spectator to muse upon what is beyond his eyes. Since words and images are not often reliable, the work of any spectator is to ponder over what is shown or said to him. And like any tool of communication, silence requires a text and a context to yield the substance emnodied in it. Any attempt to sever the language of words from that of silence is doomed to failure. Silence per se is the realm of silent words. Before being uttered, any word was first kept in silence. All discourses stem from silence, and whilst some can reach the listener, others need a particular attention, whence our interest in Pinter's early poems. The silence we'redealing with is not a void. It's pregnant with meaning and cannot be avoided as long as we're able to speak or we're potential locutors

Le présent travail s’intéresse à une sélection de pièces de Harold Pinter comprises entre Landscape (1968) et Ashes to Ashes (1996) et généralement regroupées par la critique sous le terme « pièces de la mémoire ». Si ces œuvres sont souvent évoquées en raison de leur préoccupation pour le passé et de leur qualité intime et méditative, une approche sous l’angle de la spectralité révèle en quoi elles dépassent une présentation du souvenir afin de mettre en lumière l’impact du passé sur le présent et, de manière plus générale, l’impact des vies sur d’autres vies. Grâce aux diverses manifestations spectrales, l’image du personnage pinterien solitaire et fonctionnant de manière autonome laisse place à une conception du sujet prenant en compte les rapports de dépendance et d’interdépendance le reliant à autrui.Dans une exploration de la dépendance par son négatif, une première partie examine les formes de ruptures instaurées par la spectralité, observant en quoi les fantômes s’inscrivent à première vue comme radicalement autres, à la frontière entre le visible et l’invisible, le passé et le présent, le représentable et l’irreprésentable. Toutefois, une seconde partie analyse en quoi la spectralité ne peut en fait se comprendre que comme profondément liée : ce qui paraissait étranger se révèle familier, l’absence se lit comme deuil et les obstacles à la représentation fonctionnent comme indices de la nature orectique du sujet. Une troisième partie analyse la vulnérabilité révélée au-delà de cette dépendance essentielle : en soulignant la passivité du corps et les échecs de la connaissance, la spectralité ne cesse de mettre en relief les limites du sujet. Pourtant, cette vulnérabilité n’est pas perçue comme paralysante mais au contraire comme le fondement possible d’une éthique dans laquelle le sujet prendrait en charge une responsabilité envers l’autre auquel il est inévitablement lié
This study focuses on a selection of Harold Pinter’s plays, from Landscape (1968) to Ashes to Ashes (1996), commonly referred to by critics as “memory plays”. Their emphasis on the past and their meditative dimension is often commented on, but tackling these plays through the notion of spectrality reveals how they go beyond a representation of memory to highlight the impact of the past on the present as well as the impact of lives on other lives. The image of the solitary and independent Pinterian character gives way to the vision of a subject taking into account his/her dependence and interdependence and the links uniting him/her to others.The first part explores dependence through its opposite, rupture, looking at how ghosts may seem radically other, in between the visible and the invisible, past and present, representation and the failure of representation. Nevertheless, the second part suggests that spectrality can actually only be understood as necessarily linked: what seemed foreign is revealed as familiar, absence is perceived as loss and the obstacles to representation become clues hinting at the orectic nature of the individual. The third part focuses on the vulnerability revealed beneath dependence: by highlighting the limits of embodiment as well as of rational knowledge, spectrality repeatedly emphasizes the limitations of the subject. However, this vulnerability lays the foundation for an ethics in which the subject would accept to bear responsibility for the other to whom s/he is inevitably related

Les romans publiés par Beckett, Pinget et Simon dans les années 1950, créent un indéniable effet de "lecture difficile". Un tel effet s'explique principalement par le travail très net sur les formes langagières auquel se livrent des textes qui sont autant de manifestes pratiques d'une volonté d'écrire autrement le roman et sont emblématiques des diverses entreprises regroupées par la critique sous l'étiquette de "Nouveau Roman". Si l'on peut parler à leur sujet d'expérimentation syntaxique, c'est qu'ils présentent une série de traits mettant à mal l'unité écrite de la phrase, notion bien souvent critiquée, mais graphiquement pertinente : elle correspond à une conscience épilinguistique largement partagée, et elle seule permet de rendre compte des opérations de discontinuité syntaxique, prédicative et énonciative multipliées dans le corpus. On montre cependant comment les difficultés de lecture sont ici largement levées par la reconnaissance spontanée de patrons stylistiques, ancrés dans l'histoire des formes de la modernité romanesque et définissant un roman phénoménologique. Analyser ces textes en partant de la catégorie de phrase permet non seulement de comprendre ce que peut être une écriture de la conscience et du temps, mais aussi de replacer les entreprises de Beckett, Pinget et Simon dans un moment de la poétique du roman et de la langue littéraire
One cannot read Beckett, Pinget and Simon's first novels without a sense that they are "difficult texts". As practical manifestoes, these works, which are also representative of the French "New Novel" and imply a strong will to discover new generical paths, carry on an in-depth syntactical experimentation, based on a series of operations that put the sentence-unit at stake. The sentence has indeed–in spite of all the debates it has raised–an indeniable graphic relevance. Not only does it match with the most widely shared epilinguitic schemes, but it alone accounts for the phenomena of syntactic, predicative and enunciative discontinuity the corpus shows. Difficulties of reading are nevertheless partially or totally overcome when one identifies the stylistic patterns progressively developed by modern novelistic prose in its attempt to define a phenomenological writing. Focusing on the sentence level makes us able to bring to light how Beckett, Pinget and Simon "write" consciousness and time, and gives us a valuable insight on their situation in a particular moment of the poetics of the novel and of the literary use of language

The distribution of Heterobasidion annosum in Scots pine stands in Nemenčinė Forest Enterprise, Mera and Magūnai forest districts were examined in this Master thesis. The object of the study: Scots pine stands that were established on formerly used agricultural land, former tank range areas and the stands growing in the cut areas of mature stands. Also, the Scots pine stands where after partly clear sanitation cuttings the birch groups were planted, in purpose to avoid the disturbances of Heterobasidion annosum. The aim of the study: to summaries the information about the distribution of Heterobasidion annosum in Lithuanian forests; to study the distribution of Heterobasidion annosum in Scots pine plantations established in agricultural lands and the cut areas of mature stands. The evaluation of the effectiveness of earlier used partly clear sanitation cuttings against Heterobasidion annosum in disturbed stands was also done. Methods: the distribution of Heterobasidion annosum in the forests of Nemenčinė Forest Enterprise, Mera forest district was evaluated visually. Each studied plot was evaluated according 4 grades. 6 assessment plots in Magūnai forest district were evaluated for the effectiveness of partly clear sanitation cuttings. The stand characteristics of the remained healthy pine and birch trees were measured using standard silvicultural mensuration methods, taking the measurements of each tree at breast height, in 2 cm precision. A inovação tem sido amplamente reconhecida como um dos principais fatores que criam vantagem competitiva para as empresas. Contudo, embora as empresas continuem a estimular a adoção de práticas inovadoras em sua gestão, evidencias empíricas entre investimentos em inovação e consequentes resultados financeiros superiores ainda permanecem inconclusivos. O presente estudo visa, a partir de uso de abordagem multinível, avaliar a relação entre investimentos em inovação e o aumento de relevância de novos produtos no faturamento das empresas, e, seu consequente impacto no desempenho financeiro. Os resultados obtidos indicam que investimentos em inovação levam as empresas a terem maior participação de novos produtos em sua receita total. Entretanto, não foi encontrado relação significante entre a maior participação de produtos inovadores com crescimento e lucratividade dessas empresas. Limitações e implicações dessa pesquisa também são discutidos nesse trabalho.
Innovation has been recognized as one of the main factors behind competitive advantage over firms. Nonetheless, although innovation practices have been stimulated among several companies, the link between investments in innovation and financial performance of the firms is still a complex subject where the results remain inconclusive. This study evaluates this relationship by using a multilevel model between innovation, innovation performance and financial performance. Results obtained indicate that investments in innovation leads to a positive and significance increase of innovation performance of the firms, which could be measure by the increased participation on new products’ revenue over total revenue. However, the study could not assert the impact of innovation performance on the financial performance of the firms, measured in this work by growth and profitability. Limitations and implications of these findings are also discussed in this work.

Le deuil et la mélancolie sont au cœur des derniers textes de Samuel Beckett, Roger Pinget et Claude Simon. Ces auteurs partagent une même inquiétude portant sur l’écriture et sur ses relations avec le sujet, ses démons et le monde. La conscience d’une lacune inhérente à l’écriture conduit chacun d’eux à explorer cette perte même. Ecriture d’un deuil sans fin, écritures de la mélancolie. Après avoir dressé l’inventaire des objets perdus mais également de ceux qui restent et avec lesquels l’écrivain peut seulement compter – les mots, sa mélancolie -, nous montrons comment le deuil du monde s’inscrit dans le texte, à travers des voix, des rythmes, des images. Enfin, nous nous demandons dans quelle mesure chacune des trois esthétiques peut être reliée à une éthique moderne de la mélancolie, fondée sur l’acceptation voire l’exigence de l’incertitude, de la distance, et d’un nouveau tragique
Mourning and melancholy are central to the last texts of Samuel Beckett, Robert Pinget and Claude Simon. These authors share the same sense of disquiet about writing and its relation to the subject, its phantoms and the world. Each writer identifies writing as fundamentally deriving from a sense of loss and it is this very sense of loss that they explore, giving a form of writing characterised by an unrelieved sense of mourning and melancholy. The thesis will first establish a classification of things lost, while also identifying what it is that remains in the text, those aspects alone which the writer can count on-words and his sens of melancholy. From here the thesis will then indicate how mourning is expressed within the text, though voices, rhytms and images. Finally the thesis will explore to what extent the aesthetic of each writer can be linked to a wider, modern ethics of melancholy, founded on accepting and even demanding doubt, distance and and new tragic mode

Slash pile burning is the most common method of forest residue disposal following ponderosa pine restoration harvests, which are intended to reduce the risk of catastrophic fire and restore the historical structure and function of forests in western Montana. The impact of high-intensity, long-duration fire (pile burning) on soil processes and plant community dynamics is not well understood. The objectives of this study were: (1) to characterize the influence of slash pile burning on soil nutrient availability, soil microbial activity, and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) infection; (2) to compare seeding and soil amendment effects on burn scars. In May 2006, slash piles were burned in a ponderosa pine stand near Florence, Montana and 45 scars were sampled. Soil samples were collected from three locations in each slash pile to a depth of 10 cm and characterized for available soil NH4 +-N, NO3 - -N, potentially mineralizable nitrogen (PMN), and total C and N, water-soluble PO4 3- -P, microbial biomass, and mycorrhizal inoculum potential (MIP). In the burned center, soil NH4 +-N was greatest one month post-burn and remained elevated one year later. There was no observable increase in NO3 - -N until one year post-burn. Soluble PO4 3- -P was not impacted by burning. Microbial biomass was reduced by burning and did not recover one year later. Pile burning greatly reduced MIP. In October 2006, fire scars were either seeded with native graminoids or left non-seeded, divided into subplots, and assigned to one of five treatments: control, addition of local organic matter, scarification, scarification and organic matter addition, or scarification and commercial compost addition. Soils were monitored for the previously measured soil parameters and resin-sorbed inorganic N. Scarification with organic matter amendment and scarification with compost amendment both ameliorated soil properties. Seeding most effectively increased plant cover and suppressed non-native invasive species, while scarification or scarification with organic matter amendment further improved early plant establishment. Collectively, these data help characterize the impacts of slash pile burning as a management technique in ponderosa pine forests and illustrate potential treatments for restoring burn pile scars.

Esta pesquisa analisa o re-enactment (Lepecki, 2010) no filme Pinta como um fluxo de memória na dança contemporânea. O filme Pinta (2013) tem direção do artista Jorge Alencar e “Dimenti - produtora cultural e ambiente de criação artística”. O estudo aporta-se na compreensão de que a obra artística contemporânea, pode não limitar sua materialização a uma determinada linguagem, e que a quantidade crescente de re-enactments do corpo na dança contemporânea, não se restringem só ao palco enquanto espaço cênico para a dança, mas em distintas intermediações que favorecem e produzem transformações e atualizações. A escolha do tema se justifica pelo interesse de aprofundar conhecimentos sobre as relações complexas da dança contemporânea e seus possíveis e inesgotáveis processos de sentidos, no intuito de elaborar princípios, técnicas e aspectos composicionais que ativam estéticas de obras passadas para o presente. A metodologia de trabalho é de característica qualitativa, com estudo de caso, utiliza entrevista semiestruturada, questionário e os registros videográficos de espetáculos e filmes utilizados para montagem de Pinta. Para referenciar discussões sobre re-enactment, dança contemporânea, hibridismo de processos compositivos foram acessados principalmente os textos dos autores Agamben (2009), Canclini (2008), Lepecki (2010), e finalmente para falar de corpo numa aproximação dos processos evolutivos que o corpo está envolvido com a memória, trazemos Greiner e Katz (2005). Ao analisar o processo de Pinta foi possível perceber que o filme produz um fluxo contínuo de memória a partir de materiais artísticos descontínuos, em ação para novas significações. Desse modo, é possível entender o re-enactment como uma prática de revisitamentos de desejos identificados tanto no artista como na obra, ambos são atingidos pelo desejo de presença.

La comédie de menace, expression utilisée pour la première fois par le critique de théâtre Irving Wardle en 1958, est devenue aujourd’hui une notion stéréotypée, appliquée de manière systématique au théâtre d’Harold Pinter. Cette thèse, en proposant de nouveaux critères de définition à la fois sémiotiques et esthétiques, vise à réhabiliter ce genre qui ne cesse de se développer depuis les années 1950, chez des auteurs tels que David Campton, Caryl Churchill et Martin Crimp. Ce théâtre repose tout d’abord sur un renversement entre intrus et autochtone qui n’a jamais été exploré depuis son évocation par Irving Wardle. La sémiotique horizontale du dehors vers le dedans, associée au phénomène d’intrusion, est remplacée par une sémiotique verticale du surgissement : la menace émane des sous-sols et des profondeurs du moi dans une double acception topographique et psychanalytique. Théâtre de l’inversion, mais aussi de l’implicite : la comédie de menace suggère l’horreur plutôt qu’elle ne la donne à voir. Ce refus de l’opsis n’est toutefois pas synonyme d’euphémisation de la violence. Enfin, l’insertion de passages ludiques ne permet pas d’atténuer l’atmosphère menaçante mais décuple au contraire le malaise du lecteur-spectateur. Les dramaturges de la menace proposent ainsi un nouveau genre de comédie qui induit une nouvelle esthétique de la réception
First used by the theatre critic Irving Wardle in 1958, the expression comedy of menace has become a catch-all phrase systematically applied to Harold Pinter. This thesis aims at redefining this genre, both semiotically and aesthetically, as well as restoring it to favour by showing that it has considerably evolved since the 1950s in the plays of David Campton, Caryl Churchill and Martin Crimp. This theatre first hinges on a reversal between intruders and inhabitants which has not been studied since it was identified by Irving Wardle. The horizontal semiotics linked to the intrusion motif is replaced by a vertical semiotics: menace looms up from the basements and the depths of the ego in a topographical and psychological perspective. Comedy of menace relies on inversion as well as unspoken feelings; it suggests horror rather than displaying it, yet it does not minimize violence. The comic interludes do not alleviate the menacing atmosphere but on the contrary enhance the spectators’ unease. The playwrights studied here thus devise a new comic genre which induces a new aesthetic of reception

La photosynthèse fait appel à des antennes collectrices de lumière constituées de chlorophylles parallèles les unes aux autres capables d'absorber des photons et d'acheminer leur énergie le long du groupe de pigments vers le centre réactionnel où sera transformée l'énergie photonique en énergie chimique nécessaire à la croissance des plantes. Afin de tenter d'organiser des porphyrines dans l'espace de façon similaire au système naturel, des espaceurs de type di-éthynyl-anthracène ont été choisis pour l'élaboration de multi-porphyrines dans le but de maintenir les porphyrines en position cofaciale. Une pince étendue, constituée de deux porphyrines reliées entre elles par un espaceur tris-anthracénique, a été synthétisée. La présence de jonctions acétyléniques permet une libre rotation de long des triples liaisons tout en maintenant une orientation cofaciale des porphyrines, constituant ainsi une cavité ajustable susceptible d'accueillir des hôtes de tailles variées. L'ajustement de la cavité a été démontré à travers la complexation de bases de Lewis bidentates de tailles variées. Lorsque l'hôte complexé est photo-actif comme c'est le cas pour les dipyridyl-porphyrines, un transfert d'énergie photo-induit a lieu au sein du complexe supramoléculaire depuis l'anthracène du récepteur vers l'hôte porphyrinique recueilli. Ceci constitue un premier pas vers l'élaboration de systèmes supramoléculaires collecteurs d'énergie photonique plus sophistiqués. Dans le but de vérifier que l'orientation parallèle des chlorophylles dans les antennes collectrices de lumière du système photosynthétique joue un rôle prépondérant dans l'efficacité de la nature à réaliser un transfert d'énergie rapide avec un minimum de perte, un pas vers l'élaboration de fils moléculaires rigides a été franchi par la synthèse d'une série de trois trimères rigides à espaceurs di-éthynyl-anthracène. In photosynthetic systems, the energy contained in a single photon is transferred in a very short time and with minimal loss from the point where it is absorbed to where it is needed. This extraordinary efficiency is ascribed to the favored spacing and orientation of the chlorophylls constituting the light harvesting pigments, which are held in an appropriate parallel conformation by short polypeptides. As part of our work on the synthesis of molecular wires bearing pendant porphyrins for the study of exciton migration and the obtaining of self-coordinated molecular systems with predictable spectral and redox characteristics, we investigated the modulation of the physico-chemical properties of cofacial bis-porphyrinic tweezers by host/guest interactions. A new extended cofacial bis-porphyrinic tweezers bearing an adjustable cavity has this been synthesized. Specifically, a tris-anthracenic spacer was chosen in order to facilitate a cofacial orientation of the chromophores while allowing a free rotation around the acetylenic axis, thus adjusting the cavity to a large variety of guests such as pyrazine, DABCO and 4,4'-bipyridine. The formation of 1:1 host/guest complexes by insertion of the Lewis base into the cavity of the dimer was demonstrated, evidencing the feasibility the recognition process via adjustment of the host's cavity to the size of the guest. This constitutes a first step toward the elaboration of more sophisticated light collecting devices. In order to check if the parallel orientation of the chlorophylls in the light harvesting antennae of the photosynthetic system plays a key role in the efficiency of the energy transfer process, we synthesized a family of three rigid tris-porphyrins bearing di-ethynyl-anthracenic spacers. These trimers, in which the porphyrins are held in a parallel conformation, constitute an approach toward the synthesis of rigid molecular wires

La thèse étudie la relation entre morphologie moléculaire et auto-organisation et part de l’hypothèse que les phénomènes d’auto-organisation trouvent une origine dans la morphologie des molécules présentes dans le milieu. Des commutateurs morphologiques métallo-contrôlés, qui sont des molécules adoptant des conformations différentes selon qu’un cation métallique est présent ou pas, ont ainsi été conçus et synthétisés. Les processus de complexation/décomplexation permettent ainsi de réaliser une commutation morphologique. La formation, à partir de ces outils, de systèmes dynamiques a permis de démontrer que la nature constitutionnelle de l’état thermodynamique généré est dépendante de la forme de ces commutateurs. Cela démontre que l’information morphologique détermine l’expression des assemblages les plus favorables. Ces processus ont permis d’opérer une commutation constitutionnelle entre polymères et macrocycles, démontrant ainsi un comportement adaptatif du système afin de répondre aux contraintes morphologiques imposées. Des systèmes fonctionnels ont été conçus et il a été démontré que l’utilisation des commutateurs morphologiques permet de contrôler la fonction exprimée par le système. Ceci souligne ainsi le potentiel de cette démarche de développement des relations constitution-fonction et démontre l’intérêt de pouvoir contrôler la constitution de systèmes dynamiques. Ce travail démontre que la morphologie moléculaire est une information utilisable qui permet de diriger l’auto-organisation de systèmes dynamiques fonctionnels. Ceci révèle ainsi un mécanisme par lequel la matière évolue et s’organise afin d’exprimer les espèces les plus adaptées aux contraintes imposées
The thesis concerns the relationship between molecular morphology and self-organization and puts the hypothesis that self-organization is determined by the morphology of the molecules from the medium. Metallo-controlled morphological switches, i. E. Molecules being able to adopt different conformations depending on whether or not a metal ion is present, were designed and synthesized. Complexation/decomplexation processes then induce a morphological switching. The formation, from these tools, of dynamic systems was used to demonstrate that the constitution of a self-assembled system at thermodynamic equilibrium depends on the morphological state of these molecules. It thus demonstrated that molecular morphology determined the assemblies expressed by the system. The use of morphological switching processes makes it possible to reversibly switch a whole system between different constitutional states, polymers and macrocycles for instance, thus demonstrating an adaptive behavior of the system which reacts to morphological constraints. Functional systems were designed and it was demonstrated that the use of morphological switches allow to control the function expressed by the system. It thus showed the tremendous potential of this methodology of developing constitution-function relationships and demonstrated the need to be able to control the constitution of dynamic systems. This work demonstrates that molecular morphology is an information which can be used to control the constitution of functional dynamic systems. This reveals a mechanism through which matter can evolve and self-organize in order to express the species which fit best with the applied constraints

Esta pesquisa buscou revalorizar a experiência de velhos e velhas internos dos hospitais Pinel e D. Pedro II na cidade de São Paulo a partir de narrativas orais dessas pessoas e levantamento de documentos escritos dos arquivos das instituições. O recuo temporal do conjunto das suas narrações permitiu traçar como recorte histórico o período que recobre os anos de 1940/2005. A recuperação de suas histórias de vida evidenciou a possibilidade de uma reflexão crítica sobre a condição social da velhice no tempo presente. A análise das práticas de construção política de sentimentos e memórias dentro desse campo de violências e arbitrariedades apontou uma cultura de resistências na busca de reversão de injunções cotidianamente impostas. A partir do que essas pessoas compreendem e observam do terreno de lutas e disputas sociais em que estão inseridas, a ideologia médica e as relações de poder são desocultadas e questionadas em alguns dos seus mecanismos burocráticos. O resgate de dimensões da prática política desses sujeitos históricos foi possível também pelas conquistas da História Oral no campo do conhecimento historiográfico.
This research has sought to revalue the experience of old people who are in the Pinel and D. Pedro II hospitals in São Paulo from their oral narratives and from information taken from written documents from the archives of these institutions. The journey back in time provided by their narratives allowed the period, covering the years 1940/2005, to be traced as a historical record. Recovering their lives\' histories provided evidence that it is possible to reflect critically on the social condition of old age in present day society. Analysis of the practices used for politically constructing feelings and memories within this field of violence and arbitrariness pointed to a culture of resistance in the search to reverse the injunctions that are daily imposed upon them. Based on what these people understand and observe of the social struggles and disputes in which they find themselves, some of the bureaucratic mechanisms of medical ideology and power relationships are unveiled and questioned. Rescuing the dimensions of the political practice of these historical individuals was also possible because of triumphs of Oral History in the field of histiographic knowledge.

Whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) is a threatened keystone species in subalpine zones of Western North America critical to watersheds and maintenance of high elevation biodiversity. Pine nuts are an important food for wildlife including grizzly bears. Whitebark pine stands have experienced losses up to 90% due to white pine blister rust, mountain pine beetles and replacement due to fire suppression. Active management strategies include letting natural fires burn or applying prescribed fires to clear understory fir, stimulate seedling regeneration and provide openings for nutcrackers to plant seeds. However, post-fire plantings of rust-resistant seedlings have low survival rates. This study evaluated the impact of fire on the mycorrhizal fungi which are obligate mutualists with whitebark pine and to address management concerns. The 2001 Fridley fire burned a portion of a mature whitebark pine forest and a year later 20,000 seedlings were planted. After four years, natural and planted seedlings, on the burn and controls in the adjacent unburned forest were well colonized by mycorrhizal fungi (>90%) although a portion may be nursery E-strain. The severe burn reduced mycorrhizal diversity 27% on natural and planted seedlings and caused a significant shift in mycorrhizal species (determined by ITS sequencing, principal component analysis and multidimensional scaling). Seedlings in the burn (natural and planted) were dominated by Pseudotomentella nigra, Wilcoxina species and Amphinema byssoides while natural seedlings in unburned forest hosted mainly Cenococcum geophilum and Piloderma byssinum. Differences were minimal between planted and natural seedlings in the burn, but roots of planted pines retained the container shape. The functional significance of a species shift to seedling survival is not yet known. Seedlings in all treatments hosted suilloid fungi (Rhizopogon, Suillus) important in pine establishment. A greenhouse bioassay of burned and unburned soils using nursery seedlings did not reflect the full diversity found in the field study, but did reveal suilloid fungi indicating that bioassays can be used as a pre-planting assessment tool for this group. Despite high mycorrhization and availability of suilloids, seedling survival was low (22-42%) suggesting the timing/type of mycorrhization and/or other biotic/abiotic factors are a concern.

En retraçant le développement des théories de la comédie dans la philosophie occidentale, cette thèse avance que des préjugés l’ont empêchée d’être reconnue comme un genre littéraire sérieux. Il est montré que la place donnée à la comédie comme genre mineur pendant plus de deux mille ans correspond à un modèle éthique qui affirme, en distinguant le réel de l'Idéal, une vision néo-platonicienne de l'existence. Partant de l’analyse d’un phénomène théâtral précis dans l’Europe de l’après-guerre et à travers de nombreux exemples choisis parmi des pièces de cinq dramaturges différents, cette thèse propose trois principaux critères de la comédie : le statut ontologique des personnages comiques, la relation paradoxale de la comédie au monde des apparences, et son aptitude à permettre l'impossible. Opérant ainsi un renversement total des systèmes de valeurs et remettant en question une vision binaire, la comédie brouille les clivages entre l’abstrait et le concret, le mécanique et l’organique, et au bout du compte entre la vie et la mort. Il est démontré comment ce renversement s’accomplit de manière linguistique, métaphorique ou encore dramaturgique. L’étude conclut que la comédie bouleverse l'ordre socio-symbolique qui repose sur la logique du possible
By tracing the development of theories of comedy within Western philosophy, this thesis claims that anti-comic prejudices prevented comedy from being recognized as a serious genre. Comedy’s inferior status for over two thousand years is shown to correspond to an ethical model that distinguishes the real from the Ideal and affirms a Neo-Platonic vision of existence. Through numerous examples taken from a particular phenomenon of post-war European theatre comprising five different playwrights, this thesis proposes three primary characteristics of comedy: the ontological instability of comic characters, comedy’s paradoxical relation to the world of appearances, and comedy’s willingness to accommodate the impossible. By throwing binaries into question and promoting a complete reversal of dominant value systems, comedy blurs the lines of distinction between the abstract and the concrete, the mechanical and the organic and, ultimately, between life and death. Demonstrating how this reversal is accomplished linguistically, metaphorically, or dramaturgically, this study concludes that comedy subverts the socio-symbolic order that relies upon the logic of possibility

The Rodeo-Chediski Wildfire the largest in Arizona's history at the time of burning damaged and disrupted ecosystems resources and functioning in a largely mosaic pattern throughout the ponderosa pine (Pinus Ponderosa) forests exposed to the burn. Impacts of this wildfire on ecosystems resources and functioning were studied from shortly after the cessation of the wildfire in late summer of 2002 through the spring of 2007 on two previously instrumented watersheds located on sandstone derived soils within the burn. One watershed was burned by a high severity (stand-replacing fire), while the other watershed burned in a low severity (stand-modifying) fire. This dissertation focuses on the effects fire severity had on watersheds resources and functioning in terms of the tree overstories, herbaceous understories, large and small mammals, avifauna, hydrologic functioning, soil water repellency, hillslope soil movement, and fuel loadings. The results of these studies indicated the cumulative impacts incurred to ecosystem resources, hydrologic functioning, and flammable fuels were much greater on the watershed exposed to the high severity (stand-replacing) fire. It is anticipated that the overall ecological and hydrologic function on the watershed burned by a high severity will not approach pre-fire conditions for many years. The watershed burned at a low severity, however, was approaching pre-fire conditions nearly five years after fire and is expected to be recovered within the next few years.

Esta Tese discute as abordagens teóricas e interpretativas de Florestan Fernandes e L. A. Costa Pinto sobre a mudança social no Brasil. Os dois sociólogos participaram ativamente do debate intelectual sobre o desenvolvimento travado nas décadas de 1950 e 1960, momento decisivo para a implantação do capitalismo no Brasil, marcado pela disputa de projetos sobre os rumos do país em meio à crescente articulação da sociedade civil. Nesse contexto, distanciando-se do nacionalismo hegemônico no debate intelectual e a partir de perspectivas distintas - próximas em alguns pontos, distantes em outros - Fernandes e Costa Pinto pensaram a particularidade da mudança social nos países subdesenvolvidos, enveredando-se no debate de questões epistemológicas sobre os procedimentos adequados para a sociologia contribuir com o processo de mudança social em curso, pois, para os dois autores, o conhecimento sociológico, além de produto, era visto também como coprodutor da história. O problema central de Fernandes era o processo e os obstáculos estruturais à constituição do padrão de civilização ocidental no Brasil - baseado na democracia, na racionalidade e no uso do conhecimento científico para o planejamento social. Para enfrentar essas questões o autor cunhou um arcabouço teórico-metodológico e conceitual a partir da síntese sociológica (no sentido mannheimiano) de elementos extraídos da tradição durkheimiana, marxista e weberiana e, também, do diálogo com a sociologia norte-americana. Por meio desse procedimento identificou a demora cultural como o principal obstáculo ao avanço da sociedade de classes no Brasil - na década de 1950. This thesis discuss theoretical and interpretative approaches of Florestan Fernandes and L. A. Costa Pinto about social change in Brazil. These two sociologists actively participated in the intellectual debate about the development that happened in the 1950's and 1960's, decisive moment for the implantation of Brazil's capitalism, marked by project contests about the country's routes amid the rising linkage of civil society. In that context, distancing from the hegemonic nationalism in intellectual debate e from separate perspectives - close at a certain point, distant at others - Fernandes and Costa Pinto thought about the singularities of social change in underdeveloped countries, joining the debate of epistemological questions about the apropriate procedures that would allow sociology to contribute with the social change process on course, because these two authors understand the sociological knowledge simultaneously as History products and History producers. Fernandes' main problem was the process and the structural hurdles for the constitution of Brazil's civilization standard - based on democracy, on rationality and on the use of scientific knowledge for social planning. To face these questions, the author distilled a theoretical methodological and conceptual understructure from the sociological synthesis (in Mannheim's sense) of elements extracted from Durkheim,Marx and Weber tradition and, also, from the dialogue with North American sociology. By means of this procedure he identified the cultural delay as the main obstacle for the progress of class society in Brazil - in the 1950's. Amid Brazilian society's radicalisation in the early 1960's, the deepening of intellectual process about development, Fernandes was able to understand Brazil's social change standard as exclusivist, unilateral, formalist, irrational and antidemocratic because it is conducted by elites with limited mental horizons. Bien que fort différents, les romans des années 1950 d’Alain Robbe-Grillet et les romans des années 1960 de Robert Pinget ont prétendu contester les formes littéraires que le XXe siècle a héritées du siècle précédent, et notamment la description dite « balzacienne ». Nous interrogeons ici les modalités linguistiques de cette contestation et l’ambiguïté littéraire de ce déni d’héritage. La relation entre la description telle que l’ont pratiquée d’une part ces deux « Nouveaux Romanciers » et d’autre part les grands auteurs réalistes du XIXe siècle est ici envisagée selon une triple perspective : le maintien ou non d’une textualité prototypiquement méronymique ; la construction langagière d’une réalité dont l’existence est soudain moins sûre ; l’effacement énonciatif et ses conséquences esthétiques. Selon une approche résolument technique, les descriptions romanesques de Pinget et de Robbe-Grillet sont donc ici systématiquement mises en regard de descriptions canoniques de Balzac, mais aussi de Flaubert et de Zola. La contestation du protocole réaliste repose en effet sur une reprise et un refus : la complexité textuelle, la confusion dénotative et reférentielle, l’instabilité énonciative permettent aux deux romanciers de procurer des descriptions à la fois hyperréalistes et antiréalistes. Tout en prenant acte de la différence radicale des deux auteurs, il s’agit finalement de montrer comment l’un et l’autre sont parvenus à mettre au point un protocole descriptif résolument nouveau, qui rende compte du monde en tant qu’il est et en tant qu’il échappe
Although very different, the novels of the 1950s by Alain Robbe-Grillet and of the 1960s by Robert Pinget claimed to challenge the literary forms that the twentieth century has inherited from the previous century, including the description of Honoré de Balzac. We question here the linguistic modalities of this confrontation, as well as the literary ambiguity of this denial of inheritance.The relationship between the description as have practiced these two "New Novelists" and on the other hand the great realistic writers of the nineteenth century is considered here in a triple perspective: maintenance / defence - or not – of a textuality, which is prototypically based on meronymy ; the linguistic construction of a reality whose existence is suddenly uncertain ; the enunciative erasure and its aesthetic consequences. In a decidedly technical approach, the descriptions of the novels of and Robbe-Grillet and Pinget are systematically opposed to the canonical descriptions of Balzac, but also to some extent to Flaubert and Zola. Challenging the realistic protocol is indeed based both on a recovery and a refusal: the textual complexity, the denotative and referential confusion and the enunciative instability allow these two novelists to provide descriptions which can be considered hyperrealistic as well as antirealistic. Eventually, while acknowledging the radical difference between the two authors, the aim is to show how both writers have managed to develop a considerably new descriptive protocol that reflects the world as it is and as it escapes

Esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de investigar a presença negra na pintura de artistas locais na primeira metade do século XX. Parte do pressuposto de que para compreender a presença do segmento afrodescendente na sociedade local é imprescindível buscar indicativos das representações sobre esse segmento e de que maneira tais representações são apropriadas para estabelecer visibilidade à identidade afrodescendente. A metodologia adotada neste estudo envolveu pesquisa em acervos de instituições museológicas de Belém, sobre a ocorrência de pinturas de artistas paraenses com produção voltada à representação negra, com destaque aos artistas plásticos Antonieta Santos Feio, Waldemar da Costa e Dahlia Déa. Este trabalho em campo foi fundamental para estabelecer a seleção de quais quadros e autores subsidiam adentrar na temática da representação afrobrasileira na pintura local. A relevância desta pesquisa para a área de Arte/Cultura Afrobrasileira e para as disposições da Lei 10.639/2003 é a possibilidade de refletir acerca da presença do negro na sociedade local, uma vez que considera a dimensão da diversidade cultural como fenômeno histórico-social capaz de desarticular concepções eurocêntricas de referenciais epistemológicos e de representação visual. Nesta perspectiva, a participação negra e sua devida contextualização permitirão construir novos discursos sobre a visibilidade afrodescendente na História da Arte e Cultura Paraense.
This research aims to investigate the black presence in the painting by local artists in the first half of the twentieth century. Assumes that to understand the presence of African descent in the local segment is essential to seek indicative of representations of this segment and how such representations are appropriate visibility to establish the identity of African descent. The methodology adopted in this study involved research collections of museum institutions of Belém, on the occurrence of paintings of artists of the Pará with production aimed at black representation, especially the artists Antoinette Feio, Waldemar da Costa and Dahlia Dea. This fieldwork was essential to establish the selection of which tables and authors subsidize enter the theme of Afro-Brazilian representation in painting site. The relevance of this research to the field of Art / Afro-Brazilian Culture and the provisions of law 10.639/2003 is the ability to reflect on the presence of blacks in the local society, as it considers the extent of cultural and socio-historical phenomenon can to dismantle eurocentric conceptions of epistemological frameworks and visual representation. In this perspective, black participation and their proper contextualization will build new discourses about the visibility of African descent in the History of Art and Culture Pará.

There is research of regularity of free tree mortality in various age pine stands, growing in Nbl places in master work. Presented this process’s characteristics- amounts of mortality by the number and volume of the tree. We used absolute and relational parameters of free tree mortality. An object of work- 20-140 years old pine stands, which is pure, conditionally average growing in Nbl places. Long-time investigation involved pine of the Jonava district and Berezina reserve (Belarus). Information involved free mortality from various literary sources. Aim- fined a regularity of free tree mortality. A method of work- Barrel method of forestry research was used in outdoor work’s. Inventory of barrel research was repeated 2-3 times in 4-7 years. Without our got information analyze from barrel research we used a method of met analyze, when various authors information of free tree mortality is united in one based object by the source of literature. Results of work- Tree mortality research involved 20-140 years old pine, growing in Nbl places. Our investigation and results analysis shows 2-5% trees mortality (per year) registered in pine samplings; 0,3-6% - in mide-aged pine stands; 1-5% - in premature stands; 5-6% trees mortality in mature stands. Average of size of trees mortality equal: in pine samplings- 4,2 m3/ha per year, in mide-aged stands - 2,7 m3/ha per year, in premature forests - 2,6 m3/ha per year, in mature stands - 2,7 m3/ha per year. Darbo tikslas – nustatyti briedžių gausą ir jų žiemos ganyklų būklę Labanoro regioniniame parke. Darbo metodai – R. McCain metodas, statistinė analizė. Darbo rezultatai. Šio darbo tikslas – nustatyti briedžių gausą ir jų žiemos ganyklų būklę Labanoro regioniniame parke. . Tyrimas pasirinktuose bareliuose buvo atliktas R. McCaino metodu, tiriant briedžių ganyklų būklę nevegetaciniu laikotarpiu. Tyrimo juostos ilgis - 14,1 km Briedžių žiemos ganyklų įvertinimas parodė, kad žvėrių poveikis ganykloms priklauso nuo medelių ir ūglių apsaugojimo repelentais. Pažeidimų lygis ganyklose priklausė ir nuo repelentų kokybės, ir nuo augalų apdorojimo repelentais tvarkingumo. Buvo patvirtinta darbo hipotezė, kad nuo repelentų kokybės ir augalų apdorojimo kokybės priklausė kokius augalus briedžiai dažniau rinkosi. Pušies želdiniai buvo žalojami mažiau nei vidutiniškai.
Master‘s Research was based on the assessment of the moose influence in the winter habitats of the Labanoras Regional Park. The object – Labanoras Regional Park. The goal – assessment of the state of winter habitats of moose in Labanoras Regional Park. The research method – R. McCain method and statistics analysis. The goal of this work was to assess of the state of winter habitats of moose in Labanoras Regional Park. I have used R. McCain method assessing the number of moose local population. The method of sample plots was used to assess the state of the wither habitats of moose. The total length of transect is 14,1 km. Research of the state of winter habitats has shown that the moose influence depends on repellent use. The main reason of the strong influence on pine depends not only on repellents use but also on repellent quality. Moose prefer different species of trees including pine. Research has approved this hypothesis. The pine was consumed averagely.

Nos anos 1960 a 1980, alguns artistas seguiram na contramão da chamada arte de vanguarda ou da arte dos ismos, pintando principalmente casarios - seqüências de casas geminadas, freqüente no estilo arquitetônico colonial brasileiro - um assunto empregado em determinadas pinturas de paisagens urbanas. O tema foi amplamente consumido, ainda que possa ter sido considerado ultrapassado no período. Os artistas viveram de sua arte e participavam ativamente das exposições promovidas pelas principais galerias e mostras oficiais, assim como dos leilões de arte fomentados pelos mais importantes leiloeiros. Até o pesente, a pintura referente à atmosfera colonial é mencionada nos cursos de arte, prossegue comercialmente viável e é explorada nas grandes mostras. A nossa investigação partiu da proposta de valorização e do resgate do tema, observando a produção de alguns artistas paulistas, os quais constituíram o 'Grupo Tapir'. Através do cenário artístico paulista, inserimos os nomes dos mestres responsáveis pela formação do grupo. Esboçamos uma biografia dos cinco integrantes do 'Grupo Tapir' e a respectiva análise de suas obras a partir dos preceitos de iconografia de Erwin Panofsky (1892-1968), em Significado das Artes Visuais. Buscamos assim definir os valores perceptivos simbólicos, expressivos e emocionais dos casarios, como obra de arte no contexto da pintura de paisagens, relecionando os devaneios e sonhos relativos aos significado das casas, segundo as obras filosóficas de Gaston Bachelard (1884-1962).
From 1960 to 1980 some artists followed the wrong way in the called vanguard art or the art of the 'ismos', painting mainly casarios - sequence of houses, constantly old a topic used in cetain urban landscape's paintings. The theme was throughly consumed, however it can be considered outdated in the period. The artists lived their art and participated actively of the exhibitions promoted by the main galleries and official shows, as well as the auctions fomented by the most important auctioneers. Until now, the painting regarding the colonial atmosphere is reference in the art courses, it continues commercially viable and it is explored in the great displays. Our investigation began with the proposal of valorization and rescue of the theme, observing some artist's production fom São Paulo production, who constitued the Group Tapir. Through the paulista artists scenery we insert the responsible masters name for the formation of gourp.Sketched a biography about the five members of Group Tapir and athe respective analysis of their works starting from the iconography deductions of Erwin Panofsky(1892-1968), in Meaning in the Visual Arts. With this, we intend to define the perceptive, symbolic, expressive and emotional values of the casarios, as work of art in the context of the landscape's painting relating the dream and the relative dreams to the meaning of the houses, according to the philosophical works of Gaston Bachelard (1884-1962).
