Il Beach Drainage System (BDS) è un metodo per la protezione delle coste a basso impatto ambientale basato sul drenaggio della “water table” in corrispondenza della spiaggia emersa subito a monte della linea di riva. L’effetto drenante tende a incrementare il processo di deposito del materiale trasportato dal moto ondoso di run-up e, quindi, a favorire il ripascimento della spaigia, ovvero a contrastarne l’erosione.
