Resumen
Patients who experience gastrointestinal bleeding after myocardial infarction (MI) often have comorbidities that could place them at increased risk of complications if evaluative endoscopy were to be performed. Although esophagogastroduodenoscopy is considered to be generally safe in high-risk individuals, some post-MI patients may be more susceptible to a variety of cardiopulmonary complications. This cohort study examined cardiopulmonary safety in post-MI patients and evaluated specific predictors of complications of post-MI endoscopy.BACKGROUND: Patients who experience myocardial infarction

ABSTRACT   An ischemic ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a lethal complication of myocardial infarction (MI), commonly from 24 hours to up to 5 days of presentation with AMI. Despite the improvement of surgical techniques, the mortality is still very high with poor prognosis. Left ventricular aneurysm (LVA) may also be a fatal mechanical complication of MI but rarely occurs in the posterior or inferior portion of the interventricular septum. Concomitant AMI mechanical complications in the same patient are less than infrequent with poor prognosis, particularly with late hospital arrival.

Recent meta-analytic findings have revealed that the addition of motivational interviewing (MI) to cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders improves treatment outcome. However, for the most part, previous research has limited MI as a prelude to CBT. This article explored the benefits and complications of a more integrated approach by adapting and examining an already established transdiagnostic CBT protocol to include intermittent MI strategies. The presented protocol is described and illustrated using a case study of a woman meeting criteria for four anxiety disorder diagnoses.

Atherosclerosis, the clinically manifested form of cardiovascular disease (CVD), mainly accounts for most deaths worldwide. Inflammatory disorders that elevate CVD risk have been associated with circulating inflammatory markers that encompass neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), which could be employed as an economical prognostic tool for the diagnosis of the same. Hence, this study focused on assessing the extrapolative implication of NLR among ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) patients. Abstract A substantial number of chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) experience periprocedural myocardial injury or infarction. Accurate diagnosis of these PCI-related complications is required to guide further management given that their occurrence may be associated with increased risk of major adverse cardiac events (MACE). Due to lack of scientific data, the cut-off thresholds of post-PCI cardiac troponin (cTn) elevation used for defining periprocedural myocardial injury and infarction, have been selected based on expert consensus opi

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a leading cause of morbidity worldwide, resulting from ischemic damage and necrosis to cardiomyocytes. While the standard treatment regimen for MI can be successful in restoring coronary perfusion, it typically does not resolve myocardial damage, which can leave patients particularly vulnerable to complications such as heart failure or electrical conduction abnormalities. Stem cell therapies offer a promising novel approach aimed at restoring cardiac function and decreasing the incidence of functional complications after an MI. This review used a literature search

In our case, post-MI left ventricle pseudoaneurysm complicated by hemopericardium was diagnosed using cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA).
