Quality of surface finishes for beech stairs. The article deals with quality of oil varnish surface finish when compared with a standard polyurethane finish. The electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a process widely used in machining of complex geometries and hardened materials, conditions that often are not met by conventional machining processes. In EDM the electrode reproduces its image or geometry on the part and this image is obtained by chip removing process, which is given by high frequency electrical discharges, causing the melting and vaporization of electrically conductive materials. The aims of this study were to evaluate the microbiological quality of fresh-squeezed orange juice and to reduce the microbial population by using various chemical and physical fruit surface decontamination methods. In the first step of the study, polyethylene-bottled fresh-squeezed orange juice samples purchased in Ankara, Turkey, were examined. The average aerobic plate count (APC) and coliform count (CC) varied within the ranges of 3 to 5 log CFU/ml and 1 to 4 log MPN/ml, respectively. The need for deinking mills to reduce their fresh water consumption has resulted in higher loads of various contaminants in the process water.
