Abstract In order to achieve the governance of urban water environment systems and ensure the normal operation of urban drainage systems, it is necessary to regularly inspect the drainage pipe network to detect and identify defects. Traditional methods of manually identifying defects in Close Circuit Television (CCTV) data and annotating them are labor-intensive and inefficient. To address this issue, a method for automatic identification of pipe network defects based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and transformer is proposed. The model is named RFCBAM-CGA-RTDETR and has been applied to

In a content analysis of 30 news stories from each network, we compared the framing of the crisis, examining language, sources, and visual elements. CNN predominantly emphasized government statements, diplomatic actions, and the international response, often maintaining a neutral tone that aligned with Western perspectives. In contrast, Al Jazeera prioritized first-hand accounts from Gaza, highlighting the suffering of civilians particularly women and children th

Recently, social media platforms have introduced several measures to counter misleading information. Among these measures are “state-media labels” which help users identify and evaluate the credibility of state-backed news. YouTube was the first platform to introduce labels that provide information about state-backed news channels. While previous work has examined the efficiency of information labels in controlled lab settings, few studies have examined how state-media labels affect users’ perceptions of content from state-backed outlets. While far from being the first such mechanism, blogrolls offered an opportunity for bloggers to provide a list of their peers; the present generation of social media environments similarly provide lists of friends and followers. Where blogrolls and other earlier lists may have been user-generated, the social media lists of today are more likely to have been produced by the platforms themselves, and are of intrinsic value to the platform providers at least as much as to the users themselve

These communities appear to offer opportunities for participants to exert more positive influence over the types of interactions they engage in with colleagues, in many cases being valued as more altruistic, transformational, or supportive than established academic structures (Gibson, and Gibbs; Mewburn, and Thomson; Maitzen).
