An experiment was carried out to evaluate the semen quality of rabbits administered varied levels of exogenous L-Selenomethionine (L-SeMet). Twenty four male rabbits (10 months old) were randomly allotted to four treatments in a completely randomised design. Treatment 1 (control) was without exogenous L-SeMet, while treatments 2, 3 and 4 were administered 0.2 mgkg<sup>-1</sup>, 0.3 mgkg<sup>-1</sup> and 0.4 mgkg<sup>-1</sup> oral supplementation of L-SeMet, respectively at 48hours interval for 6 weeks. Semen samples were collected at day 21 and day 42 using artificial vagina from the bucks and assessed for volume, mass activity, progressive motility, percentage dead and live sperm cells and sperm concentration. Sperm progressive motility and sperm concentration increased significantly (P&lt;0.05) as the concentration of L-SeMet increases at day 21. However, percentage dead sperm cells significantly (P&lt;0.05) reduced with increase in the level of L-SeMet supplementation. At day 42, it was also observed that mass activity, sperm progressive motility and sperm concentration were significantly (P&lt;0.05) highest in rabbits administered 0.4 mgkg<sup>-1</sup> L-SeMet. However, semen volume was not significantly different among the treatments on both days of assessment. This suggested that exogenous supplementation of L-SeMet up to 0.4 mgkg<sup>-1</sup> improved semen attributes and sperm cells formation of the rabbit bucks.

Industri di Indonesia terus berkembang dan semakin berkreasi, tidak terkecuali pada industri persemenan. Jika dibandingkan tahun 2009, jumlah produsen semen saat ini bertambah menjadi dua kali lipat. Kenaikan kapasitas terpasang dan bertambahnya produsen semen tidak diimbangi oleh pertumbuhan permintaan semen yang mengakibatkan pada menurunnya utilitas pabrik-pabrik produsen. Kondisi di tahun 2024 merupakan kondisi oversupply dimana terdapat 18 produsen semen dengan kapasitas terpasang pabrik sebesar 122 juta ton/tahun sedangkan permintaan semen sebesar 65 juta ton menyebabkan utilitas pabrik produsen semen menjadi 53,1% yang tergolong rendah. Tren penurunan utilitas ini merupakan efek lanjutan akibat banyaknya produsen semen baru yang terdaftar sejak tahun 2015. Persaingan yang ketat di industri semen membuat produsen semen diharuskan menjaga kualitas dan performa di segmen marketing. Salah satu konsep marketing yang diterapkan di industri semen adalah marketing mix 7P yaitu strategi pemasaran dari segi product, price, promotion, place, people, process, dan physical evidence. Ketujuh elemen tersebut membuat konsep marketing menjadi lebih kompleks karena juga melibatkan aspek di luar produk yang dipasarkan. Penelitian ini akan melakukan analisa dan pengendalian marketing mix 7P terhadap kepuasan konsumen. Identifikasi dan penerapan marketing mix 7P menggunakan diagram pengendali T2 Hotelling dan Generalized Varians. Berdasarkan diagram pengendali Generalized Varians, kepuasan pelanggan tidak terkendali terhadap varians di tahun 2020. Faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya keadaan yang luar biasa adalah place dan process. Berdasarkan evaluasi dan monitoring diagram pengendali, diketahui bahwa masalah utama pada kategori place adalah semen sulit ditemukan atau stok semen terbatas sedangkan masalah utama pada kategori process adalah waktu pengiriman sering terlambat. Pada Diagram Ishikawa dijelaskan bahwa penyebab tersebut mayoritas terjadi karena adanya pandemi COVID-19 mengakibatkan Kunjungan tenaga penjualan ke toko berkurang dan semakin jarang yang diakibatkan tenaga penjualan belum berpengalaman menghadapi situasi khusus dan sedikitnya toko bangunan yang masih buka.

The aim of our study was to examine how different gelatin concentrations affect ram semens viability in liquid storage at 5 oC for five days. Our hypothesis was if we add gelatin to the semen extender, than the viability of ram semen will be better in the extenders containing gelatin, than the control. We used two different semen extenders:1.5% UHT milk and 1.5% UHT milk + 5% egg yolk. We added 0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0% Dr. Oetker gelatin to the semen extenders. We stored the semen for five days at 5 oC and in every 24 hour we made sampling.We stained the smears with Kovács-Foote staining and evaluated them with light-microscope. We categorized the cells in five groups like: live and intact cells, live cells with injured acrosome, dead cells, live head with dead tail and live tail with dead head. We used one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to assign how gelatin concentration affects the number of the categorized cells. On the fifth day, the viability was the best in the following semen extenders: 1.5% fat UHT milk + 1.0% gelatin and 1.5% fat UHT milk + 1.5% gelatin, but it was not significant (p&gt;0.05).

&lt;p&gt;Limbah &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; terus meningkat sebanding dengan meningkatnya produksi semen dan kebutuhan manusia dalam penggunaan listrik. &lt;em&gt;Fly ash &lt;/em&gt;tergolong dalam limbah B3 berdampak negatif bagi kesehatan dan lingkungan. Penggunaan limbah &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; pada beton dapat meningkatkan kuat tekan beton, sehingga menjadi salah satu solusi mengurangi dampak negatif limbah &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt;. &lt;em&gt;Fly ash &lt;/em&gt;akan digunakan sebagai pengganti sebagian semen dengan 4 variasi sempel segmen kolom praktis (SKPM) berukuran 150 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm dengan lubang tengah berukuran 80 mm x 80 mm x 150 mm sebanyak 32 buah untuk pengujian berat isi dan kuat tekan SKPM. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji: (1) Pengaruh &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; sebagai pengganti sebagian semen terhadap berat isi Segmen Kolom Praktis Modular (SKPM). (2) Pengaruh &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; sebagai pengganti sebagian semen terhadap semen kuat tekan SKPM. (3) Hubungan berat isi dan kuat tekan SKPM. (4) Pengaruh &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; sebagai pengganti sebagian semen terhadap kriteria beton ramah lingkungan. Penelitian metode kuantitatif eksperimental dilakukan di laboratorium. SKPM menggunakan perbandingan semen dan pasir sebesar 1:7 dengan nilai faktor air binder (fab) 0,48. Pengujian berat isi mengacu SNI 1973:2008 dan pengujian kuat tekan mengacu pada SNI 03-0349-1989. Perawatan beton dilakukan selama 28 hari dari waktu pembuatan sampai waktu pengujian. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Adanya pengaruh &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; sebagai pengganti sebagian semen terhadap semen mengakibatkan kenaikan berat isi SKPM dengan nilai maksimal sebesar 2013,261 kg/m³ pada variasi &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; 30%. (2) Adanya pengaruh &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; sebagai pengganti sebagian semen mengakibatkan terjadi kenaikan kuat tekan SKPM dengan nilai maksimal sebesar 73,561 kgf/cm² pada variasi &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; 20%. (3) Berat isi SKPM memenuhi standar SNI 1973:2008 dan kuat tekan SKPM memenuhi standar 03-0349-1989 mutu I dengan nilai maksimal variasi 20% &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt;. (4) Adanya pengaruh &lt;em&gt;fly ash&lt;/em&gt; sebagai pengganti sebagian semen memiliki ciri-ciri kriteria beton ramah lingkungan sesuai dengan kategori penilaian Material &lt;em&gt;Resource and Cycle&lt;/em&gt; pada perangkat penilaian &lt;em&gt;Greenship Rating Tools&lt;/em&gt; versi 1.0 dengan &lt;em&gt;recycle&lt;/em&gt; limbah dan membuat material SKPM prapabrikasi.&lt;/p&gt;

Penelitian penggunaan slag semen pada campuran beton sebagai cementious telah dimulai sejak tahun 1774. Saat ini di negara-negara maju slag semen telah dimanfaatkan pada setiap campuran beton, bahkan persentasenya mencapai 30% dari cementious, hal ini dapat dilihat dari produksi slag semen yang terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Pembuatan beton dengan menggunakan slag sement sebagai campuran agregat halus untuk subtitusi terhadap semen yang selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian terhadap benda uji beton untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruhnya terhadap nilai kuat tekan pada beton, serta bertujuan juga untuk mendapatkan campuran bahan beton dengan biaya yang lebih efisien dibandingkan beton non-slag. Kuat tekan Beton akan mengidentifikasi mutu dari sebuah konstruksi, semakin tinggi kekuatan struktur yang direncanakan , maka semakin tinggi pula mutu beton yang harus di hasilkan. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi kuat tekan beton, yaitu faktor air semen (w/c), jumlah air, jumlah dan kualitas semen, kualitas agregat, umur beton, serta perawatan beton. Apabila w/c tidak sesuai dengan beton yang direncanakan maka beton akan mengalami perubahan kekuatan. Hubungan antara kuat tekan beton dengan nilai w/c berbanding terbalik, kuat tekan akan menjadi tinggi apabila angka w/c kecil dan sebaliknya kuat tekan akan rendah apabila w/c makin besar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perbandingan komposisi untuk memperoleh mutu yang sama didapatkan hasil pada beton slag ada penambahan air 7 liter/m³ terhadap non-slag, dan mengurangi sementious sebesar 2 kg/m³, serta slag semen memberikan kontribusi terhadap kuat tekan lebih besar dari pada beton non-slag sebesar 4,3%, akan tetapi dalam mencapai hal itu, slag semen membutuhkan air yang lebih banyak, sedangkan dari segi biaya, dibandingkan beton non-slag, slag semen dapat menekan biaya sebesar Rp 15.354,00/m3.

This study was conducted to examine testosterone concentrations its relationship with the scrotal circumference and physical characteristics of semen in aceh bulls. Semen samples were collected weekly from jugular vein of three aceh bulls aged 4-5 years old for 10 weeks. Testosterone concentration was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Semens were collected by using artificial vagina and evaluated for physical characteristics namely ejaculatory volume, pH, and sperm motility, concentration, and abnormalities. Data were analyzed using correlation-regresion test. Testosterone concentrations showed a positive correlation with scrotal circumference (r = 0.799), number of sperm (r = 0.703), sperm motility (r = 0.857) and sperm abnormalities (r = -0,877). No correlation, however, was found between testosterone concentrations with semen volume (r = 0.038) and pH (r = 0.418). It can be concluded that testosterone concentrations correlated positively with scrotal circumference, numbers of sperm, sperm of motility and sperm of abnormality.

Proses pembuatan semen yang dilakukan pada PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk ini menggunakan proses kering (Dry process). Proses produksi ini dimulai dari penyediaan bahan mentah, penggilingan bahan mentah, pembakaran, pendinginan klinker, penggilingan klinker, dan pengantongan semen.pada pt semen baturaja terdapat tambang batu kapur ( lime stone) dan tanah liat (clay). Kemudian penggilingan batu kapur dengan menggunakan dobble hammer, dan untuk tanah liat menggunakan dobble roller hamer. Yang terjadi pada alat raw mill yaitu pencampuran bahan, penghancuran, pengayakan, dan pemanasan. pada proses kiln membentuk klinker yaitu salah satu bahan pembuat semen.hasil dari proses klinkerinasisi itu sendiri tidak hanya di salurkan langsung pada poroses cemen mill, tetapi klinker juga di salurkan ke baprik pt semen batubara di unit cemen mill yg ada di palembang. Jadi proses kilinkerinasi sendiri hanya di lakukan di pt semen baturaja yang berad di batu raja. proses produksi ini menggunakan bahan baku utama yaitu batu kapur (lime stone) dan juga tananah liat (clay). Pada produksi ini juga menggunakan bahan tambahan yaitu pasir besi dan pasir silika. pada cemen mill menggunakan pozolan, klinker, dan gypsum. PT semen baturaja memproduksi 2 tipe semen yaitu semen OPC dan juga semen PCC, yang dibedakan oleh komposisi klinker yg ada pada semen sesuai dengan kebutuhan semen itu sendiri.PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk mulai beroperasi secara komersil mulai pada tanggal 1 Juni 1981 dengan kapasitas produksi 450.000 ton klinker per tahun dan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan semen maka dilaksanakan optimalisasi produksi klinker secara berkala mulai dari optimalisasi proyek terak-I sampai optimalisasi proyek terak –II (OPT-I sampai OPT-II).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas semen berbagai strain ayam lokal unggul di Kota Kendari. Materi utama yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah semen ayam yang diperoleh dari ayam Kampung, ayam Bangkok, ayam KUB, ayam Elba, ayam Arab, ayam ULU, dan ayam Sensi yang berumur 1,0-1,5 tahun sebanyak 21 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 7 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan (ulangan adalah penampungan semen). Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah semen yang diperoleh dari berbagai strain ayam yaitu (P1) semen ayam Kampung, (P2) semen ayam Bangkok, (P3) semen ayam KUB, (P4) semen ayam Elba, (P5) semen ayam Arab, (P6) semen ayam ULU, (P7) semen ayam Sensi. Variabel penelitian evaluasi makroskopis semen meliputi volume semen, warna semen, bau semen, konsistensi semen dan derajat keasaman (pH) semen sedangkan evaluasi mikroskopis spermatozoa yaitu abnormalitas spermatozoa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strain ayam ULU mempunyai volume semen yang nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strain ayam Bangkok, ayam Kampung, ayam KUB, ayam Elba, ayam Arab dan ayam Sensi. Sedangkan pada parameter warna, bau, konsistensi, derajat keasaman (pH) semen dan abnormalitas spermatozoa, semua jenis ayam menunjukkan kualitas yang cenderung sama.

Bata ringan dalam pelaksanaannya dilakukan pemasangan dengan menggunakan perekat bata ringan, namun di berbagai tempat khususnya di kabupaten Sumenep pemasangan bata ringan menggunakan semen biasa atau yang banyak beredar dipasaran seperti semen PPC. Berdasarkan perbedaan tersebut penelitian ini akan membandingkan syarat mutu fisika antara semen PPC dengan semen mortar (lem bata ringan) yang ada di kabupaten Sumenep. Tujuan penelitian membandingkan syarat mutu fisika semen PPC dengan semen mortar (lem bata ringan) yaitu untuk mengetahui waktu pengikatan, penurunan atau pengerasan dan kuat tekan antara semen PPC dan semen mortar (lem bata ringan). &#x0D; Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Benda uji untuk waktu pengikatan dan pengerasan semen baik semen PPC dan semen mortar (lem bata ringan) dengan membuat bola pasta, sedangkan benda uji untuk kuat tekan dengan membuat benda uji berbentuk kubus 5 x 5 x 5 cm.&#x0D; Semen PPC menunjukkan terjadi penurunan pada menit 105 sebesar 4.1 mm dan waktu pengikatan awal terjadi pada menit 139 dengan penetrasi 25 mm. Semen PPC memenuhi syarat fisika SNI. Semen mortar (lem bata ringan) selama 150 menit tidak terjadi penurunan dan pengerasan sama sekali, sehingga waktu pengikatan awal semen mortar (lem bata ringan) memenuhi syarat SNI. Kuat tekan semen PPC mempunyai kuat tekan rata – rata sebesar 26.33 MPa, sedangkan semen mortar (lem bata ringan) sebesar 4 MPa. Kuat tekan semen PPC memenuhi syarat SNI, sedangkan semen mortar (lem bata ringan) tidak memenuhi syarat SNI. Semen mortar (lem bata ringan) lebih tepat digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pemasangan bata ringan dan semen PPC lebih kuat jika dibandingkan dengan semen mortar (lem bata ringan).

Artificial insemination with liquid semen in East Nusa Tenggara is still very rare, the Artificial insemination program is carried out using fresh semen. Liquid semen is generally stored at a temperature of 16-18 °C and lasts only a few days depending on the diluent used, for longer storage it requires the addition of antioxidants that can suppress the dangers of ROS. Therefore, this study was conducted to test the filtrate of red dragon (Hylocereus polyrhizus) in life semen diluent, which is expected to maintain the quality of spermatozoa in fresh semen. Semen was collected from 5 boars using the Glove Hand Method with Dummy Sow. Fresh semen that meets the SNI is diluted with the conditions of spermatozoa motility &gt;70%, spermatozoa concentration &gt;200,106 cells/ml and &lt; abnormalities of 20%. The research was carried out in several stages: 1) examination of fresh semen 2) preparation of diluent 3) preparation of red dragon filtrate (Hylocereus polyrhizus) 4) manufacture of liquid semen. The data were analyzed descriptively and in a Complete Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. If there is a real difference, it can be continued with the Duncan test. Consecutive treatments: KO (fresh semen control); K1( Fresh semen control + semen life® ); P1 (fresh semen + semen life® + red dragon filtrate (Hylocereus polyhizu) 100μL); P2 (fresh semen + semen life® + red dragon filtrate (Hylocereus polyhizu) 200μL); P3 (fresh semen + semen life® + red dragon filtrate (Hylocereus polyhizu) 300μL); P4 (fresh semen + semen life® + red dragon filtrate (Hylocereus polyhizu) 400μL); P5 (fresh semen + semen life® + red dragon filtrate (Hylocereus polyhizu) 500μL). The results of the study can be concluded that the addition of red dragon phytrate (Hylocereus polyrhizus) 300μL in semen life® diluent has good effectiveness in maintaining the quality of liquid semen in storage at a temperature of 18-20 °C.

Sperm cryopreservation is the best technology for long-term storage of the semen. However, the damage of boar spermatozoa by cryopreservation is more severe than in other animal species and a standardized freezing protocol for efficient cryopreservation has not been established yet. Semen quality and freezability vary greatly between breeds as well as between individual boars and even the season. Boar spermatozoa are sensitive to low temperatures; they sustain damage and a high rate of mortality and freezing/thawing the boar semen may strongly impair the sperm function and decrease the semen quality. The freezability of boar semen can be influenced by a cryopreservation procedure, and also by using various additives to freezing and thawing extenders such as antioxidants. In order to obtain acceptable results after thawing the boar semen, it is necessary to combine an optimal amount of additives (glycerol, egg yolk, sugars, antioxidants), cooling and warming velocities.

Semen quality traits such as semen volume, sperm motility, sperm concentration, pH, and color are very important, since they can determine the fertility potential of the semen. The objective of this study was to compare the semen quality traits of Thai Native chickens (Pradu Hang Dam and Chee) producing high and low semen volume. Semen was collected from 24 roosters (12 reps) and divided into two groups of roosters producing high semen volume (&gt;0.3 mL) and those producing a low amount of semen (&lt;0.3 mL). Fresh semen quality parameters (semen volume, sperm motility, viability, concentration, and pH) were measured and compared between groups. It was found that semen volume showed a positive correlation with sperm concentration, mass movement, motility, viability, and pH of fresh semen. There was no significant difference in fresh semen parameters between Pradu Hang Dam and Chee roosters with either high or low ejaculate semen, except for sperm concentration. Sperm concentration was significantly higher in Chee compared with Pradu Hang Dam in both high and low ejaculate semen. The semen quality parameters between groups of chickens producing high and low ejaculate semen were significantly different except for sperm viability. In conclusion, it was found that chickens producing high volumes of semen have better sperm quality than those producing a low semen volume. Therefore, these results provide a possible consideration that the amount of semen production among chickens can be used as a tool in selecting Thai native roosters for breeding.

<strong>Background:</strong>&nbsp;The importance of male factor contribution to infertility is well recognised. Semen analysis is an indispensable diagnostic tool in the evaluation of the male partners of infertile couples. Aim and objective of the study was conducted to determine the abnormalities in semen among male partners in infertile couples.&nbsp;<strong>Methods:</strong>&nbsp;Detailed history, examination and semen analysis was done. Semen samples were analysed for volume, viscosity, sperm concentration, motility, and morphology, according to WHO guidelines.&nbsp;<strong>Results:</strong>&nbsp;This study, done at Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of JLNMCH, Bhagalpur, Bihar has demonstrated that abnormal semen quality is a major factor contributing to infertility in couples. Total number of participants was 94. Most of the male partners i.e. 65.96%, who came for infertility evaluation, were between 30-39 years of age with 56.38% participants having abnormal semen parameters. The most common abnormality found was asthenozoospermia seen in 35.11% of cases followed by oligozoospermia seen in 25.53% of cases. Teratozoospermia and azoospermia were seen in 7.45% and 4.26% of cases respectively.&nbsp;<strong>Conclusion:</strong>&nbsp;Males contribute towards infertility in couples significantly. Abnormal semen pattern is a common cause. More research is needed to render more valuable and significant results regarding male infertility. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Semen organik merupakan semen alternatif terbaru selain semen portland, dibuat dari mendaur ulang sampah organik, limbah batu bara berupa fly ash dan bottom ash serta mensubtitusi tanah mediteran dan tanah liat. Penelitian ini sebagai langkah kebijakan dalam penyelamatan lingkungan. Pengujian kuat tekan dan kuat tarik belah beton silinder menggunakan semen organik dan sebagai pembandingnya menggunakan semen portland melalui metode water curing dan dry curing pada umur 3,7,14,21 dan 28 hari. Hasil uji tekan beton menggunakan semen organik diperoleh 8,52 MPa pada metode water curing dan 14,52 MPa pada metode dry curing, sedang pada beton yang menggunakan semen portland yaitu 22,37 MPa pada metode water curing dan 19,71 MPa pada metode dry curing. Hasil uji kuat tarik belah menggunakan semen organik pada umur beton 28 hari mencapai 0,96 MPa pada metode water curing dan 1,22 MPa pada metode dry curing. Adapun yang menggunakan semen portland yaitu 2,03 MPa pada metode water curing dan 2,03 MPa pada metode dry curing. Hasil uji fisis berat jenis semen organik adalah 3,01 gr/ml sedang untuk semen portland adalah 3.16 gr/ml. Berat jenis semen organik 3,05 gr/ml dan berat jenis semen portland yaitu 3,15 gr/ml. Kehalusan butiran semen organik yang lolos pada ayakan 200 mesh sebanyak 56%, lebih halus dari semen portland yaitu 52%. Berat padat semen organik 1200 kg/m3 lebih ringan dari semen portland yang mencapai 1250 kg/m3. Waktu ikat awal semen organik adalah 105 menit dan waktu ikat akhir semen organik adalah ke 225. Untuk semen portland waktu ikat awalnya adalah 90 menit sedang waktu ikat akhirnya mencapai 180 menit.

Pertimbangannya terletak pada segi kemudahan untuk mendapatkan dan kemudahan dalam segi penggunaan. Terdapat berbagai macam produk semen yang ada di Indonesia, hal tersebut membuat tingkat penggunaan semen akan berbeda sesuai dengan kemampuan semen itu sendiri terutama untuk mengikat material lain yang ada di beton. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kuat tekan pada beton dengan mengunakan berbagai jenis produk semen. Adapun jenis produk semen yang peneliti gunakan ialah, Semen Tiga Roda, Semen Gresik, Semen Padang, Semen Holcim, Semen Batu Raja, serta semen Tonasa. Dengan membuat 12 benda uji berdimensi kubus 15 x 15 x 15 cm dan kuat tekan rencana K-175 atau 14,5 MPa. Pengujian yang dilakukan berupa slump test (uji slump) dan uji kuat tekan beton pada umur 7 hari dan 14 hari. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat mengetahui perbandingan kuat tekan beton dengan beberapa jenis produk semen. Nilai kuat tekan tertinggi diperoleh dari beton dengan menggunakan semen padang dan semen tonasa pada umur beton 14 hari yang mencapai 12,89 MPa. Sedangkan hasil kuat tekan terendah diperoleh dari beton dengan menggunakan semen holcim pada umur beton 14 hari yang mencapai 9,78 MPa.

Method of collectioninfluences the results of Semen analysis as does the technique of analysis. Spermatozoa areexamined for number (count), shape (morphology) and movement (motility) in order to assesstheir quality. Non sperm cells, volume, Fructose level, pH, liquefaction are also checked asa part of routine analysis. Objectives: To describe the pattern of semen parameters in subfertilemales. To look into frequency and distribution of abnormal semen parameters in a groupof Pakistani males in Lahore. Methods: In this Retrospective, cross sectional, observationalstudy all males undergoing for evaluation and treatment for sub-fertility at a private AssistedReproductive Technology clinic in Lahore, Pakistan were included. Approval of the IRB wassought and data collection instrument was a specially designed Performa which was validatedby the biostatistician of LIFE research cell. Data was extracted from the files of LIFE (LahoreInstitute of Fertility and Endocrinology) and entered in SPSS version 15. Sampling techniquewas non-probability, consecutive. Semen analysis was done by methods defined by the WHO(World Health Organization). Results: Of total patient (n=679) 92.2% (626) males passed sampleat LIFE (Lahore institute of fertility and endocrinology) and (7.8%) 53 brought sample fromhome. Of the males who passed sample at LIFE (78.8%) 535 collected semen by masturbation,(11.9%) 81 by coitus; the source of sample of (9.3%) 63 males was not known. As 2-6 ml semenwas consider to be normal by WHO criteria, (80.6%) 547 males were in normal range (14.1%)96 found to be less than 2-6 ml and (5.3%) 36 found to be more than normal range. Accordingto WHO criteria 15 million/ml count is said to be normal, in our research (82.0%) 557 were foundto be normal, in (2.9%) 20 count was found to be less than 15 million/ml and in (5.9%) 40 countwas less than 1 million/ml. In (9.1%) 62 counts was found to be abnormally low. In this research(66.1%) 449 had normal sperm motility, (21.8%) 148 had less than 40% and abnormally lowsperm motility was found in (12.1%) 82 males. Conclusion: The results of the single semenanalysis are of limited utility and no decision should be taken on the bases of these results interm of diagnosis and treatment strategies.

Background: Male infertility is a frequent reproductive health problem in the world. It is usually related to abnormal spermproduction or function and these abnormalities can occur anywhere in the production of sperm including hormonal regulation, storage andtransport of sperm. Various factors are known to be responsible for seminal fluid abnormalities. Usually the first step in evaluating for maleinfertility is semen analysis. Setting: The study was conducted at Muhimbili National Hospital mainly in the department of Pathology laboratory,cytology unit. Study design: The study was a hospital based cross-sectional type. Objective: To determine semen pH in patients presenting withinfertility complains and relate how pH of seminal fluid and other semen parameters influence each other. Material and methods: Beforesemen collection, patients were instructed to abstain from sexual intercourse for a minimum of 48 hours to 7 days and collect semen bymasturbation and transport it to the laboratory through shirt pocket. Semen was to reach the laboratory for examination in not more than onehour from time of collection. Semen was examined macroscopically for volume, colour, viscosity and pH by using a pH meter (Consort C830)followed by microscopic examination which included motility of spermatozoa and sperm count by using Neuber counting chamber. The smearwas made on glass slides, fixed in 95% ethyl alcohol for 30 minutes then stained by using Papanicolaou’s staining technique and then analyzedmicroscopically for morphological examination. Results: In the analysis of the influence of semen parameters on semen pH, there wasdecrease in seminal fluid pH with age whereby as age increased the pH of seminal fluid decreased.. The general trend observed was that thepH of seminal fluid tended to decrease with an increase in the days of abstinence. pH tended to decrease with an increase of seminal fluidvolume. The pH of seminal fluid also increased with an increase in viscosity (Hyperviscosity &gt;Hypoviscosity). The pH of seminal fluid in patientswith less than 50% forward progressive movement of spermatozoa was higher when compared to those with more than 50% forwardprogressive movement. pH had an influence on the motility of spermatozoa. Conclusions and recommendation: pH and other parameterstended to have an influence each other during seminal analysis in our study. There is a variation of pH in different parts of the World according tothe studies done. It is recommended that pH should be included during seminal analysis because our study has shown that it affects most of theseminal fluid parameters in and contribute to the problem of infertility.

Objective: The objective of this study was to study the semen parameters and its relation to hormonal status in infertile men. Study Design: Cross sectional study. Period: March 2015 to April 2017. Setting: Jinnah Hospital Fertility Centre; Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lahore. Method: A total of 70 infertile men were included in this study. Semen samples for semen analysis and serum for hormonal analysis were obtained and further tests were performed. Results: The results of our study show that 28.57% were Normospermic, 18.56% were azoospermic and 52.85% were Oligospermic. In Oligospermic and azoospermic patients significant low levels of testosterone and prolactin were noticed. The results indicate that along with semen parameters hormonal levels should also be assessed to diagnose the underlying cause of infertility. Conclusion: It is concluded from our study that both quality of semen and hormonal levels cause infertility in men. Therefore the patients should be properly investigated and should be treated accordingly to the underlying abnormality. This is a regional study and further studies should be conducted to have a conclusive evidence at national level.

The aim of the present study was the modification and evaluation of three different semen extenders for cockatiel semen in order to achieve a long survival time for transport, examination purpose and for potential cryopreservation, respectively. Therefore, individual and pooled semen samples of 30 cockatiels (Nymphicus hollandicus) were investigated for pH and osmolality values and subsequently pH and osmolality values of the semen extenders were adjusted to those values in the semen. Pooled semen samples were then partitioned into four equal parts and diluted with the three different semen extenders in 1:4 and 1:8 dilution. 1 % glucose-Ringer’s solution was used as control, respectively. A total of 64 incremental diluted semen samples were obtained for investigation. Each dilution was investigated regarding sperm motility immediately after dilution and another four times every 30 minutes. Sperm viability was evaluated 0 and 120 minutes after dilution via eosin B-stain on the diluted semen samples and in pure semen samples. Additionally, the fluorescence stain SYBR® Green/propidium iodide was used to assess sperm viability. The results indicate that cockatiel spermatozoa are highly sensitive to variations in pH and osmolality, requiring adjustment of commercial diluents to pH = 7.42 and osmolality = 300 mOsm/kg. Modified Lake diluent maintained higher viability and motility than other diluents tested. Sperm morphology was indicated to be least adversely affected by modified Lake diluent in 1:4 concentration compared to other semen extenders and concentrations used.

Industri semen merupakan industry strategis yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam setiap negara. Dimana perkembangan infrastruktur memegang peranan penting dalam pembangunan nasional salah satu material penunjang untuk melakukan pembangunan nasional adalah semen (cement). Semen adalah komoditi yang memanfaatkan sumber daya alam berupa batu kapur, tanah liat, pasir besi dan pasir silika melalui proses pembakaran pada temperatur tinggi. Secara umum semen dapat didefinisikan sebagai perekat hidrolisis yang dihasilkan dari penggilingan klinker yang kandungan utamanya kalsium silikat dan bahan tambahan berupa kalsium sulfat. Semen disebut sebagai bahan perekat hidrolisis karena senyawa-senyawa yang terkandung di dalam semen tersebut dapat bereaksi dengan air dan membentuk zat baru yang bersifat merekatkan terhadap batuan. Meningkatnya pertumbuhan semen sampai saat ini masih dipengaruhi oleh tingginya tingkat pembangunan oleh sektor negeri maupun swasta serta tingginya kebutuhan perumahan bagi masyarakat.&#x0D; Permasalahan yang dialami oleh PT. Semen Baturaja Tbk. adalah peningkatan kualitas kuat tekan produksi semen. Salah satu upaya meningkatkan kualitas kuat tekan semen melalui proses produksi dengan menggunakan material bahan baku dan bahan pendukung yang bersifat tak bisa diperbaharui, serta material bahan pendukung yang berasal dari hasil daur ulang. Pemanfatan ke-lima bahan baku tambahan yaitu clinker, gypsum, trass, batu kapur, dan fly ash yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kuat tekan produk semen.&#x0D; Dalam Pembuatan Semen PT. Baturaja dimana, semua senyawa utama untuk semen terdapat dalam batu kapur dan tanah liat, tetapi tidak semua batu kapur dan tanah liat memiliki proporsi kimia yang memenuhi untuk membuat semen dengan kualitas semen yang diinginkan. Oleh karena itu, pada proses pembuatan semen bahan baku utama tersebut biasanya ditambah bahan lain sebagai koreksi unsur kimia yang kurang, yaitu berupa pasir besi dan pasir silika. Senyawa kimia yang terdapat dalam bahan baku dan yang diperlukan adalah Oksida Kalsium (CaO), Oksida Silisium (SiO2), Oksida Alumunium (Al2O3) dan Oksida Besi (Fe2O3). Disamping senyawa-senyawa tersebut, terdapat juga senyawa-senyawa lain yang keberadaannya tidak diinginkan dan harus dibatasi, sepeti Magnesium Oksida (MgO), Alkali, Klorida, Sulfur, dan Fosfor. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini akan dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh bahan baku tambahan terhadap peningkatan kualitas kuat tekan produksi semen yang dihasilkan di PT. Semen Indonesia Tbk.

One of the important and underappreciated reproductive health problems in developing countries is the high rate of infertility and childlessness. A cross-sectional type of descriptive study was conducted to evaluate the male fertility status by the conventional semen analysis. This study was conducted in which 100 men with age ranged from 20 to 45 years of a primary and secondary infertile couple of more than one year, in the Infertility OPD of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka during October 2012 to March 2013. They were divided into two groups depending on the results of their semen analysis: 35 with abnormal semen and 65 with normal semen profile. The mean (±SD) age was 34.0±4.7 years in patients with abnormal semen and 33.9±5.6 years in patients with normal semen. Nearly one-third (31.42%) of the patients was a farmer in abnormal semen and 7.7% in normal semen. The majority (62.85%) of the abnormal semen patients worked in hot environments, STD was found 20.0% in patients with abnormal semen and 3.1% in patients with normal semen, mumps observed 8.6% in abnormal semen and 3.1% in normal semen patients. Surgical history was found 11.4% in abnormal semen and 1.5% in normal semen patients. Positive family history of infertility was found in 8.6% of abnormal semen patients but no positive family history of infertility was found in normal semen patients. Varicocele was found 25.7% in patients with abnormal semen and 21.5% in patients with normal semen. Primary subfertility was 91.4% in abnormal semen patients and 58.5% in normal semen patients. Farmer, hot working environment, STD, surgical history, positive family history, primary subfertility were significantly (p&lt;0.05) higher in patients with abnormal semen. The highest number of patients were oligospermic (51.4) followed by azoospermia 22.9%, asthenozoospermia 17.1%, teratozoospermia 5.7% and aspermia 2.9%. Occupational exposure, STD, hot environment, past surgical history has a significant negative impact on male infertility.

Satu alternatif untuk mengatasi kesulitan ( kemahalan ) pengadaan batu yang memenuhi persyaratan adalah dengan menstabilisasi tanah setempat yang berkualitas dengan campuran semen Porland sehingga menghasilkan suatu pondasi perkerasan yang cukup kuat, tahan terhadap air, permukaan yang halus, dan tahan lama.Di Indonesia pekerjaan Lapis Pondasi Tanah Semen sudah cukup lama digunakann di Propinsi Riau yang mempunyai permasalahan yang hampir sama dengan propinsi Kalimantan Timur yaitu tidak mempunyai material batu yang memenuhi persyaratan untuk pembangunan jalan. Dengan beberapa pertimbangan ekonomi, teknis dan waktu pelaksanaan, maka sejak tahun 2000, propinsi Kalimantan Timur sudah memulai menerapkan pembangunan jalan dengan Lapis Pondasi Tanah Semen dan sampai saat ini masih diterapkan pada sebagian besar pembangunan jalan. Sedangkan pada proyek Pembangunan Jalan Panjitan – Damanhuri – Samarinda dikerjakan pada tahun 2005-2006 / 2006-2007 dengan menggunakan Lapis Pondasi Tahah Semen.Untuk memberikan gambaran tentang kondisi yang ada di lapangan dan bagaimana caranya untuk mempercepat program perkerasan jalan dengan anggaran biaya yang memadai dan menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas serta tercapainya proses transportasi darat yang bisa cepat dilalui, menganalisa perbandingan biaya antara Lapis Pondasi Tahah Semen dengan menggunakan Aggregate Base, sehingga biasa digunakan para praktisi untuk mempertimbangkan struktur yang dipakai, diambil dari perbandingan yang sedang atau telah dikerjakan pada proyek Pembangunan Jalan Panjaitan – Damanhuri – Samarinda Propinsi Kalimantan Timur dan Membandingkan kelebihan dan kekurangan dari penerapan pekerjaan SOIL SEMENT dengan AGGREGAT BASE, objek penelitian dalam studi ini adalah tanah dilokasi proyek pembangunan jalan Panjaitan-Damanhuri Samarinda. Dan variabel yang digunakan adalah Biaya antara Lapis Pondasi Tahah Semen dengan menggunakanaAggregate Base dan Soil Sement.Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa Nilai batas UCS minimum (20 kg/cm2), target (24 kg/cm2) dan maksimum (35 kg/cm2) untuk Soil Cement Baseyang disyaratkan SNI 03-3637-1994 dapat dicapai dengan mencampur tanah tersebut dengan prosentase semen masing-masing 6,94 %, 8,40 % dan 12,42 %, sedangkan Nilai batas CBR minimum (100 %), target (120 %) dan maksimum (200 %) untuk Soil Cement Base yang disyaratkan SNI 03-1744-1989 dapat dicapai dengan mencampur tanah tersebut dengan prosentase semen masing-masing 7,33 %, 8,85 % dan 14,96 %. Untuk mendapat nilai UCS (Unconfined Compressive Streght) yang disyaratkan yaitu sebesar 24 kg/cm², maka setelah dilakukan perhitungan didapat nilai :- Kadar Semen = 8,4 %- Dan Nilai CBR = 114,061 %Sehingga berdasarkan dari evaluasi pengujian / pemeriksaan dan perhitungan di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kadar semen yang diperlukan untuk mendapatkan nilai UCS 24 kg/cm² adalah 8,4 % terhadap berat contoh tanah. Dan hasil hasil perhitungan biaya didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut :a) Harga pondasi jalan menggunakan Agregat sebesarRp. 1.272.347,72 per m2b) Harga pondasi jalan menggunakan SCB sebesar Rp. 1.110.245,77 per m2c) Harga total pekerjaan jalan secara OE (Owner Estimate) sebesar Rp. 2.005.000,00 per m2

&#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kualitas semen segar, cair dan beku Kambing PE dan Kambing Saanen. Materi yang digunakan adalah semen segar, cair dan beku kambing PE dan Saanen. Semen berasal dari BBIB Singosari. Metode penelitian eksperimental menggunakan data primer. Data perbedaan kualitas semen antara Kambing PE dan Saanen dianalisis menggunakan uji T tidak berpasangan. Variabel respon yang diamati adalah motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas. Hasil penelitian adalah kualitas semen segar, cair dan beku antara kambing PE dan Saanen tidak berbeda nyata (p&gt;0,05) kecuali viabilitas semen segar berbeda nyata (p&lt;0,05). Rata-rata (%) perbandingan antara Kambing PE dan Kambing Saanen untuk abnormalitas PE 3,71±1,8 dan 4,98±1,4 ; motilitas semen segar 61,89±4,6 dan 69,16±8,9 ; Viabilitas semen segar 75,15±2,0 dan 80,40±2,4 ; abnormalitas semen cair 4,99±1,6 dan 6,04±1,6 ; motilitas semen cair 51,43±6,1 dan 59,70±4,5 ; viabilitas semen cair 65,73±3,6 dan 71,02±1,0 ; abnormalitas semen beku 8,42±2,2 dan 8,23±3,6 ; motilitas semen beku 32,65±4,8 dan 42,28±9,5 ; viabilitas semen beku 51,18±3,4 dan 57,04±5,5. Kesimpulan adalah motilitas dan abnormalitas spermatozoa semen segar tidak berbeda antara Kambing PE dan Saanen tetapi persentase viabilitas spermatozoa segar Kambing Saanen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Kambing PE. Disarankan dilakukan penelitian lanjutan untuk mengetahui angka kebuntingan dari semen Kambing PE dan Saanen.&#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D;

Pada tahun 2030, pemerintah mencanangkan target sebesar 29% terhadap pengurangan emisi gas rumah kaca, hal itu dapat didukung dengan mengurangi konsumsi energi industri antara lain semen, kertas, baja dan lainnya. Potensi penurunan emisi CO2 sebesar 3,34 juta ton dapat terpenuhi apabila penggunaan semen OPC (semen konvensional) digantikan dengan semen PCC (semen ramah lingkungan). Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetauhi pemanfaatan semen OPC dan semen PCC yang telah ditambahkan superplasticizer Sikament-NN. Benda uji yang digunakan adalah silinder dengan tinggi 30 cm dan diameter 15 cm.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kuat tekan beton umur 28 hari dengan menggunakan semen OPC lebih tinggi 4,59% yakni 29,16 MPa, sedangkan dengan menggunakan semen PCC kuat tekan beton sebesar 27,88 MPa. Pemanfaatan semen OPC ditambahkan dengan sikamen-NN 1% mampu meningkatkan kuat tekan sebesar 46,64% dan pemanfaatan semen PCC ditambahkan dengan sikament-NN 2% mampu meningkatkan kuat tekan 40,96% dari kuat tekan rencana. Kuat tekan beton umur 7 hari dengan menggunakan semen OPC sebesar 21,09 MPa, sedangkan semen PPC memiliki kuat tekan 17,41 MPa. Penggunaan semen PCC, PCC dengan Sikament-NN 1% dan PCC dengan Sikament-NN 2% mampu meningkatkan kuat tekan beton secara berturut-turut 11,52%, 30,78% dan 40,96% dari kuat tekan rencana umur 28 hari.

Liquid storage of semen preservation for poultry species is deemed to be the only reliable and cost effective method compare to cryopreservation. This experiment was conducted to examine the preservation capacity of Tris coconut-water orange juice extender (TCWOE) on tom and cock semen for artificial insemination. TCWOE was prepared. Semen ejaculates were collected and pooled from five toms and cocks separately. The pooled semen from each species was divided into two portions and in one portion of each species the extender was added in the ratio of 1:3 (semen: extender), making a total of four treatments. Experimental design used was a complete randomized design consisting of three trials. Semen microscopic parameters like motility, viability, membrane integrity, and acrosome integrity were examined and recorded for freshly extended semen and preserved semen at 4-8oC every 12 h interval till 72 h. The motility and membrane integrity of freshly extended cock semen was significantly higher (P&lt;0.05) compared to motility of extended tom semen and membrane integrity of un-extended tom semen. During storage up to 24 h, extended tom and cock semen showed significantly higher (P&lt;0.05) motility and membrane integrity compare to un-extended semen. Extended cock semen had significant (P&lt;0.05) higher percentage motility, livability and membrane integrity compared to un-extended and extended tom semen from 36 h to 72 h of storage. However, no significant difference (P&gt;0.05) was observed for acrosome integrity. Conclusively, cock semen survived longer and had better results considerable for artificial insemination than tom semen up to 72 h storage. However, the extender was beneficial for storage of both species semen.

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui produksi semen segar, konsentrasi spermatozoa dan produksi semen beku (straw) dari sapi pejantan dengan skor kondisi tubuh (SKT) yang berbeda, serta SKT pejantan yang ideal untuk dijadikan sebagai produsen semen yang baik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksanaan Teknis Dinas Inseminasi Buatan dan Produksi Semen (UPTD IB) Puca, Kab. Maros, Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan dan Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan Singosari Jawa Timur. Bangsa Sapi yang digunakan adalah Bali, Limosin, Simmental dan Brahman yang memiliki SKT sedang (4-5), optimum (6-7) dan gemuk (8-9). Data yang diambil adalah produksi semen segar (evaluasi secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis) dan semen beku. Metode koleksi semen yang dilakukan yaitu menggunakan vagina buatan/tiruan dengan frekuensi koleksi semen 1- 2 kali dalam sepekan. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Produksi semen segar dengan melakukan evaluasi kualitas semen segar secara makroskopis (volume), (2) Evaluasi spermatozoa secara mikroskopis (konsentrasi), dan (3) Produksi semen beku dalam jumlah straw yang dihasilkan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi General Linier Model dan dilanjutkan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (Uji Tukey) (Steel dan Torrie, 1993). Kesimpulan Penelitian ini yaitu Skor kondisi tubuh berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap produksi semen segar (volume), konsentrasi spermatozoa, dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi semen beku Pejantan dengan SKT optimum memiliki produksi semen segar, konsentrasi spermatozoa, dan produksi semen beku tertinggi kemudian diikuti oleh SKT gemuk dan sedang.

Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai penyelamatan lingkungan dan penemuan bahan bangunan alternatif terbaru. Dalam penelitian ini, telah menghasilkan semen organik yang merupakan semen alternatif terbaru selain dari semen portland yang dibuat melalui sistem daur ulang limbah organik, fly ash, bottom ash, dan substitusi tanah mediteran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengujian laboratorium. Pengujian digunakan untuk menentukan unsur senyawa kimia pada masing-masing bahan utama semen organik. Dari hasil analisis senyawa kimia semen organik melalui metode pengujian laboratorium, telah ditemukan indikasi yang mirip dengan senyawa kimia semen portland dalam bentuk: CaO; 65,36%, SiO2 18,84%, Al2O3 6,33%, Fe2O3 2,29%, SO3 3,64%, MgO 1,35%, C3S 66, 72%, C2S 3,98%, C3A 12,9%, dan C4Af 6,97%. Bleeding beton semen organik untuk 1 m3 adalah 23,88 ml/cm2, lebih rendah dari bleeding beton semen portland yang mencapai 31,83 ml/cm2. Kadar udara beton semen organik dalam 1 m3 adalah 2,2%, sedang kadar udara beton semen portland mencapai 1,9%. Berat unit semen organik diperoleh 1.200 kg/m3, lebih ringan dari semen portland yang mencapai 1.250 kg/m3.

Untuk memahami dan mempelajari seluruh perilaku elemen gabungan pembentuk beton diperlukan pengetahuan tentang karakteristik masing-masing komponen pembentuk beton yaitu semen, agregat halus, agregat kasar dan air. Misalkan Semen A yang memiliki ketahanan yang tinggi terhadap sulfat, sehingga menghasilkan beton yang kuat dan bertekstur lebih halus. Sedangkan untuk Semen B adalah semen yang termasuk dalam kategori Blended Cement atau semen campur. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat perbandingan kuat tekan beton fc-20,75 dengan 2 (dua) merek semen yang berbeda, dengan metode perawatan (curing) dan tidak dirawat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai rata-rata dari hasil kuat tekan beton tersebut sehingga dapat dibandingkan hasil semen manakah yang lebih kuat. Berdasarkan hasil uji tekan didapatkan mutu beton tertinggi untuk Semen A sebesar 22,89 Mpa dan untuk Semen B sebesar 21,76 MPa. Sedangkan untuk beton yang tidak dilakukan perawatan, didapatkan mutu beton tertinggi 19,15 MPa untuk Semen A dan 17,41 MPa untuk Semen B. Artinya pemberian perawatan sangat berpengaruh tinggi dalam meningkatkan mutu kekuatan beton.

Semen menjadi salah satu kebutuhan utama manusia sebagai bahan konstruksi dalam pembangunan, baik di bidang perumahan, perhubungan, dan lain-lain. Namun semen dengan kualitas rendah akan berdampak pada kualitas pembangunan fisik suatu bangunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan konsentrasi 4 senyawa utama dalam semen terhadap 4 merk semen di kabupaten Alor yang dikodekan dengan c1, c2, c3, dan c4, dengan menggunakan X-RF dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis menggunakan stoikiometri Bogue. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi komponen kimia A (Al2O3) tidak ditemukan dalam semen dengan kode semen c1, c2, dan c3, serta konsentrasi komponen kimia (SO3) tidak ditemukan dalam semen dengan kode semen c1, c2, dan c4. Hasil analisis terhadap sampel c3 dan c4 menunjukkan tidak ditemukannya konsentrasi 2 senyawa utama dalam sampel semen yakni C2Sdan C3A. Hal ini dapat diduga bahwa semen kehilangan sebagaian senyawa akibat waktu dan jarak distribusi semen dari produsen ke distributor serta akibat situasi dan kondisi dalam lingkungan distributor.

Tom semen dilution and liquid storage requires the identification of suitable extenders in order to expedite genetic improvement and transmission of turkey germplasm. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of two naturally made semen extenders, tris egg-yolk orange (TEYO) juice and tris coconut-water orange (TCWO) juice, to preserve semen. For the experiment, five mature toms at the age of reproduction were utilized. Each tom was ejaculated individually followed by pooling of semen. The pooled semen was added to the extender in the ratio of 1:3 (semen: extender). Experimental design was completely randomized design. Samples were immediately examined for microscopic semen quality and further kept for a period of 72h. The microscopic semen quality factors examined were acrosome integrity, viability membrane, and motility in freshly extended semen and semen stored for 72h at every 12h interval. The results showed that percentage sperm motility was significantly (p &lt; 0.05) different among the treatments. Percentage live sperm of TEYO and TCWO extended tom semen were significantly different (p &lt; 0.05) compared to the neat semen from 12 to 72h of storage. Significantly greater (p &gt; 0.05) sperm membrane integrity was recorded for TCWO extended tom semen compared to TEYO extended and neat tom semen from 12 to 72h of storage. In conclusion, TCWO extender preserved tom sperm for longer period of storage compare to TEYO extender and un-extended semen, which was evident in motility and membrane integrity result.

Semen quantity and quality are affected by transportation and frequent semen collection in ram when they are transported from nucleus flock to target farms for in situ artificial insemination (AI) of ewes with fresh semen. The current study was designed to introduce the best method of fresh semen preservation for fixed time AI in Karakul sheep. The adult Karakul ewes were allocated to 6 groups (30 ewes in each group) during the breeding season and each group was inseminated with one of the following treatments, viz. fresh semen without extender, fresh semen diluted with Tris-egg yolk or milk, cooled semen (stored at 10°C for 8 h) without extender, and cooled semen diluted with Tris-egg yolk or milk. Lambing and fecundity rates were the highest when ewe was inseminated with undiluted fresh semen (71.42 and 85.71%, respectively). These reproductive indices in ewes, which were inseminated with diluted fresh semen or undiluted cooled semen were significantly lower than those recorded in inseminated ewes with undiluted fresh semen. The type of extender and storage of diluted semen at 10°C for 8 h did not significantly affect lambing rate of Karakul ewe. Results suggested that use of undiluted fresh semen and diluted fresh semen in milk or Tris-egg yolk extenders are preferable for fixed time AI in ewes of genetic improvement center and Karakul sheep flocks located near to this center, respectively.

Salah satu cara untuk mengurangi nilai impor daging sapi secara nasional yaitu dengan program peningkatan jumlah anakan sapi potong pada skala peternak rakyat, melalui peningkatan efisiensi reproduksi sapi menggunakan teknologi inseminasi buatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kualitas semen segar dan semen beku sapi pejantan Limousin. Metode penelitian menggunakan eksploratif laboratoris. Hasil pengamatan makroskopis menunjukkan bahwa nilai volume semen segar adalah 4,4-7,2 ml, sementara hasil pengamatan warna pada semen segar maupun semen beku semuanya berwarna putih susu. Konsistensi pada semen segar termasuk kental, sedangkan pada semen beku tergolong cair. Pengukuran pH pada semen segar dan beku menunjukkan hasil 6,7. Sementara itu, hasil pengukuran motilitas semen segar diperoleh nilai 77% dan pada semen beku menunjukkan hasil 41,5%. Abnormalitas semen segar menunjukkan nilai 1,30%, sedangkan pada semen beku diperoleh hasil 0,00%. Hasil pemeriksaan konsentrasi spermatozoa pada semen segar sebanyak 1.426(106)/ml, sedangkan pada semen beku sebesar 26,6(106)/ml. Hasil evaluasi mikroskopis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima variabel yang berbeda nyata (p&lt;0,05) yaitu volume, kekentalan, motilitas, abnormalitas, dan konsentrasi, serta terdapat dua variabel yang menunjukkan tidak beda nyata (p&gt;0,05) yaitu warna dan pH. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata pada lima variabel yang diukur tetapi perbedaan tersebut masih dalam batas ambang yang wajar sesuai standar baku mutu kualitas yang diterbitkan oleh Badan Standarisasi Nasional Tahun 2021.

This study aimed to evaluate the fresh semen characteristics, frozen semen production potential, and frozen semen quality of Toraya buffaloes at the Technical Implementation Unit for Artificial Insemination Services and Semen Production (UPT-PIBPS) Pucak, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Two bulls, Sopai and Sadoko, were assessed to determine their reproductive potential. Fresh semen analysis showed that Sopai produced the highest number of ejaculates (84), with an average ejaculate volume of 1.88±0.19 mL and sperm concentration of 1133.91±31.13 million/mL. In contrast, Sadoko demonstrated a higher sperm concentration (1466.55±71.35 million/mL) and a greater number of potential straws per ejaculate (78.89) compared to Sopai (59.51). Analysis of frozen semen revealed significantly higher quality in Sopai's semen (p&lt;0.05). The Sopai semen may be better suited for artificial insemination programs emphasizing frozen semen quality and cryopreservation efficiency, while Sadoko's higher sperm concentration and greater straw production potential could be advantageous for large-scale artificial insemination programs requiring high semen output. In conclusion, the fresh semen characteristics, frozen semen production potential, and overall quality of Toraya buffaloes at UPT-PIBPS Pucak meet the standards for frozen semen production. The consistent ejaculate volume, high motility, and adequate sperm concentration highlight their strong potential to support artificial insemination programs in Indonesia.

Pure semen and semen containing 30% transparent fluid (TF) were diluted twofold in Van Wambeke's diluent and stored for 24 h at 2–5 °C. Caged dwarf breeders were inseminated weekly for 5 consecutive weeks with: (a) 0.08 mL of pure, stored semen per hen (310 × 106 sp.), (b) 0.08 mL of semen containing TF (217 × 106 spermatozoa (sp.)), (c) 0.092 mL of semen containing TF (250 × 106 sp.), or (d) 0.025 mL of pure, fresh semen (194 × 106 sp.). There were no significant differences (P &gt; 0.05) in fertility, hatchability and embryonic mortality between the fresh control and the pure, stored semen nor with the supplementation of semen with TF. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of Horasi chicken ecotype semen dilution, insemination dosage, and frequency of insemination on spermatozoa fertility potentials (hatchability and fertility). Twenty adult hens and four cockerels were used in a 2×2×2 factorial experiment. The factors were semen type (undiluted versus diluted semen), insemination volume (0.5 versus 0.1 ml), and insemination frequency (once versus twice inseminations per week). Egg fertility and hatchability among semen type, semen volume and insemination frequency varied from 68.35 ± 2.10 to 82.20 ± 2.29, and 59.38 ± 2.15 to 86.87 ± 2.57; 70.99 ± 2.45 to 79.56 ± 2.62, and 69.33 ± 3.88 to 76.92 ± 3.83; 67.41 ± 1.99 to 83.15 ± 2.06, and 68.53 ± 4.16 to 77.73 ± 3.40 respectively. The type of semen significantly (P ˂0.05) affected both fertility and hatchability. Higher fertility was recorded in hens inseminated with diluted fresh semen than those inseminated using undiluted fresh semen in all semen volumes and insemination frequencies. Insemination volume and insemination frequency had a significant (P ˂0.05) effect only on fertility. Higher egg fertility was observed in hens inseminated with 0.5mL of semen compared to those inseminated using 0.1mL of semen irrespective of semen type and insemination frequency. Also, hens inseminated twice a week had higher egg fertility in comparison to those inseminated once a week irrespective of semen volume and semen type. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the BPSE improved the fertilizing potential of fresh stored sperm and subsequent hatchability, while inseminating dose and insemination frequency only affected fertility. Thus, twice weekly insemination with diluted semen using 0.5mL of semen will maximize fertility and hatchability of Horasi chicken ecotype eggs.

&lt;p dir="ltr"&gt;&lt;span&gt;Abstrak: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;fly ash &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;sebagai substitusi parsial semen dengan variasi 10%, 15%, dan 20% terhadap: 1) penyerapan air segmen kolom struktur modular; 2) kuat tekan segmen kolom struktur modular; 3) kriteria beton ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan melakukan uji penyerapan air dan uji kuat tekan segmen kolom struktur modular yang mengacu pada SNI dengan perawatan selama 28 hari. Komposisi bahan yang digunakan untuk setiap segmen yaitu 3,273 kg PC:8,75 kg PS:9,477 Kr dan FAS 0,55. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) penambahan &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;fly ash &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;sebagai substitusi parsial semen berpengaruh pada penyerapan air segmen kolom struktur modular beton dan diperoleh penyerapan air minimal pada variasi &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;fly ash &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;15% yaitu sebesar 5,523%; 2) penambahan &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;fly ash &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;sebagai substitusi parsial semen berpengaruh pada kuat tekan maksimal segmen kolom struktur modular beton dan kuat tekan maksimal didapatkan pada variasi &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;fly ash &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;15% yaitu sebesar 168,80 kgf/cm&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;2&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;; 3) &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;fly ash &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;sebagai substitusi parsial semen pada kolom struktur modular masuk kategori ramah lingkungan dan dapat mengurangi semen sebanyak 49,09 kg/m&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;3&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; serta mereduksi gas CO2 sebanyak 15%.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;span id="docs-internal-guid-90b1d237-7fff-7ea6-64f4-2455b8196163"&gt;&lt;span&gt;Abstract: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;This study aims to analyze the effect of fly ash as a partial cement substitution with variations of 10%, 15%, and 20% toward 1) water absorption in the column segment of the modular structure; 2) the compressive strength in the column segment of the modular structure; 3) concrete environmentally friendly criteria. This research was experimental research by testing the water absorption segment of the modular structure column and the compressive strength test of the modular structure column with 28 days of treatment. The composition of the material used for each segment was 3,273 kg Portland Cement: 8,75 kg Sand:9,477 Coarse Aggregate and 0,55 of Water Cement Ratio. This study confirms that: 1) fly ash as a partial cement substitution effect on water absorption of the modular structural column segment with minimal water absorption at 15% fly ash, which is 5,523%; 2) the maximum compressive strength of the modular structural column segment is 168.80 kg/cm&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;2&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; at 15% fly ash; 3) fly ash as a partial substitution of cement produces environmentally friendly structural columns and can reduce cement use by 49.09 kg/m3 and reduce CO2 gas by 15%.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Bersamaan dengan perkembangannya, perusahaan industri dituntut untuk bersaing dengan sesama perusahaan sejenis agar dapat menciptakan produk dengan spesifikasi terbaik untuk kepuasan pelanggan yang terpenuhi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menguji pengaruh kualitas produk terhadap kepuasan pelanggan semen Baturaja di Palembang pada PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk, menggunakan metode kuantitatif penelitian statistik dan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier sederhana. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah konsumen bisnis yang menjadi mitra bisnis PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk di Palembang dan sampel adalah 78 responden yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Hasil uji validitas instrumen menunjukkan bahwa r hitung ≥ r tabel artinya semua pernyataan item valid dan reliabilitas di atas 0,70 yang berarti reliabel. Jika dilihat berdasarkan uji t, menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung adalah (5,232) ≥ t tabel (1,665) sig (0,000) ≤ 0,05. Ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas produk sebagian dipengaruhi kepuasan pelanggan. Dari hasil korelasi, menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara kualitas produk dan kepuasan pelanggan dengan asumsi moderat yaitu 51,5%. Kemudian, koefisien determinasi (R2) adalah 0,265 atau 26,5% dari kualitas produk pada kepuasan pelanggan, sedangkan sisanya 73,5% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Kata Kunci; &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Kualitas Produk, Pelanggan, Kepuasaan, Sement Baturaja&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
