The first part of this dissertation reports an outbreak of Senecio brasiliensis poisoning in cows where the main clinical sign was photosensitization. Adult cows that were placed during six months in a 205-hectare pasture heavily infested by Senecio brasiliensis were affected in September, 2013. Photosensitization was seen in 83 out 162 cows. To establish the prevalence of diseases in sheep flocks in North-east Scotland responsive to the application of preventative measures which may be incorporated in flock management plans. A survey of a sample of commercial sheep flocks was carried out to ascertain management and marketing practices.
