Resumen
Half of US school children receive influenza vaccine. In our previous trials, school-located influenza vaccination (SLIV) raised vaccination rates by 5 to 8 percentage points. We assessed whether text message reminders to parents could raise vaccination rates above those observed with SLIV. Within urban elementary schools we randomized families into text message + SLIV (intervention) versus SLIV alone (comparison). All parents were sent 2 backpack notifications plus 2 autodialer phone reminders about SLIV at a single SLIV clinic. Intervention group parents also were sent 3 text messages from the school nurse encouraging flu vaccination via either primary care or SLIV. Among 15 768 children at 32 schools, vaccination rates were text + SLIV (40%) and SLIV control (40%); 4% of students per group received influenza vaccination at SLIV. Text message reminders did not raise influenza vaccination rates above those observed with SLIV alone. More intensive interventions are needed to raise influenza vaccination rates.

Resumen
Abstract Immunization against influenza continues to be the best method of preventing influenza infection in children, and additionally, indirectly helping to lower disease in adults, given the role of children as “spreaders” of influenza to the community at large. An increasing evidence base exists for the use of school-located influenza vaccination (SLIV) programs to increase the influenza vaccination rates among children. Live, attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) has unique characteristics that make it useful for SLIV programs, including ease of immunization without needles, faster delivery, and in many (but not all) years, good vaccine effectiveness. Reviewed herein are results of selected published trials as well as guidance on planning a successful SLIV program.

Resumen
Internal ribosome entry site (IRES)-mediated translation of input viral RNA is the initial required step for the replication of the positive-stranded genome of hepatitis C virus (HCV). We have shown previously the importance of the GCAC sequence near the initiator AUG within the stem and loop IV (SLIV) region in mediating ribosome assembly on HCV RNA. Here, we demonstrate selective inhibition of HCV-IRES-mediated translation using short hairpin (sh)RNA targeting the same site within the HCV IRES. sh-SLIV showed significant inhibition of viral RNA replication in a human hepatocellular carcinoma (Huh7) cell line harbouring a HCV monocistronic replicon. More importantly, co-transfection of infectious HCV–H77s RNA and sh-SLIV in Huh7.5 cells successfully demonstrated a significant decrease in viral RNA in HCV cell culture. Additionally, we report, for the first time, the targeted delivery of sh-SLIV RNA into mice liver using Sendai virosomes and demonstrate selective inhibition of HCV-IRES-mediated translation. Results provide the proof of concept that Sendai virosomes could be used for the efficient delivery of shRNAs into liver tissue to block HCV replication.

Resumen
Abstract The poliovirus type I IRES is able to recruit ribosomal machinery only in the presence of host factor PCBP2 that binds to stem–loop IV of the IRES. When PCBP2 is cleaved in its linker region by viral proteinase 3CD, translation initiation ceases allowing the next stage of replication to commence. Here, we investigate the interaction of PCBP2 with the apical region of stem–loop IV (SLIVm) of poliovirus RNA in its full-length and truncated form. CryoEM structure reconstruction of the full-length PCBP2 in complex with SLIVm solved to 6.1 Å resolution reveals a compact globular complex of PCBP2 interacting with the cruciform RNA via KH domains and featuring a prominent GNRA tetraloop. SEC-SAXS, SHAPE and hydroxyl-radical cleavage establish that PCBP2 stabilizes the SLIVm structure, but upon cleavage in the linker domain the complex becomes more flexible and base accessible. Limited proteolysis and REMSA demonstrate the accessibility of the linker region in the PCBP2/SLIVm complex and consequent loss of affinity of PCBP2 for the SLIVm upon cleavage. Together this study sheds light on the structural features of the PCBP2/SLIV complex vital for ribosomal docking, and the way in which this key functional interaction is regulated following translation of the poliovirus genome.

Based on the equations of motion and rheological theory of abrasive flow in the slit, effect between wall slip and grinding has been analyzed and grinding flow model of abrasive flow has been built in this paper. Wall pressure, wall shear stress, wall slip and the grinding force equation of abrasive flow were derived using the model. What is important, the effects of relevant factors were analyzed. The results show that wall slip is one of the necessary conditions that in abrasive flow machining, and show that main factors influencing wall slip are viscosity coefficient , grinding coefficient of abrasive flow, and the first normal stress difference. In the meantime, the results also show that grinding force in slit wall is proportional to the entrance pressure of slit. That is to say that the grinding force of per unit length in flow direction increasing dramatically with decreasing slit height.

Resumen
Single-sided Linear Induction Motors (SLIMs) have been widely used in various applications for demanding direct motion or wheelless contact, e.g, the maglev transportation, in which SLIMs are employed as the traction component. Due to its special structure, the SLIM will generate attractive force as it generates thrust force. Within limited input power, in order to maximize the thrust force and restrict the attractive force, a half region dynamical slip-frequency(HRDSF) control scheme for SLIM is proposed. If SLIM is operated under acceleration or deceleration operations,slip-frequency is controlled in the high slip-frequency region close to the maximum thrust point in order to obtain the maximum thrust, and if SLIM is operated under coasting operation, slip-frequency is automatically adjusted at large value to generate a particular thrust corresponding to moving resistance, and the attractive force values, meanwhile, are kept at small values. The validity of the proposed method are verified by both simulations and experimental tests.

Resumen
Wall slip in the flow of powder injection molding (PIM) compounds can be the cause of unrealistically low viscosity values, and can lead to a failure of flow simulation approaches. Regardless of its importance, it has been considered only scarcely in the rheological models applied to PIM materials. In this paper, an online extrusion rheometer equipped with rectangular slit dies was used to evaluate the slip velocity of commercial as well as in-house-prepared PIM feedstocks based on metallic and ceramic powders at close-to-processing conditions. The tested slit dies varied in their dimensions and surface roughness. The wall-slip effect was quantified using the Mooney analysis of slip velocities. The smaller gap height (1 mm) supported the wall-slip effect. It was shown that both the binder composition and the powder characteristic affect slip velocity. Slip velocity can be reduced by tailoring a powder particle size distribution towards smaller particle fractions. The thickness of the polymer layer formed at the channel wall is higher for water-soluble feedstocks, while in the case of the catalytic polyacetal feedstocks the effect of surface roughness was manifested through lower viscosity at smooth surfaces.

Resumen
Abstract. Bi-factor exploratory modeling has recently emerged as a promising approach to multidimensional psychological measurement. However, state-of-the-art methods relying on target rotation require researchers to select an arbitrary cut-off for defining the target matrix. Unfortunately, the consequences of such choice on factor recovery remain uninvestigated under realistic conditions (e.g., factors differing in their average loadings). Built upon the iterative target rotation based on Schmid-Leiman algorithm (SLi), a novel method is here introduced (SLiD). SLiD settles an empirical, factor-specific cut-off based on the first prominent one-lagged difference of sorted squared normalized factor loadings. SLiD and SLi with arbitrary cut-off (ranging from .05 to .20) performance were evaluated via Monte Carlo simulation manipulating sample size, number of specific factors, number of indicators, and cross-loading magnitude. Results indicate that SLiD performed the best for all conditions. For SLi, and due to the presence of minor factors, smaller cut-offs (i.e., .05) outperformed higher ones (i.e., .20).

Resumen
Numerical simulations have been undertaken for the benchmark problem of annular extrudate swell present in pipe extrusion and parison formation in blow molding. The effects of weak compressibility and slip at the wall are studied through simple linear laws. The finite element method is used to provide numerical results for different inner/outer diameter ratios κ under steady-state conditions for Newtonian fluids. The present results provide the shape of the extrudate, and, in particular, the thickness and diameter swells, as a function of the dimensionless compressibility and slip coefficients, B and Bsl, respectively. The pressures from the simulations have been used to compute the excess pressure losses in the flow field (exit correction). Weak compressibility slightly affects the thickness swell (about 1% in the range of simulations 0⩽B⩽0.02) mainly by a swell reduction, while slip drastically reduces the swelling to 1–2% for obvious slip (Bsl≈1) and to 0 for perfect slip (Bsl>10). The exit correction increases with increasing compressibility levels and is highest for the tube (κ=0) and lowest for the slit (κ=1). It decreases monotonically to 0 as the dimensionless slip coefficient reaches its asymptotic limit of perfect slip. All results are ordered with the diameter ratio κ, between the limits of tube (κ=0) and slit (κ=1).

In this paper, the mechanical behavior of steel-concrete composite slim beams was investigated by experiments, and the influence of sectional dimension of steel beams on the bending stiffness and flexural capacity of composite slim beams was evaluated. Test results show that good cooperative performance can be achieved in steel-concrete composite slim beams and the relative slip between steel and concrete is very small. The steel-concrete slim beam presents considerable deformation ability beyond the service stage, which indicates that the composite slim beam has good ductility. In addition, sectional dimension of steel beams is proved to have significant influence on both the bending stiffness and flexural capacity of composite slim beams.

Resumen
Slip of marine-terminating ice streams over beds of deformable till is responsible for most of the contribution of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet to sea level rise. Flow models of the ice sheet and till-bedded glaciers elsewhere require a law that relates slip resistance, slip velocity, and water pressure at the bed. We present results of experiments in which pressurized ice at its melting temperature is slid over a water-saturated till bed. Steady-state slip resistance increases with slip velocity owing to sliding of ice across the bed, but above a threshold velocity, till shears at its rate-independent Coulomb strength. These results motivate a generalized slip law for glacier-flow models that combines processes of hard-bedded sliding and bed deformation.

Resumen
Cumulative motion injuries and burnout contribute to an international shortage of signed language interpreters (SLIs). Studies using the Job Content Questionnaire, a well-validated measure of occupational health risks, indicate that risk levels differ among SLI work settings. Specifically, video relay service (VRS) and primary and secondary educational settings (K–12) are associated with greater health risks. The current study validated those results by analysing the diurnal rhythm of salivary cortisol levels. Anomalies in diurnal cortisol rhythms are associated with an array of health problems. Our full-time SLI participants included VRS workers ( N = 20), K–12 workers ( N = 18), and SLIs who worked in other settings ( N = 23). Non-interpreters using sign language daily at work ( N = 18) comprised a fourth group. Saliva samples were collected four times daily over 2 working days. The VRS and K–12 SLIs demonstrated lower morning peak cortisol levels and flatter diurnal cortisol slopes from morning peak to subsequent diminution. Both findings are associated with chronic stress and greater health risks. The VRS and K–12 groups’ diurnal cortisol patterns closely resembled each other, while the Other SLI group’s curve closely resembled that of the Non-Interpreter group. Implications for SLI health, education, and job redesign are discussed in the context of the demand control schema.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Nonstructural protein 1 (nsp1), a 28-kDa protein in the bovine coronavirus (BCoV) and closely related mouse hepatitis coronavirus, is the first protein cleaved from the open reading frame 1 (ORF 1) polyprotein product of genome translation. Recently, a 30-nucleotide (nt) cis-replication stem-loop VI (SLVI) has been mapped at nt 101 to 130 within a 288-nt 5′-terminal segment of the 738-nt nsp1 cistron in a BCoV defective interfering (DI) RNA. Since a similar nsp1 coding region appears in all characterized groups 1 and 2 coronavirus DI RNAs and must be translated in cis for BCoV DI RNA replication, we hypothesized that nsp1 might regulate ORF 1 expression by binding this intra-nsp1 cistronic element. Here, we (i) establish by mutation analysis that the 72-nt intracistronic SLV immediately upstream of SLVI is also a DI RNA cis-replication signal, (ii) show by gel shift and UV-cross-linking analyses that cellular proteins of ∼60 and 100 kDa, but not viral proteins, bind SLV and SLVI, (SLV-VI) and (iii) demonstrate by gel shift analysis that nsp1 purified from Escherichia coli does not bind SLV-VI but does bind three 5′ untranslated region (UTR)- and one 3′ UTR-located cis-replication SLs. Notably, nsp1 specifically binds SLIII and its flanking sequences in the 5′ UTR with ∼2.5 μM affinity. Additionally, under conditions enabling expression of nsp1 from DI RNA-encoded subgenomic mRNA, DI RNA levels were greatly reduced, but there was only a slight transient reduction in viral RNA levels. These results together indicate that nsp1 is an RNA-binding protein that may function to regulate viral genome translation or replication but not by binding SLV-VI within its own coding region.

Resumen
Amid population aging, the senior living industry has become an important sector of the service industry, especially in China. Population control throughout the past four decades has led to the quintessential “sandwich” family, wherein a young couple faces pressure to care for four elderly parents as well as their own child(ren). A lack of proper home care for older adults in China has thus accelerated social and economic demand for senior living institutions (SLIs). Although a growing number of SLIs are being built in the country, occupancy rates remain low. It is therefore crucial to explore why older adults are not accepting SLIs as a solution to their needs. This study broaches this topic by investigating the mechanism underlying the impact of family support for choosing an SLI on older adults’ attitudes toward these institutions. Specifically, a mediation model was proposed to investigate the roles of life satisfaction and older adults’ subjective knowledge of SLIs among 1,723 older Chinese adults. Multigroup path analysis was also carried out to test applicable sociodemographic differences. Findings revealed a significant suppressing effect of life satisfaction and a partial mediating effect of subjective knowledge along with group differences. Overall, this study provides meaningful implications for SLI marketing.

Resumen
Background: The mid-low speed Maglev train adopts the single-sided linear induction motors (SLIMs) as drive part, of which design and control method has become research hotspot when the velocity is elevated from 120 km/h to 160 km/h. Aim: For SLIMs applied in 160 km/h low-speed maglev train, the design scheme is introduced and then a novel variable slip frequency control method is proposed. Methods of the studies: This control method adopts low slip frequency at start-up to produce large starting traction force and high slip frequency during high velocity area to obtain great power. The influence to the normal force is also investigated. Results: With this method, the weight of the system can be effectively reduced and the lightweight design of SLIM is realized. Conclusion: The novel variable slip frequency control method meets the requirement of both high starting acceleration and enough residual acceleration for 160 km/h mid-low speed maglev train.

Resumen
Purpose Potential biases in service provision for preschool children with specific language impairment (SLI) were explored. Method In Study 1, children with SLI receiving treatment (SLI-T) and those with SLI not receiving treatment (SLI-NT) were compared on demographic characteristics and developmental abilities. Study 2 recruited children with articulation disorders receiving treatment (ARTIC-T) to determine if knowing service provision status influenced the results of Study 1. Results In Study 1, the SLI-T group was rated by teachers as having poorer executive functioning than children in the SLIT-NT group, and the SLI-T group also came from families whose mothers had more education. These 2 variables alone predicted SLI-T and SLI-NT group membership with 84% accuracy. In Study 2, the ARTIC-T group were perceived as having comparable executive functioning to the SLI-NT group and better than the SLI-T group, indicating that teachers' knowledge of service provision did not influence their ratings of children's executive functioning. Discussion Preschool children with SLI, whose mothers have higher education levels and whose teachers perceive them as having poorer executive functioning, are more likely to receive intervention. Recognizing service delivery biases is critical for improving early provision of intervention for this population.

Stick-slip friction of elastomers arises due to adhesion, high local strains, surface features, and viscous dissipation. In situ techniques connecting the real contact area to interfacial forces can reveal the contact evolution of a rough elastomer surface leading up to gross slip, as well as provide high-resolution dynamic contact areas for improving current slip models. Samples with rough surfaces were produced by the same manufacturing processes as machined seals. In this work, a machined fluoroelastomer (FKM) hemisphere was slid against glass, and the stick-slip behavior was captured optically in situ. The influence of sliding velocity on sliding behavior was studied over a range of speeds from 1 µm/s to 100 µm/s. The real contact area was measured from image sequences thresholded using Otsu’s method. The motion of the pinned region was delineated with a machine learning scheme. The first result is that, within the macroscale sticking, or pinned phase, local pinned and partial slip regions were observed and modeled as a combined contact with contributions to friction by both regions. As a second result, we identified a critical velocity below which the stick-slip motion converted from high frequency with low amplitude to low frequency with high amplitude. This study on the sliding behavior of a viscoelastic machined elastomer demonstrates a multi-technique approach which reveals precise changes in contact area before and during pinning and slip.

Resumen
Abstract Recently, extensive studies investigating executive functions in children with specific language impairment (SLI) have been performed. In the present study, we compared the level of executive functions (i.e., inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility) and literacy skills between 53 healthy children and 53 children with SLIs between the ages of 3 and 11 years. The groups were matched by age, gender and parental education level. Executive functions were assessed using the Children Card Sort, and the Literacy Assessment Battery was applied to measure literacy skills. The patients with SLI displayed a significantly lower level of cognitive flexibility than that of the healthy children. No significant differences were observed between the groups in inhibitory control and the majority of literacy skills. The results confirm the hypothesis that patients with SLI experience difficulties in cognitive flexibility.

Resumen
This work investigates the transient slip flow of viscoelastic fluids in a slit micro-channel under the combined influences of electro-osmotic and pressure gradient forcings. We adopt the generalized second-grade fluid model with fractional derivative as the constitutive equation and the Navier linear slip model as the boundary conditions. The analytical solution for velocity distribution of the electro-osmotic flow is determined by employing the Debye–Hückel approximation and the integral transform methods. The corresponding expressions of classical Newtonian and second-grade fluids are obtained as the limiting cases of our general results. These solutions are presented as a sum of steady-state and transient parts. The combined effects of slip boundary conditions, fluid rheology, electro-osmotic, and pressure gradient forcings on the fluid velocity distribution are also discussed graphically in terms of the pertinent dimensionless parameters. By comparison with the two cases corresponding to the Newtonian fluid and the classical second-grade fluid, it is found that the fractional derivative parameter β has a significant effect on the fluid velocity distribution and the time when the fluid flow reaches the steady state. Additionally, the slip velocity at the wall increases in a noticeable manner the flow rate in an electro-osmotic flow.

Resumen
(AT II, ET-1, NO, ADMA, SDMA, eNOS, iNOS, NT-proСNP, NT-proBNP) у пациентов с эссенциальной артериальной гипертензией (ЭАГ) II стадии. LIF. Aim. To study levels of serum LIF and sLIF-R and their correlations with hemodynamic parameters (heart rate, systolic BP, diastolic BP, pulse pressure, central BP, mean BP, stroke volume, total peripheral resistance, and pulse wave velocity) and vasoactive substances (AT II, ET-1, NO, ADMA, SDMA, eNOS, iNOS, NT-proСNP, and NT-proBNP) in patients with stage II essential arterial hypertension (EAH). Methods. Serum levels of LIF and sLIF-R/gp190 were measured using ELISA in 180 patients with stage II ЕAН. Results: Patients with EAH II (with or without antihypertensive therapy) had higher serum levels of LIF (7.54 (2.8) pg/ml and 7.5 (2.1) pg/ml, respectively) compared to healthy individuals (1.25 (0.5) pg/ml), р<0.001. Patients not receiving a therapy had higher serum levels of sLIF-R (5800 (1470 pg/ml) than patients receiving antihypertensive drugs (4100 (1380) pg/ml, р<0.001) and healthy individual (3800 (1100) pg/ml, р<0.001). In patients with EAH, sLIF-R levels higher than 4800 pg/ml correlated with increases in iNOS, NT-proBNP, ADMA, and SDMA (r = 0.5-0.8, р<0.05-0.001) and decreases in eNOS (r = -0.56-0.86, р<0.05-0.001), which corresponded to disease progression. LIF did not show any significant correlations with these vasoactive substances, which suggested that sLIF-R exerted its own pathogenetic effects besides antagonizing LIF. Generally, this trend was typical for patients with EAH (II stage) without antihypertensive therapy.

Resumen
A simple micromechanical model is developed to predict the onset of tear propagation at slit-like damage sites (i.e., a series of consecutive aligned yarn breaks) in biaxially stressed plain weave fabrics under increasing loading. A crucial aspect of the model is the treatment of the frictional slip of yarns near the damage site. Although the actual configuration of slipping regions is complex, the onset of tear propagation in large slits (i.e., more than, say, 35 breaks) is dominated by slip occurring on the first few intact yarns adjacent to the breaks. The assumptions in the mathematical model were motivated by both experimental observations and calculations for key configurations. Analytical results obtained for this simple model exhibit good agreement with experimental results, which are presented for a variety of fabrics with initial slits of 35 and 45 breaks.

Resumen
Background Radiographic diagnosis of scapholunate ligament injury (SLI) in the setting of distal radius fractures (DRFs) is challenging. It remains unclear to what extent radiographic diagnosis of SLI by a radiologist influences surgical decision-making regarding treatment of SLI. Purpose We aimed to (1) identify the number of times that concerns for the possibility of concurrent SLI in the setting of a DRF had been raised by the radiologists, (2) identify how often the radiologist's diagnosis was confirmed by the treating surgeon, and (3) how many of the patients with a radiographic concern for SLI by the radiologist received operative treatment for the SLI. Patients and Methods Based on Current Procedural Terminology codes, we identified 2,923 patients that were operatively treated for their DRF in 1 of 3 participating institutions in an urban city in the United States. We reviewed the medical charts of 654 patients who had a mention of scapholunate ligament (SL) distance in their radiography, surgery, or clinical notes. We then measured the SL distance and recorded patient, diagnosis, and treatment characteristics of all these patients. Results A total of 200 out of 2,923 patients (6.8%) received a radiological diagnosis of SLI. In seven of these patients (3.5%), the surgeon confirmed the diagnosis of the radiologist. Four patients (2%) had operative repair of their SLI. Conclusion Radiologists demonstrate a low threshold to identify SLI in the setting of DRFs, while the number of SLIs identified by the treating surgeon is a remarkably smaller number. Level of Evidence Level II, prognostic study.

Resumen
Abstract Observations of glacier slip over till beds, across a range of spatial and temporal scales, show abundant seismicity ranging from Mw∼−2 microearthquakes and tremor (submeter asperities and millisecond duration) to Mw∼7 slow-slip events (∼50 km rupture lengths and ∼30 min durations). A complete understanding of the mechanisms capable of producing seismic signals in these environments represents a strong constraint on bed conditions. In particular, there is a lack of experimental confirmation of velocity-weakening behavior of ice slipping on till, where friction decreases with increasing velocity—a necessity for nucleating seismic slip. To measure the frictional strength and stability of ice sliding against till, we performed a series of double-direct-shear experiments at controlled temperatures slightly above and below the ice melting point. Our results confirm velocity-strengthening ice–till slip at melting temperatures, as has been found in the few previous studies. We provide best-fit rate-and-state friction parameters and their standard deviations from averaging 13 experiments at equivalent conditions. We find evidence of similar velocity-strengthening behavior with 50% by volume debris-laden ice slid against till under the same conditions. In contrast, velocity-weakening and linear time-dependent healing of ice–till slip is present at temperatures slightly below the melting point, providing an experimentally supported mechanism for subglacial seismicity on soft-beds. The stability parameter (a−b) decreases with slip velocity, and evolution occurs over large (mm scale) displacements, suggesting that shear heating and melt buildup is responsible for the weakening. These measurements provide insight into subglacial stiffness in which seismicity of this type might be expected. We discuss glaciological circumstances pointing to potential field targets in which to test this frozen seismic asperity hypothesis.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Higher-order cis-acting RNA replication structures have been identified in the 3′- and 5′-terminal untranslated regions (UTRs) of a bovine coronavirus (BCoV) defective interfering (DI) RNA. The UTRs are identical to those in the viral genome, since the 2.2-kb DI RNA is composed of only the two ends of the genome fused between an internal site within the 738-nucleotide (nt) 5′-most coding region (the nsp1, or p28, coding region) and a site just 4 nt upstream of the 3′-most open reading frame (ORF) (the N gene). The joined ends of the viral genome in the DI RNA create a single continuous 1,635-nt ORF, 288 nt of which come from the 738-nt nsp1 coding region. Here, we have analyzed features of the 5′-terminal 288-nt portion of the nsp1 coding region within the continuous ORF that are required for DI RNA replication. We observed that (i) the 5′-terminal 186 nt of the nsp1 coding region are necessary and sufficient for DI RNA replication, (ii) two Mfold-predicted stem-loops within the 186-nt sequence, named SLV (nt 239 to 310) and SLVI (nt 311 to 340), are supported by RNase structure probing and by nucleotide covariation among closely related group 2 coronaviruses, and (iii) SLVI is a required higher-order structure for DI RNA replication based on mutation analyses. The function of SLV has not been evaluated. We conclude that SLVI within the BCoV nsp1 coding region is a higher-order cis-replication element for DI RNA and postulate that it functions similarly in the viral genome.

Resumen
In this paper, the chip morphologies and sizes of hardened PM steel S790 (68 HRC) using four types coated end mills (TiAlN TiCrAlN TiSiN and TiAlSiN) under different cutting parameters in dry milling condition were studied. During the process of high speed milling hardened steel S790, the chip morphologies change from continuous strip to sawtooth with the increase of cutting speeds. When cutting speed reaches 100 m/min, obvious shear slip occoured on the top surface of the chips, which are formed by multilayer metal unit piled by shear slip plane segmentation. The bottom of the chips, which squeeze and slid with rake face of end mills, show shiny smooth surface. TiAlSiN and TiSiN coatings are more suitable for high speed milling than TiAlN and TiCrAlN coatings. With the increase of cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and axial cutting depth, the chips morphology of S790 change from continuous strips to trapezoidal and triangle sawtooth, and the chips trend easy separation.

Resumen
Reflex effects of static pressure lung inflation (SLI) on tracheomotor tone (TT) were studied during apnea produced by the Hering-Breuer expiratory-facilitatory reflex. Anesthetized dogs were placed on cardiopulmonary bypass, and diaphragm electromyogram was used as an indicator of central nervous system inspiratory output. Tracheomotor tone (TT) was reflexly produced by chemoreceptor stimulation. The volume and frequency of the ventilator [phasic lung inflation (PLI)] were adjusted to produce nearly a maximum reflex decrease in TT. The increase in TT observed while PLI was withheld (0 mmHg tracheal pressure) for 1–2 min was used as the control response. SLIs were interspersed among sets of PLIs. Although SLI produced apnea, TT returned toward the control TT recorded during 0 mmHg tracheal pressure. TT observed during apnea was reflexly sensitive to further increases in SLI and to changes in chemoreceptor stimulation, which also affected the time course of the tracheomotor responses. These results suggest that the reflex decrease in TT produced by SLI and the Hering-Breuer expiratory-facilitatory reflex are mediated by different central mechanisms but may be from the same or different pulmonary receptors.

Resumen
Based on data from the Health and Safety Executive, it can be concluded that as many as 90% of accidents are caused by human error. Coal mining is an industry that has a high risk of work accidents. If the mining process is not following procedures, then lives will be at stake. Human error probability assessment needs to be done because most accidents that occur in coal mining are caused by human error. HRA (Human Reliability Analysis) is part of the risk assessment process which aims to calculate the HEP value. HRA has been used in many studies to assess the risks involved in large, complex, and dangerous systems. The Success Likelihood Index Method (SLIM) is a method of analysis for human reliability. Prevention and control of human error need to be done at every stage of work. SLIM can analyze HEP at each stage of the work. SLIM aims to obtain a HEP value. To get the HEP value, we must first find the SLI (Success Likelihood Index) value. Finding the SLI value comes from a weighting questionnaire and PSF (Performance Shaping Factor) assessment that has been filled in by an expert judgment. After the HEP value is obtained, it can be seen which jobs fall into the safe risk level and which the risk cannot be accepted. Furthermore, risk reduction is carried out by making a task analysis of jobs that have a high hazard risk. Based on the research results, it can be seen the factors that cause a human error, namely unsafe conditions, unsafe actions, personal factors, and job factors. While the task that has the highest HEP value is on task 4, which is equal to 0,006932. The task with the smallest HEP value is task 1, amounting to 0,006478.

Resumen
An adaptive slid mode controller was established for improving the handling stability of motorized electric vehicle (MEV). First and foremost, the structure and advantages of electric vehicle driven by in-wheel motors will be provided. Then, an ideal cornering model of vehicles will be brought and analyzed, after which a method to estimate side-slip angle was also proposed and three typical sensors were used in the theory. Besides, an idea for the recognition of road adhesion coefficient was derived based on MEV platform, which will be helpful for better control performances. Finally, the scheme of control method was given and some typical tests for observing handling properties were implemented based on Simulink and Carsim software. With the outcomes from the experiments, which vividly showed the merits of the controller, one can come to a conclusion that MEV that equips with the adaptive slid mode controller always enjoys better handling performances than the one without control. Furthermore, the controller researched is friendly to the real-time working conditions, which will hold practical values in the future.

Resumen
The main objective of the convective incompressible fluid flow placed in a magnetic field, with vertical motion through an isothermally heated porous channel. The Super-hydrophobic the slip was applied on one wall along with temperature jump, while there is no slip on another wall. The analytical results are discussed qualitatively for the parameters which were on the mathematical formulation on the basis of the model equations designed for the linear momentum and energy balance. Decreasing the value of the slip parameter is noticed due to decreasing in temperature. The effects of heat source and porous medium on the micro channel flow is analysized in detail. Coparesion of current results is made with the earlier work. The effect of Dray parameter is to increase the fluid velocity in the channel.
