Resumen
In deep space exploration, spacecrafts need to deliver large volume of time-insensitive scientific data to deep space station. However, power supply of spacecrafts is only from the solar energy and battery. That is to say, these spacecrafts are energy-limited. In order to reduce energy consumption, prolong the life of spacecrafts and send more data, the transmission protocol must be efficient and low-energy-waste. To achieve the aim, this paper proposes a network-coding-based mutually cooperative transmission protocol (NMCTP). Compared with the known protocols, i.e., COPE protocol and repeatin

The article discusses an approach to organizing the interaction of nodes of spacecraft onboard data transmission networks based on wireless communication technologies. The main quality indicators and requirements for traffic control in on-board networks are formulated taking into account the peculiarities of the wireless network nodes interaction. The results of modeling various algorithms of transmission medium access control for one of the common protocols for organizing wireless networks (IEEE 802.15.4) are presented..

Computer networking is a reliable and efficient means for communications between disparate and distributed components in complex dynamical processes like advanced aircraft, spacecraft, and autonomous manufacturing plants. The role of Integrated Communication and Control Systems (ICCS) is to coordinate and perform interrelated functions, ranging from real-time multi-loop control to information display and routine maintenance support. In ICCS, a feedback control loop is closed via the common communication channel which multiplexes digital data from the sensor to the controller and from the contr

SpaceFibre is an upcoming on-board high-speed communication protocol for space applications. It has been developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency to answer the growing data-rate requirement of satellite payloads such as Synthetic Aperture Radars or hyper-spectral imagers. SpaceFibre offers a complete set of features (i.e., Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery, and Quality of Service) that guarantees robust communication at the price of higher complexity. This article proposes an innovative modified implementation of the SpaceFibre standard: R-SpaceFibre. It has been designe

PnPSat is going to be operating in Low Earth Orbit, so it must be quickly adjusted to meet different requirements and need standardized components. In terms of time and budget, integration is a significant time-consuming component of spacecraft development. Bit Error Rate (BER) is a principle measure of data transmission link performance. BER tester (BERT) consists of a Pattern Generator and an Analyzer that can be set to the same pattern. The payload data transmitted from the spacecraft consists of one, two or three channels per carrier based on the modulation scheme. The traditional equipments can do BER analysis for only one channel at a time. In order to support multichannel BER analysis, a Personal Computer (PC) based system is designed and implemented in Altera Stratix II (EP2S130F1508C5N) FPGA.
