Resumen
This study examined farmers' understanding toward the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) policy in East Java, Indonesia. It focused on 16 question items, namely 1) WRS existence, 2) WRS definition, 3) WRS rules, 4) WRS function, 5) WRS to prevent risks, 6) WRS as a marketing solution, 7) types of commodities stored in warehouse, 8) warehouse receipt as collateral, 9) security of the stored goods, 10) insurance for the stored goods, 11) WRS to solve issue related to capital, 12) WRS facilities, 13) WRS services, 14) time allotment to publish warehouse receipt, 15) storage procedures, 16) institution/ individual associated to WRS. The study was conducted in six districts, Sampang, Probolinggo, Situbondo, Madiun, Nganjuk, Tuban. The data analysis was Likert scale. Item 14 had the highest result with total score of 116 (64.4%) It meant the respondents (farmers) understood they had to wait 1 or 2 days between storage process and publishing the receipt. Item 16 had the lowest result with total score of 84 (46.7%) meaning the respondents quite understood that warehouse manager, financial institution (bank) and quality control staffs were people involved in the management of WRS. Having obtained the data from farmers that did not use WRS it was found that item 7 had the highest score (177 or 59%). It implied that the respondents quite understood that grain, corn and rice were the types of commodities that they could store in the warehouse. However, most of the respondents were not aware that they could store other commodities such as coffee, chocolate, and salt in the warehouse.

Resumen
Abstract. CityGML is an international standard issued by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) for representing and exchanging Semantic 3D City Models. Due to their large scale and deeply nested structures, the management and visualization of CityGML based models require sophisticated solutions such as the 3D City Database (3DCityDB). The research work presented in this article proposes a high level architecture for extending the 3D City Database to store and manage dynamic properties encoded within a new Application Domain Extension (ADE) of CityGML called Dynamizer ADE. The implementation employs the 3DCityDB 4.2 ADE Plugin Manager, which provides an automatic way for dynamically extending the 3DCityDB to support the storage and management of CityGML models with ADEs. The paper introduces a relational database model for storing and managing the Dynamizer ADE within the 3DCityDB. Further, the research work includes the extension of the 3DCityDB Importer/Exporter in order to import and export CityGML documents including Dynamizer ADE data. 3DCityDB already comes with a Web Feature Service (WFS) interface allowing CityGML features to be requested in standardized ways. The proposed framework enables CityGML Viewers to access static data (using OGC WFS interface) and dynamic data (using the OGC SWE interfaces) in an integrated fashion.

Resumen
Information Technology is a part of strategic part for enterprise strategic planning. Information Technology can help the enterprise to determine its strategic planning. Through data from the past, thecompany can learn something and help to decide some strategic issue. A Multistore Company in Yogyakarta has more than five stores. The problem raises to generate real-time sales reporting. Sales manager and owner do not have access to real-time sales condition. To ease management analyzing and reporting sales condition, dimension model of the sales data needs to be built. This dimension model will help to make executive report from some dimensions mentioned in data warehouse. Sales data will pass through some processes: Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) in order to prepare the data warehouse. This process is preprocessing data before dimensional model is built. In this research multi-dimensional modelling by taking data from 3 stores ranging from 1 February 2014 to 31 January 2015. By implementing sales executive dashboard, it helps to monitor and analyze sales condition. Dashboard shows graphic which ease user, especially sales manager and owner to learn current and updated sales condition based on dimensions: time, outlet / store, and product. Report gives detail information and multidimensionalhelps to analyze data from different perspective. Index Terms—Dashboard, Multi Dimentional Model, ETL, Executive Reporting REFERENCES[1] W. Resumen
Convenience stores in Taiwan have integrated e-commerce systems into their logistics systems to develop a new retail delivery model. Store-to-store delivery service is the one of the retail delivery systems served by FamilyMart.com and 7-11.com. The delivery system is complicated and risky. This paper are explores the structure of logistic for store-to-store delivery service for electronic commerce and develops a hierarchical framework and evaluation model to evaluate the logistics vulnerability of two store-to-store delivery service providers in Taiwan. With the results of the most vulnerable parts in store-to-store delivery system, managers could add resources and formulate strategies to strengthen them and reduce the frequency of the events that have higher failure probabilities.

Resumen
The landscape of convenient store businesses or minimarkets now have changed. Location base strategy has not been sufficient any longer now. Psychographic and Demographic approaches tend to share a newly built power. Two main variables that have been managed concern at retail level are the store image and the store atmosphere. While the store image dimensions that can be put into considerations are the items offered, services committed, who and the amount of customers, physical facilities, promotion and convenience, store atmosphere, especially the involvement of affections through built emotions status in store which possibly uncautioned wholly by the customers when doing shopping. Since officially opened, the 7-Eleven had offered unique facilities. Instead of providing instant foods and beverages for 24 hours, the 7-Eleven also provides convenient corners and tables to eat and drink and provides chatting facilities for customers who need it. These make other modern retailers following the concept: opened for 24 hours and providing chatting facilities for young people.

Resumen
Background Consumer food environments are increasingly being recognized as influential determinants of food purchasing and subsequent intake and health. We developed a tool to enable efficient, but relatively comprehensive, appraisal of the in-store food environment. The Store Scout mobile app facilitates the evaluation of product (availability and range), placement (visibility, accessibility, proximity to high-traffic areas, and location relative to other products), price (price promotion), and promotion (displays and advertising) across 7 categories of food products, with appraisal given immediately as scores (0-100, where a higher score is more in line with best practice). Primary end users are public health nutritionists and nutritionists employed by store organizations; however, store managers and staff are also potential end users. Objective This study aims to evaluate the reliability (interrater reliability and internal consistency), utility (distribution of scores), and construct validity (score by store type) of measurements using the Store Scout mobile app. Methods The Store Scout mobile app was used independently by 2 surveyors to evaluate the store environment in 54 stores: 34 metropolitan stores (9 small and 11 large supermarkets, 10 convenience stores, and 4 petrol stations) in Brisbane, Australia, and 20 remote stores (19 small supermarkets and 1 petrol station) in Indigenous Australian communities in Northern Australia. The agreement between surveyors in the overall and category scores was evaluated using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs). Interrater reliability of measurement items was assessed using percentage agreement and the Gwet agreement coefficient (AC). Internal consistency was assessed by comparing the responses of items measuring similar aspects of the store environment. We examined the distribution of score values using boxplots and differences by store type using the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results The median difference in the overall score between surveyors was 4.4 (range 0.0-11.1), with an ICC of 0.954 (95% CI 0.914-0.975). Most measurement items had very good (n=74/196, 37.8%) or good (n=81/196, 41.3%) interrater reliability using the Gwet AC. A minimal inconsistency of measurement was found. Overall scores ranged from 19.2 to 81.6. There was a significant difference in score by store type (P<.001). Large Brisbane supermarkets scored highest (median 77.4, range 53.2-81.6), whereas small Brisbane supermarkets (median 63.9, range 41.0-71.3) and small remote supermarkets (median 63.8, range 56.5-74.9) scored significantly higher than Brisbane petrol stations (median 33.1, range 19.2-37.8) and convenience stores (median 39.0, range 22.4-63.8). Conclusions These findings suggest good reliability and internal consistency of food environment measurements using the Store Scout mobile app. We identified specific aspects that can be improved to further increase the reliability of this tool. We found a good distribution of score values and evidence that scoring could capture differences by store type in line with previous evidence, which gives an indication of construct validity. The Store Scout mobile app shows promise in its capability to measure and track the health-enabling characteristics of store environments.

Resumen
BACKGROUND: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy considers a golden surgery for gallbladder removal nowadays, and it carries some complications like biliary injuries, which can manage successfully by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. AIM: To estimate the role of endoscopic management of bile duct injury (BDI) following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. PATIENT AND METHODS: A prospective study conducted at Al-Sader Medical City, Najaf City, Iraq, during the period between September 2018 and December 2020, included 44 patients complicated by the biliary injury resulting in a persistent biliary leak and/or jaundice after laparoscopic cholecystectomy and evaluated by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). RESULTS: Findings revealed that 25% of cases had complete BDI, only one managed by plastic stent placement, the other 10 referred for open surgical constructions, 61% had partial injury associated with the biliary leak, all managed by sphincterotomy and plastic stent placement through ERCP, almost 7% had a partial clipping of bile duct all managed with sphincterotomy, balloon dilatation/stone extraction, and plastic stent placement, 5% had slipped clips of cystic duct stump, are managed with sphincterotomy and plastic stent placement. Moreover, only one patient, 2%, had distal common bile duct stone with bile leak, managed by sphincterotomy and stone extraction. CONCLUSIONS: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a gold standard therapeutic option for symptomatic cholecystolithiasis, is associated with an increased risk of biliary injury due to many factors. ERCP is a safe means of diagnosing the cause of bile leakage after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It also offers definitive treatment in most cases by endoscopic sphincterotomy and plastic stent placement.

Resumen
Purpose Despite the pressure on work-family polices arising from the increase in nonstandard working times in various sectors, only a few studies have addressed management practices in 24/7 workplaces. This paper aims to investigate the challenges Finnish managers face in meeting the various tensions stemming from nonstandard working hours and services operating 24/7. Two typical 24/7 work contexts are focused: the hospitality and retail industries and flexibly scheduled early childhood education and care (ECEC) services. The emphasis is on management practices relating to the planning of work shifts and children’s care schedules. Design/methodology/approach Study 1 comprises focus group interviews with middle managers (N = 20) working in hotels, stores and service stations with restaurants and shopping facilities. Study 2 uses survey data on directors (N = 20) of centers offering flexibly scheduled ECEC services. Findings The results showed that management in 24/7 workplaces raises issues of fairness and social responsibility. Managers in both sectors were faced with constantly varying service demands, leading further to changes and unpredictability in employee working times. Alongside organizational goals, the business managers reported needing to consider employee needs and the ECEC service directors the well-being of parents and children. They also reported seeking the most cost-effective way to deliver services at a time of budget cuts. Research limitations/implications The relatively small sample sizes and non-representative nature of the data restrict the generalizability of the results. Practical implications Service organizations need to design a 24/7 strategy that includes organizational communication and guidelines on fair work scheduling. Key issues in management are finding ways to enhance predictability within unpredictability, discussing the most common ethical problems and developing the skills needed to manage diversity. These are elements that should be included in management training. Originality/value The study contributes to the literature by focusing on seldom studied issues and innovately approached by comparing two work sectors.

Resumen
Background Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) represent a diverse group of 20 communicable diseases that occur in tropical and subtropical areas in 149 countries, affecting over 1 billion people and costing developing economies billions of dollars every year. Within these diseases, those that present lesions on the skin surface are classified as skin NTDs (sNTDs). Mobile health interventions are currently being used worldwide to manage skin diseases and can be a good strategy in the epidemiological and clinical management of sNTDs. Objective We aimed to analyze existing evidence about mobile health interventions to control and manage sNTDs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and make recommendations for what should be considered in future interventions. Methods A systematic review was conducted of the MEDLINE, Embase, and Scopus databases over 10 years up to April 30, 2020. All types of clinical studies were considered. Data were synthesized into evidence tables. Apps were selected through a comprehensive systematic search in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store conducted between March 20 and April 15, 2020. Results From 133 potentially relevant publications, 13 studies met our criteria (9.8%). These analyzed eight different interventions (three SMS text messaging interventions and five app interventions). Six of the 13 (46%) studies were community-based cross-sectional studies intended to epidemiologically map a specific disease, mainly lymphatic filariasis, but also cutaneous leishmaniasis, leprosy, and NTDs, as well as sNTDs in general. Most of the studies were considered to have a high (5/13, 39%) or moderate (4/13, 31%) risk of bias. Fifteen apps were identified in the Google Play Store, of which three were also in the Apple App Store. Most of the apps (11/15, 73%) were targeted at health care professionals, with only four targeted at patients. The apps focused on scabies (3/15, 20%), lymphatic filariasis (3/15, 20%), cutaneous leishmaniasis (1/15, 7%), leprosy (1/15, 7%), yaws and Buruli ulcer (1/15, 7%), tropical diseases including more than one sNTDs (3/15, 20%), and NTDs including sNTDs (2/15, 13%). Only 1 (7%) app focused on the clinical management of sNTDs. Conclusions All mobile health interventions that were identified face technological, legal, final user, and organizational issues. There was a remarkable heterogeneity among studies, and the majority had methodological limitations that leave considerable room for improvement. Based on existing evidence, eight recommendations have been made for future interventions.

Resumen
Objective- Based on Sheth's (1983) integrative theory of patronage preference as the central theoretical framework, this paper examines religious influences on grocery shoppers' behavioural intentions in Mauritius. Methodology/Technique- Using stratified random sampling method a 5 point-Likert scale questionnaire was administered. Data from the random sample of 409 grocery shoppers was obtained by a computer aided telephone interview. The sample consisted of 202 Hindus, 71 Muslims and 136 Catholics represent the religious proportion of the Mauritian population. Findings- Results indicate that religious commitment significantly influences store loyalty, and complaint intentions, but have no significant impact on price sensitivity. Religious affiliation was found to have an impact on complaint intentions only. Understanding how to attract more loyal customers should be an underlying strategy for store managers rather than focusing on short-term profits. Novelty- Future research should consider how religious commitment mediates self-congruity, trust, commitment and satisfaction and their influence on behavioural intentions. This research is limited as it only considers the behavioural intentions of grocery shoppers in Mauritius. These findings address the gap in the religion domain and shed light on the value of religiosity wherein the market is highly religious as a potential marketing segmentation tool when formulating marketing tactics and implementing marketing strategies. Type of Paper- Empirical Keywords- Complaint, Price, Store Loyalty, Religious Affiliation, Religious Commitment.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to see how children aged 7–11 years can become the actors of tomorrow’s hypermarket experience by providing a review of past research on children as retail consumers, with a specific reference to their customer experience. Design/methodology/approach The literature review will be organised by presenting a “child hypermarket customer experience” model. Finally, a conceptual and methodological critique of past research will be presented followed by the revised model and conclusions. Findings The literature review finds six independent variables presented in the model: customer satisfaction, in-store conflicts, buying intention, purchase basket value, loyalty and average time spent in store measure a positive hypermarket shopping experience for children. There are then six types of mediators presented in the updated model: type of product, product offering, pocket money amount, environment, technology (games, tablets) and experiential marketing that mediate the impact of these independent variables on children as the actors of tomorrow’s hypermarket experience. Research limitations/implications This paper is conceptual in nature. Future research should empirically validate the conceptual model developed in the paper for children 7–11 years of age. Practical implications The conceptual discussion shows that hypermarket managers can use technology such as games and tablets not only to reduce the conflicts between parents and children in hypermarkets but also positively impact on the average time spent in the store. Further, the discussion shows that hypermarket managers can offer children the experience they expect with the use of specific experiential stimuli adapted to children in “children’s aisles” such as toys, children’s clothing, children’s hi-tech and children’s books. They can also theme the experience for children using memorabilia and the engagement of senses. Managerial research should empirically validate this for children 7–11 years of age. Originality/value This is the first study that conceptually creates a model of children as the actors of tomorrow’s hypermarket experience. This is something that empirically researched will enhance the understanding of young consumers’ behaviour in the retail process in this advanced age of retailing.

Resumen
Congenital chylothorax (CC) is one of the most common causes of pleural effusions in neonates. Associated ipsilateral pulmonary aplasia in CC results in neonatal respiratory distress. Here, we report 2 cases of CC who were managed in the Teaching Hospital Karapitiya, Sri Lanka, between 2017 and 2019. Both babies were males who presented with respiratory distress within a few hours of birth. Their antenatal ultrasound scans failed to detect CC. Chest radiographs showed left-sided pleural effusions. Pleural fluid was milky yellowish suggestive of chylothorax, and the analysis revealed elevated triglycerides, high lymphocyte counts, and low cholesterol levels compatible with CC. They were managed in the neonatal intensive care unit and kept nil by mouth for initial 48 hours. Intravenous octeotride infusion was started on day one and was continued for 7 and 10 days, respectively. The maximum dose of octeotride was 2 μg/kg/hour. Both babies needed intercostal tube placement for 5 and 6 days, respectively. None of them required invasive ventilation. They were started on a medium-chain fatty acid formula, which was continued for about one week. Both babies were commenced on breast milk by day 7 of life and continued with exclusive breastfeeding. Within two weeks, they were discharged home and followed up in the paediatric respiratory clinic for another year. None of them was found to have long-term respiratory complications during the follow-up.

Resumen
Introduction: Hydronephrosis is a marker of stone-related ureteral obstruction. Our objective was to assess the diagnostic and prognostic value of hydronephrosis in ED patients with renal colic. Methods: We used an administrative database to identify all renal colic patients seen in Calgary’s four EDs in 2014. Research assistants reviewed imaging reports to identify proven ureteral stones, and to document hydronephrosis and stone size. Surgical interventions, ED and hospital visits within 60-days were collated from all regional hospitals. The primary outcome was sensitivity and specificity of hydronephrosis (moderate or severe) for detecting stones >5mm. We also assessed the association of hydronephrosis with index admission-intervention, and with outcomes at 7 and 60 days. Results: In 2014, 1828 patients had a confirmed ureteral stone plus assessment of hydronephrosis and stone size (1714 CT, 114 US). Hydronephrosis was absent, mild, moderate or severe in 15%, 47%, 34% and 4% of patients respectively. Median stone size was 4.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 7.0mm for patients in these categories. Mild, moderate and severe hydronephrosis were highly associated with admission (OR=2.0, 4.6, 9.8; p<0.001) and index visit surgical intervention (OR=2.1, 3.7, 6.0; p<0.001). The presence of moderate-severe hydronephrosis was 54.7% sensitive and 65.4% specific for stones > 5mm, with positive and negative predictive values of 51% and 74.2%. Of 1828 patients, 748 had an index visit surgical procedure and 1080 were discharged with medical management. In the latter group, hydronephrosis was absent, mild, moderate or severe in 20%, 50%, 27% and 3%. Corresponding median (IQR) stone size was 3.0, 4.0, 4.0 and 5.0mm. Of 1080 medically managed patients, 19% and 25% had an unscheduled ED revisit by 14 and 60 days, 9% and 10% were hospitalized by 7 and 60 days, and 13% had a rescue procedure within 60 days. In the medically managed group, degree of hydronephrosis had no statistical association with any outcomes at 7 or 60 days. Conclusion: Hydronephrosis has poor sensitivity, specificity and predictive value for stones >5mm. Degree of hydronephrosis is highly associated with MD decisions for admission and intervention, but not associated with patient outcomes in the absence of these decisions. Despite poor diagnostic and prognostic performance, hydronephrosis is likely guiding critical early management decisions.

Resumen
The storm runoff model in mountain city, based on hydrology, hydraulics and the watershed spatial data is targeted at the features of large slope of land surface and fast speed of runoff-contribution & flow-concentration in mountain city, is of great significance to achieve the goal of making an analog experiment on the processing of urban storm runoff, to locate the inland inundation spot and predict the time of the water withdrawal as well as manage and utilize the water volume and quality of the storm runoff. As a result, we’ve developed a distributed storm runoff model in small watershed in the mountain city on the basis of GIS platform. This model has been applied for analyzing the storm runoff (twice) in Panxi River Valley in North New Zone of Chongqing. The results showed that the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient, Ens is 0.56; and the relative error is 11.8%, compared the simulated result with the actual measurements 2010/6/7; the Ens is 0.76,; and the relative error is 8.82%, compared the simulated result with the actual measurements 2010/7/4, it showed that the simulated result is of high precision with the model. According to the parameter sensitivity analysis, the most sensitive parameters of the storm runoff model are the width of subcatchment, slope and impermeable area rate.

Resumen
PurposeLuxury companies have expanded globally, but little attention is given to the difficulties associated with expansion to culturally different countries, especially when focusing on training salespeople in rapport-building behaviors. To address this discussion, we answer these research questions: (1) Does the luxury fashion brand country of origin affect the rapport-building strategies of salespeople?; (2) How do luxury fashion employees classify customers from collectivistic cultures with emerging economies, such as that in Brazil?; and (3) What are the rapport-building strategies used by these salespeople for each of these luxury fashion customer segments?Design/methodology/approachThe authors conducted in-depth interviews with salespeople, managers and team supervisors from four global luxury retailers from Britain, France and Italy that operate in Brazil. In total, the authors interviewed 20 employees with an average of greater than 7 years of experience in luxury sales. The authors based their analysis on a theoretically generated coding guide and content analysis theories.FindingsWhen expanding to culturally different countries, retail companies should adopt glocal strategies, especially when luxury is involved and when customers demand exclusive attention from companies. Additionally, the authors suggest that the effectiveness of rapport building strategies is culturally dependent and should be adapted to the microlevel, especially for continental countries that are culturally diverse.Research limitations/implicationsThis is employee-view research, with no inputs from customers or corporate managers. Luxury fashion brand stores did not grant permission for official research within their employees nor the observation of their customers during in-store interactions. Researchers interviewed employees as individual professionals, and their identities will remain anonymous.Practical implicationsWhen expanding to culturally different countries, luxury retailers should give special attention to the adaption of sales strategies, training and sales guidelines.Originality/valueThis study focuses on customer-employee rapport from the company's perspective.

Resumen
Background Pharmacotherapy remains one of the major interventional strategies in medicine. However, patients from all age groups and conditions face challenges when taking medications, such as integrating them into the daily routine, understanding their effects and side effects, and monitoring outcomes. In this context, a reliable medication management tool adaptable to the patient’s needs becomes critical. As most people have a mobile phone, mobile apps offer a platform for such a personalized support tool available on the go. Objective This study aimed to provide an overview of available mobile apps, focusing on those that help patients understand and take their medications. We reviewed the existing apps and provided suggestions for future development based on the concept understand and manage, instead of the conventional adhere to medication. This concept aims to engage and empower patients to be in charge of their health, as well as see medication as part of a broader clinical approach, working simultaneously with other types of interventions or lifestyle changes, to achieve optimal outcomes. Methods We performed a Web search in the iOS Apple App Store and Android Google Play Store, using 4 search terms: medication management, pill reminder, medication health monitor, and medication helper. We extracted information from the app store descriptions for each eligible app and categorized into the following characteristics: features, author affiliation, specialty, user interface, cost, and user rating. In addition, we conducted Google searches to obtain more information about the author affiliation. Results A total of 328 apps (175 Android and 153 iOS) were categorized. The majority of the apps were developed by the software industry (73%, 11/15), a minority of them were codeveloped by health care professionals (15%, 3/20) or academia (2.1%; 7/328). The most prevalent specialty was diabetes (23 apps). Only 7 apps focused on mental health, but their content was highly comprehensive in terms of features and had the highest prevalence of the education component. The most prevalent features were reminder, symptom tracker, and ability to share data with a family member or doctor. In addition, we highlighted the features considered innovative and listed practical suggestions for future development and innovations. Conclusions We identified detailed characteristics of the existing apps, with the aim of informing future app development. Ultimately, the goal was to provide users with effective mobile health solutions, which can be expected to improve their engagement in the treatment process and long-term well-being. This study also highlighted the need for improved standards for reporting on app stores. Furthermore, it underlined the need for a platform to offer health app users an ongoing evaluation of apps by health professionals in addition to other users and to provide them with tools to easily select an appropriate and trustworthy app.

Resumen
We present a methodology to enable users to interact with the statistical information (survey data) of a public opinion institute which is stored in Cloud infrastructure. Mainly using R, this approach was developed following the open-data philosophy. Also, as we used R, the implementation is mainly based on open-source software. R has several advantages from the point of view of data management and acquisition, as it is becoming a common framework that can be used to structure the processes involved in any statistical operation. It further simplifies the access to data and enables the use of all the power of R in Cloud infrastructure. This methodology was applied successfully to develop a tool to manage the data of the Centre d’Estudis d’Opinió, but it can be applied to other institutions to enable open access to their data. The infrastructure was also deployed to Cloud infrastructure to assure its scalability and 24/7 access.

Resumen
i te kore nga putake e mākukungia e kore te rakau e tupu ('If the roots of the tree are not watered the tree will never grow') New Zealand is in the middle of the most dramatic and sustained boom in tourism and hospitality in its history. The hotel sector that underpins our tourism growth stands utterly transformed from its humble beginnings. Yet the history of the Tourist Hotel Corporation (THC) and its role as the ‘roots’ of the modern hotel industry still tends to be told only as a minor part of our wider tourism story. Recent PhD research [1], based on extensive archive sources and interviews with senior practitioners, argues that the time has come for the THC story to be told in full. While there have been histories of the tourism and hospitality sector that cover the THC [2–7], they have not included in-depth discussion of the origins, structure and legacies of the organisation. Established in 1955 and sold in 1991, the THC dominated the New Zealand tourist hotel sector for 35 years, running around 10 resort-style properties and setting the standard for service. However, the current dominance of neo-liberal ideology has resulted in the achievements of the Government-owned THC being somewhat dismissed and the role of massive Government investment in the development of our hotel sector often being ‘conveniently’ forgotten. It is common for the THC to be depicted as rather archaic. Burdened with political interference and gross underfunding, the THC is sometimes depicted as a prime example of what happens when the state tries to run a business. However, this research argues there is a more heroic telling of the THC story, one that celebrates the THC as the fundamental ‘roots’ of the modern hotel sector. The THC was a key player in transforming post-war New Zealand hospitality, raising the bar for service, food and beverage and accommodation significantly. The THC invested heavily in improving buildings, vehicles, equipment and machinery, developing the skills and careers of its staff, and innovating menus. Staff from the THC were seen as ‘A grade’ and many of today’s most successful General Managers learnt their trade in THC properties. Many THC staff also went on to set up influential restaurants outside of hotels during this period. The THC managed significant tourism development even while showing a profit from 1974 till the late 1980s, posting a 2.7 million dollar surplus in 1986. However, a combination of perceived indebtedness, the 1987 recession and free-market Government ideology resulted in the sale of the THC to the Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation in 1991. The story of the THC involves drama, intrigue, politics, high finance, rapid growth and equally rapid collapse. But most importantly, this is the story of the origins of our hotel industry, showing the huge contribution this state funded group made to the modern industry. Surely it is time this story was told in full, on its own terms and in glorious technicolour. Resumen
In numerical control (NC)-based machining, NC data-based tool paths affect both quality and productivity. NC data are generated according to cutting conditions. However, NC data causing excessive cutting load can accelerate tool wear and even result in tool damage. In the opposite case, increasing machining time can affect productivity. NC data can influence surface quality from the perspective of cutting dynamics according to machine tool–material–tool combination. There have been a lot of studies on tool-path optimization. However, it is impossible to perfectly predict cutting dynamics such as tool wear, material non-uniformity, chatter, and spindle deformation. In fact, such prediction-based tool-path optimization can cause errors. Therefore, this study attempts to synchronize spindle load and NC data and uniformize the machining load through the analysis of stored data using digital-twin technology, which stores and manages machining history. Uniformizing machining load can reduce rapid traverse in the event of no load, feed rate in an overload area, and shock on a tool when the tool and material are met by adding approach feed. Analyzing results of the attempts proposed in this paper, the chatter was completely removed in the machining with D100 and D16, although some chatter remained in the machining with D25 and D16R3 tools. In addition, the processing time could be reduced from a minimum of 7% to a maximum of 50% after optimization.

Resumen
Background: Hemorrhage is responsible for the majority of potentially survivable deaths amongst military and civilian sectors. Early interventions to manage bleeding during hemorrhagic injury, including administration of platelets (PLTs), are crucial for decreasing mortality. Cold-stored PLTs are an attractive treatment for active bleeding as they provide greater functional preservation and a reduced risk of bacterial sepsis than conventional room temperature stored PLTs. However, cold storage causes a rise in PLT intracellular calcium, subsequent activation of signaling pathways, and often results in aggregate formation. In this study, we hypothesized that storing PLTs in the cold with barium, a divalent cation chelated by citrate anticoagulant, would improve PLT quality. Methods: Apheresis PLTs in 100% plasma were collected from healthy donors (n=4). Briefly, 10 mL of PLTs were sterilely aliquotted and added to 15 mL mini-bags containing 0- (Control), 3-, or 6-mM BaCl2. Individual mini-bags were used for each timepoint and condition. Bags were incubated for 15 min at room temperature prior to long-term storage in a walk-in refrigerator (1°-6°C). Samples were assayed on days 1 (the day after collection) and 7 of storage for PLT metabolism, count, clot formation, clot retraction, and activation (phosphatidylserine, mitochondrial depolarization, GPIb, and P-Selectin). Data were reported as means±SD. Results: Compared to Control at day 7, BaCl2-treated bags exhibited higher PLT counts (Control: 422±215 x103 PLTs/µL; 3 mM BaCl2: 468±222 x103 PLTs/µL; 6 mM BaCl2: 697±194 x103 PLTs/µL), less PS exposure (Control: 6.3±3.5%; 3 mM BaCl2: 5.8±3 %; 6 mM BaCl2: 5.6±2.8 %), and less mitochondrial membrane depolarization. Additionally, glucose consumption and lactate production were lower in barium-supplemented PLTs. GPIb expression and P-Selectin was comparable amongst all groups. Hemostatic function, as assessed via thromboelastography and clot retraction, was not negatively affected by addition of BaCl2. In most assays, cold storage of PLTs with the higher concentration of BaCl2 (6 mM) seemed to confer the greatest advantages. Conclusion: Supplementation of barium to PLTs provides a promising avenue for transfusion medicine since PLT count is better preserved and activation is decreased compared to normal refrigerated storage. Future studies are warranted to determine the effects of barium supplementation on other aspects of cold-stored PLT function (e.g. procoagulant activity and PLT adhesion under physiologic flow) and with respect to alternate storage media (e.g. PLT additive solutions). Resumen
Background: Choledocholithiasis is primarily managed by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) but in certain situation particularly large and impacted common duct stone, the procedure may not succeed and this small group of patients require either open or laparoscopic common bile duct exploration followed by T-tube insertion. Usually T-Tube cholangiogram is performed on 10th postoperative day and tube is removed on 12-14th day. Alternatively, primary closure of duct after post exploratory choledochoscopy to ensure duct clearance with or without biliary stent can be done. Methods: This study was performed on 25 patients of failed endoscopic extraction, subjected to open choledocholithotomy. Group A (n=7) had T-tube insertion whereas group B (n=18) had primary closure of duct after choledochotomy. Results: 19 patients had calculus cholecystitis whereas 6 patients had prior cholecystectomy and later developed choledocholithiasis. 52% patients had impacted stone and 40% had large stone as a cause of ERCP failure. Postoperative pyrexia, cholangitis, septicemia, sub-hepatic bilious drainage and postoperative hospital stay was higher in T-tube group as compared to primary closure group. Conclusions: Primary closure over the biliary stent after cholecystectomy and/or choledocholithotomy has less morbidity as compared to T-tube insertion and hence should be preferred choice in choledocholithiasis, provided stone free duct is ensured peroperative using choledochoscopy.

Resumen
AbstractAlthough small benthic freshwater fish species are an important biological component of fish assemblages and free instream movement is indispensable for their survival, they are often neglected in fish pass performance studies. In this study, a capture-mark-recapture approach was used to assess whether small bottom-dwelling species, including gudgeon (Gobio gobio), stone loach (Barbatula barbatula), spined loach (Cobitis taenia) and bullhead (Cottus gobio), were able to cross a pool-and-weir fish pass in a regulated lowland river. Some tagged individuals of stone loach (18%), gudgeon (7%) and spined loach (2%) managed to successfully ascend the fish pass under study, despite the fact that water velocity levels in the different overflows of the facility (between 0.55-1.22 m/s) exceeded the critical swimming speed of all three species. Although this suggests that a pool-and-weir fish pass is a able to facilitate upstream movement of some small benthic species in a regulated river, more detailed research incorporating advanced tagging and retrieving techniques is necessary.

It is identified that the information literacy of new generation is expressed by the ability to determine the goals and the need for information, the ability to project the process of information search, the ability to collect and store the information, the ability to deal with the information in professional and ethical manner when achieving the intended objectives. The levels of these skills are not the same quantitatively. The ability of determining the goals and the need for information is mostly expressed whereas the ability of collecting and storing of the information is weakest. Blocked-data ANOVA shows that the various information abilities under SCONUL evaluation model differ significantly (p = 0.000 for α = 0.05). The ability of determining the goals and the need for information and the ability of projecting process of searching information are based on metacognitive thinking skills whereas the ability of collecting and storing of the information and the ability to deal with the information in professional and ethical manner are based on cognitive thinking skills. The metacognitive abilities of new generation based on the information are better expressed than cognitive ones. The statistical significance of the difference has been confirmed by blocked-data ANOVA.

Resumen
SUMMARYSeparation of pig slurry into solid and liquid fractions is gaining importance as a way to manage increasing volumes of slurry. In contrast to solid manure and slurry, little is known about pathogen survival in separated liquid slurry. The viability of Ascaris suum eggs, a conservative indicator of fecal pollution, and its association with ammonia was investigated in separated liquid slurry in comparison with raw slurry. For this purpose nylon bags with 6000 eggs each were placed in 1 litre bottles containing one of the two fractions for 308 days at 5 °C or 25 °C. Initial analysis of helminth eggs in the separated liquid slurry revealed 47 Ascaris eggs per gramme. At 25 °C, egg viability declined to zero with a similar trend in both raw slurry and the separated liquid slurry by day 308, a time when at 5 °C 88% and 42% of the eggs were still viable in separated liquid slurry and raw slurry, respectively. The poorer survival at 25 °C was correlated with high ammonia contents in the range of 7·9–22·4 mm in raw slurry and 7·3–23·2 mm in liquid slurry compared to 3·2–9·5 mm in raw slurry and 2·6–9·5 mm in liquid slurry stored at 5 °C. The study demonstrates that at 5 °C, A. suum eggs have a higher viability in separated liquid slurry as compared to raw slurry. The hygiene aspect of this needs to be further investigated when separated liquid slurry is used to fertilize pastures or crops.

Resumen
In 1998, thirty-four managed sugar bush blocks with 7% to 72% ice-induced crown damage were established in eastern Ontario. All received dolomitic lime (Ca, Mg) and P and K treatments in June 1999. Initial crown damage, fall root starch and sugar levels, sap production and sweetness, sap amino acid concentration, and tap hole closure rate were measured. Syrup production was calculated. Trees with >50% (severe) crown damage had reduced root starch content in 1998 and 2000, but not in 1999. In 2000, root total sugars were lower in trees with >50% crown damage. Sap produced per tap, and sap sweetness were reduced by damage, but not consistently in all years. Sap per tap increased with total crown branches in all three years, but sap sweetness and syrup production only in 1999. Syrup production per tap was consistently reduced in damaged trees in all three years, usually in trees with > 50% damage. The lime and P and K treatments did not significantly affect any of the variables measured. Results suggest that severe ice storm damage to crowns resulted in reduced fall root starch levels and less sap production, and/or sap sweetness, and therefore lowered the syrup producing capacity of sugar maple. Key words: Acer saccharum, ice storm, sap and syrup production, root starch, crown damage

Resumen
Background: Urological disorders like stone disease, pyonephrosis secondary to obstruction and trauma are common during pregnancy with global incidence of 1 in 250 to 1 in 3000. These diseases can complicate any pregnancy and timely diagnosis and management is of utmost importance for safety of the mother and fetus. Managing these cases entails morbidity and minimally invasive procedures avoiding anesthesia have definite advantage. Methods: It was an observational study. Pregnant patients with nephrolithiasis, pyonephrosis, complicated post-traumatic ureteropelvic junction (PUJ) obstruction (PUJO) and trauma were included in the study. Results: Out of total 84 cases, 45 required intervention. Percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) for pyonephrosis secondary to PUJO and obstructed PUJ calculus was done in 11 and 14 cases respectively. Bilateral PCN for bilateral nephrolithiasis was done in 7 cases. Silicon double-J stenting for ureteric calculus was done in 13 cases. One case of spontaneous fornicial rupture of kidney without stone disease was managed conservatively as were 4 cases of trauma with concomitant renal injury, 18 cases of non-obstructive renal stones and 16 cases of pyelonephritis. Seven patients lost follow-up. One case each of pyonephrosis and polytrauma had fetal death at term unrelated to urological cause. In rest 75 patients, primary pathology was tackled after 6-8 weeks of delivery. Conclusions: Urological diseases during pregnancy are not an uncommon entity and can pose risk to both mother and fetus. With good clinical vigil, use of minimally invasive procedures, close monitoring and follow up, these patients can be safely managed without any adverse events to the fetus and mother.

Resumen
‘Honeycrisp’ apples are susceptible to develop the physiological disorder bitter pit. This disorder typically develops during storage, but preharvest lesion can also develop. ‘Honeycrisp’ is also chilling sensitive, and fruit is typically held at 10–20 °C after harvest for up to 7 days to reduce development of chilling injury (CI) during subsequent cold storage. This temperature conditioning period followed by a lower storage temperature (2–4 °C) reduces CI risk but can exacerbate bitter pit development. Bitter pit development can be impacted in other apple cultivars by the use of controlled atmosphere (CA) storage and/or 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP). Studies were conducted to evaluate efficacy of CA and/or 1-MCP to manage ‘Honeycrisp’ bitter pit development. Apples from multiple lots, obtained at commercial harvest, were held at 10 °C for 7 days and then cooled to 3 °C. Half the fruit was exposed to 42 μmol·L−1 1-MCP the day of receipt while held at 10 °C. Fruit were stored in air or CA (3 kPa O2, 0.5 kPa CO2 for 2 days, then 1.5 kPa O2, 0.5 kPa CO2) established after 1 day at 10 °C or after 7 days at 10 °C plus 2 days at 3 °C. Fruit treated with 1-MCP and/or stored in CA developed less bitter pit compared with untreated fruit stored in air, and bitter pit incidence was lowest for 1-MCP-treated fruit with CA established during conditioning. Development of diffuse flesh browning (DFB) and cavities, reported to occur during ‘Honeycrisp’ CA storage, was observed in some lots. Incidence of these disorders was not enhanced by establishing CA 2 days compared with 9 days after harvest. 1-MCP and CA slowed peel color change, loss of soluble solids content (SSC) and titratable acidity (TA), and reduced ethylene production and respiration rate. The results indicate potential for the postharvest management of bitter pit development in ‘Honeycrisp’ apple through use of 1-MCP and/or CA storage.

Resumen
Off-peak delivery (OPD) is the delivery of goods during the evening and overnight hours. This strategy has the potential to alleviate peak period congestion, improve efficiency of delivery firms, and reduce emissions. This paper investigates benefits and challenges of a pilot OPD program in the Region of Peel, with the goal of informing potential broader implementations of OPD. In contrast to other previously implemented OPD projects, this OPD pilot focuses on deliveries in suburban areas. Three firms, delivering to 14 pilot retail stores, participated in the OPD pilot in the Region of Peel from March to August 2019. The analysis shows that during the six-month pilot, the average speed of the trips that were made in off-peak hours, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next day, is 18.1% faster than those that happened in day-time hours. Furthermore, the total greenhouse gas emissions/km decreased by 10.6%, and emissions factors for air quality pollutants, including CO, NOx, PM10, and PM2.5 reduced by 10.8% to 15.0% in off-peak hours. Results for service times varied between firms, but on average increased by 15.2%, indicating activities in the off-peak hours at the retail stores that prevented overall improvements in service time compared to day-time deliveries. A post-pilot interview was done with logistics managers of the three firms, which provides rich insights about challenges, successes, and ways that the OPD program could be improved.

Resumen
Abstract. Managing forests for recreational benefits, such as off-highway vehicle (OHV) use, as well as other ecosystem services, such as clean and abundant water, can often present challenges for land managers when one ecosystem service conflicts with another. We conducted research in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest to determine if the presence and use of OHV trails were associated with greater total suspended solids (TSS) concentrations and turbidity in streams during storm events in 2015-2016. We used a paired-watershed approach, with a treatment watershed containing the Locust Stake OHV trail system on the North Fork of the Broad River, and a reference watershed (Kimbell Creek) similar in all respects except for the presence and use of OHV trails. During the study period, mean streamflow rates across all sampling times were 19% greater, but mean stormflow rates were 29% less, at Locust Stake compared to Kimbell Creek. During storm sampling, the average storm TSS concentration was greater at Locust Stake (101.1 mg L-1) than at Kimbell Creek (65.3 mg L-1). The results indicate that the greater the stormflow, the greater the TSS concentration for each storm event sampled across both watersheds. TSS concentration was linearly and positively related to stormflow, with R2 values ranging from 0.11 to 0.92 for all events in both watersheds. Across all sampling dates, the TSS concentration per unit stormflow was greater at Locust Stake than at Kimbell Creek, and was 7-fold greater at Locust Stake after the OHV trails were opened compared to when they were closed for maintenance and assessment. When the OHV trails were closed, the TSS concentration per unit stormflow was still significantly greater, by 4-fold, at Locust Stake compared to Kimbell Creek. Our results suggest that the presence and use of the Locust Stake OHV trail system are associated with poorer water quality, and with better water quality when the trails are closed. Forest managers face a well-defined set of tradeoffs between providing OHV recreation and water quality benefits that warrants careful planning and monitoring. Resumen
Abstract The aim of the study was to compare the sensory quality of scab resistant ‘Topaz’ apples grown in certified organic orchards (ECO) with those grown in orchards managed within integrated method (IP), and to determine their potential processing suitability. Fruits were harvested in five certificated IP and ECO orchards at the optimum ripeness stage and stored for two months in normal atmosphere at 1 ºC. Apple quality was assessed one day after cold storage and after 7 days of storage at the temperature 18 ºC to simulate shelf life. The results of taste and flavour sensory assessment did not explicitly demonstrate the effect of the orchard management system on the overall eating quality. Although the fruits from the organic orchards were perceived as less sweet and sourer, the management system did not influence the overall eating quality. There was no effect of the growing technology on quality traits connected with aroma and overall texture assessment. Regarding appearance evaluation, fruits from organic orchards were characterized by a higher variation in shape and size, and more frequently than in the case of IP apples had blemishes, scars and rust, which negatively affected their attractiveness. Analysis of the chemical composition of fruits indicates that apples from organic orchards are characterized on average by higher titratable acidity and higher soluble solids content than apples from IP orchards, which could favour their potential application as the additive regulating acidity and shaping the desirable sensory traits of processed organic products.

Resumen
This paper presents a design for a feedstock logistics system to supply a bioenergy plant located in the Southeast USA, specifically Piedmont, a physiographic region covering part of five states (VA, NC, SC, GA, and AL). The design uses a perennial grass (switchgrass) as the feedstock. Harvest is done with a round baler, and round bales are stored in single-layer ambient storage in satellite storage locations. New technology, 20-bale racks, was designed as the multi-bale handling unit. The analysis shows how proper design of the interactions between the several unit operations in a “logistics chain” can be used to minimize average delivered cost for the feedstock required for 24/7 operation. Racks are loaded at the satellite storage and delivered by hauling contractors hired by the plant and controlled by a “Feedstock Manager” at the plant to insure approximately the same number of loads are received each day. Single-bale handling at the plant is eliminated, thus the truck unload time is reduced and truck productivity (tons/day) is increased. At-plant handling and storage in 20-bale racks increases plant receiving facility productivity, and gives a reduction in plant cost to supply a continuous steam of material for 24/7 operation.

A growing number of online electronic resources present academic work. We are not focusing here on specialised electronic databases that store bibliographic research data, such as Medline, PubMed, ASSIA, ERIC, JSTOR, but databases or social networking websites /platforms for academics/researchers that profile research, academic and professional activities, such as SCOPUS, WoS (Web of Science), Academia.edu, KUDOS, ORCiD, ResearchGate, LinkedIn, Google-Scholar and Mendeley. We discuss databases or platforms can promote the profile of an individual academic, highlighting their research interests, grants and publications. These databases are good outlets for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to build, improve and promote their public profile. However, the level of efforts requires to open an account or to maintain these databases regularly can be a daunting task for some scholars. This paper outlines some of these key databases and their functions and reflects on advantages and disadvantages of engaging with the most popular ones. We remind the reader that many of these databases require academics’ attention and input, and thus create more work. Int. J. Soc. Sc. Manage. Vol. 7, Issue-1: 38-41

Resumen
Introduction: Concomitant cholelithiasis and choledocholithiasis are commonly managed in two stage procedure, endoscopic management of common bile duct stone followed by laparoscopic cholecystectomy in different time and setting. We perform these two procedures in same sitting in operating room set up. We evaluated the procedure in terms of outcome, feasibility and complications. Methods: Prospective cross-sectional study carried out since April 2013 to August 2016 in all patients who had undergone single stage endoscopic and laparoscopic management of concomitant cholelithiasis and choledocholithiasis. Patient’s demography, procedural time for different procedure and procedure in total and post-operative complications were recorded and analyzed with suitable statistical methods. Results: Out of 50 cases enrolled, 2 patients were converted to open. Out of 48 patients, 3 needed re-attempt for completion. Majority were female 36 (72%), mean age was 39.48years. Mean common bile duct diameter and mean stone size was 11.43±2.63 cm and 7.99±2.01cm, respectively. Mean of total procedural time was 90.93± 33.68 minutes. In most of the cases, laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed first followed by endoscopic method (66.7%). Total procedural time was less in the patients who underwent laparoscopy first in comparison to endoscopy first. Clinically significant complications like cholangitis, pancreatitis and duodenal perforation occurred in 7 patients. Out of 4 patients who developed pancreatitis, one had severe acute pancreatitis requiring prolonged hospitalization. Conclusion: Single stage management of common bile duct and gall bladder stone by laparoscopic and endoscopic method is feasible in our setup with acceptable results. Endoscopic treatment of common bile duct stone if performed first, is associated with longer procedural time. Resumen
How do the local impacts of Hurricane Sandy's devastating storm surge differ because of the phase of the normal astronomical tide, given the spatiotemporal variability of tides around New York? In the weeks and months after Hurricane Sandy's peak surge came ashore at the time of local high tide at the southern tip of Manhattan and caused record-setting flooding along the New York and New Jersey coastline, this was one question that government officials and critical infrastructure managers were asking. For example, a simple superposition of the observed peak storm surge during Sandy on top of high tide in Western Long Island Sound comes within 29 cm (less than a foot) of the top elevation of the Stamford Hurricane barrier system which would have been overtopped by 60 cm surface waves riding over that storm tide. Here, a hydrodynamic model study of how shifts in storm surge timing could have influenced flood heights is presented. Multiple flood scenarios were evaluated with Stevens Institute of Technology's New York Harbor Observing and Prediction System model (NYHOPS) having Hurricane Sandy arriving any hour within the previous or next tidal cycle (any hour within a 26-hour period around Sandy's actual landfall). The simulated scenarios of Sandy coming between 7 and 10 hours earlier than it did were found to produce the worst coastal flooding in the Upper East River, Western and Central Long Island Sound among the evaluated cases. Flooding would have generally been worse compared to the real Sandy in Connecticut and the areas of New York City around the Upper East River between the boroughs of Queens and the Bronx, exceeding record flood heights. However, the New York Harbor region would still have seen its record flood elevation exceeded, so the storm's impact could have been more widespread. The hydrodynamic model results suggest that the still-water levels would have risen to within 75 cm of the top elevation of the Stamford storm surge barrier, 46 cm lower than the naïve superposition of astronomical tide and storm surge.

Resumen
Background and Aim: The renal stones of any size could be effectively managed through an essential surgical technique known as Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL). The large size renal stones with abnormal kidneys imposed additional challenges for PNCL in anomalous kidneys. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy in malrotated kidneys. Place and Duration: Conducted at Urology department of Mian Gul Abdulhaq Jehanzeb Kidney Hospital Manglawar, Swat for duration of two years (from May 2019 to April 2021). Materials and Methods. This single-centered retrospective study was conducted on 80 patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy with malrotation kidneys. The individuals with anomalous kidneys and complex calculi were enrolled in this study. These patients had kidneys anomalies such as horseshoe kidneys, crossed fused ectopia, malrotation kidneys, pelvic and complete stone clearance. Posterior or anterior approaches were followed for the procedure after preoperative evaluation in kidney anomalies. Retrograde catheterization was carried out under spinal and general anesthesia with the patients. For all the patients, stone size and clearance were measured. Results: Of the total 80 kidneys anomalies patients, 55 (68.7%) were male and 25 (31.3%) were females. Overall mean age was 35.26 ± 13.51. The stone size varied from 1.3cm to 7 cm. Patients were categorized into two groups based on stone sizes such as group I (1.3-2.5 cm) had 42 (52.5%) and group II (25-7cm) 38 (47.5%) patients. The patients included renal pelvis 19 (23.6%), the pelvic ureteric junction (PUJ) 8 (10%), horseshoe kidneys 2 (2.5%), crossed fused ectopia 9 (11.3%), and malrotation kidneys 3 (3.8%).The stone clearance was completed in 77 (96.3%) patients. The statistically significant factor for complete clearance was the staghorn stone calculus. Conclusion: Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is a safe and effective procedure for large renal stones management in patients of anomalous kidneys. Higher renal stones clearance can be achieved with minimum morbidity by suitable preoperative evaluation and technical experts. Resumen
Fumigation of grain bins with phosphine tablets is one method of insect control for stored products. Monitoring the concentration of the toxic gas at many locations over several days for a given structure or container can be challenging. In this study, a commercially-available system that wirelessly measures phosphine was evaluated in small-scale and large-scale tests. Small-scale testing was performed to study the repeatability and accuracy of the sensors. The wireless sensors were within 30 ppm of each other, over a range of 700 ppm phosphine. Large-scale testing evaluated the system during the fumigation of wheat stored in 7 m diameter, 120 metric ton, steel grain bins. As a reference, monitoring lines were distributed at several positions and depths in the bin in order to sample phosphine gas concentrations. A series of three fumigation trials were performed, with each lasting for over six days. The wireless devices collected local phosphine concentrations and temperatures every two hours without assistance from personnel. Although the fumigation trials were significantly different in terms of patterns in gas concentration over time, the two sampling methods gave similar trendlines. However, the automated data provided a more detailed picture of the fumigation process. This information may help fumigation managers to better evaluate fumigations and assure successful insect control.

Resumen
Service quality is important because it makes prices more affordable, and also fulfils customer satisfaction. This bolsters trust for customers, and thereby encourages them to keep buying products at retail stores. This research uses Quality Service Analysis method to understand the gap between customers’ expectations regarding service attributes and their perceived satisfaction level. This study also uses the method of Importance and Performance Analysis to determine an attribute’s category. Therefore, it can determine which priorities should be reinforced to improve customer satisfaction. Through SERVQUAL analysis, there are 10 known attributes of each retailer that has the highest gap score. Through IPA analysis, we know that Alfamart has 7 attributes which warrant serious attention from management. This is due to the high expectations of customers on the indicator, and the fact that the management has not managed well. Meanwhile, Indomaret has 9 attributes that warrant serious attention from management.

Resumen
Dietary and urinary risk factors have been implicated in conditions favoring ammonium urate nephrolithiasis in managed dolphins compared with free-ranging dolphins. In this study, urine samples were collected from 16 dolphins (8 cases, 8 controls) from the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program for the purposes of assessing changes in urinary biomarkers after a large meal. Urinary biomarkers and nephrolithiasis presence were assessed opportunistically in 15 long-term resident free-ranging dolphins living in Sarasota Bay, Florida. Additionally, the total purine contents of fish commonly consumed by each dolphin population were measured to evaluate potential dietary risk factors. Populations were compared for total dietary purine composition, recently fed status, nephrolithiasis presence, and differences in urinary biochemical, acid-base, and physicochemical parameters via Wilcoxon rank sum analysis and least square means. Managed dolphins had higher urinary pH and ammonium ([Formula: see text]) in both pre- and postprandial conditions and higher urinary uric acid and saturation indices of NH4U in the postprandial condition compared with free-ranging dolphins ( P < 0.05). The purine content was greater ( P < 0.0001) in the diet consumed by managed dolphins [7 mmol/Mcal metabolizable energy (ME)] than in the free-ranging dolphin diet (4 mmol/Mcal ME). Free-ranging dolphins did not show evidence of nephrolithiasis. Observed differences in urinary biomarkers and dietary purine content in these two dolphin populations suggest a pathophysiologic basis for the role of fish types on the risk of NH4U stone formation. Future research should investigate fish type and feeding frequency, inhibitors and promoters, and alkalinizing therapy for reducing NH4U nephrolithiasis in dolphins.

Background The large number of available cancer apps and their impact on the population necessitates a transparent, objective, and comprehensive evaluation by app experts, health care professionals, and users. To date, there have been no analyses or classifications of apps for patients with genitourinary cancers, which are among the most prevalent types of cancer. Objective The objective of our study was to analyze the quality of apps for patients diagnosed with genitourinary cancers using the Mobile Application Rating Scale (MARS) and identify high-quality apps. Methods We performed an observational cross-sectional descriptive study of all smartphone apps for patients diagnosed with genitourinary cancers available on iOS and Android platforms. In July 2019, we searched for all available apps for patients with genitourinary cancers (bladder, prostate, cervical, uterine, endometrial, kidney, testicular, and vulvar) or their caregivers. Apps were downloaded and evaluated, and the general characteristics were entered into a database. The evaluation was performed by 2 independent researchers using the MARS questionnaire, which rates 23 evaluation criteria clustered in 5 domains (Engagement, Functionality, Esthetics, Information, and Subjective Quality) on a scale from 1 to 5. Results In total, 46 apps were analyzed. Of these, 31 (67%) were available on Android, 6 (13%) on iOS, and 9 (20%) on both platforms. The apps were free in 89% of cases (41/46), and 61% (28/46) had been updated in the previous year. The apps were intended for prostate cancer in 30% of cases (14/46) and cervical cancer in 17% (8/46). The apps were mainly informative (63%, 29/46), preventive (24%, 11/46), and diagnostic (13%, 6/46). Only 7/46 apps (15%) were developed by health care organizations. The mean MARS score for the overall quality of the 46 apps was 2.98 (SD 0.77), with a maximum of 4.63 and a minimum of 1.95. Functionality scores were quite similar for most of the apps, with the greatest differences in Engagement and Esthetics, which showed acceptable scores in one-third of the apps. The 5 apps with the highest MARS score were the following: “Bladder cancer manager,” “Kidney cancer manager,” “My prostate cancer manager,” “Target Ovarian Cancer Symptoms Diary,” and “My Cancer Coach.” We observed statistically significant differences in the MARS score between the operating systems and the developer types (P<.001 and P=.01, respectively), but not for cost (P=.62). Conclusions MARS is a helpful methodology to decide which apps can be prescribed to patients and to identify which features should be addressed to improve these tools. Most of the apps designed for patients with genitourinary cancers only try to provide data about the disease, without coherent interactivity. The participation of health professionals in the development of these apps is low; nevertheless, we observed that both the participation of health professionals and regular updates were correlated with quality.

Resumen
Background: Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to manage gastrointestinal disorders. Special populations may require omeprazole to be given as an oral suspension. Objective: The purpose of this project was to compare the stability of omeprazole in the FIRST kit product to a traditionally compounded omeprazole suspension, when stored in refrigerated unit-dosed syringes. NG tube delivery of the 2 products was also investigated. Methods: Five batches of compounded omeprazole oral suspension and 5 kits of FIRST-Omeprazole were prepared to an initial concentration of 2 mg/mL. Suspensions were aliquoted into 5-mL doses in clear plastic oral syringes, and stored at 2-8 °C. Syringes from each batch were analyzed at baseline and after 7, 14, 21, and 30 days for omeprazole potency using HPLC. To assess suitability for NG tube administration, 20 mL of each suspension were administered through NG tubes (8Fr, 10Fr, and 18Fr), and percent omeprazole recovery assessed. Results: The chemical potency remained within 90-110% for 14 days and 30 days for compounded samples and FIRST-Omeprazole samples, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference in initial concentration; 1.89 mg/mL versus 1.98 mg/mL for compounded and FIRST-Omeprazole, respectively. After 30 days, FIRST-Omeprazole demonstrated 97.20% API recovery. Neither suspension experienced statistically significant loss of potency following NG tube passage. Conclusion: FIRST-Omeprazole suspension may be stored in refrigerated clear luer-lock oral syringes for 30 days. Traditionally compounded omeprazole suspension should be used within 14 days. Both suspensions are suitable for NG tube administration.

Resumen
Fundamental changes have occurred in the competitive environment in the Russian retailing market in the beginning of 2000s. New Russian retailing chains are expanding to occupy the place of independent stores and open-air markets. However, they face a serious challenge. The first transnational retailers have already entered the domestic market. More of them are expected to invest huge money into the Russian economy. A redistribution of markets is on the agenda for the next 3-4 years. What does it mean for Russian leading sellers? Will they survive or leave the market as it happened with local retailing chains in Eastern Europe? What kind of business strategies are elaborated to meet the challenge of the new competitive environment? These are the issues for investigation in the paper. A major data source comes from two series of in-depth interviews conducted with owners and top managers of 38 companies, which are members of two business associations - RATEC and ACORT.
