This study was designed to measure affective, behavioural, and cognitive variables in a sample of 3159 first-year students, and to compare these variables by the type of residence building in which the student lived. Students living in suite-style buildings reported a greater sense of belonging, and higher activity levels than students living in dormitory- style buildings. Furthermore, sense of belonging was predicted by high extraversion and low conscientiousness. This suggests that introverted, conscientious students living in traditional dormitory-style buildings may be most at-risk of feel

Despite recent modifications that intended to improve their situation, the pathways to permanent residence of international students are still restricted. While there are some dissenting voices, research has also demonstrated that place of residence has little, if any, impact on marks. How can we create a sense of community and shared responsibility among students in residence halls— and for that matter elsewhere in their campus lives? The residential life staff at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) wrestled with this question after experiencing a year in which student behavior resulted in costly damage to residence halls. They discovered that it wasn't their job to create community for students at all, but instead to empower students to create it for themselves. So the Community Standards Model was born.

Resumen
SummaryA survey was conducted among 2800 students studying in Wrocław, Poland. The questionnaire included questions on the body height of the students and their parents, and place of residence and migration patterns of the students themselves, their parents and their grandparents. Body height in both students and their parents was positively correlated with the size of their place of residence. This was particularly true for male students and their fathers. Body height in students and parents from mobile families was not significantly different from that of their peers from non-mobile families
