Sublevel caving (SLC) is an underground mass mining method where the orebody is divided into a regular network of tunnels. The ore is extracted by level working downwards through the orebody. This case study is based on field data from Telfer sublevel caving mine in Western Australia. Dessa forma, objetivou-se avaliar, em laboratório, os efeitos letal e subletais de inseticidas reguladores de crescimento sobre larvas e adultos com até 24 h de idade do predador Ceraeochrysa cubana (Hagen, 1861). O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os efeitos da concentração subletal de 0,3 ppm da FSA de petróleo em parâmetros do sistema imune inato e hepático de Rachycentron canadum após o período de 7 e 14 dias. Observou-se uma diminuição do fator de condição dos animais expostos por 14 dias, comparado ao grupo controle. A contagem diferencial de leucócitos mostrou um aumento do número de leucócitos após 7 dias, e uma diminuição destes após 14 dias. Os impactos em ambientes aquáticos causados pela presença de pesticidas, dentre eles os organofosforados, podem provocar lesões em peixes. Assim, os efeitos o organofosforado Azodrin® 400 cujo princípio ativo é o monocrotofós, sobre as brânquias de juvenis de Piaractus mesopotamicus (pacu), foram investigados.
