The characteristics of snow cover (survey) and the maximum snow storage in the Altai Territory is it from route snow surveys weather stations. Snow depth in the Altai Territory regularly increases in the direction from south-west to north-east and east due to a higher altitude, reduce the dryness of the climate, the landscape change from the steppe to the forest. The variability of snow cover and snow storage for the period 1966–2015 increases in forest–steppe (Barnaul) and forest Salair Ridge and Altai, slightly cutting into the wilderness.

The paper provides results of radioecological survey of the site «4» at the territory of Semipalatinsk Test Site, where warfare radioactive agents were tested. Information on the records of common Camel Spider, Galeodes araneoides, at archaeological sites (settlements) of the Right Bank of Dnieper territory in the Kherson Region is presented: the species is recorded at one territory (Staroshvedske) based on observations of the authors (confirmed by the photo), and given for other territory (Chervonomaiatske) based on the data of survey. We evaluated winter-territory mapping as a method for estimating fisher (Martes pennanti) density in a 210-km2 survey area in north-central Massachusetts in 1994 and 1995 by comparing estimates with simultaneous camera markresight estimates. Assuming intrasexual territoriality and accounting for all occupied habitat, territories of resident radio-marked fishers were mapped (mean = 54% of all territories in the study area), and those of unmarked resident fishers were identified from tracks and photographs. This is a report on the mammals found in April 2001 during a brief terrestial vertebrate fauna survey on previously unsurveyed Croker Island which is 3 km offshore from the Cobourg Peninusula. Seven mammals were recorded but only 3 were native. These were black flying -fox (Pteropus alecto), grassland melomys (Melomys burtoni) and the dingo (Canis lupus dingo). The remaining 4 species were domestic and feral animals (horse, cat, cattle and pig).
