Texto completoSocial media has in recent years grown and become an integrated part of people's everyday lives. The growth in popularity of social media has resulted in many companies moving parts of their marketing efforts to these platforms in the hope of getting a wider and more committed audience. An effect of the increased interest in social media marketing has been to sponsor people who have large numbers of followers, also called influencers, on social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Youtube. While sponsoring influencers is becoming more common, we also see that the influencer audience has begun to grow tired of the sponsored material. Earlier research on celebrity marketing has shown that there is a negative relationship between the amount of products that a celebrity endorses and the endorser's source credibility. Researchers also found that the consumer's purchase intention and brand attitude were negatively affected. Our study therefore aimed to investigate whether the same conclusions can be drawn for influencers. On the other hand, research shows that the consumer's relationship with celebrity may differ from the relationship to an influencer. Because consumers often experience that they have a relationship to the influencers that they follow on social media, this can affect the reduced source credibility that would otherwise occur when an influencer publishes a larger amount of sponsored content. Therefore, this study also aimed to investigate whether the consumer's purchase intention and attitude is influenced by the consumer following an influencer or not.In order to answer the purpose of the study, an online experiment was conducted. Participants in the study were randomized into one of two groups where they were exposed to different amounts of sponsored material. The experiment was completed with a survey and the groups were compared to see if the attitude towards the influencer, purchase intentions and brand attitude changed when the participant was exposed to a larger amount of sponsored material. The survey also enabled further analysis of how attitudes and intentions are affected by the consumer being a follower or not. The result showed that the number of sponsored posts published by an influencer does not affect the consumer's purchase intention, brand attitude or the source credibility of the influencer. However, the study found that an influencer's source credibility was affected by whether the consumer is a follower or non-follower, which in turn also affects the consumer's purchase intention and brand attitude. We also found that source credibility affects purchase intention and brand attitude in both cases. We can therefore conclude that it is less important for the consumer how many sponsored posts an influencer publishes. It is more about whether the consumer follows the influencer or not, than about how the consumer receives the sponsored material. The following thesis is written in Swedish.

Texto completoTitleMarketing activities on Instagram - A quantitative study of how brand attitude is affected by companies colloborations with influencers on social media. LevelFinal assignment for Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. AuthorsFelicia Johnsén & Wintana Habte Gimariam. SupervisorsJonas Molin & Lars-Johan Åge. Date2021 – june AimThe purpose of the study is to investigate how brand attitude is affected by the perceived attractiveness of influencers when they do collaborations with brands. MethodThis study applies a quantitative method with a cross-sectional study. The study's data collection was conducted with an online survey. It was based on 79 acceptable responses from Instagram users who follow one or more influencers. The survey results have been analyzed through IBM SPSS Statistics and Excel. Subsequently, a descriptive analysis and a correlation analysis were performed to interpret the study results. Result & ConclusionThe results of this study show that attractive properties affect brand attitude more than physical attractiveness. The results of the study also show that the meaning of choosing the right influencer for the right brand is important for a company's success. Suggestions for future researchThis study proposes, among other things, to conduct two qualitative studies where one raises the issue of physical attractiveness has become taboo to talk about and the other can perform the same study as this, but with interviews as a data collection method. Other proposals for further research are to examine different generations and limit the selection by gender distribution, for example only women. Contribution of the thesisThe study's contribution is that attractive characteristics of influencers affect consumers more than their physical attractiveness. It is also important for companies to choose a suitable influencer for their brand in order to promote positive attitudes towards the brand. Texto completoAim: The purpose is to investigate the difference between a human influencer and a virtual influencer's effect on a consumer's brand attitude and purchase intention when a brand is marketed through social media. Method: The study applies a quantitative research method with a deductive approach. The population to be studied is Swedish Instagram users between the ages of 15 and 60. The selection of respondents is based on a non-random sample. Data has been collected through a web-based survey. The survey resulted in a total number of 182 respondents. The data has been analyzed through the statistical programs Jamovi and SmartPLS. A descriptive analysis, one-sided and paired t-tests, correlation analysis and structured equation modeling have been used to interpret the study's results. Result and conclusions: The result of this study shows that both a human- and a virtual influencer have an effect on a consumer's brand attitude and purchase intention. In both cases, the effect of a consumer's purchase intention is mediated by the brand attitude the influencer has generated. Based on the study's theoretical framework, the study has also been able to show that different factors have a relationship to a human- and virtual influencer, even though they are marketing the same brand. Contribution: The study contributes to theoretical knowledge that a virtual influencer has an effect on a consumer's brand attitude and purchase intention. The study also contributes to the knowledge that there are different factors that have a relationship to a consumer's brand attitude and purchase intention in relation to a human- or virtual form of influencer. Suggestion for future research: Further research is suggested to investigate personality traits that are connected to a greater likability towards virtual influencers. A replication with modification is also proposed as well as a study on which type of organizations/industries that can benefit from using a virtual influencer in their marketing.

Texto completoPurpose and research questions The purpose of this study is to identify possible effects that industry awards might have on consumer awareness, attitude, loyalty and on consumer’s self-image towards a brand. The following research questions are answered through the study: Which effect do industry awards have on brand awareness, brand attitude and brand loyalty? Which effect do industry awards have on the consumer’s self-image? Method This study largely takes on a deductive approach by formulating hypotheses. A survey was conducted with questions based on the theory. The collected data was analyzed through a quantitative as well as a qualitative perspective. The quantitative analysis identified a survey mean which was evaluated against a threshold value. In the qualitative analysis, the significance of the answers was further interpreted and explained. Conclusion According to the results of this study, industry awards do not lead to an increase of brand awareness, positive brand attitudes or an increased brand loyalty. A few of the separate components within the scopes of survey has shown a vague increase. However, according to the result industry awards have a neutral effect. This means that at the same time as no significant increases have been identified, neither have any significant decreases. Furthermore, the results showed that the consumer’s self-image had the lowest effect of industry awards.

Texto completoThe development of the digital world and social media has given consumers greater power in how an organisation is perceived as they have a direct and indirect impact on an organisation's image through what they share, comment on and review (Alam & Khan 2019). Ji, Li, North and Liu (2017) argue that one single negative comment on social media can develop into a crisis, defined in this study as an online storm. The purpose of this study is to examine how purchase intention can be affected by analysing the online storm that NA-KD experienced in December 2020. This case was highlighted on social media where former interns and employees at NA-KD shared that they had experienced verbal abuse from bosses, bullying and untenable stress at the workplace (Hansson 2020).Consumers changing brand attitudes and the role that emotions play in consumer behaviour must be examined to predict purchase intentions. To attain the purpose of this study, two research questions were formulated as well as two hypotheses, based on previous research and theory, and a quantitative study in the form of a questionnaire was conducted. The SOR theory proposed by Jacoby (2002) was used as a theoretical framework for the study. The results show that consumers experienced anger and therefore assumed a negative behaviour towards the organisation, which worsened brand attitude. This in return negatively affects purchase intention. The results of the study also show that in this case consumer engagement on social media had been relatively low. Despite this, brand attitude had been affected negatively with the majority. This indicates that consumer engagement on social media is not a significant factor in affecting brand attitude and purchase intention by an online storm. The study is written in Swedish.

Texto completoThis study was inspired from observing ads that stirredup controversy and thereby got a lot of attention from consumers. The purpose of this study was to investigate how factors like gender and age may affectconsumers impression of controversial advertisements, but also to investigate how controversial advertisements may affect consumers attitudes towards brands that have used advertisements that were deemed as controversial. Lastly, the study investigates the probability that consumers will spread word of mouth/electronicword of mouth about the brands. The study was conducted through a survey with standardized answers and the data was analyzed with a Chi2 test, bivariate correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The analysis indicated that women were more negative and less positive towards controversial advertisement than men were, atleastwithin the categories that were tested in the study. Furthermore, the study indicated that consumers attitudes towards a brand will be affected in the same way as the consumers impression of the controversial ad. Finally, results indicated that the probability for WOM is also affected in the same way as the consumers impression of the controversial advertisement.

"How Brand Activism Affects Consumer Attitude : A study on Swedish consumers’ attitudes towards companies using brand activism, with the Black Lives Matter movement as context." Thesis, Uppsala universitet, Företagsekonomiska institutionen, 2021. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:uu:diva-434884.
Texto completoThe Black Lives Matter movement engaged people both internationally and nationally in the spring of 2020. Companies were not late to join in and show their support in favour of the movement, which led to various reactions among their consumers. This study aims to examine the attitude of Swedish consumers towards companies that use brand activism as a response to social movements, where the Black Lives Matter movement serves as an empirical context. The study also intends to answer what the key aspects behind the studied consumer attitudes are. A prestudy has been done through netnography and empirical data has been collected for the main study through a web survey with 260 Swedish respondents. The study’s analysis and results indicate that the respondents’ general attitude towards the use of brand activism is positive in cases where the respondents believe that the social movement being endorsed is of importance. However, there are three dimensions that affect the overall attitude. These are authentic content, attitude towards the company and the value of actions. Within these dimensions several themes are identified, where the company’s history and size, the content of the message itself and that it permeates the organization are the most important. Furthermore, the themes of educational, genuine and actionable communication within brand activism are also important takeaways from the result.

Ekman, Vråmo Matilda, and Haglund Eveline Castillo. "Kan jämställdhet vara en möjlighet? : Hur användning av Femvertising påverkar varumärkesimage." Thesis, Linköpings universitet, Företagsekonomi, 2017. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-139071.
Texto completoBackground: The spreading of feminist messages and the celebration of women's diversity has led to the emergence of a new category of marketing called Femvertising. There is an uncertainty about how advertising that employs this category is perceived by consumers, making it interesting to investigate whether consumers' attitudes and associations connected with a brand are affected using Femvertising. Purpose: In this master thesis the relation between Femvertising and Brand Image is examined. The purpose of the study is to investigate how the perception of a Brand Image in terms of Brand Personality, brand attitude and attitude towards the ad is affected by exposure to Femvertising according to young consumers. Furthermore, an identification will be made of the differences between young male and female consumers regarding the mentioned subject. Method: The study is based on a quantitative method with a deductive approach, where the data collection took place in the form of an experiment with a subsequent survey. In order to answer the research questions, the collected data was processed in Excel and SPSS. Conclusion: The study has identified that the use of Femvertising leads to a Brand Image characterized by sincerity by young consumers. Young consumers have positive attitudes both to the advertisement and the brand, but the perception of a Brand Image cannot be expected to differ between young women and men when using Femvertising. Young women present more positive attitudes both towards the advertisement and the brand in comparison with young men, but it should be emphasized that Femvertising also has positive effects on brand image according to young men.
