AbstractThis study aims to examine students' perception of the term used to label cyberbullying, the perception of different forms and behaviours (written, verbal, visual, exclusion and impersonation) and the perception of the criteria used for its definition (imbalance of power, intention, repetition, anonymity and publicity) in three different European countries: Italy, Spain and Germany. Seventy adolescents took part in nine focus groups, using the same interview guide across countries. Thematic analysis focused on three main themes related to: (1) the term used to label cyberbullying, (2)

In 2017, Kumari and Om proposed an anonymous multi-server authenticated key agreement scheme, which is believed to be secure against a range of network attacks. Nevertheless, in this paper we reanalyze the security of their scheme, and show that the scheme is vulnerable to impersonation attack and server spoofing attack launched by any adversary without knowing any secret information of the victim users. While contemporary journalism does face complex problems, the chapter argues that we cannot account for controversies over unnamed sources solely through this frame. Such a perspective ignores the relationship between unnamed sources and the status needs of elite journalists and their news outlets. Resumen
A review of the literature reveals that current research has discovered that the severity of cyberbullying may be a result of the impact of many factors contributing to its prevalence and psychological and emotional effects on both cyberbullies and their victims. Most prominent among these factors include socio-demographic factors such as gender, age, socio-economic status, and the technology-related factor, anonymity. Despite the number of programs and legal procedures being implemented to manage and control cyberbullying, it continues to pose a problem among the youth. Further research is, therefore, needed to determine whether gender, age, socio-economic status, and the technology-related factor, anonymity, are interacting with each other in their impact on cyberbullying or whether other factors, not yet investigated, are interacting with the identified factors to cause the prevalence of cyberbullying.

The explosion of the internet has given rise to cybercrimes, online identity theft, and fraud. With the internet, these crimes are able to occur anywhere in the world and limitless to whatever selected target. The anonymity of the internet allows criminal activity to flourish, and the number of unsuspecting victims is growing. From script kiddies to nation-states, this new method of internet-enabled crimes has strained governments. This chapter provides insight into how crimes related to online identity theft and fraud are carried out. Examined within this chapter are the evolution of cybercrime, history of identity theft, applications for internet anonymity, and discussion on effects caused by romance scams and data breaches. Finally, recommendations are provided on what organizations and individuals can do to protect themselves against these vicious crimes.

This chapter provides an overview of online character assassination as it has evolved within a profusion of social media sites offering forums for uncensored airing of opinions. When opinions constitute political speech, they can be life-threatening. When opinions are commercial speech rating character and competence of professionals, digital defamation can threaten livelihood. In commercial arenas, victims often feel helpless to protect their reputations; however, some legal remedies may be available. This essay investigates the nature of abusive communication online, the role anonymity plays in digital attacks, and psychological characteristics associated with trolls and cyber-bullies. Case studies of individuals' efforts to defend themselves from online character assassination illustrate concepts discussed and strategies being used for online reputational self-defense.

Resumen
This research applies a social network perspective to the issue of cyber aggression, or cyberbullying, on the social media platform Twitter. Cyber aggression is particularly problematic because of its potential for anonymity, and the ease with which so many others can join the harassment of victims. Utilizing a comparative case study methodology, the authors examined thousands of Tweets to explore the use of denigrating slurs and insults contained in public tweets that target an individual's gender, race, or sexual orientation. Findings indicate cyber aggression on Twitter to be extensive and often extremely offensive, with the potential for serious, deleterious consequences for its victims. The study examined a sample of 84 aggressive networks on Twitter and visualize several social networks of communication patterns that emanate from an initial, aggressive tweet. The authors identify six social roles that users can assume in the network, noting differences in these roles by demographic category. Serious ethical concerns pertain to this technological, social problem.

Resumen
Given the lack of individualised corpses, how do Rwanda’s principal memorial sites-Nyamata, Nyarubuye and Murambi – function as commemorative grounds? Should each corpse be named to combat the facelessness with which genocidal perpetrators paint their victims? How do perceptions of the corpse shift with the endowment of individuality. There is the possibility that the resistance to discussing the corpse in studies of genocide and mass violence is the result of its being largely understood as inhering within a post-violence landscape, as a product of violence rather than representing violence itself. The chapter will examine a number of texts detailing the Rwandan genocide – both fictional and autobiographical – and the way in which they describe corpses of victims being literal parts of the landscape. Through literary depictions of the corpse by Jean Hatzfeld, Boubacar Boris Diop and Philip Gourevitch, this chapter will suggest that the significance of the corpse has shifted within national consciousness; while constantly being a symbol of death and a call to mourning, the corpse has, in spite of its anonymity at commemorative sites, become the means by which the Rwandan community have begun to come to terms with their loss.

Media pay considerable attention to episodes that involve children and adolescents and the internet. Usually, the excessive time spent on social networking sites is highlighted as the principal source of risk for cyberbullying as well as for the various types of cyber addictions that can develop. Anonymity is reported to be one of the principal factors that favor cyberbullying, whilst sexting and homophobia are indicated as being among the principal circumstances that bring victims to commit suicide. In this chapter, some relevant aspects of the use of social networking sites will be illustrated and some notions regarding how the internet works will be introduced. Other questions, such as the spread of cyber hate and online incivility will be discussed, and a case of the incautious use of Facebook by a higher public education institution will be reported. Many concepts highlighted here will be useful in the following chapters in which strategies for the prevention of cyberbullying will be considered.

Resumen
This chapter discusses what happens when, instead of co-existing, our online and offline worlds clash. In an age where the difference between virtual reality and real life becomes almost impossible to distinguish, a re-examination of core values and ethics becomes a necessity to ensure that human decency is not abandoned and that ethical standards become a core part of virtual public spheres. This chapter discusses a fundamental theme of modern human communication that involves a shift from traditional face-to-face interaction to one that is heavily mediated. Specifically, this chapter focuses on the role of different websites in providing a virtual public sphere, one exemplified by YouTube, where anonymity and immediacy greatly influence human communication in ways that may result in either fomenting greater divisions among societies and propagating a culture of carelessness and disregard for human rights, or one where human rights abuses are exposed, but victims’ identities are concealed and carefully protected.

Resumen
This chapter highlights the highly influential and evolving contribution of cyber activity across a range of harassing, threatening, stalking, and violent behavior. Multiple psychological factors (e.g., perceived anonymity and low-risk nature of activity) influence the negative impacts of cyber and electronic activity. It is strongly suggested that the de facto standard of practice emerges in that one cannot perform threat assessment and management without assessing the electronic activity by the subjects of concern. The omnipresence of cyber and electronic communications mandates that threat assessment and management cannot occur without a review of pertinent electronic activity and communications that are reasonably accessible. The research to date suggests that threat assessment professionals should focus on the pattern and nature, as opposed to the modality, of communications when assessing the risk entailed with threatening and harassing electronic communications. The nature and pattern of contacts must also be evaluated in the context of how the correspondence relates to other contact behaviors as part of a chain of events signaling intent from ideation to action. Among such factors are the presence of relevant content factors (e.g., personalized motive, expressing intent or plans to approach, language regarding justified violence, and rhetoric suggesting incitement of violence) as well as factors related to leakage of intent and intensity of effort. Implications for threat management, particularly related to the impact on victims, as well as strategies to help combat such online harassment or abuse are also discussed.
