Resumen
In this study, it was aimed to discuss the free reading activities (FRA) practised for 1 hour at 21 different Village Institutes in Turkey in pedagogical respects. In this regard, FRA, applied within the scope of an extra programme, was analysed in terms of content and method on the basis of cognitive and affective learning. When the findings of this research were evaluated, it was seen that raising literary readers is a part of the educational activities at the institute. The FRA is a programme design supporting the enrichment of intellectual, emotional, social and aesthetic developments. The main purpose of education in the village is the problem of selecting and preparing the books to be read during free reading hours in a well manner. The educators of the period implementing the FRAs created an original model of education appropriate to the social reality of the people and in accordance with their educational needs. Keywords: Free reading activities (FRAs), village institutes (VI), Turkish curricula, document review.

Resumen
This research evaluate on the Village Institutes experience in Turkey from the early 1940s to the 1950s. There is now a new interest in the organization and functioning of the “Village Institutes” which were in operation in Turkey. This study purpose is to describe how the Village Institutes were created, how they were organized and functioned, and what were the results of this experiment partly built on the precedent of the urban normal schools. Finally, a new theoretical interpretation is offered within a critique of existing, widely-held explanations that have dominated the theoretical literature on the issue for so long.

Resumen
The cleanliness drive most popularly known as “Swacch Bharat Mission” started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2nd October, 2014 to 2nd October, 2019 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Anniversary lays its foundation from Gandhi’s effort to eradicate the Untouchability and humiliation of Indians on account of their unhygienic lifestyle and poor sanitation habits. Receiving a negative feedback from white Europeans about Indians lifestyle, he observed, analyzed and accepted the views received by European’s, instead of defending them. Mahatma Gandhi motivated Indians to self-groom themselves to become capable to compete with white European’s, instead of fighting for Independence. Modi took over the drive in order to complete the incomplete task planned and furnished by Mahatma Gandhi. This drive is supported not only by each Indian citizen, but also by each educational institute, academic institutes, research institutes and many more. As a part of this program we also conducted a cleanliness drive in Daddu Majra colony, Chandigarh. The program begun while delivering talks to group of people of the colony highlighting the significance of cleanliness in day-today life of an individual as well as community. The role of community and collective effort of people in maintaining clean environment while practicing appropriate sanitation and hygienic conditions was discussed. The community was well motivated and inspired to work collectively for up liftment of their village area while maintaining proper surroundings, cleaning them regularly to prevent themselves from harmful diseases such as malaria and dengue. A special session was also conducted for Women in order to guide them to ensure proper disposal of their wastes during menstrual cycles and taking care of other hygienic practices during their periods. People were also motivated to spread awareness in their nearby developing villages and other rural areas and encouraging people to use proper toilets during disposal of their wastes. A well supportive behavior was shown by the community indicating the interest of community in amending their lifestyles by practicing appropriate hygienic practices.

Jatinangor district is currently known as an educational area due to the presence of several universities and national scale institutes such as UNPAD, ITB, IPDN, and IKOPIN. Cikeruh Village itself is one of eight villages located in Jatinangor, the existence of these universities which are very close to Cikeruh Village also influenced the social and economic development of Cikeruh Village. The people of Cikeruh Village have almost equal livelihoods in the entrepreneurship, agriculture, services and transportation sectors. Some of the products produced include snacks, namely dumpling chips, yogurt, and rengginang. Problems experienced by entrepreneurs are in the form of lack of knowledge and understanding as well as access to promote these products using social media resulting in sales that are made less than the maximum and the income of the community is not developing. Therefore, the entrepreneurial potential needs to be increased using digital-based marketing or through online media. Digital-based marketing using social media is one of the effective potential in promoting business quickly, easily, and cheaply. In this case, the local government can increase the entrepreneurial potential of the Cikeruh Village community through micro and cultural policies, the provision of supporting facilities, as well as providing education and knowledge to the community in collaboration with surrounding universities. The government also needs to pay attention to entrepreneurs in order to be able to use social media as a marketing medium so that it can expand the wider market which will ultimately help the economy of the Cikeruh Village community.

Resumen
The article is dedicated to the planning and development of the countryside in the 1920-1930s, both in the context of the rural social policy and in connection to the general orientation of Soviet town planning of this period. The idea of a "Model Cultural Village", which should've been shown to peasants as an example for imitation, was formed in the first post-revolutionary years. Depending on the changing construction policy of the State in the 1920-1930s, this idea was embodied in various projects, but all of them were far from the real situation in the countryside. In particular, attempts to create "exemplary" and then the "standard" projects of the planning of collective and state farm settlements, not based on the study of specific data, are considered. The article shows the birth of scientific approach to the individual rural design based on pre-project studies in the second half of the 1930s. Such an approach was developed by the institutes of communal hygiene, but it did not manage to develop before the World War II. The social life basis in the countryside was unsustainable, and in the pre-war years the state policy regarding the planning of the countryside became much more strict. The struggle with the so-called "extravagances" began. This trend was in contradiction with the slogan of "blurring the differences between urban areas and the countryside". The article shows the gradual simplification of the concept of "agrotown" - from agro-industrial plants, conceived in a big way in thelate 1920s, to a minimum equipping of the countryside. At the same time, the search for a visual image of the Soviet countryside was mainly reduced to competition projects of various "types" of clubs and community centers.

Resumen
ABSTRACTAlthough exact statistics are not available, Indian plastic surgeons see around 7,00,000-8,00,000 burn admissions annually with around 10,00,000 cleft patients yet to be operated. In spite of this voluminous load, India does not have national health programs for the various deformities Indian plastic surgeons typically treat. As Plastic Surgeons, it is our social responsibility to treat these patients and bring ′ muskan ′ (smile in Hindi) back into their lives. Project Muskan was initiated as an innovative model for targeting these patients and is probably one of its kind in the field of plastic surgery in our country. It is unique because it is a perfect collaboration of government institutions, a Non Government Organization (NGO), and cooperative sectors providing free health care at the doorstep. Identification of the patients was done with the help of the extensive milk dairy network in the state of Gujarat. Provision of transport and other facilities was done by the NGOs and quality health care provision was taken care of by the government hospital. Project Muskan started from a single village but now covers around 3000 villages and tribal areas of Gujarat. It is a system that can be easily reproducible in all hospitals and has reestablished the faith of the common man in government institutes.

Resumen
The aim of this research is to present an objective analysis, starting from the texts of the historical documents issued by the Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and Culture of the Romanian People (“ASTRA”) between 1939 and 1940 regarding the schools and the courses organized for young adult peasants in Transylvania. The study presents the events, transformations and challenges that “Astra” had to face while trying to maintain its specific forms of activity and cultural manifestation. During 2 or 3 months, particularly in winter season, the organization of such courses had the gift to breathe life into village, waking up the interest and the participation of local intellectuals, many of them being part of the education system, and to break up the villagers‘ habitual inertia. In accordance with “Astra” ‘s educational curricula, Romanian young students, women and men, were taught notions about: agriculture, pomiculture, apiculture, animal husbandry, household maintenance, orchard maintenance and cultivation, legal notions, cooperative businesses and credit unions, general information about personal hygiene, sexuality, puericulture, Romanian language and literature, Romanian history, mathematics, physics, chemistry, music, religion, ethical and moral values. The lecturers who delivered those classes were doctors, priests, engineers, agronomists, lawyers, notaries, professors, institutes, teachers, officers. These specific forms of cultural and educational emancipation of young adult peasants were undertaken by divisions of “Astra” in at least 34 villages and cities. According to the documents of the “Astra” fund at Sibiu County Service of the National Archives issued between August 1939 and August 1940, through their representatives in the territory and in collaboration with the local Agricultural Chambers or with their own local divisions, “Astra” organized 40 peasant schools and agricultural courses attended by approximately 1194 men and 390 women.

Resumen
Climate change is a natural phenomenon that has occurred at all levels of the continent or country, as well as specific location at sub-district level in relatively small area. Various weather and climate information services such as data afforded by government institutes, research institutes, and universities are far from the reach of farmers. This research aims to: study the influence of socio-economic factors, attitudes, access to communication media, needs and characteristics / nature of simultaneous or partial innovation toward farmers’ decision in Integrated Katam innovation. The location of the study was deliberately determined in Tegalrejo and Watugajah because the village received the Integrated Katam program in Gedang Sari Sub-district, Gunung Kidul. The sampling method was done randomly using proportional random sampling with 50 people. Multiple linear regression is used as the data analysis. The results showed that: (1) characteristics of respondent farmers in socioeconomic factors were classified as moderate, attitudes wre classified as neutral, access of communication media were infrequently utilized, social needs level and characteristic / nature of innovation were quite appropriate; (2) socio-economic factors, attitudes, needs, access to communication media and characteristics / nature of innovation simultaneously have significant effects on the adopted decision of Integrated Katam innovation; (3) socioe-conomic factors, attitudes, needs and characteristics / nature of innovation have significant effects on decision to adopt innovation Integrated Katam partially while communication media access was not significant; (4) Decision making adoption of Integrated Katam innovation in Gedang Sari was moderate

Resumen
After the main shocks of the 2002 Molise, Italy, earthquake sequence, the University of Genoa Geophysical Section (Dip. Te. Ris) installed a temporary seismic network, composed of two velocimetric and two accelerometric stations, in the village of Ripabottoni (Campobasso Province), near the epicentral area. These stations were implemented in the regional network of seismic instruments installed after November 1 by geophysical institutes from Rome and Trieste, Italy. The network registered more than 2,000 aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 1.0–4.0. A DISEG Group also participated in a survey coordinated by the Larino Emergency Operations Center to examine damaged churches. The preliminary data, which correlates the waveform of the available recordings from aftershocks with damaged masonry pillars, indicates that the damage may relate not only to the intrinsic vulnerability of this building type, but also to the high energy in the high frequency range observed in the vertical component of the earthquakes.

Resumen
Despite economic development and social improvements, millions of family farmers in Ethiopia are still struggling with food insecurity. Lack of technology adoption by family farmers is often considered as the root cause for low agricultural productivity and persistence of food insecurity. Based on a study of family farms in southwestern Ethiopia, we show the complex nexus between family farming, food insecurity, and agricultural productivity. We collected qualitative and quantitative data through 300 sample household interviews; expert interviews with elders and village chairmen, agricultural extension agents, farmers’ cooperative heads, as well as experts in NGOs, research institutes, and state agencies; and on-farm observations with in-depth interviews and discussions with individual farmers. Our findings illustrate that everyday experiences, culture, knowledge, and priorities of farmers coupled with ecological and political factors play crucial roles—and need more consideration than the classic ‘lack of technology’ theorem.

Resumen
This study aimed at establishing the relationship between selected psychological factors and female students’ choice of career in science TVET in technical training institutes in Siaya County, Kenya. Social Cognitive Theory postulated by Bandura (1986), and Holland's Theory of Occupational Choice (1959, revised 2017) guided the research. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. It is based on the conceptual framework whereby the choice of careers in TVET by female students is assumed to depend on social-cultural, economic, psychological and institutional context factors. The test-retest method was used to test the reliability of the instruments. Cronbach alpha method was also used to test internal reliability. The research instruments were questionnaires for lecturers, female and male students. Piloting was done in the village polytechnics. The sample size was 316 female students sampled using census method. In addition, 291 male students from a total target population of 1136 determined using Krejcie and Morgan Table of Sample Size Determination (1970). Proportionate sampling technique was used to sample respondents in different strata and TTIs. Tools in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22 were used to analyse data. Frequencies, percentages and means were computed. Inferential statistics, namely; regression coefficients, T-statistics, F-statistics, correlation of coefficients, were derived. The findings were presented in tables. Further, a negative and non-significant relationship between psychological factors and female students’ career choice in science TVET Programmes (r=- -0.163*; p<0.01) was established. The researcher recommends that principals should institute measures for changing students’ attitudes towards TVET courses.

Resumen
The paper intends to deal with the plight of Dalits and their miserable condition in Jai Prakash Kardam's Hindi novel Chappar first published in 1994. The book highlights the social disparity and discrimination faced by Dalits, whether rural or urban. The still existing feudalism in Indian villages compels Dalits to abide by social norms framed in the interest of the landlords, Brahmins or the dominants. The entrenched caste system deprives Dalits to access educational institutes. They are denied even to touch scriptures as they have been reserved for upper castes only. The novel also exposes the cruel treatment of powerful, bureaucrats, policemen and politicians toward Dalits. The Ambedkarite ideology ignites the radical minds of Dalit youths in setting out a movement of liberation and emancipation which is the base of the book. 'Dalit women', the phrase narrates endless horrible incidents in the lives of Dalit women as they are raped, gang-raped, harassed, humiliated, abandoned or even forced to commit suicide or live a life of curse in their own land. The author has raised all these serious issues confronted by Dalits in a small village setting along with various other social problems in urban areas. The present paper attempts to explore the horrible narratives, incidents and challenges through the extensive reading of the characters and their actions. How they achieve their target of egalitarian society? Who and what are the forces behind the struggle against the dominants besides the community? Do the Dalit women accept their fate of curse passively or dare to challenge the self-proclaimed authorities?

Resumen
The two most notable forms of law in the Ming and Qing periods were state law and private contracts. They were thought to exist separately, as the saying went: “The state has laws while individuals have private contracts.” Scholars have also held the same view; they have contrasted the two, defining the former as vertical, authoritative and a political tool to govern the state, and the latter as horizontal, voluntary and a tool to regulate economic activities of individuals. Social agreements that were instituted in order to maintain order in villages, however, had characteristics of both; on one hand they were contracts drawn up voluntarily by the villagers, but on the other hand, they also had the aspect of commands given by village leaders for ordinary members to observe. The opening section looks at studies that have been made on written law and private contracts. The following section examines how village compacts were instituted and how they were enforced. Three types of village compact are examined – village regulations, village compacts based on the Confucian moral code, and alliances connected with rent-resistance movements. Part Two will discuss the nature of coercive commands and voluntary contracts, both of which commonly coexisted in a unique mixture in village compacts, and will then expand the conclusion drawn from the discussion above to the level of the state, to present a new framework for understanding the relationship between statutory law and private contracts, and that between state authority and social power.

Resumen
In the 1960’s–1970’s, the development of regional historical science took place, which reflected the General trend for the country. During this period, changes were made to the concept of the development of socialist society, which caused the transition to universal secondary education. This transition required the training of teachers of history and social Sciences, which was entrusted to pedagogical institutes. The result was changes in the content of training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in the region. During these years, Samosudov's scientific and managerial career developed. Based on the memoirs of colleagues, materials of archival collections, personal impressions, the author comes to the conclusion that the doctor of historical Sciences, Professor, member of the CPSU, rector of the OSPI named after M. Gorky was a major historian — the Creator of the scientific school. He was a man of his time: a witness to the socialist transformation of the village, a participant in the war, an organizer of education in the region. About how his attitude to society changed during the transformations in the state, reports the test of the presented article

Resumen
BACKGROUND: Ischemic stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide. Recent studies have observed that some physiological factors play a pivotal role in determining stroke severity, which can be assessed using the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score. Hydration status is one of the most frequently studied physiological factors and can be evaluated by measuring plasma osmolarity levels. However, studies regarding the association between plasma osmolarity and stroke severity remain scarce. AIM: This study aimed to investigate the association between increased blood plasma osmolarity levels and the NIHSS scores in patients with acute ischemic stroke. METHODS: This cross-sectional study obtained medical records of subjects aged 18–80 years old who were diagnosed with their first acute ischemic stroke from January to March 2021 at the Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village Tangerang in Indonesia. RESULTS: The NIHSS scores of patients with acute ischemic stroke were observed to have a moderate positive correlation with plasma osmolarity (p = 0.004, r = 0.309). Patients with an elevated plasma osmolarity had higher NIHSS scores than those with normal levels of plasma osmolarity (8.52 ± 5.01 vs. 6.03 ± 3.72). CONCLUSIONS: Higher levels of plasma osmolarity among acute ischemic stroke subjects correlated positively with increased NIHSS scores on admission.

Resumen
Europe of the interwar years witnessed the rise of agrarian populism in several countries. In a sense, something in the “spirit of the age” paved the way for the rise of agrarian ideologies throughout the world. The impact of the Great Depression also played a role in the rise of this phenomenon, since urbanization, industrialization, and liberalism increasingly were seen as responsible for this global economic catastrophe. Turkey of the 1930s and afterward witnessed the rise of such a populism, with an emphasis on the cult of the peasant as one of the most important intellectual motifs of cultural and political discourse. As a matter of fact, agrarian populism, or the so-calledköycülük(peasantism), as it was referred to in Turkish, was one of the most important constituent elements of Kemalist populism from the early 1930s through the end of World War II. In this period, the state devised cultural and practical projects for an ideological campaign emphasizing the significance of improving the social and economic conditions of the peasantry. For this reason, in the Turkish press, many wrote aboutköycülük,and official and semiofficial state institutions such as People’s Houses organized peasantist (köycü) activities throughout the country. The impact of such an intellectual campaign could be seen in some of the most important undertakings of the single-party regime, such as the establishment of the Village Institutes and the land-reform attempts.

During this time for ablution in mosque, villagers only rely on water from mountain springs whose distribution relies on gravitational pressure through a plastic hose and accommodated in a large tub located beside the mosque. In addition to being used for ablution, water is also used by villagers to bathing, washing, etc., so that when used for ablution sometimes it is no longer clean because it has been mixed with soapy water used for bathing and washing. Based on those problems, our team provided solution to partner in the form of infrastructure development and clean water supply by reconfiguring the clean water distribution installation for ablution in the mosque by installing solar water pump. The method used in the implementation of this Community Service activity is to approach the villagers during the survey through interviews by providing solution to the problem and conducting questionnaires and socialization in the form of a brief education. The results of the activities have been done by installing 2 units of DC water pump @180 Watt, 4 units of polycrystalline solar modules @100 Wp, 2 units of battery @100 Ah 12 V and 2 units of solar charge controller. With the implementation of Community Service activities in Sukadana village, aside from being able to help overcome the problems faced by partner, besides that it can provide progress and development of infrastructure for partner village and the existence of a partnership that makes that village as IT PLN assisted village.

Resumen
AbstractEconomic inequality has increased greatly in China since the end of state socialist industry and collective agriculture, but the story of inequality is much more complex than just the rural–urban and coastal–inland dichotomies or the relative contributions of inter-regional and intra-regional inequality. Even within inland rural areas, inequality between villages and within villages has also increased greatly. In 2005–06, we were fortunate to be able to work with the Sichuan Nationalities Research Institute to re-survey 90 per cent of 300 families in three villages that we had originally surveyed in 1988. On the basis of these surveys and of ethnographic information, we found that income inequality had increased quite dramatically in all three villages. In structural terms, the primary reason for this increase was the shift from labour power to small-scale capital as the primary source of family income, a shift that occurred differently in each village.

Resumen
The Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP) carried out a longitudinal study of the effects of nutritional improvements on growth and development in early childhood in four villages in eastern Guatemala, 1969–1977, with a preparatory survey in 1967 and a follow-up study of the participants in 19881989. This paper examines differences among the four villages in education, occupation, quality of housing, and demographic profiles over a 20-year period, focusing on comparisons between the two villages that received a high-energy, high-protein supplement and the two that received a low-energy supplement at two different times: before the initial longitudinal study and before the follow-up study. The results suggest gradual improvement in all the villages on a number of indicators. However, the two pairs of village were not comparable on all measures; of particular concern for the interpretation of effects on cognitive development are differences in education.

Resumen
The sustainable energy goals are vectors for universal access to affordable, sustainable and modern energy for all. The aim of this work is to study the structure of the world energy supply, including Russia, and the role of energy cooperatives abroad in the past and present on energy supply to agriculture and rural areas, and the possibility of applying their experience in the Russian economy. The authors used observation, abstraction, analysis and synthesis, as well as dialectical and logical methods. Having studied the data of domestic and foreign statistical institutes, the authors came to the conclusion that non-renewable energy sources make up the largest share in the world. In addition to the economical use and efficient conversion of fossil raw materials, the focus is increasingly shifting to the use of renewable energy sources that reduce dependence on oil and gas, in particular in countries that do not have their own reserves, and therefore ensure sustainable energy production. At the same time, the global energy transition to energy resources, which will be available to all, can be carried out with the help of energy cooperatives. In Russia, the capacity of renewable energy facilities is also constantly growing. The peculiarity of the country is the need to transfer energy over long distances with significant wear of transmission networks, a deep monopoly of the market, and, consequently, high tariffs for consumers. One of the ways to solve the problems of affordable energy availability for agriculture, the authors see the creation of energy cooperatives. In the article the approximate model of energy cooperative is offered, their classification is given. The results of the study will help to create competition in the energy market, optimize the budgets of the village and reduce costs in the process of commodity circulation of agricultural products to the final consumer.
