This thesis presents a translation of selected texts and excersises concerning voice work shaped by Patsy Rodenburg. Rodenburg is a reknown voice coach and lecturer. The author of this thesis compares Rodenburg's approach, which she got acquainted with during her four-month stay at Regent's University in London in 2013, with an approach taught at the Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. This thesis is an attempt to combine different approaches to voice work into a holistic methodology, as the author describes her own experience in this field - both as a student and a lecturer.

The master thesis "Parents and marketing forms targeted at children: awareness, attitudes and educational approaches" describes marketing and advertisement methods that aims towards children and also parental perception of these methods. The children's segment is quite popular in the marketing industry, mainly because young consumption behaviour is easily affected. Parents play a big role in influencing children's perception, which is why I chose to focus on parents as well. Parents need to know about these advertisement and marketing's forms if they want to influence their children in a correct way. The theoretical part of the thesis describes characteristics of media education in the family, marketing forms aimed on children, approaches and strategies of parents in media education and also the reaction of children to the given advertising forms. The practical part discusses the description of the chosen research technique, namely qualitative research consisting of semi-structured in-depth interviews. The aim of these in-depth interviews was to find out the level of orientation of preschool children in the child-targeted marketing forms. The thesis focuses on social and psychological situation in a family with a child with combined disabilities, starting with the birth of the child and following reactions of the parents, family and society to this new situation. The thesis deals with different problems in the area of decision making in further possible steps concerning the child care and also with the way how to deal with given problems. The aim is to point to the parents who have a child with combined disability and to illustrate their situation from the beginning, showing how they cope with the situation. The practical part contains a research which is based on the questionnaire filled in by parents who have a child with combined disability. The questionnaire focuses above all on the parents, their situation and the change of their lives after the birth of their child, partnership, environment, help and other organizations that frequent the parents and their children.

Diplomová práce se zabývá současnou podobou rodiny, jejími hodnotami, výchovnými přístupy, formami vzájemné komunikace, rodinného uspořádání a jejím vlivem na život a chování dítěte. Teoretická část vychází z odborné literatury věnující se oblastem rodinného života, dítěti a výchově. Postupně jsou v ní zpracována jednotlivá témata, která s rodinou a výchovou souvisejí (typy rodiny, funkce rodiny, výchovné styly atd.) Výzkumná část byla založena na kvalitativním přístupu, v jehož rámci byla provedena případová studie tří rodin s dětmi. Každá ze studií je podrobně rozpracována a odhaluje zákonitosti života a výchovných přístupů v současné rodině. Z výsledků této studie vyplývá, že současní rodiče dávají přednost demokratickému až liberálnímu stylu výchovy, který je mnohem náročnější, než po staletí užívaný autoritativní přístup. A že větší výchovný úspěch přijde pravděpodobně tam, kde je v rodině emocionálně pozitivní prostředí, rodiče jsou starostliví a stanovují jasná pravidla. Die Diplomarbeit wird wie die Fallstudie gemeint, wann das Thema Erziehungs und theraphetischer Zugang zu den Suchtkranken ist. Mein Ziel ist, übersichtig zu informieren, wie und wo das in Praxis bei uns und in der Schweiz funktioniert. Die Arbeit wird in zwei Teile geteilt. In dem theoretischen Teil werden die Problematik und Geschichte der Betreuung für Drogenabhängigen, besonders abhängigen von Opioide, allgemeine Eigenschaft heutiger selbsthilfigen Institutionen bei uns (SANANIM), Sozialsituation der Klienten und ihrer Familien in der Tschehchischen Republik und Arbeitsmethoden im Vergleich mit der Schweiz (Zürich), die modern und liberal in dieser Problematik ist. In dem theoretischen Teil wird auch die Legislative entwerft. In dem praktischen Teil habe ich die Methode von dem Gespräch und der Beobachtung gewählt. Ich möchte mich nicht nur an Klient, sondern auch an die Familie und psychisch-sozial Auswirkung orientieren. Ich möchte des Praktikums in SANANIM ausnützen. Mit meiner Arbeit versuche ich die Situation verbessern, die in Praxis in grösseren Städten entdeckt und ich möchte mich von den modernen und efektiven Zugänge anderes Landes inspirieren zu lassen.

This thesis looks into evidence-based character education as it is researched and applied in the Anglo-Saxon countries, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom, as a parallel to Personal and Social Education in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to provide an overview of scientifically studied approaches to the development of human character, inclusive of efficient means of their dissemination. The first part of the thesis includes definition of terms, philosophical and historical foundations of character education, description and classification of character strengths, and their effects on human flourishing. Based on analysis of available sources, the next part of the thesis presents empirically tested examples of best practices being applied in families, schools, and other organizations. It is followed by a part describing certain problems which character education is currently facing and finally a summary of possible solutions. It becomes apparent that character needs to be approached in its entirety with focus aimed toward harmonious development of a wide range of character strengths. The purpose of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the drug addiction problems, specifically the educational-curative approaches to drug users with a focus on lowthreshold programs. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical basis and practical part. The theoretical part includes four chapters. In the first chapter we can find the definition of the drug addiction concept according to the International Classification of Diseases (MKN-10) and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV). The theoretical models of addiction and theoretical approaches used in assistance to drug users are described in this chapter as well. There is also focus on approaches used in psychotherapy of drug addictions. The second chapter gives an overview of the care system in the filed of drug addictions in the Czech Republic. Chapter number three summarizes the drug situation in the Czech Republic in 2007. The fourth part is devoted to low-threshold programs and focusing on approaches and methods of work of these programs. The last chapter is based on the practical research. The aim of this diploma thesis, which is entitled "Media Education in schools - critical-analytic or production approach", is to map the current state of practice of media education in a sample of secondary schools (gymnasiums) in central Bohemia. Our goal is to provide readers with broader theoretical insight into the concept of media literacy (as a goal of any media education), to capture a brief history of development of the perspective on the role of media education, as well as to examine how media education is incorporated within the Czech system of secondary education, and also to reflect on its possible forms of implementation. Last but not least, the intent of the thesis is to describe two basic approaches to media education, both of which are directed to development of media literacy. Our research led by a combination of questionnaires and interviews with educators suppose to be used as a tool that should help us to bridge the theory with an image of factual practice. The research part primarily aims to provide insight into framework of the current practice of teaching media education in secondary schools in central Bohemia, and through interpretation of the main remarks points to (at least) basic issues which teachers of media education must deal with.

Title: Approaches to cultivation of game performance in sports games in school physical education education. Objectives: The main aim of this work is to compare ways of teaching sports games in physical education lessons at the second stage of primary school. In this comparison we will focus on the impact of these ways of teaching with respect to team gaming performance. Methods: In this work, we used video analysis, from which we derived quantitative and comparative analysis of qualitative findings. We compared the individual results on the basis of the method of teaching used in class. Results: From a comparison of groups undergoing technical and tactical approaches to teaching sports games, we found that groups undergoing tactical approaches to teaching improved more in team performance in goal sports games. This work deals with the subject of drug addicted pregnant women and mothers. It analyses in detail the influence of drug abuse during the pregnancy on the mother and featus and on parenting and the development differences of children born to drug addicted parents. The description of individual programs offered in Prague and neighbourghood by non-profit organizations DROP IN o.p.s. and Sananim o.s for mothers with children follows. Thesis title: Comparison of education strategies for children with autistic spectrum disorders in the Czech Republic and England Thesis aim: Comparison of special education teaching strategies for students with autistic spectrum disorders in the Czech Republic and England Method: Comparison of two selected institutions providing special education for students with autistic spectrum disorders. Defining categories to select suitable school establishments were symptomatology of autism in all students and school specialisation. Selected key subjects to compare were education system organisation, teaching strategies, capacity, funding, staffing and the approach to physical education. Subjects of research were examined using the information gained from direct observation, discussions with teachers and their assistants, parents, management and other departements of both establishments, consultations with experts in the field of special needs education and also informartion gained from studying available documents. Possibilities of multicultural approaches in kindergarten work. This thesis focuses on multicultural education and the possibilities of use in kindergartens in Cheb, where the teachers very often encounter children of other nationalities, in particular with children of Vietnamese parents coming to the Karlovy Vary region to pursue their business activities in this border region. The theoretical part highlights the increasing number of immigrants in the Czech Republic. The thesis explains the terminology relating to multicultural education and it also emphasizes its links with the Framework Education Programme and classroom education programmes. It places emphasis on the preparedness of teachers for multicultural education as well as their preparedness in the domain of child speech development and possibilities of helping children of different nationalities with learning Czech language. The practical part points out the focus on developing vocabulary and communication skills as one of the possibilities of multicultural approach of teachers and kindergartens. In addition, it presents the results of a pedagogical survey related to Vietnamese parents and their attitude to the need of learning Czech language by their children.

The thesis brings out and analyse pedagogy approach to the education by the experience. The theoretical part characterizes basic concepts of the education and the upbringing, experience pedagogy and its parts. The thesis describes historical evolution of experience pedagogy and analyses the basement of pedagogical approach to the experience education. The thesis provides the summary of activities of experience pedagogy that can be used at school during leisure time. The practical part contains the probe of using experience pedagogy activities at schools during the leisure time. The skiing courses were selected for the probe. Teachers in all three courses used the principals of experience pedagogy but their procedures are not well processed according to unfamiliarity with experience pedagogy. The strongest weakness arose at the feedback phase. I researched that the vocational knowledge is essential for children education though positive pedagogical approach. The personality of the teacher is significant point of view because the personality of the teacher is the basement for everything else. According to my research I presume that experience pedagogy approach has great value and will be used more for the education and the upbringing of children and the youth.

Research shows that being in nature is important for children's health and psychosocial and physical development. Outdoor education can significantly improve the quality and meaningfulness of learning, contribute to the teachers' and pupils' well-being and help to build a positive attitude towards nature. However, learning outside the school building is rather an exception in the Czech Republic and has not yet received much attention here. On the contrary, Norway is specific in its attitude to outdoor recreation and outdoor education. The purpose of this paper is to present Norwegian approach to outdoor education in primary schools. The theoretical chapters describe the issue of outdoor education in general with a specific focus on the Czech tradition and discourse, the Norwegian education system and the local situation of outdoor education. This part is followed by a qualitative research carried out in the Bodø district in northern Norway. The main method of data acquisition were interviews with teachers from seven local primary schools. The research describes the teachers' concept of outdoor education and answers the question of where the sources of support for outdoor education in Norway are.

My diploma thesis called Approaches in the Education of Roma Children in Christian School in Jihlava comprises both theoretical pieces of knowledge relating to issues of Roma children education and, furthermore, a qualitative research part. The primary goal of my thesis is to identify Roma pupil internal opinion of education procedure. As partial goals I set myself the comparison of this point of view with a particular grade (at the first and the second stage) and, also, to ascertain if there is a difference between pupil´s and teacher´s view. All information necessary for my diploma thesis research part were acquired by the qualitative research method, semi-structured interview technique with Roma pupil at the first and the second stage of the basic school, and the pedagogical staff.

This thesis deals with the generational shift in women's attitudes towards the upbringing of their own children in the early 21st century. The aim of this thesis is to determine how today's generation of mothers reflects the upbringing of their parents, reflection of their own experience with upbringing and whether that leads to some inter- generational shift or change within the approach itself. Possible causes and influences of shifts and changes are discussed. To achieve this goal a qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with women - mothers was conducted. The research shows that in fact shifts in these approaches actually occur and that the main criterion is a reflection of one's own childhood in particular, reflection of one's parents and reflection of the current relationship with one's parents.

The thesis concentrates on Approaches of youth drop-in centers and outreach services towards xenophobia and racism among teenagers. It deals with topics, such as xenophobia, racism, situation of Czech society concerning these two issues and the legal view point towards it. It describes the period of growing up, what features and reasons of xenophobia and racism appear among the teenage group. It characterizes a growing up person as a user of social services. The thesis describes inspirational approaches of multicultural education heading towards development of tolerance, possibilities of education and approaches to xenophobia and racism of various organizations. Further on, it gives a number of examples of experiences from several other European countries. It introduces social services of youth drop-in centers and outreach services. It mainly deals with approaches of both services towards working with teenage clients who show signs of xenophobia and racism. In this Master Thesis, I inquire into pedagogical approach towards a child with ADHD syndrome. I focus on one specific child that I previously worked with. I consider this personal experience as valuable and uncommon. That is reason I would like to express the gravity of pedagogical approach towards an ADHD child. The research problem originates from my own practice and a direct confrontation with the child. In the theoretical part, I deal with the problematics of ADHD syndrome. I focus on the causes of development and effects of the syndrome on the life of the child. I also focus on establishing a diagnosis of ADHD, and on its treatment. I dedicate one chapter on rearing and methods of rearing according to Zdenek Matejcka, a child psychologist. I describe inclusive education in relation to ADHD pupils, based on the current state of Czech school system. The practical part is dedicated to the research of my work. I specify my research design and method. I apply methods of observation, interviews, and describe their results. Moreover, I deal with the results of interviews with pedagogical assistants and with pedagogues that worked or still work with the ADHD pupil. Results of the observations and other methods of data collection that I name in the methodology part form a basis of the research problem of this work.

The work looks at EU's development policy through the lens of one of integration theories, namely multi-level governance. The relationship between the EU and three countries from ACP group, Rwanda, Haiti and East Timor is being analysed. From current trends of multi-level governance the research is focusing on the process of strengthening of supranational level and on advancing regionalization, understood in terms of regional integration on one side and the transfer of powers to lower administrative units or local emancipation. The work is inspired by the idea of the author Martin Holland that integration theories are better observable on EU's development policy than on EU's integration itself. Using the comparison of official EU's declarations over development cooperation with ACP group and real agenda implemented in those countries, the work investigates EU's involvement during penetration of surveyed countries into transnational structures, into regional coalitions and the promotion of emancipation of lower administrative units in the country. The research aims to analyze bonds formed between the European Union and Rwanda, Haiti and East Timor, which, according to Martin Holland, the concept of multi-level governance should best describe.

This thesis deals with the problems concerning cross-curricular subjects, in particular focusing on Multicultural Education and Moral, Character and Social Education, their defining in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Furthermore, it outlines the possibility of their interconnection in a concrete project with the topic of Romany. This thesis is based on the conviction of the importance of the transcultural approach to the Multicultural education in practise. It also deals with the character of a teacher mainly in the relation to the above mentioned cross-curricular subjects. The main objective of this thesis is the actual realisation of the project in two selected schools. The project has already been put forward in my bachelor thesis. I committed myself there to the realisation of the project in practise and for that purpose the project itself had to be adjusted, namely shortened due to its time demandingness. The actual evaluation of the project is also a part of the practical section of this thesis.

Diploma thesis named "Communication between teacher and pupils at a primary school" considers adults attitude to children, specifically teachers attitude to pupils. It describes the development of attitude to children as an important factor which shapes educational attitude to children in a context of current changes in child education. The thesis defines two basic attitudes - the collegial and authoritarian. It provides information on components allowing an effective reception of information, which is neccessary to understand the meaningfulness of the collegial attitude. It characterizes effective and ineffective communicational skills that can be found in these educational attitudes. The practical part is an action research that maps abilities and skills of starting teacher which follow the colegial educational attitude in practice. It tries to assess the success rate of attempts of using the collegial attitude in teaching, which is being done through observation, self-reflection, observation of other pedagogues and getting feedback from them.

Magdalena Hajná This diploma thesis presents results of examining the possibility of integration of subjects of "Art education" and "Health Education" at the lower secondary level of education. The result is a project of linking the selected subjects into the education curriculum for the sixth year of elementary school. In a theoretical part, I focused on the brief history and the present of education fields of Health Education and Art Education. I outlined its basic characteristics; I summarized important starting points for their integration and I outlined the common goals and contents. I have used weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis made in a specific studied school in Prague to specify and refine focus and form of this thesis. The thesis follows the development of the methodology of left-handers's writing, teacher's usage of the knowledge of methodology in a practice, researching the materials aimed in left- handness dedicated to teachers and parents, describing statements and opinions of the concrete primary teachers on left-hander's methodology. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the empiric part. In the therotical part there are defined terms laterality and dominance, the development of the methodology of left-hander's writing since the year 1967 when this type of writing was legalised in the Czech Republic. The possibilities of getting information about the problematic of left-handness are summed, including books and trainings for primary school teachers. Finally, available equipment for left-handers is introduced. The research combines two methods - questionnaire and interview. The quantitative research is supposed to come up with the concrete percentage of left-handed pupils and with the general knowledge of teachers connected with methodology of left-hander's writing. This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the parents' point of view on the individual contacts of the family and the school. The theoretical part presents the history of the relationship development between the family and the school, the functions of socializations and competences of these institutions and the forms of contact between the family and the school with the emphasis on a specific form, so called tutorial system, based on building a confidential, open parent-child relationship and which is intended to enable educational co-operation in the upbringing of a child. The focus of this thesis is on its empirical part, realized within the qualitative methodological approach. With the help of semi-structured interviews with parents, the parents' point of view on the role and competences of the school in the educational process of the child were studied, as well as the way parents perceive a tutorial system of communication with the school. The research results suggest that parents perceive the involvement of the school in the area of childcare ambivalently, and that despite the noted positives, tutoring meetings are problematic for parents, mainly because of the unclear determination of boundaries and the definition of roles in them. This thesis presents the link between the environment and Foreign Language Teaching (FLT) based on ecolinguistics, which defines the inextricability of the environment and language. The specific aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the importance of an ecolinguistic approach to FLT with an ecocritical discourse analysis of textbooks use to teach French as a foreign language. Using the ecolinguistic tool The Stories We Live by, the analysis aims to assess the extent to which the textbooks stimulate environmental awareness and ecological communicative competence. The research concerns two textbooks, Totem and Saison, and investigates the representation of the stories and their polarity from the perspective of deep ecology. The results show the textbooks to exhibit a general tendency towards ambivalent content. Moreover, the presence of explicit ecological reference in the content was evaluated and revealed, by the analysis, to be under-represented in the textbooks' content. The analyses are presented as model analyses for an ecolinguistic evaluation of textbooks, which could be used by teachers seeking an ecologically conscious textbook. This diploma thesis deals with teaching English to children with specific learning disabilities and educational problems. The theoretical part describes the most frequent educational problems of children and adolescents. Further attention is paid to the problems of specific learning difficulties, the causes of their origin and their manifestations in teaching English at middle school. Finally, the thesis deals with the methodological principles for foreign language teaching of children with specific learning disabilities. The research part is based on the case studies of children placed in specialized facilities due to their educational problems. I participated in individual assistance to two concrete children and I worked out case studies based on our cooperation. The aim of the empirical part is to choose a suitable individual approach to two concrete children, realize it, and reflect it in depth.

The presented work deals with social-pedagogy approaches in the issue-based youth work centres. The first part attends to the analysis of the idea {\clqq}unattached youth``. It takes aspect of the lifestyle sociology, the social education and the developmental psychology. The viewed group of the unattached youth is presented as a group of the adolescents; they have problems with the coping strategies in the post-modern society. The second part of the work takes their problems as a starting-point for the next reflec-tion. It determines criteria of the effective youth work dealing with the unattached youth. Finally the third applied part evaluates the four current types of the issue-based youth work: the German open youth work (Offene Kinder- und Jugendarbeit), the British youth work, the Czech issue-based youth work centres and the Czech open youth centres. The evaluation is focused on the criteria of the effective youth work dealing with the unat-tached youth; we derived in the second part. Overall the main aim of this work is to point out the effective issue-based youth work has to take into account the social and developmental needs of the target group.

ABSTRACT: The thesis compares two different views on education presented in the children's and youth literature in the first and second half of the 20th century with the help of selected works. The first focus is on Erich Kästner, as a representative of the pre-war generation, and his novels Emil und die Detektive (1929) and Das fliegende Klassenzimmer (1933). The second author is the Austrian writer Christine Nöstlinger, who began her literary action in 70s of the 20th century. From her were chosen the books Der Spatz in der Hand (1974) and Das Austauschkind (1982). All novels are analyzed with respect to their educational content and compared to the intentions of the author. The conclusion of the thesis will be a comparison between the different attitudes of the authors. This master thesis focuses on atopic eczema in children and adolescents from a psychological perspective. The aim of this text is to describe and emphasize the psychological aspects of this disease and characterize the areas it may concern and affect. Regarding the structure, the thesis is divided into three parts. The introductory theoretical part is focused on a description of the explored subject-matter, the aim was to submit a comprehensive perspective on this disease and outline a relevant psychological basis for the empirical enquiry. The second empirical part is focused on the intrinsic aspects of the experience of this disease in children and adolescents. The quantitative research was designed to map out the specific phenomena, incidence of depressive symptoms and family upbringing style. The quantitative research is complemented by a qualitative inquiry with the aim to get further into depth of the issue by means of two case studies. These were focused on the overall experience related to the diagnosis of atopic eczema. The final part reflects acquired findings and the conclusive discussion summarizes the results of the exploratory assumptions including the limits and the possibilities of future psychological work with this disease. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the teaching profession in primary schools of art in the 21st century in the context of curricular reform. It addresses not only the readiness of teachers to changes that the curriculum documents bring, but at the same time solves position management (role of directors) in this process. Concretizes the development of the teaching profession from the perspective of management in art schools. How I am becoming a teacher? Searching for professional identity Is the development of a professional identity in students in the teacher training program at the PedF UK based on similar foundation as the professional identity of the students at the Detroit Teacher Program? How much is this professional identity influenced by the city and social situation in which those students are living and studying? Is the discourse that is used by both sides similar or different? A comparison of related narratives, concepts and metaphors will be done. What is the role attributed to art disciplines in the teacher training curriculum in both countries? A case study will explore all of these issues, and will be based on an analysis and reflecting on of videos which were created as part of the project, "How I Am Becoming a Teacher", as well as curriculum documents and other related documents. Resumen
The work concerns with media enviroment and life style of children from the children's homes. The empirical part is based on theoretical part and it explores their media habits, media access, media owning and parent mediation. This work compares a sample of 48 children from children's homes and a sample of 62 children who live in a family. Quantitative research is supplemented with qualitative research in a form of semistructured interviews with tutors in six children's homes and with mass discusion with children in one of them. The main aim of the work is to approach which role do media play in every day life of the children from the children home's. Comparative research answers the main question: Are media habits of the children from the children's homes different from the habits of the children from families and which strategy of the parental mediation is supreme and how the mediation differs from the mediation in the families.

Institute of Political Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences This dissertation discusses the current and future role of China in the 21st century. I worked with the idea to prepare a systematically detailed analytical study of the country in relation to its surroundings as well as its internal environment for more than 8 years, including many interruptions. I, above all, contemplated about the way how to truly scientifically, i.e. credibly, it means in the maximum possible the limits of verifiability, develop a full work that could hold up to the colleagues from the scientific community and myself. It is logical it was and is my attempt to allow minimal possibility of any criticism of this work for its formal, content, or other deficiencies.
