The article reviews the monograph of Lilia Ivanevich, which examines the regional and local specifics of the traditional costume of Ukrainians of the Bukovyna, Western, Eastern and Central Podillia zones of the second half of the 19th and early 21st centuries. The classification of folk costume of the region according to its constructive-artistic and functional-utility characteristics is given. Early settlers' forest practices consisted of little more than harvesting what seemed an endless supply of timber. Forestry in the 20th century eventually incorporated such management concerns as re-forestation, biodiversity, wildlife sciences, recreation, and cultural resources. While forest practices in the Pacific Northwest changed dramatically during the 20th century, clothing worn by those most commonly associated with the field, the "logger," remained relatively unchanged.

This thesis paper reflects upon the costume design process taken by Emma Hollows to produce a realist production of the Junction Avenue Theatre Company’s musical Sophiatown at the Augusta Savage Gallery at the University of Massachusetts in May 2020. Sophiatown follows a household forcibly removed from their homes by the Native Resettlement Act of 1954 amid apartheid in South Africa. The paper discusses her attempts as a costume designer to strike a balance between replicating history and making artistic changes for theatre, while always striving to create believable characters.

Resumen
Исследование традиционной женской одежды — поневы — происходит по археологическим и этнографическим материалам, которые относятся к периоду с X в. по начало XX в. По материалам исследователей Западной Сибири изучено распространение и бытование юбки-поневы в составе женского костюмного комплекса русских старожилов XVII–XX вв. Рассмотрена интеграция женского костюма русских старожилов в традиционный женский костюм остяков. Исследовано цветосочетание и значение цвета в традиционной одежде славян и обских угров. Территориальные границы охватывают районы проживания обских угров Тобольской губернии.
