The Runt domain gene AML1 is essential for definitive hematopoiesis during murine embryogenesis. We have isolated Xaml, a Xenopus AML1 homologue in order to investigate the patterning mechanisms responsible for the generation of hematopoietic precursors. Xaml is expressed early in the developing ventral blood island in a pattern that anticipates that of later globin. Analysis of globin and Xaml expression in explants, in embryos with perturbed dorsal ventral patterning, and by lineage tracing indicates that the formation of the ventral blood island is more complex than previously thought and involves contributions from both dorsal and ventral tissues. A truncated Xaml protein interferes with primitive hematopoiesis. Based on these results, we propose that Runt domain proteins function in the specification of hematopoietic stem cells in vertebrate embryos.

Resumen

Almost every Android user application has some kind of user interface. Android programmers who create Xamarin.Forms applications and who uses the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment to do so can create user interfaces in the XAML (the Extensible Application Markup Language) or in the C# programming language. This paper deals with a comparison of creating this user interface by the first and the second way. We demonstrate the differences in the creation of Android application user interfaces in XAML and in C# by way of using two of our Android applications which were created by the Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 Enterprise, which work as text editors with the ability to store text to disc, and have user interfaces that are visually identical. However, the user interface of the first Android application was created in XAML with a C# support code, whereas the user interface of the second Android application was created entirely in C#. While comparing the source codes of the user interfaces of both these Android applications, we identify the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches to creating a user interface and we try to find out which of these approaches is better for maintaining and modifying user interfaces. In this study, we also contrast the processes of handling events of controls of a user interface created in the XAML code for the first Android application as well as that of the same user interface created in the C# code for the second Android application. Furthermore, we were interested in determining whether the different ways of creating user interfaces affected the execution time of basic operations that included disc files that were performed on the same data by both the applications. We assume that it does not fundamentally affect the execution time, and so, we performed an experiment to confirm or refute our assumption.

Resumen

Many domain-specific languages, that try to bring feasible alternatives for existing solutions while simplifying programming work, have come up in recent years. Although, these little languages seem to be easy to use, there is an open issue whether they bring advantages in comparison to the application libraries, which are the most commonly used implementation approach. In this work, we present an experiment, which was carried out to compare such a domain-specific language with a comparable application library. The experiment was conducted with 36 programmers, who have answered a questionnaire on both implementation approaches. The questionnaire is more than 100 pages long. For a domain-specific language and the application library, the same problem domain has been used - construction of graphical user interfaces. In terms of a domain-specific language, XAML has been used and C# Forms for the application library. A cognitive dimension framework has been used for a comparison between XAML and C# Forms.

Resumen

This paper studies problems related to the development of craft software. It proposes an approach to developing an application for digital representation of stitches in cross stitch pattern software. The software is oriented to people manufacturing national Bulgarian costumes and clothing employing national Bulgarian cross stitch and embroidery. As UI elements, stitches are represented in XAML code. Graphic primitives are described in vector format; character transformations are allowed, and there are possibilities for creating combinations of stitches. The solution will be used in cross stitch software development.

Resumen

This article presents the new mini-language for effective definition of color gradients for the languages of vector graphics. Mini-language supports two types of gradients: linear and radial. It lets define all variants of color transitions supported by modern vector systems. The code is much shorter and easier than in its alternatives such as XAML and SVG. The entire definition is written within one intuitively the assembled string. Implementation of the presented mini-language could substantially encapsulate and streamline the source code for vector graphics.

Resumen

Selecting appropriate colours poses great challenge for expert fashion designers and users. At times, different coloured fabrics and textiles have to be manually placed side by side to see how well they combine. In this paper, a model was developed for fashion colour combination visualization for ladies using concepts in genetic algorithm to achieve a display of colour variations. This research involved 26 users to suggest rules that guide choosing fashion colour combination for ladies in the initial stage. Analysis of the questionnaire was carried out in an online survey site. Two of the suggestions made by the users were considered. These are light colours on dark colours and stripped colours on plain colours. The system was implemented using C# programming language and XAML. It was found to be a useful tool to users and fashion designers for the visualization of fashion colour combination for ladies.

To extend a broad application of blockchain technology to the fields of online English education, this paper aims to improve a virtual platform for English teaching and learning of landscape design majors, mainly composed of presentation layer, business layer, and data layer by analyzing the performance of the proposed algorithm, and comparing with other existing algorithms. In the platform, through the service layer, the communication between the presentation layer and the data layer is completed, and the data in the data layer is transferred to the presentation layer. The user first establishes a connection with the server in the presentation layer. Using the transmitted data information, the server assigns an identifier to the user and establishes a role model. Users can download the teaching courseware through the server and simulate the real learning scene by controlling the interaction of XAML files. The results show that the virtual teaching platform makes the interconnection of users (students and teachers), machines, and things at any time and any place; realizes information self-verification, transmission, deep unsupervised learning, and management; and gives students a more realistic visual experience in high security.

Abstract Nucleosome assembly proteins (NAPs) bind core histones, facilitate chromatin remodeling, and can act as transcriptional coactivators. We previously described the isolation of a Xenopus NAP1-like (xNAP1L) cDNA, which encodes a member of this protein family. Its zygotic expression is restricted to neural cells, the outer cells of the ventral blood island (VBIs), and the ectoderm overlying the blood precursors. Here, we report that depletion of zygotic xNAP1L in embryos produces no obvious morphologic phenotype, but ablates α-globin mRNA expression in the VBIs. Transcript levels of the hematopoietic precursor genes SCL and Xaml (Runx-1) are also reduced in the VBIs. SCL expression can be rescued by injection of xNAP1L mRNA into the ectoderm, showing that the effect of xNAP1L can be non–cell autonomous. Fli1 and Hex, genes expressed in hemangioblasts but subsequently endothelial markers, were unaffected, suggesting that xNAP1L is required for the hematopoietic lineage specifically. Our data are consistent with a requirement for xNAP1L upstream of SCL, and injection of SCL mRNA into xNAP1L-depleted embryos rescues α-globin expression. Thus, xNAP1L, which belongs to a family of proteins previously believed to have general roles, has a specific function in hematopoiesis.

O objetivo deste artigo é descrever os conhecimentos a que os caçadores do povo Gavião, falantes Jê que vivem na Amazônia maranhense, recorrem na tentativa de controlar as capacidades agentivas dos animais ao torná-los comida ou adorno. Quando se encontram em atividades cinegéticas, caçadores e animais estão disputando condições de produção e reprodução, e a relação malsucedida entre eles desencadeia um processo de adoecimento e morte do caçador, de sua esposa ou filho. Argumento que os caçadores desenvolveram um sistema de etnoclassificação ambiental que distingue os animais frente aos domínios cósmicos e habitats que ocupam, quanto a seus aspectos morfológicos, a dimensão estética de seus corpos e a completa interdição aos humanos. Se a dualidade Jê entre vivos e mortos pode ser resolvida pela ação dos xamãs, a dualidade entre humano e animal pode ser pensada pela intermediação dos caçadores que, como os xamãs, agem como intermediários entre dois mundos diferentes, encontrando na classificação dos animais e ambientes uma dinâmica entre um mundo pensado e um mundo vivido.

This article described the Web Services security protocols, and the policy description language XACML was analyzed in detail in the Web Services. XACML is characterized by the strong ability of expansion and the favorable inter-operation in the access control of the Web Services, which are concluded from the comparison in both SOA strategic architectures. A collection of XACML policy combination algorithms and decision algorithms were discussed in the policy-based service-oriented computing, then the policy control and access control mechanism were also illustrated, and the corresponding decision model was described, at last the development of XACML was prospected.

Access control systems represent a security mechanism to regulate the access to system resources, and XACML is the standard language for specifying, storing and deploying access control policies. The verbosity and complexity of XACML syntax as well as the natural language semantics provided by the standard make the verification and testing of these policies difficult and error-prone. In the literature, analysis techniques and access control languages formalizations are provided for verifiability and testability purposes. This paper provides three contributions: it provides a comprehensive formal specification of XACML 3.0 policy elements; it leverages the existing policy coverage criteria to be suitable for XACML 3.0; and it introduces a new set of coverage criteria to better focus the testing activities on the peculiarities of XACML 3.0. The application of the proposed coverage criteria to a policy example is described, and hints for future research directions are discussed.

The observation of genetic correlations between disparate human traits has been interpreted as evidence of widespread pleiotropy. Here, we introduce cross-trait assortative mating (xAM) as an alternative explanation. We observe that xAM affects many phenotypes and that phenotypic cross-mate correlation estimates are strongly associated with genetic correlation estimates ( R 2 = 74%). We demonstrate that existing xAM plausibly accounts for substantial fractions of genetic correlation estimates and that previously reported genetic correlation estimates between some pairs of psychiatric disorders are congruent with xAM alone. Finally, we provide evidence for a history of xAM at the genetic level using cross-trait even/odd chromosome polygenic score correlations. Together, our results demonstrate that previous reports have likely overestimated the true genetic similarity between many phenotypes.

SummaryA low molecular weight heparin (LMW-heparin) with a mean molecular weight of 4900 dalton was prepared by controlled enzymatic depolymerization of conventional porcine mucosal heparin. The effects of 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000 U (Xal; 29,58 and 116 mg) on factor Xa inhibition (Xal), factor Ila inhibition (Hal), APTT, AT III and platelet count were compared to those of 5,000 U (Xal; 26 mg) of conventional heparin given s. c. to 6 healthy volunteers. 5,000 U (Xal; 58 mg) of LMW-heparin was given i. v. A dose related response with regard to the Xal and the Ila-inhibitory activities with peak values at 4 hours after the s. c. injections was obtained. An increase of the Xal/IIal ratio over the time after injection was seen only after i. v. administration of the LMW-heparin. The APTT was only slightly prolonged and remained within normal range after s. c. injection. AT III and platelet counts were unaffected. The biological half life of the LMW-heparin was 111 minutes if assayed by Xa inhibition, 76 minutes if assayed by Ila inhibition and 40 minutes if assayed by APTT. A strong correlation between the Xal activities obtained and body weight was seen, indicating that LMW-heparin should be administered individually according to body weight.

AbstractAmbient assisted living systems are based on sensors and actuators, with a diversity of network protocols and vendors. This commonly leads to the introduction of gateways or middlewares into the technical infrastructure in order to address interoperability issues. The xAAL framework presented in this paper aims to provide interoperability and to redesign such “gateways” into well-defined functional entities communicating with each other via a lightweight message bus over IP. Each entity may have multiple instances, may be shared between several boxes, and may be physically located in any box. Thanks to the distributed architecture of the system, each home automation vendor may peacefully provide its own xAAL box without revealing details of its technology. Also, several applications may be plugged together on the xAAL bus without getting bored with underlying heterogeneity. Moreover, the management of the dynamicity allows sensors or applications to enter and leave the system at any time.

Xanthomonas axonopodis pv.manihotis (Xam) causes bacterial blight, a major disease of cassava, which is a starchy root crop that feeds about 500 million people throughout the world. To better select resistant cassava germplasm, we examined the population structure of Xam in Brazil, Latin America's largest producer of cassava, and a major center of diversity for the crop. The 79 strains collected between 1941 and 1996 from three edaphoclimatic zones were analyzed by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP), using a probe linked to a Xam pathogenicity gene (pthB). Thirty-eight haplotypes were identified, and geographical differentiation for the Xam strains was demonstrated. Strains from subtropical zone (ECZ 6) showed high genetic diversity in most of the sites from which they were collected. They also showed migration from site to site. RFLP and amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) analyses were carried out on 37 Xam strains and compared; the AFLP assays were performed using eight primer combinations. A multiple correspondence analysis, used to assess genetic relatedness among strains and estimate genetic diversity, indicated that the Brazilian Xam population showed high diversity. No correlation was found between AFLP and RFLP data, but the two techniques provided complementary information on the genetic diversity of Xam. Most strains were highly aggressive on a susceptible cultivar. The genetic analysis presented here contributes to a better understanding of the Xam population structure in Brazil and will help select strains of the pathogen for screening cassava germplasm resistant to the disease.Key words: cassava bacterial blight, resistance, genetic diversity, molecular characterization.

O Objetivo desse artigo é expor um sentimento contraditório entre a compreensão genérica dos termos Pajé/Pajelança, associados diretamente ao de Xamã/Xamanismo. A oposição a esses termos foi obtida diretamente por meio de experiências etnográficas entre as etnias indígenas do Alto Sertão Alagoano e por meio de debates estabelecidos em eventos acadêmicos e em outros espaços que reúnem indígenas de outros lugares. Enquanto não foi possível encontrar um estudo teórico sobre o problema aqui apresentado, ambos os termos, Pajé/Pajelança, Xamã/Xamanismo, são colocados, concomitantemente iguais em seu conjunto, pela antropologia e também contrários entre si pelos povos indígenas da região. Debate que, teoricamente, vem sendo diferenciado em seus termos e práticas por indígenas em vários espaços quando suscitado o tema de forma genérica, sem distinção de uso. Já que, para os índios da região, Pajé/Pajelança, Xamã/Xamanismo, não se assemelham entre si. Nesse sentido, procuro expor a noção do entendimento dos termos Pajé/Pajelança a partir de sentidos religiosos representados nos rituais de Promessa aos Encantados. Nesses rituais, as ações do Pajé são configuradas como Pajelança. Para as etnias indígenas em Alagoas, esses termos são acionados enquanto identidade étnica local e se particularizam em cada etnia. Percepção que se opõe aos termos Xamã/Xamanismo, terminologia (práticas) universais que “não dão conta” de explicar a etnicidade latente nas etnias indígenas do Nordeste.

Chlorophyll is the light-harvesting molecule central to the process of photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is synthesized through 15 enzymatic steps. Most of the reactions have been characterized using recombinant proteins. One exception is the formation of the isocyclic E-ring characteristic of chlorophylls. This reaction is catalyzed by the Mg-protoporphyrin IX monomethyl ester cyclase encoded by Xantha-l in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.). The Xantha-l gene product (XanL) is a membrane-bound diiron monooxygenase, which requires additional soluble and membrane-bound components for its activity. XanL has so far been impossible to produce as an active recombinant protein for in vitro assays, which is required for deeper biochemical and structural analyses. In the present work, we performed cyclase assays with soluble and membrane-bound fractions of barley etioplasts. Addition of antibodies raised against ferredoxin or ferredoxin-NADPH oxidoreductase (FNR) inhibited assays, strongly suggesting that reducing electrons for the cyclase reaction involves ferredoxin and FNR. We further developed a completely recombinant cyclase assay. Expression of active XanL required co-expression with an additional protein, Ycf54. In vitro cyclase activity was obtained with recombinant XanL in combination with ferredoxin and FNR. Our experiment demonstrates that the cyclase is a ferredoxin-dependent enzyme. Ferredoxin is part of the photosynthetic electron-transport chain, which suggests that the cyclase reaction might be connected to photosynthesis under light conditions.

Resumen

With the rapid development of information technology, more and more requesters need accessing the services in different access domains, which make the access process in cross-domain become more difficultly. The traditional access control models couldn’t solve the access process for their design limitations and diversity access policies. Usage control model (UCON) was proposed to strengthen the expression of access control model, but UCON is only a conceptual model. How to use the UCON in access process? It is worthwhile to further study. Extensible access control markup language (XACML) is an open standard XML-based language, which can be used to describe the security policy. In order to solve the access process in different access domains, based on XACML, access process of data-flow in cross-domain usage control model is proposed in the paper. Access process of data-flow cross different domains in XACML is introduced to solve the cross-domain problem. Finally, a small example is given to verify the effectiveness of access process.

The microstructure of Mg-xAl-3Ca-0.8Sr alloys consists of the α-Mg solid solution, irregular-shaped (Al,Mg)2Ca, bulky Al3Mg13Sr and lamellar (Al,Mg)4Sr phases. The results showed that aluminum has a positive effect on the corrosion resistance of Mg-xAl-3Ca-0.8Sr alloys. The main corrosion product is magnesium hydroxide Mg (OH)2 which forms a cracked layer on the surface of Mg-xAl-3Ca-0.8Sr alloys.

Na esteira dos estudos sobre ontologia relacional e ontologia política de Arturo Escobar (2015), desenvolvemos neste artigo uma leitura da obra A queda do céu: palavras de um xamã yanomami (2015). Nosso argumento central consiste em defender os seguintes pontos: primeiro, relacionado diretamente com a teoria de Escobar, que a cosmologia yanomami apresenta-se como um outro mundo capaz de dar sentido à sua existência individual e coletiva de modo diferenciado à matriz ocidental e totalmente capaz de suprir todas as suas necessidades materiais e simbólicas; e, segundo, de que a cosmologia e a política percebidas na obra não encerram o caráter estético da linguagem apresentada pelo xamã às sociedades não indígenas. Por isso, pluriverso, aqui, trata ao mesmo tempo do conceito de pluriverso de Escobar, para defender a existência de outros mundos aos olhos do Ocidente, mas também do caráter lírico que a obra enseja em termos da linguagem, seja nas metáforas do mundo yanomami traduzidas à língua portuguesa, seja no grafismo utilizado na obra, seja na narrativa, própria e singular ao universo do xamã Kopenawa.

With the increasing complexity of software, new access control methods have emerged to deal with attribute-based authorization. As a standard language for specifying attribute-based access control policies, XACML offers a number of rule and policy combining algorithms to meet different needs of policy composition. Due to their variety and complexity, however, it is not uncommon to apply combining algorithms incorrectly, which can lead to unauthorized access or denial of service. To solve this problem, this paper presents a fault-based testing approach for revealing incorrect combining algorithms in XACML 3.0 policies. The theoretical foundation of this approach relies on the formalization of semantic differences between rule combining algorithms and between policy combining algorithms. It allows the use of a constraint solver for generating queries to which a given policy produces different responses than its combining algorithm-based mutants. Such queries can determine whether or not the given combining algorithm is used correctly. Our empirical studies using various XACML policies have demonstrated that our approach is effective.

A mancha angular do algodoeiro, causada por Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. malvacearum (Xam), é uma doença de importância econômica e pode causar perdas apreciáveis no rendimento. A doença pode ser controlada por resistência varietal desde que haja conhecimento sobre a variabilidade das populações do patógeno. A variabilidade genética e a estabilidade patogênica entre os isolados deste patógeno não foram suficientemente estudadas, principalmente considerando a introdução de novas cultivares e a expansão da cultura. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar a variabilidade genética entre os 61 isolados de Xam, provenientes de diversas cultivares e regiões do Brasil, através de ensaios moleculares. Análises de ERIC e REP-PCR demonstraram dois grupos distintos de Xam associados a região geográfica de origem. Não foram observadas diferenças nos perfis dos isolados através de PCR-RFLP da região 16S-23S rDNA. A região espaçadora 16S-23S rDNA de três linhagens de Xam foi analisada através de clonagem e sequenciamento e seis diferenças nas seqüências foram encontradas. A técnica de RAPD revelou um maior nível de polimorfismo, distinguindo 6 grupos de Xam a 85% de similaridade. Os resultados indicam a existência de variabilidade muito restrita entre os isolados analisados.

Abstract As one of the important crops in the world, cassava production is seriously threatened by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis (Xam) all year round. Calmodulin-binding transcription activators (CAMTAs) play key roles in biotic stress and abiotic stress in plants, however, their roles in cassava remain elusive. In this study, six MeCAMTAs were identified, and MeCAMTA3 with the highest induction upon Xam infection was confirmed as a transcription factor that binds to the vCGCGb motif. MeCAMTA3 negatively regulates plant disease resistance against Xam. On the one hand, MeCAMTA3 negatively regulated endogenous salicylic acid and reactive oxygen species accumulation, pathogenesis-related genes MePRs’ transcripts and callose deposition during cassava-Xam interaction but not under control conditions. On the other hand, RNA sequencing showed extensive transcriptional reprogramming by MeCAMTA3, especially 18 genes with a vCGCGb motif in the promoter region in hormone signaling, antioxidant signaling and other disease resistance signaling. Notably, chromatin immunoprecipitation-polymerase chain reaction showed that eight of these genes might be directly regulated by MeCAMTA3 through transcriptional repression. In summary, MeCAMTA3 negatively regulates plant disease resistance against cassava bacterial blight through modulation of multiple immune responses during cassava-Xam interaction and extensive transcriptional reprogramming.

Purpose – The paper aims to propose a flexible framework to support X-STROWL model. Extensible access control markup language (XACML) is an international standard used for access control in distributed systems. However, XACML and its existing extensions are not sufficient to fulfill sophisticated security requirements (e.g. access control based on user’s roles, context-aware authorizations and the ability of reasoning). Remarkably, X-STROWL, a generalized extension of XACML for spatiotemporal role-based access control (RBAC) model with reasoning ability, is a comprehensive model that overcomes these shortcomings. It mainly focuses on the architecture design as well as the implementation and evaluation of proposed framework and the comparison with others. Design/methodology/approach – Based on the concept of X-STROWL model, the paper reviewed a large amount of open sources implementing XACML with defined criteria and chose the most suitable framework to be extended for the implementation. The paper also presented a case study used to evaluate the research result. Findings – Holistic enterprise-ready application security framework – architecture framework (HERAS-AF) is chosen as the most suitable framework to be extended to implement X-STROWL model. Extending HERAS-AF to support spatiotemporal aspect and other contextual conditions as well as the way to integrate security in the access request, together with ability of reasoning for hierarchical roles, are striking features that make the proposed framework able to meet more sophisticated security requirements in comparison with others. Research limitations/implications – Due to the research content, the performance of proposed framework is not the focused issue of this work. Originality/value – The proposed framework is a crucial contribution of our research to provide a holistic, extensible and intelligent authorization decision engine.

During the last decade, organizations have been more and more aware of the benefits of engaging in collaborative activities. To attain a required collaborative objective, they are obligated to share sensitive resources such as data, services, and knowledge. However, sharing sensitive and private resources and exposing them for an external usage may prevent the organizations involved from collaborating. Therefore, this usage requires more preoccupation with security issues. Access control is one of these required security concerns. Several access control models are defined in the literature and this multitude of models creates heterogeneity of access control policies between the collaborating organizations. In this paper, we propose Access Control in Cross-Organizational coLLABoration ACCOLLAB, a solution for automatic mapping between heterogeneous access control policies in cross-organizational collaboration. To carry out this mapping, we suggest a mechanism founded mainly on XACML profiles and on a generic language derivative of XACML we define as Generic-XACML. We also formally prove that the mapping does not affect decision evaluation of policies. Thereby the proposed contribution ACCOLLAB allows each collaborating organization to communicate their access control policies and adopt other’s policies without affecting their existing access control systems.

First of all, this paper introduces based on subjective logic trust evaluation theory and XACML standard decision framework. Secondly, combining trust management technology, puts forward the applied in Web cross domain access control T - WAC model, solved the cross domain access of trust computation and update. Finally, through the simulation experiments, using test data of the new model of the effect of the contrast analysis. The results show that T - WAC model can automatically adjust the authorization, achieves the anticipated effect.

As a consequence, users need to manage their files from different sources and share in multi-clouds. While the conventional access control models are no longer suitable in multi-clouds environment. Therefore, a multi-clouds access control model based on XACML, named MCACM, is proposed here to implement access control in multi-clouds environment. In this model, cross-clouds access control is enabled through extending standard XACML framework. At last, we implemented a prototype of MCACM, and performance evaluation results show that our scheme is efficient.

The effects of aluminum on the mechanical properties and corrosion behavior in artificial seawater of Cu-Ni-Fe-Mn alloys were investigated. Cu-7Ni-xAl-1Fe-1Mn samples, consisting of 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 wt % aluminum along with the same contents of other alloying elements (Ni, Fe, and Mn), were prepared. The microstructure of Cu-7Ni-xAl-1Fe-1Mn alloy was analyzed by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and its corrosion property was tested by an electrochemical system. The results show that the mechanical and corrosion properties of Cu-7Ni-xAl-1Fe-1Mn alloy have an obvious change with the aluminum content. The tensile strength has a peak value of 395 MPa by adding 3 wt % aluminum in the alloy. Moreover, the corrosion rate in artificial seawater of Cu-7Ni-3Al-1Fe-1Mn alloy is 0.0215 mm/a which exhibits a better corrosion resistance than the commercially used UNS C70600. It is confirmed that the second-phase transformation of Cu-7Ni-xAl-1Fe-1Mn alloy follows the sequence of α solid solution → Ni3Al → Ni3Al + NiAl → Ni3Al + NiAl3. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) shows that the adding element aluminum in the Cupronickel can improve the corrosion resistance of Cu-7Ni-xAl-1Fe-1Mn alloy.

State-of-the-art progress in cloud computing encouraged the healthcare organizations to outsource the management of electronic health records to cloud service providers using hybrid cloud. A hybrid cloud is an infrastructure consisting of a private cloud (managed by the organization) and a public cloud (managed by the cloud service provider). The use of hybrid cloud enables electronic health records to be exchanged between medical institutions and supports multipurpose usage of electronic health records. Along with the benefits, cloud-based electronic health records also raise the problems of security and privacy specifically in terms of electronic health records access. A comprehensive and exploratory analysis of privacy-preserving solutions revealed that most current systems do not support fine-grained access control or consider additional factors such as privacy preservation and relationship semantics. In this article, we investigated the need of a privacy-aware fine-grained access control model for the hybrid cloud. We propose a privacy-aware relationship semantics–based XACML access control model that performs hybrid relationship and attribute-based access control using extensible access control markup language. The proposed approach supports fine-grained relation-based access control with state-of-the-art privacy mechanism named Anatomy for enhanced multipurpose electronic health records usage. The proposed (privacy-aware relationship semantics–based XACML access control model) model provides and maintains an efficient privacy versus utility trade-off. We formally verify the proposed model (privacy-aware relationship semantics–based XACML access control model) and implemented to check its effectiveness in terms of privacy-aware electronic health records access and multipurpose utilization. Experimental results show that in the proposed (privacy-aware relationship semantics–based XACML access control model) model, access policies based on relationships and electronic health records anonymization can perform well in terms of access policy response time and space storage.

This article argues for a decolonising, democratic engagement with environmental knowledges formed outside the academy in the Global South. Drawing upon Bruno Latour's claim that our contemporary environmental precarity was first trialled upon colonised peoples, I argue that historically remote – and even conceptually obscure – African popular knowledges should be treated as forms of theory in their own right. Sigmund Freud's teleological account of animism – inspired by Edward Burnett Tylor – saw animism as an evolutionary stage in the development of universal reason. Refusing Freud's and Tylor's perspectives, I argue instead that indigenous animism presages the imminent crisis in global food security. In this sense, animism is an early stage in the teleology of environmental precarity. Retranslating an indigenous song, 'The Broken String', from the nineteenth century Southern African Bleek-Lloyd archive, I show that the /Xam language engineered animist techniques and linguistic protocols for securing food and water. Specifically, /Xam was a template for transmutation – a language that instructed polyvalent conversions between species and lifespans. These versatile changes were geared towards the community's survival of catastrophic environmental change. Faced with their own colonial disposability, the /Xam opted to metamorphose and live on. Accordingly, the indigene's 'magical' metamorphoses were straightforward strategic gambles with life and death amid scant survival options. As forerunners of our own global moment, the /Xam prompt us to identify 'animistically' with our object-world. I argue that /Xam 's shapeshifting poetics might lead us to derive replenishing registers of address for our world. Resumen

This article argues for a decolonising, democratic engagement with environmental knowledges formed outside the academy in the Global South. Drawing upon Bruno Latour's claim that our contemporary environmental precarity was first trialled upon colonised peoples, I argue that historically remote – and even conceptually obscure – African popular knowledges should be treated as forms of theory in their own right. Sigmund Freud's teleological account of animism – inspired by Edward Burnett Tylor – saw animism as an evolutionary stage in the development of universal reason. Refusing Freud's and Tylor's perspectives, I argue instead that indigenous animism presages the imminent crisis in global food security. In this sense, animism is an early stage in the teleology of environmental precarity. Retranslating an indigenous song, 'The Broken String', from the nineteenth century Southern African Bleek-Lloyd archive, I show that the /Xam language engineered animist techniques and linguistic protocols for securing food and water. Specifically, /Xam was a template for transmutation – a language that instructed polyvalent conversions between species and lifespans. These versatile changes were geared towards the community's survival of catastrophic environmental change. Faced with their own colonial disposability, the /Xam opted to metamorphose and live on. Accordingly, the indigene's 'magical' metamorphoses were straightforward strategic gambles with life and death amid scant survival options. As forerunners of our own global moment, the /Xam prompt us to identify 'animistically' with our object-world. I argue that /Xam 's shapeshifting poetics might lead us to derive replenishing registers of address for our world. Furthermore, institutionalising new protocols of embodiment, as the /Xam once did, might help us to order the urgent task of replenishing our planet, by allowing environmental political interest and global species' behaviours to iterate themselves through us.

Resumen

Este estudo desenvolve uma análise crítica sobre o fragmento “Postscriptum, quando eu é um outro (e vice-versa)”, apresentado na obra A Queda do céu: palavras de um xamã yanomami. O livro foi pensado por um xamã yanomami; Davi Kopenawa, e produzido por um etnólogo francês Bruce Albert. Problematizo o processo de produção do livro onde dois universos culturais se encontram, uma produção literária indígena do povo Yanomami que apresenta uma coautoria. Essa análise busca investigar a postura epistêmica de Bruce Albert como mediador cultural ou “antropólogo do mal” no processo de elaboração do livro, a fim de levantar questionamentos sobre o ato tradutório e suas implicações, destacando os desa os e contribuições apresentadas nesse processo. Nesta direção, esse artigo se fundamenta nos pensamentos da história cultural.

Resumen

Microstructure of Mg-9Zn-xAl (x=2,4,6) magnesium alloy was prepared by traditional casting, SIM casting and isolated treatment. The effect of Al content addition on microstructure of Mg-9Zn-xAl was investigated. Results show that Compared with traditional casting, grain size is refined by self-inoculation method casting. Grain size of Mg-9Zn-xAl (x=2,4,6) is 88μm,76μm and 69μm respectively at traditional casting, and is 49.5μm,42μm,35.6μm respectively at SIM casting. With Al content increase, the isolated island-like secondary phase change into semi-continuous network and continuous network, and combination between Magnesium and alloy element decrease accumulation of magnesium atom on the primary phase, so that the growth of the primary phase is prevented.
