Resumen
AbstractThis article analyzes the bamboo strips recovered from the northern chamber of the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng (d. 433 b.c.e.). It argues that the strips comprised at least two separate texts that were integral to the organization and performance of the Marquis's funerary cortège. One text lists on individual strips the chariots and horse teams used in the procession, as well as their donors, categorizing them under bureaucratic offices. A second text describes these same chariots one after another, along with their drivers, decorations, and armor. Counting marks next to each of the chariot names appear to have verified the written totals found in the text. This evidence demonstrates that the director of the cortège combined together donated materials from a vast geographic area in order to create a distinctive funerary spectacle that displayed the wealth, status, and power of the Marquis and the state of Zeng. The article further argues that characterizing the Zeng texts as “inventories” (qian'ce 遣策)—so often analyzed for evidence of ideas about the afterlife—hardly does justice to the complex role that the texts played in the funeral procession and Zeng royal display. It concludes that this political display function drove the production of the texts and the organization of the funeral, not least because Marquis Yi's heir and Zeng state officials would have wanted to ensure a smooth transfer of power.

We analyze contemporary thought experiments with some Zeno objects and infinity machines. On the one hand, we continue to analyze the examples from Hawthorne, 2000, pointing out the incompleteness of our comprehension of the examples from this paper. On the other hand, using a mode of reasoning associated with that of Hawthorne, 2000, we show how Zeno of Elea’s Dichotomy can be made immune to its traditional refutation.

Poast, Paul. "(Mis)Using Dyadic Data to Analyze Multilateral Events". Political Analysis 18, n.º 4 (2010): 403–25. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/pan/mpq024.

Texto completo
Resumen
Dyadic (state-pair) data is completely inappropriate for analyzing multilateral events (such as large alliances and major wars). Scholars, particularly in international relations, often divide the actors in a multilateral event into a series of dyadic relations. Though this practice can dramatically increase the size of data sets, using dyadic data to analyze what are, in reality, k-adic events leads to model misspecification and, inevitably, statistical bias. In short, one cannot recover a k-adic data generating process using dy-adic data. In this paper, I accomplish three tasks. First, I use Monte Carlo simulations to confirm that analyzing k-adic events with dyadic data produces substantial bias. Second, I show that choice-based sampling, as popularized by King and Zeng (2001a, Explaining rare events in international relations. International Organization 55:693–715, and 2001b, Logistic regression in rare events data. Political Analysis 9:137–63), can be used to create feasibly sized k-adic data sets. Finally, I use the study of alliance formation by Gibler and Wolford (2006, Alliances, then democracy: An examination of the relationship between regime type and alliance formation. The Journal of Conflict Resolution 50:1–25) to illustrate how to apply this choice-based sampling solution and explain how to code independent variables in a k-adic context.

Resumen
In this work we introduce two experimental proposals that could shed some light upon the inertial properties of intrinsic spin. In particular we will analyze the role that the gravitomagnetic field of the Earth could have on a quantum system with spin 1/2. We will deduce the expression for Rabi transitions, which depend, explicitly, on the coupling between the spin of the quantum system and the gravitomagnetic field of the Earth. Afterwards, the continuous measurement of the energy of the spin-1/2 system is considered, and an expression for the emerging quantum Zeno effect is obtained. Thus, it will be proved that gravitomagnetism, in connection with spin-1/2 systems, could induce not only Rabi transitions but also a quantum Zeno effect.

Resumen
Environmental decoherence appears to be the biggest obstacle for successful construction of quantum mind theories. Nevertheless, the quantum physicist Henry Stapp promoted the view that the mind could utilize quantum Zeno effect to influence brain dynamics and that the efficacy of such mental efforts would not be undermined by environmental decoherence of the brain. To address the physical plausibility of Stapp's claim, we modeled the brain using quantum tunneling of an electron in a multiple-well structure such as the voltage sensor in neuronal ion channels and performed Monte Carlo simulations of quantum Zeno effect exerted by the mind upon the brain in the presence or absence of environmental decoherence. The simulations unambiguously showed that the quantum Zeno effect breaks down for timescales greater than the brain decoherence time. To generalize the Monte Carlo simulation results for any n-level quantum system, we further analyzed the change of brain entropy due to the mind probing actions and proved a theorem according to which local projections cannot decrease the von Neumann entropy of the unconditional brain density matrix. The latter theorem establishes that Stapp's model is physically implausible but leaves a door open for future development of quantum mind theories provided the brain has a decoherence-free subspace.

The purpose of regression analysis is determining the relationship between response variables to predictor variables. To estimate the regression curve there are three approaches, parametric regression, nonparametric regression, and semiparametric regression. In this study, the estimator form of nonparametric regression curve is analyzed by using the Fourier series approach with sine and cosine bases, sine bases, and cosine bases. Based on Weighted Least Square (WLS) optimization, the estimator result can be applied to model the sale planning of Madura typical snacks. Nonparametric regression estimators with the Fourier series approach are weighted with uniform and variance weight. The best model that be obtained in this study for uniform weight, based on cosine and sine basis with GCV value of 1541.015, MSE value of 0.1375912 and determination coefficient value of 0.4728418%. The best model for variance weight is based on cosine and sine basis with a GCV value of 1541.011, MSE value of 0.1375912 and determination coefficient of 0.4728227%.

We generalize Kato's adiabatic theorem to nonunitary dynamics with an isospectral generator. This enables us to unify two strong-coupling limits: one driven by fast oscillations under a Hamiltonian, and the other driven by strong damping under a Lindbladian. We discuss the case where both mechanisms are present and provide nonperturbative error bounds. We also analyze the links with the quantum Zeno effect and dynamics.

Plant materials can be contaminated with Fusarium mycotoxins and their derivatives, whose toxic effects on humans and animals may remain subclinical. Zearalenone (ZEN), a low-molecular-weight compound, is produced by molds in crop plants as a secondary metabolite. The objective of this study will be to analyze the in vivo correlations between very low monotonic doses of ZEN (5, 10, and 15 μg ZEN/kg body weight—BW for 42 days) and the carryover of this mycotoxin and its selected metabolites from the intestinal contents to the intestinal walls, the mRNA expression of estrogen receptor alfa (ERα) and estrogen receptor beta (ERβ) genes, and the mRNA expression of genes modulating selected colon enzymes (CYP1A1 and GSTP1) in the intestinal mucosa of pre-pubertal gilts. An in vivo experiment will be performed on 60 clinically healthy animals with initial BW of 14.5 ± 2 kg. The gilts will be randomly divided into a control group (group C, n = 15) and three experimental groups (group ZEN5, group ZEN10, and group ZEN15; n = 15). Group ZEN5 will be administered per os 5 μg ZEN/kg BW (MABEL), group ZEN10—10 μg ZEN/kg BW (NOAEL), and group ZEN15—15 µg ZEN/kg BW (low LOAEL). In each group, five animals will be euthanized on analytical dates 1 (exposure day 7), 2 (exposure day 21), and 3 (exposure day 42). Samples for in vitro analyses will be collected from an intestinal segment resected from the following regions: the third (horizontal) part of the duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, and descending colon. The experimental material will be collected under special conditions, and it will be transported to specialist laboratories where samples will be obtained for further analyses.

A characterizing property of Zenga (1984) inequality curve is exploited in order to develop an estimator for the extreme value index of a distribution with regularly varying tail. The approach proposed here has a nice graphical interpretation which provides a powerful method for the analysis of the tail of a distribution. The properties of the proposed estimation strategy are analysed theoretically and by means of simulations. The usefulness of the method will be tested also on real data sets.

Resumen
<p>The aim of this work was to study the possible complex formation between chitosan and phytic acid. Zeta potential and turbidity measurements were used as a basis to confirm the possible complex between these two molecules. The obtained results showed that chitosan at a concentration of 0.1% (w/v) were soluble in 0.1% acetic acid solution. This concentration of the acetic acid was the lowest that allows chitosan to dissolve. A positive surface charge of chitosan was recorded in the pH interval from 1 to 7. The highest zeta potential values were obtained at pH &lt; 5 and decreased significantly at pH 6 and 7. Regarding phytic acid, it was soluble in deionized water and acetic acid whatever the concentration of the acetic acid and in the entire pH range 2-10. Phytic acid had negative surface charge in deionized water and in 0.1% acetic acid, but was slightly positively charged in 5% acetic acid solution. The solubility of chitosan was decreased by the presence of phytic acid. The formation of chitosan/phytic acid complex as monitored by measuring the zeta potential does not allow us to conclude that the formation of this complex is possible.</p>

Resumen
Background The CCT complex is an important mediator of microtubule assembly and intracellular protein folding. Owing to its high expression in spermatids, CCT knockdown can disrupt spermatogenesis. In the present report, we therefore evaluated the in vivo functionality of the testis-specific CCT complex component CCT6B using a murine knockout model system. Methods A CRISPR/Cas9 approach was used to generate Cct6b−/− mice, after which candidate gene expression in these animals was evaluated via qPCR and Western blotting. Testicular and epididymal phenotypes were assessed through histological and immunofluorescent staining assays, while a computer-assisted sperm analyzer was employed to assess semen quality. Results Cct6b−/− mice were successfully generated, and exhibited no differences in development, fertility, appearance, testis weight, or sperm counts relative to control littermates. In addition, no differences in spermatogenesis were detected when comparingCct6b+/+ and Cct6b−/− testes. However, when progressive motility was analyzed, the ratio of normal sperm was significantly decreased in Cct6b−/− male mice, with nuclear base bending being the primary detected abnormality. In addition, slight decreases in Cct4 and Cct7 expression were detected. Conclusion These data indicated that CCT6B is an important regulator of murine spermatogenesis, with the loss of this protein resulting in CCT complex dysfunction, providing a foundation for further studies.

The formula is analysed in the context of imperial acclamations and their language, which differs from that normally found on coinage. It is suggested that the coin may have been struck in connection with an otherwise unknown visit by Caracalla to the East in AD 207, for which other evidence is assembled. A catalogue of acclamations on Roman coins, medallions, and tokens is provided.

Resumen
Background & Aims: The aim of this study is to present the experience of our center over the last 8 years in a series of patients with Zenker’s diverticulum (ZD), treated using an endoscopic, minimally invasive procedure. Methods: We retrospectively included 31 patients with a previously established diagnosis of ZD based on endoscopic and oral contrast examinations. Patients’ age, comorbidities, size of the diverticulum or previous endoscopic treatment were not considered exclusion criteria. A soft, flexible diverticuloscope to expose the septum and a dual knife for “cutting” the diverticular septum were used. We analyzed the short term efficacy based on symptomatic relief and occurrence of side effects, and long term efficiency at 6 and 12 months by clinical assessment, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and oral contrast media passage. Results: Patients had a mean age of 67 years (range 42-86); 55% of them were male. All patients reported symptom relief after the procedure. A decrease of more than 70% from the initial size of the diverticulum was noted. There were 3 cases (9.67%) of intraprocedural hemorrhage, endoscopically managed. No serious post-procedural complications and no mortality were reported. The mean procedural time was 21.87 minutes (range 15-25 minutes). Average hospitalization was 2.5 days. Five patients developed recurrence and needed a second session of endoscopic treatment for achieving complete myotomy. Conclusions: Endoscopic management for ZD was efficient and safe in our series of patients. A short hospitalization period was required.

Polygonatum kingianum Collett et Hemsl. var. grandifolium D.M. Liu &amp; W.Z. Zeng (1981), which sprouts twice a year, once in spring and once in autumn, differs from Polygonatum kingianum in leaves, bracts, perianth and filaments. Morphological comparison and molecular phylogeny indicate that it is identical to the newly-published Polygonatum hunanense H.H. Liu &amp; B.Z. Wang (2021). Hence, we propose that P. kingianum var. grandifolium should be recognised as a new synonym of P. hunanense. In addition, phylogenetic analyses confirmed that P. hunanense is sister to Polygonatum sect. Polygonatum, rather than P. kingianum of Polygonatum sect. Verticillata.

The effects of three tillage systems: no-tillage (NT), reduced tillage (RT) and conventional tillage (CT), and three levels of fertilization (0, 258 and 516 kg/ha NPK (58:18:24)), on the maize yield during ten years (1999&ndash;2008) were analyzed on the chernozem soil type in Zemun Polje, Serbia. Statistical analyses showed significant effects of all three factors i.e., year, soil tillage and amount of fertilizers, and their interactions on the maize yield. The ten-year averages showed that the highest yields were observed with CT (10.61 t/ha), while the averages with RT and NT were lower (8.99 t/ha and 6.85 t/ha, respectively). The results of the influence of the amount of the applied fertilizers on maize yield showed that the lowest yield was in the zero level of fertilization 7.71 t/ha, while the yield was raised when the 258 kg/ha and 516 kg/ha NPK were applied (9.18 t/ha and 9.56 t/ha, respectively). Analyzing the influence of the soil tillage systems on maize production with respect to the amounts of applied fertilizers, this research revealed the benefits of CT under the presented agroecological conditions, irrespective of the level of applied fertilizer.

Resumen
Based on the norm theory of Toury and Hermans, Chesterman makes a further development on the study of translation norms. In his theory, translation norms fall into two categories: expectancy norms and professional norms. Expectancy norms are from the expectations of target readers and influenced by the economic, political and cultural factors of the target society. Professional norms manipulate the translation process and are subject to expectancy norms. Professional norms can be further divided into accountability norms, communication norms and relation norms. Chesterman’s norm theory covers the ethical, social and skill norms during the whole translation process, which has great significance for translation studies and practice. The author of this paper has conducted an overall study on The Thorn Birds translated by Zeng Hu from the perspective of Chesterman’s norm theory, aiming to analyze the translator’s conformity to these norms and how these norms influence his translation. It can be concluded that translation is a norm-governed activity. During the translation of The Thorn Birds, the translator Zeng Hu has, in his own way, ingeniously conformed to the translation norms by Chesterman: he not only conforms to the expectancy norms by adopting different translation strategies and styles according to the target readers’ needs, but also applies professional norms to make his translation work well accepted by readers and enjoy lasting popularity. Thus, it can be seen that the instructional and normative effects of translation norms is of vital importance to the success of a translation.

Resumen
Considering the communication resources limitation, the hybrid-triggered mechanism based distributed control of islanded microgrids cluster is proposed, which can restore the frequency to the rated value and realize the active power sharing when the disturbance occurs. The hybrid-triggered mechanism consists of the self- and event-triggered mechanisms, which are configured at each leader and follower distributed generation to determine the inter-microgrids and intra-microgrid information transmission, respectively. The communication burdens can be sharply reduced since the information is transmitted aperiodically only when the proposed triggering conditions are satisfied under the hybrid-triggered mechanism. Moreover, Zeno behavior is analyzed to be avoided to make the hybrid-triggered mechanism reasonable and practicable for practical islanded microgrids cluster. The simulation verifies the effectiveness of theoretical results.

Resumen
Historically, the taxonomic study of the Asian genus Fordiophyton has had some gaps. Several specimens from Guangdong (China) have been misidentified as Fordiophyton brevicaule C. Chen. The new species proposed here shares with F. brevicaule the densely hirsute stem, rosetted leaves and glabrous hypanthia, but it is distinguished by its glabrous leaves, winged petioles, oblong petals lacking a single trichome at the apex, and purplish anthers in the longer set of stamens. The phylogenetic analyses indicate that it is a member of Fordiophyton and sister to F. brevicaule. Based on morphological and molecular data, we here recognize it as a new species, Fordiophyton zhuangiae S. Jin Zeng & G. D. Tang, which is described and illustrated.

Resumen
This paper investigates the event-triggered consensus problem of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems subject to denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, which make the communication network unable to provide normal services. Considering a general class of DoS attack with limited duration, a novel distributed event-triggered consensus protocol accompanied with first-order hold is adopted to guarantee the globally bounded consensus convergence under directed network topology. Based on the linear matrix inequality approach and Lyapunov stability method, consensus converging properties are analysed and sufficient criteria are obtained. Furthermore, Zeno-free triggering of our proposed protocol is demonstrated. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to show the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

Resumen
Focused on the lane occupancy phenomenon, this paper analyzes the roads during two different accidents to the evacuation period. Firstly, according to the statistical data, this paper calculated the correction coefficients under the road traffic condition, and then obtained the actual traffic capacity result at each moment of the road when combining the function model of the actual traffic capacity corrected by the running speed and the road traffic condition. Next the actual traffic capacity results are fitted to the Smooth spline interpolation, and then the actual traffic capacity is further verified by the traffic congestion situation. The actual traffic capacity of the road during the accident to evacuation is summarized as follows: the actual traffic capacity shows a nonlinear trend, that is, ascending-attenuating-recovering and gradually stabilizing. Finally, using Mann-Whitney U test to carry out the difference test on the actual traffic capacity, it is found that there is significant difference between the two groups of data, and the actual traffic capacity of the second case is stronger than that of the first one, and the reasons for the difference are analyzed as follows: the ratio of the steering traffic volume at the downstream intersection is different; this road section includes the community intersection and there are vehicles entering and leaving; meanwhile the speed of each lane is different and there are buildings near the lane. The above conclusions will provide theoretical basis for the traffic management department to correctly guide the vehicle driving, approve the road construction, design the road channelization plan, set the roadside parking space and the non-port-type bus stations.

<p><span>DC-DC converters are devices which convert direct current (DC) from one voltage level to another by changing the duty cycle of the main switches in the circuits. These converters are widely used in switched mode power supplies and it is important to supply a constant output voltage, regardless of disturbances on the input voltage. In this work, the performance of three different converters such as Single-Ended Primary-Inductance Converter (SEPIC), Luo converter and ZETA converter have been analyzed. Further, the parameters values such as ripple voltage, switching losses and efficiency of the proposed three different converters were compared with each other. Also, the simulation work has been carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. From the comparison of obtained results, it is observed that the ZETA converter has high significance than the SEPIC and Luo converter.</span></p>

Resumen
Zearalenone is a frequent contaminant of cereals and their by-products in regions with a temperate climate. This toxic molecule is produced naturally by Fusarium fungi in crops. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of low zearalenone doses (LOAEL, NOAEL and MABEL) on the intestinal microbiome of gilts on different days of exposure (days 7, 21 and 42). Intestinal contents were sampled from the duodenal cap, the third part of the duodenum, jejunum, caecum and the descending colon. The experiment was performed on 60 clinically healthy gilts with average BW of 14.5 ± 2 kg, divided into three experimental groups and a control group. Group ZEN5 animals were orally administered ZEN at 5 μg /kg BW, group ZEN10—10 μg ZEN/kg BW and group ZEN15—15 µg ZEN/kg BW. Five gilts from every group were euthanized on analytical dates 1, 2 and 3. Differences in the log values of microbial counts, mainly Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis, were observed between the proximal and distal segments of the intestinal tract on different analytical dates as well as in the entire intestinal tract. Zearalenone affected the colony counts of intestinal microbiota rather than microbiome diversity, and its effect was greatest in groups ZEN10 and ZEN15. Microbial colony counts were similar in groups ZEN5 and C. In the analysed mycobiome, ZEN exerted a stimulatory effect on the log values of yeast and mould counts in all intestinal segments, in particular in the colon, and the greatest increase was noted on the first analytical date.

Resumen
Income distribution analyses can be conducted from the point of view of the comparisons between different geographical regions, family types or socio-economic groups as well as to assess the effects of an economic policy over time. In the study, the results of a research on income distributions in Poland by socio-economic group, with a special attention paid to the families of farmers in the years 2006-2014, are presented. They allowed to formulate several conclusions concerning the changes of income inequality, poverty and wealth for farmers as compared with different household groups distinguished by the Central Statistical Office of Poland. In the analysis we utilized Gini and Zenga inequality measures, quintile dispersion ratio, extremal groups dispersion ratio and the coefficient of maximum equalisation.

Resumen
The purpose of this article is to explore African form of indigenous mass communication with emphasis on Ethiopian indigenous form mass communication institutions, tools, manuscripts, and regulatory bodies. The method employed for this study is qualitative. First hand documents, tools and observation were considered as sources of primary data. Furthermore, pertinent literature was reviewed. The data was analyzed qualitatively where description of the responses on the bases of themes was given emphasis. The finding of this study argued that drum beating, horn blowing and town crying are a form of mass communications in the ancient time. In ancient time news in Africa was first made public from the tower in the center, squares of the city, palace main stairs, market and church. Town Criers, Azmari and shepherds were the journalists and the essential news presenters in ancient times. In the same manner, Afe Negus (mouth of the King) and Tsehafe Tezaze (Minister of Pen) were originally indigenous information regulatory bodies of the empire regime. This research discovered the oldest African newspaper in Ethiopia, a news sheet entitled Zenamewale (Daily News) and the first written newspaper and inscriptions of king Ezana are the first types of African form of news, which dates back to 320 A.D. Zena mewale is believed to be the first handmade press so far known in Africa for 700 years. This confirmed that Ethiopia has 3,000 years of indigenous forms of oral mass communication and handmade press history in Africa. Keywords: indigenous mass communication institutions, tools of traditional mass communication, manuscripts, regulatory bodies, Ethiopia

Resumen
The developing enamel matrix is a highly dynamic system mainly composed of the full-length amelogenin and its proteolytic cleavage products. In this study, size, zeta-potential, and the isoelectric points of nanoparticles of the recombinant full-length human amelogenin (rH174) and two proteolytic products (rH163 and rH146) were analyzed by dynamic light-scattering and electrokinetic measurements. We tested the hypothesis that zeta-potential may be used as a control parameter in directing the self-assembly of amelogenins. Extensive aggregation of amelogenin molecules with the particle size reaching about one micron occurred at a mildly acidic to neutral pH, and coincided with the red shift of the internal fluorescence. Zeta-potential was between ± 15 mV in the same pH range, indicating that amelogenin aggregation occurred when surface potentials were minimal. This suggests that electrostatic interactions may be another crucial factor, aside from hydrophobic interaction, in the aggregation and hierarchical assembly of spherical particles of amelogenins into supramolecular structures of a higher order.

Resumen
In this article, the authors try to predict the next-day CAC40 index. They apply the idea of Johan Bollen et al. from (Bollen, Mao, & Zeng, 2011) on the French stock market and they conduct their experiment using French tweets. Two analyses are applied on tweets: sentiment analysis and subjectivity analysis. Results of these analyses are then used to train a simple neural network. The input features are the sentiment, the subjectivity and the CAC40 closing value at day-1 and day-0. The single output value is the predicted CAC40 closing value at day+1. The authors propose an architecture using the JEE framework resulting in a better scalability and an easier industrialization. The main experiments are conducted over 5 months of data. The authors train their neural network on the first of the data and they test predictions on the remaining quarter. Their best run gives a direction accuracy of 80% and a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 2.97%. In another experiment, the authors retrain the neural network each day which decreases the MAPE to 1.14%.

Resumen
Evaluation of genetic variation was performed within 62 local maize populations originating from Slovakia and Czech Republic. In total 48 alleles at 22 analyzed isoenzyme loci with an average of 2.2 alleles per locus were revealed. The percentage of polymorphic loci ranged from 14% to 59% and the frequencies of detected alleles varied from null to four per locus. No polymorphism was detected at the loci <i>Dia2</i>, <i>Got3</i>, <i>Mdh4</i>, <i>Mmm</i>, and <i>Pgm1</i>. The highest number of alleles (four) was detected at loci <i>Acp1</i>, <i>Cat3</i>, <i>Pgm2</i>. No new alleles were identified, nevertheless the frequency of seven alleles was only about 1%. The expected heterozygosity ranged from null to 0.492 with an average of 0.197. The revealed isoenzyme polymorphism confirmed that all analyzed populations were heterogeneous and as many as 17 of them were completely heterogeneous. None of the analyzed populations was identical in the frequency of alleles at all 22 analyzed loci.

Resumen
The synthesis of CaO/zeolite nanocomposite as a highly active and effective adsorbent for patchouli oil purification has been developed. This research aims to improve the quality of patchouli oil by synthesizing CaO/zeolite nanocomposites using a solid-state mixing method. The used mass ratios of zeolite:CaO were 0:100, 20:80, 40:60, 60:40, 80:20 and 100:0 (w/w), then nanocomposites with various zeolite-to-CaO ratios were then calcined at various temperature of 300°C, 400°C and 500°C. The zeolite, CaO and nanocomposites were characterized by using the Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) and surface area analyzer (SAA). The nanocomposites were then applied to patchouli oil and the assessment results of physical and chemical properties of patchouli oil were determined according to Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 06-2385-2006. After patchouli oil purification using ZECA nanocomposite, the acid number decreased from 5.42 to 0.39 mg KOH/g oil, the patchouli alcohol (PA) content increased from 33.08 to 34.27% and the Fe level decreased from 1.39 to 0.31 ppm.

Resumen
For at least a century academics and governmental researchers have been developing measures that would aid them in understanding income distributions, their differences with respect to geographic regions, and changes over time periods. It is a fascinating area due to a number of reasons, one of them being the fact that different measures, or indices, are needed to reveal different features of income distributions. Keeping also in mind that the notions of poor and rich are relative to each other, Zenga (2007) proposed a new index of economic inequality. The index is remarkably insightful and useful, but deriving statistical inferential results has been a challenge. For example, unlike many other indices, Zenga's new index does not fall into the classes ofL-,U-, andV-statistics. In this paper we derive desired statistical inferential results, explore their performance in a simulation study, and then use the results to analyze data from the Bank of Italy Survey on Household Income and Wealth (SHIW).

Resumen
We analyze the Berry–Keating model and the Sierra and Rodríguez-Laguna Hamiltonian within the polymeric quantization formalism. By using the polymer representation, we obtain for both models, the associated polymeric quantum Hamiltonians and the corresponding stationary wave functions. The self-adjointness condition provides a proper domain for the Hamiltonian operator and the energy spectrum, which turned out to be dependent on an introduced scale parameter. By performing a counting of semiclassical states, we prove that the polymer representation reproduces the smooth part of the Riemann–von Mangoldt formula, and also introduces a correction depending on the energy and the scale parameter. This may shed some light on the understanding of the fluctuation behavior of the zeros of the Riemann function from a purely quantum point of view.

Resumen
The internet and social media have been credited with the potential to reinvigorate democracy by offering new avenues of political participation and communication between citi-zens and politicians. The results of empirical studies, however, call for caution, as many politi-cians refrain from fully exploring the interactive potential of new media. This case study focus-es on the web presence of Korean parliamentarians, using basic statistical analyses to explore the use of ICT as a means of political communication. It finds that Korean parliamentarians are less active online, treating ICT mainly as another channel for information distribution. It is thus concluded that ICT is not revolutionizing politics but reinforcing existing patterns of communi-cation that leave a gap between citizens and representatives. This paper was previously submit-ted to CeDem Asia 2016. The literature review and the methodology section have been expand-ed, and additional statistical data as well as further findings on Twitter were added.

Resumen
Under nutrient stress, low molecular weight organic acids are released in rhizosphere, which dissolve the crystalline layered silicate minerals and subsequently some short range order (SRO) minerals may be formed. To analyze this hypothesis, a controlled greenhouse experiment was conducted with three contrasting soils belonging to Alfisols, Inceptisols and Vertisols order in two phases, viz. Sorghum-sudangrass depletion and test crop experiment on maize. The SROs were measured by selective dissolutions. The results indicate that, NaOH extractable amorphous ferri-alumino silicate was higher in rhizosphere, whereas mild extractant extractable SRO dissolution was increased due to fertilization and rhizospheric effect. Fourier transform infrared band showed changes in 3400&ndash;3600/cm region (adsorbed water) and Si-O stretching vibration (1000/cm). This information will provide a new insight in formation of SROs under the rhizospheric environment.
