Resumen

Abstract

The late antique, early Byzantine settlement area locates at 12 km. distance to southwest of Karabuk Central District, on a sloping land with an altitude of 700 meters piedmont of Keltepe mountain. This settlement area, called as Zora, Zara, Zopran, Sora, Sopran or some other similar names by the researchers, locates within the boundaries of Akören (Kaleköy) and Zopran today. This area is one of the five central eparchies bounded to Paphlagonia district of Gangra (Çankırı).

Various column headers, inscriptions, sculptures, Hellenistic sepulchres and architectural ruins belonging to Roman age are identified there. The settlement area called as Sora since the 4th century is observed by Doublet (1889), Mendel (1901), Gökoğlu (1952), Marek (1993, 2003), Belke (1996) and Umar (2007), and they found out that it used to be called Zobran in the records of 16th century Ottoman archive.

Within the scope of this research, Sora is observed in details for the periods of Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. The life of St. Autonomous, who had came there in the 4th century to proselytize Christianity and became a martyre, their sepulchre constructions, the bishops of the city, architectural plastic works and scriptures are all researched. Moreover, the problem of naming the area which was confusing for many years is tried to be solved by this research beside documenting the present condition of the architectural ruin on their original places.

In the North of Mendoza Province, at Paramillos de Uspallata locality, Triassic sedimentary rocks outcrop. These Triassic beds are grouped in four formations: Paramillos, Agua de la Zorra, Portezuelo Bayo and Los Colorados. The Agua de la Zorra Formation is characterized by deposition in a deltaic and lacustrine system. The aims of this contribution are: (1) to realize a systematic study of new plant remains found in the Agua de la Zorra Formation and (2) to analize the influence of the potential of preservation and the volcanism in the Agua de la Zorra taphoflora in contrast with other Triassic units. Plant remains were systematically collected and compared with taphofloras from other Triassic formations of the Cuyana Basin. The systematic study from the Agua de la Zorra Formation allowed the determination of 21 taxa, nine of which have been cited in a previous contribution and 12 were described for the first time for the Agua de la Zorra Formation. There are differences in the taxonomic diversity between the taphofloras recovered from Potrerillos and Paramillos formations and these differences are linking with differences in biostratinomic process in each fluvial system and linked with the evidence of volcanic processes in these areas. The differences in diversity in the taphofloras of the Cacheuta and Agua de la Zorra formations can be more associated to ecological differences than variations in the taphonomic processes in each of the lake systems.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the publicity around the implementation of the Zora robot in elderly-care services in Lahti, Finland. The aim is to discover opinions concerning the use of robots in elderly care as well as the arguments and justifications behind those opinions. Zora is a humanoid robot intended to promote mobility and rehabilitation. The Lahti pilot was the first Zora pilot in Finland in public elderly-care services. It received much publicity, both regionally and nationally. Design/methodology/approach This study is based on an empirical case study on the implementation of the Zora robot in elderly-care services. The data consist of interviews with personnel who operated Zora and comments from the general public about the “Zora” robot. Two data sources were used: 107 comments were collected from online and print media, and the personnel (n=39) who worked with Zora were interviewed. The data were analysed by means of interpretative content analysis. Findings The results show that public opinion is mainly negative, but that the commentators apparently have little information about the robot and its tasks. The personnel had more positive views; they saw it as a recreational tool, not as a replacement for their own roles. Originality/value There is clearly a need for more information, for a better informed discussion on how robots can be used in elderly care and how to involve the general public in this discussion in a constructive way.

The use of the Zora robot was monitored and evaluated in 14 nursing care organizations (15 locations). The Zora robot, a Não robot with software, is designed as a social robot and used for pleasure and entertainment or to stimulate the physical activities of clients in residential care. In the first year, the aim was to monitor and evaluate how the care robot is used in daily practice. In the second year, the focus was on evaluating whether the use of Zora by care professionals can be extended to more groups and other type of clients. Interviews, questionnaires and observations were used as instruments to reveal the progress in the use of the robot and to reveal the facilitators and barriers. Care professionals experienced several barriers in the use of the robot (e.g., start-up time and software failures). The opportunity they had to discuss their experience during project team meetings was seen as a facilitator in the project. Furthermore, they mentioned that the Zora robot had a positive influence on clients as it created added value for the care professionals in having fun at work.

Resumen
Abstract The Huron-Erie interlobate zone passes near Woodstock, Ontario. Three large limestone quarries (Zorra, Beachville West, Beachville East) provide exposures up to 30 m high of the drift stratigraphy. Grain size, matrix carbonate, color, structure, fabric, lithology, and sequence, along with continuous tracing of contacts and facies changes, allowed recognition of ten tills and related water-laid sediments correlated with the known stratigraphy in surrounding areas.Four major glacial events are recognized, three of Late Wisconsinan age. Three tongues of red, Erie lobe Canning Till (unknown age) are over-lain by a Nissouri Stadial (22-17 ka) Catfish Creek Drift complex (two till tongues, regional southwest ice flow). Similar, apparently correlative, glacial and non-glacial sediment sequences within Catfish Creek Drift at Zorra and Beachville West (Centreville Member) suggest a northwest-southeast-trending ice margin. Overlying this are Erie Interstadial (16 ka) glaciolacustrine sediments (Rayside beds), Port Bruce Stadial (15-14 ka) Erie lobe Port Stanley Till, glaciolacustrine Zorra beds, and final Port Bruce Stadial Huron lobe Tavistock Till (three tongues), and deglacial out-wash (Dunn's Corner gravels). Repeated glaciolacustrine sedimentation between tills may relate to glacioisostatically reduced gradients and nearby ice lobe margins. There is little evidence of Catfish Creek interlobate conditions and only independent lobal glacial advances later.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Volcanic eruptions have an impact on the paleoecology of plant communities and their preservation in the fossil record. The aim of this contribution is to evaluate the influence of volcanism on plant preservation in lacustrine settings via systematic sampling and chemical analyses of fossil plants in the Upper Triassic Agua de la Zorra Formation, of the Argentinian Cuyana Basin. Plant remains are not uniformly preserved throughout the Agua de la Zorra Formation and their stratigraphic distribution reflects the original spatial pattern of the plant communities. SEM-EDX analyses was used to demonstrate how volcanism affected diagenesis of the plant remains. Eight taphonomic modes were determined from biostratinomic analysis, and three preservational modes from the chemical features observed in the SEM-EDX spectra. The three preservation modes recognized by SEM-EDX analysis are more likely linked to diagenesis and are not equivalent to the taphonomic modes described based on the biostratinomic features. The Agua de la Zorra paleolake preferentially preserved plant material because of anoxic conditions in deeper parts of the lake, and a high sedimentation rate in proximal near-shore facies. The plant remains are most abundant in sandy facies deposited by high-energy flows but there is no evidence that these flows were pyroclastic nor that the plant remains were generated by volcanic trauma.

How should one live in order to live well? What are the defining characteristics of the good life? These questions - the perennial concern of classical scholars - have in the last 25 years become the subject of debates in contemporary social and political theory as well. Foucault (1986), Taylor (1989), Kekes (1995), Cottingham (1998) and Nehamas (1998) have all stressed the importance of the ?art of living? or ?caring for the self? in light of contemporary political and economic developments. This article, as my contribution to the debate, offers the analysis of two models of the ?good life?: the one as presented by Plato and embodied in the literary character of Socrates, and the other as presented by Nikos Kazantzakis and embodied in the literary figure of Zorba. In general terms, Socrates advocates the rule of reason and the denigration and submission of the bodily Eros, while Zorba remains suspicious of the mind - ?a careful little shopkeeper? - and stresses the significance of bodily experiences as ways of linking oneself with the rest of the universe. Hence in the article I formulate an ethic of sensual Eros by focusing on Zorba?s way of life and contrast it to the Socratic ethics. I conclude that the concern and respect for the body, for the house in which Eros dwells, is the necessary a priori for the living of the good life. This way of life is not one that rejects reason altogether, but what it does reject is the desire of reason to monopolize the individual?s life processes.

Resumen
The present study examines the quality of the restricted Hartree–Fock (RHF) ab initio, B3LYP hybrid density functional theory (DFT), and relativistic zeroth-order regular approximation (ZORA) DFT methods for the calculation of phosphorus chemical shift (CS) tensors in phosphine, phosphido, and phosphinidene transition-metal complexes. A detailed comparison of calculated and experimental 31P CS tensors allows us to identify the characteristic advantages of each computational method. The results from B3LYP and ZORA-DFT calculations indicate that a double-ζ quality basis set reproduces experimental values of the principal components of the 31P CS tensor in many of the phosphorus-containing transition-metal complexes investigated, whereas the RHF method requires a triple-ζ doubly polarized basis set, yet fails in the case of the terminal phosphido group. Inclusion of the spin-orbit relativistic correction with the ZORA-DFT formalism requires a triple-ζ quality basis set to reproduce the experimental data. We demonstrate the merit of modern computational methods for investigating theoretically the effect of geometric variations upon the phosphorus CS tensor by systematically altering the W—P bond length and the W-P-CMe bond angle in W(CO)5(PMe3). Additionally, a previously reported correlation, determined experimentally, relating the 31P CS tensor to the Fe-P-Fe bond angle in a series of iron phosphido-bridging compounds, has been reproduced with calculations using the model compound Fe2(CO)6(µ2-PPh2)(µ2-Cl). The results presented demonstrate the value of modern computational techniques for obtaining a greater understanding of the relationship between phosphorus chemical shifts and molecular structure.Key words: 31P chemical shift, phosphine, phosphido, phosphinidene, RHF, B3LYP, relativistic, ZORA-DFT.

AbstractWe conducted a study on food habits of grey fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) in the mixed forest of Finca Chaculá en Nentón, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, through the quantification of food items in scats. We collected samples, all of which contained seeds of Juniperus comitana, an endangered cipres endemic to the region. We also detected remains of small mammals (Peromyscus mexicanus, P. aztecus, Soricidae and Didelphidae), birds and insects (Coleoptera, Carabidae and Orthoptera), with a relative frequency of 0.35, 0.14 and 0.35 respectively. An average of 72 seeds per feces sample were obtained; this shows the importance of researching the legitimacy and effectivity of the grey fox as a J. comitana seed dispersal agent.Key words: endangered cipres, food habits, grey fox, Huehuetenango, mixed forest.

Resumen
Next-generation quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) was used to investigate the competition between hydrogen bonding and halogen bonding for the recently proposed (Y = Br, I, At)/halogenabenzene/NH3 complex. Differences between using the SR-ZORA Hamiltonian and effective core potentials (ECPs) to account for relativistic effects with increased atomic mass demonstrated that next-generation QTAIM is a much more responsive tool than conventional QTAIM. Subtle details of the competition between halogen bonding and hydrogen bonding were observed, indicating a mixed chemical character shown in the 3-D paths constructed from the bond-path framework set B. In addition, the use of SR-ZORA reduced or entirely removed spurious features of B on the site of the halogen atoms.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Bioerosion by microorganisms is termed microbioerosion. In aquatic systems, microbioerosion affects various substrates, most commonly relatively soluble ones such as sulfates, phosphates, and carbonates. However, the record of microbioerosion in fossil calcareous organisms in lake environments is limited. In northern Mendoza Province, at the locality Paramillos de Uspallata, Triassic sedimentary rocks outcrop, including the Agua de la Zorra Formation, which was deposited in a deltaic and lacustrine system. This study assesses possible bioerosion by microorganisms on spinicaudata shells from the lacustrine sequence and discusses their preservation potential in lacustrine environments. Spinicaudatans from the Agua de la Zorra Formation were analyzed under a binocular microscope and via scanning electron microscopy. Traces, the product of microbioerosion, preserved as molds, were assigned as Type 1 and 2 and were then compared with those generated by cyanobacteria, bacteria, chlorophyte, and fungi that inhabit fresh and brackish water environments. Microbioerosion occurs post-mortem and enhances dissolution of the spinicaudata shells. This, together with bias in extraction methodologies and sampling, is considered the reason for the rarity of spinicaudatans with traces of bioerosion in the lacustrine record.
