Résumé :
A C*-algebra A is said to be approximately finite dimensional (AF) if it is the inductive limit of a sequence of finite dimensional C*-algebras(see [2], [5]). It is said to be nuclear if, for each C*-algebra B, there is a unique C*-norm on the *-algebraic tensor product A ⊗B [11]. Since finite dimensional C*-algebras are nuclear, and inductive limits of nuclear C*-algebras are nuclear [16];,every AF C*-algebra is nuclear. The family of nuclear C*-algebras is a large and well-behaved class (see [12]). The AF C*-algebras for a particularly tractable sub-class which has been completely classified

We define the combinatorial simple algebras N(eAS,n,t)k, N(eAS,n,t)k+and N(eAS,n,t)[k]which contain both the matrix ring and the non-associative algebras discussed in [11]. We also define a new cyclic finite dimensional algebra which contains the matrix ring Mn(𝔽) and show that the algebra is simple (see [3] and [7]). Even more, we find the automorphism group of the algebra N(0,n,t)[1]and show that the general matrix group GLn+t(𝔽) is not a subgroup of the automorphism group Aut (N(0,n,t)[1]).

Résumé :
If VK is a finite dimensional vector space over a field K and L is a lattice of subspaces of V, then, following Halmos [11], alg L is defined to be (the K-algebra of) all K-endomorphisms of V which leave every subspace in L invariant. If R ⊆ end(VK) is any subalgebra we define lat R to be (the sublattice of) all subspaces of VK which are invariant under every transformation in R. Then R ⊆ alg [lat R] and R is called a reflexive algebra when this is equality. Every finite dimensional algebra is isomorphic to a reflexive one ([4]) and these reflexive algebras have been studied by Azoff [1], Bark

AbstractThe structure theory of separable complex L*-algebras was given by Schue in [10] and [11]. In [3] Balachandran makes a study of infinite-dimensional complex topologically simple L*-algebras of classical type and poses the question whether these algebras exhaust the class of all infinite-dimensional complex topologically simple L*-algebras. In this paper we give an affirmative answer by determining all the complex topologically simple infinite-dimensional L*-algebras. The case of the real L*-algebras was studied previously in [4], [9] and [12] also under the separability condition. Appl

Résumé :
Over the past years, associative algebras have come to play a major role in several areas of theoretical physics. Firstly, it has been realized that Yang Baxter algebras [1] constitute the relevant structure underlying 1+1 dimensional integrable models; in addition, their relation to braid groups, the theory of knots and links, and the exchange algebras of 1+1 dimensional conformal field theories [2] has been quite well understood by now. Secondly, deformations of Poisson structures that appeared in 2+1 dimensional field theories as infinite dimensional symmetry algebras possess underlying ass

The paper is related to the area which was recently called topological homology [3, 6, 12, 16, 4]. We consider questions associated with the central Hochschild cohomology of C*-algebras. The study of the latter was begun by J. Phillips and I. Raeburn in [9, 10], when they were investigating some problems of the theory of perturbations of C*-algebras. In [8] we obtained a description of the structure of C*-algebras with central bidimension zero: it was proved that these C*-algebras are unital and have continuous trace. In the special case of separable and a priori unital C*-algebras this statem

In this paper, the gas dynamics equations are considered. The system is closed by a general equation of state. This equations describe a model of an inviscid non-heat-conducting gas motion in the absence of external force fields and external energy sources. The system is invariant under the 11-parameter group with the corresponding 11-dimensional Lie algebra. The gas dynamics equations, equations of motion, and basis operators of the Lie algebra are written in Cartesian, Cylindrical, and Spherical coordinate systems. Given an associative algebra with a distinguished finite set of representations that is closed under a (deformed) tensor product, and satisfies some technical assumptions, we define generalized 6j-symbols, and show that they can be associated, in a natural way, with certain labeled tetrahedra. Given a 3-dimensional compact oriented manifold M with boundary ∂M = Σ we choose an arbitrary triangulation [Formula: see text] of M and exploit the above correspondence between 6j-symbols and labeled tetrahedra to construct a vectorspace UΣ and a vector Z(M) ∈ UΣ, independent of [Formula: see text], and

Résumé :
For a perfect fluid source, we have investigated the homothetic matter collineations (HMCs) of locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type V spacetimes. For degenerate energy–momentum tensor, two cases arise. In one case, the solution of HMC equations yields 11-dimensional algebra of HMCs while in the second case, we have infinite number of HMCs. When the energy–momentum tensor is non-degenerate, we have four cases, each giving five-dimensional algebra of HMCs. Some LRS Bianchi type V metrics are provided admitting HMCs.

Abstract A new implicit algorithm to solve the full Navier Stokes equations for two dimensional unsteady incompressible flows that only makes use of the stream function, without the explicit calculation of the vorticity, is presented. The mathematical model discretized in finite differences, according to the ADI method, results in a system of two algebraic equations involving 11 nodes in each equation. By making an original hyphotesis, a reduction to equations with five nodes allows to obtain the numerical solution via the use of a pentadiagonal matrix algorithm PDMA. An iterative cycle has be

The In Situ Adaptive Tabulation (ISAT) procedure, originally developed for the efficient computation of homogeneous reactions in chemically reacting flows, is adapted and demonstrated for reacting flow computations with complex heterogeneous (or surface) reactions. The treatment of heterogeneous reactions within a reacting flow calculation requires solution of a set of nonlinear differential algebraic equations at boundary faces/nodes, as opposed to the solution of an initial value problem for which the original ISAT procedure was developed. In this work it is applied the wavelet transform method [2] in order to reduce diverse type of noises of experimental measurement plots in transport theory. First, suppose that a problem is governed by the transport equation for neutral particles, and an unknown perturbation occurs. In this case, the perturbation can be associated to the source, or even to the flux inside the domain X. How is the behavior of the perturbed flux in relation to the flux without the perturbation? For that, we employ the wavelet transform method in order to compress the angular flux considered as a 1D, or n-th dime

Résumé :
Investigations of flow characteristics around ship hulls at large drift angle are very important for understanding the motion behavior of ships during maneuvers. At large drift angles, the flow is dominated by strong vortical structures and complex three-dimensional separations. An accurate prediction of these flow structures is still a challenge for modern computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solvers. Hull forms with high block coefficients are blunt and have strong curvatures, which leads to large area flow separations over smooth surfaces. These areas are sensitive to the relative angle betwe
