Using Additive manufacturing it is possible to manufacture complicated components, that cannot be manufactured using conventional methods. The typical example is the lattice structure. Fabrication of these structures is complicated, and it is different from the fabrication of bulk parts. Using numerical simulation which can reflect process parameters it is possible to analyze the thermal behaviour of vertical and inclined struts fabrication. La struttura cellulare osservata all’interno dei melt pool nell’AlSi10Mg, stampato tramite Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) è elemento fondamentale nel conferire alla lega le sue ottime proprietà resistenziali, di molto superiori a quelle ottenibili tramite processi convenzionali. Tale struttura è composta da celle di alluminio primario, attorniate da pareti ricche in silicio. This diploma thesis deals with design of axle carrier for Formula Student. The axle carrier is topologically optimized and additively manufactured with Selective Laser Melting technology. Material for its production is aluminium alloy AlSi10Mg, which has worse mechanical properties than commonly used high-strength alloys. Therefore the aim was, by using topology optimization, to design a component, which would have comparable properties with milled component.
