AbstractThe article examines the story of David’s sojourn in Keilah (1 Sam. 23:1-13) in light of the episode of the sojourn of a band of ‘Apiru in the same city in the Amarna period. The biblical story is analyzed in the first part of the article, and is followed by a reconstruction of the 14th century BCE historical episode on the basis of some Amarna letters. The remarkable accord between the biblical and extra-biblical descriptions with regard to location and social conditions opens the way to a better understanding of both. The pro-Davidic character of the biblical story is evident from what the narrator includes in his story, as much as by what he left out. The extra-biblical source is the key to filling in the missing details that the narrator deliberately left out of his story.

Hipertensi adalah suatu keadaan ketika tekanan darah di pembuluh darah meningkat secara kronis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi refleksi alat pijat kayu (APIYU) dengan minyak zaitun terhadap tekanan darah pada pasien dengan hipertensi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah quasy experiment dengan pendekatan non-equivalent control group. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah 34 responden adalah kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pada kelompok eksperimen diberikan terapi refleksi Alat Pijat Kayu (APIYU) dengan minyak zaitun selama 30 menit dalam waktu 6 hari. Pada kelompok kontrol tidak diberikan intervensi. Kedua kelompok tetap mengkonsumsi obat hipertensi. Pengukuran tekanan darah dilakukan sebelum dan setelah diberikan terapi. Alat ukur yang digunakan lembar observasi dan sphygmomanometer digital. Analisis yang digunakan adalah dependent t test dan independent t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi penurunan, rata-rata tekanan darah sistolik pada kelompok eksperimen pre test yaitu 149,26 mmHg dan post test yaitu 145,44 mmHg. Rata-rata tekanan darah diastolik pre test 92,55 mmHg dan post test 91,30 mmHg. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan penurunan tekanan darah secara signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen dengan p value 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hasil uji statistik mean tekanan darah sistol sesudah intervensi pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol diperoleh p value 0,000 (p < 0,05) dan mean tekanan darah diastol sesudah intervensi pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol diperoleh p value 0,014 (p < 0,05). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terapi refleksi Alat Pijat Kayu (APIYU) dengan minyak zaitun dapat menurunkan tekanan darah

The paper summarises the exploration related R&D that has been managed by AMIRA/APIRA and gives details of the complex, market oriented process used to develop new projects.The process is illustrated by three case studies taken from the more than 70 exploration projects completed.The Gold Deposits of North Queensland Project conducted by James Cook University studied the various styles of gold mineralization. The Rock Magnetism project undertaken at CSIRO Division of Exploration Geoscience allowed both general and specific research themes to be undertaken in parallel with confidential proprietary investigations on sponsors' drill core. The Palaeogeographic Mapping project undertaken at the BMR Division of Continental Geology provided sponsors with palaeogeographic maps including interpretation and structural information of 70 time slices.Some of the benefits of the AMIRA/APIRA approach are discussed as well as some of the difficulties which arise in ensuring companies obtain appropriate benefits from their sponsorship.

With the use of antibodies raised against human atriopeptin (AP), immunoreactive AP (APir) was quantified in the plasma of five species of marine fishes, including members of the Agnatha, Chondrichthyes, and Osteichthyes. Concentrations of APir in fish plasma are in the same range as those described for mammalian species, indicating that AP was present in the earliest vertebrates and has retained at least partial structural similarity during the course of vertebrate evolution. Acclimation of two species to very dilute seawater was associated with a significant reduction in plasma APir, suggesting that salt loading, rather than volume expansion, may be the primary stimulus for AP release in fishes. Heterologous rat atriopeptin (AP101-126) vasodilated preconstricted, perfused gills and unstimulated isolated vascular rings from the ventral aorta of the marine teleost Opsanus beta with an apparent half maximum effective concentration (EC50) of 3-4 x 10(-9) M, similar to sensitivities to AP described for mammalian vascular smooth muscle. Acclimation of toadfish to approximately 5% seawater (hyposmotic to plasma) did not alter the sensitivity of the perfused gills but reduced the apparent EC50 of rat AP on aortic rings to 3 x 10(-10) M. Extracts from O. beta atrium, ventricle, and brain also produced dilation of aortic rings, with ventricular extracts producing the greatest effect per milligram extracted tissue, suggesting that the ventricle may be a major site source of atriopeptin in fishes. An atriopeptin-induced increase in blood flow to the fish gill would theoretically have detrimental osmotic consequences, but may stimulate salt transport, again suggesting that a putative atriopeptin may be involved in salt, rather than osmotic, balance in fishes.

AbstractMore than 10 years prior to the anticipated 2013 publication of DSM-5, processes were set in motion to assess the research and clinical issues that would best inform future diagnostic classification of mental disorders. These efforts intended to identify the clinical and research needs within various populations, examine the current state of the science to determine the empirical evidence for improving criteria within and across disorders, and stimulate research in areas that could potentially provide evidence for change. In the second phase of the revision process, the American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education (APIRE) recently completed the 5-year international series of 13 diagnostic conferences convened by APA/APIRE in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), under a cooperative grant funded by the NIH. From these conferences, the DSM-5 Task Force and Work Groups have developed plans for potential revisions for DSM-5, including the incorporation of dimensional approaches within and across diagnostic groups to clarify heterogeneity, improve diagnostic validity, and enhance clinical case conceptualization. Use of dimensions for measurement-based care has been shown to be feasible in psychiatric and primary care settings and may inform monitoring of disorder threshold, severity, and treatment outcomes. The integration of dimensions with diagnostic categories represents an exciting and potentially transformative approach for DSM-5 to simultaneously address DSM-IV's clinical short-comings and create novel pathways for research in neurobiology, genetics, and psychiatric epidemiology.

A new fracture ceramic proppant was prepared using the low-cost raw bauxite mineral as raw material, by adding the auxiliary material such as potash feldspar, manganese powder and nanocalcium carbonate. The obtained proppants were characterized by XRD and SEM. The crushing rate, particle size, sphericity and roundness of the products were satisfied the recommendation in the standard of the American Petroleum Institute APIR-60.

The business landscape has undergone some significant changes over the last several years. Accompanying these changes has been an alignment of corporate R&D with business goals. This has resulted in significant downsizing of corporate research laboratories and the devolving responsibility for R&D matters to operating sites or business units. The downside of this is that the operations are now more than ever focussing on productivity, industrial relations and other essential short-term profitability-motivated issues. Consequently, the changing environment is creating cultures that value and reward short-term results. This short-termism has important implications to industry and the research community.One of the more successful and cost-effective mechanisms by which Australia can enhance its R&D base and consequent prosperity is through collaborative R&D. The Australian Minerals Industries Research Association (AMIRA), together with its oil and gas Division APIRA, has demonstrated over the years how effective this can be. AMIRA's raison d'etre is to assist the resource industries improve their technology position through collaborative R&D. It achieves this by working closely with researchers and industry to identify areas of common interest, develop research proposals, and seek financial support for these proposals from industry. Once a project commences, the Association administers the financial and reporting aspects, as well as monitoring progress, organising progress review meetings and assisting in technology transfer. AMIRA/APIRA has the track record, the systems and expertise to facilitate and manage collaborative R&D focussing on industry needs.The evolution of the Australian collaborative R&D environment in the oil and gas and minerals sectors has been significantly different. The oil and gas industry, particularly in exploration, does not have a history of strong collaborative R&D in Australia. The reasons for this are varied and can be found in the different corporate cultures between mineral and oil and gas companies.

Abstrak Kebertahanan lagu-lagu AT. Mahmud yang hingga saat ini masih dinyanyikan di sekolah maupun di luar sekolah memiliki daya tarik untuk dianalisis secara musikal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ciri-ciri musikal lagu anak karya AT Mahmud. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Analisis data menggunakan 5 lagu anak ciptaan AT. Mahmud yaitu lagu Cemara, Pemandangan, Ruri Abangku, Kereta Apiku, dan Burung Layang-layang dengan fokus ciri-ciri musikal lagu-lagu ciptaan AT Mahmud. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ciri-ciri musikal lagu-lagu AT. Mahmud adalah: 1) gerakan melodi lebih banyak menggunakan gerakan melangkah (interval M2 dan m2), 2) Teknik pengolahan motif menggunakan teknik sekuens dan harafiah, 3) Progresi akor menggunakan akor pokok I, IV dan V (mayor/minor), serta kadens, 4) tanda birama yang digunakan 2/4, 3/4, dan 4/4, dan 5) lagu-lagu AT. Mahmud masuk dalam kategori lagu bentuk 2 bagian.Kata Kunci: lagu anak, ciri-ciri musikal Abstract Defense of AT. Mahmud songs, who until now is still sung at school and outside of school, has the attraction to be analyzed musikally. The purpose of this study was to find out the musikal characteristics of AT Mahmud's children's songs. This research uses a descriptive method. Data analysis uses 5 children's songs created by AT. Mahmud is a song called Cemara, Pemandangan, Ruri Abangku, Kereta Apiku, and Burung Layang-layang with a focus on the musikal characteristics of the song created by AT Mahmud. The results of the analysis show that the musikal characteristics of AT songs. Mahmud is: 1) more melodic movements using step movements (M2 and m2 intervals), 2) Motif processing techniques using sequence and Harafiah techniques, 3) Chord progressions using the main chords I, IV and V (major / minor), and kadens , 4) the sign of the times used 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4, and 5) AT. Mahmud songs is included in the category of two-part songs.Keywords: children's songs, musikal characteristics

A educação escolar indígena em Roraima apresenta identidade própria, comprometida com os valores tradicionais dos povos indígenas, com a preservação de formas de aprendizagem e construção do conhecimento característico das etnias. Seus referenciais, diretrizes e currículos foram elaborados a partir das leis federais e estaduais, mas também com a colaboração dos povos indígenas através de suas associações, como a OPIR (Organização dos Professores Indígenas de Roraima), APIR (Associações dos povos Indígenas de Roraima) e CIR (Conselho Indígena de Roraima), dentre outras. O presente estudo, com base em dados estatísticos do Censo Escolar 2009, tem como objetivo analisar o curso de magistério indígena denominado Tamî’kan, quanto à utilização de metodologias de ensino com o uso e apropriação das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação para os professores cursistas. A proposta final do estudo é elaborar oficinas pedagógicas para o uso das TICs nas escolas indígenas, como uma complementação dos conhecimentos educacionais do Tamî’kan, contribuindo na qualidade do ensino aprendizagem nas comunidades indígenas de Roraima.

Abstract One of the factors limiting crop growth is weeds. The weeds lead to a reduced performance of the crops. Chemical control methods are considered appropriate for controlling weeds. Therefore, in the fight to control weeds in triticale, the performance of the dual-purpose herbicide sulfosulfuron(Apirus®), mesosulfuron + idosulfuron(Atlantis®), metsulfuron methyl+sulfosulfuron(Total®) with surfactant and isoproton + diflufenican(Panther®) from the sulfonylurea group, and narrow leaf herbicides clodinafobpropargyl( Topik®), pinoxaden(New Axial®), diclofop-methyl(Iloxan®), pinoxaden + clodinafob-propagyl (Traxos ®), fenoxaprop-pethyl + mefen-pyper-d-ethyl(PumaSuper®), tralkoksidim(Grasb®) with 1 liter oil, flam-prop-m-isopropyl(Suffix BW®), and control treatment without herbicides were evaluated. The test was carried out in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Spraying was carried out using a back sprayer. For evaluation of ocular damage, the European Weed Research Council (EWRC) standard method was used. According to the performed studies, the narrow leaves of wild oat and barnyard grass were the dominant weeds. Results showed that all herbicide, except the herbicide tralkoksidim, were effective in weed control. The triticale yield was maintained with the use of these herbicides and none of herbicide had an adverse effect on the crop. In the first weeks of herbicide use, the triticale leaves appeared pale but this problem resolved over time. It seems that the herbicides discussed in this paper can be used on the triticale plant.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to reflect on 30 years of Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal (AAAJ), and contemplates the future. It makes a case for diversity, including a broad range of theories and research methodologies, as a defining feature of AAAJ. As we have done since 1988 in AAAJ’s first editorial, we continue to urge interdisciplinary accounting researchers to undertake innovative research and be both original and creative, avoiding the narrow focus and detachment from society that is characteristic of globally pervasive North American economics-based accounting research. Design/methodology/approach The paper employs an analysis and critique of trends in interdisciplinary research, drawing upon the previous 29 editorials/commentaries published in AAAJ. It also elucidates the field of scholarship associated with AAAJ in 2016 as evidence of the patterning of recent research and publishing trends. Findings This paper identifies challenges confronting interdisciplinary researchers in the globalised academic community. These include our obsession with theoretical engorgement and our adversarial rather than cooperative approach to knowledge development. Furthermore, the authors argue that researchers must reflect on their motivation, informing theories and values if they intend to contribute to practice, policy and a wider societal good. Accounting researchers have a responsibility to go beyond observation, engaging in and constructing a more equal and fair society. SUMMARY Anisotropy of isothermal remanent magnetization (AIRM) is useful for describing the fabrics of high-coercivity grains, or alternatively, the fabrics of all remanence-carrying grains in rocks with weak remanence. Comparisons between AIRM and other measures of magnetic fabric allow for description of mineral-specific or grain-size-dependent fabrics, and their relation to one another. Additionally, when the natural remanence of a rock is carried by high-coercivity minerals, it is essential to isolate the anisotropy of this grain fraction to correct paleodirectional and paleointensity data. AIRMs have been measured using a wide range of applied fields, from a few mT to several T. It has been shown that the degree and shape of AIRM can vary with the strength of the applied field, for example, due to the contribution of separate grain subpopulations or due to field-dependent properties. To improve our understanding of these processes, we systematically investigate the variation of AIRM and the anisotropy of partial isothermal remanence (ApIRM) with applied field for a variety of rocks with different magnetic mineralogies. We also test the additivity of A(p)IRMs and provide a definition of their error limits. While A(p)IRM principal directions can be similar for a range of applied field strengths on the same specimen, the degree and shape of anisotropy often show systematic changes with the field over which the (p)IRM was applied. Also, the data uncertainty varies with field window; typically, larger windows lead to better-defined principal directions. Therefore, the choice of an appropriate field window is crucial for successful anisotropy corrections in paleomagnetic studies. Due to relatively large deviations between AIRMs calculated by tensor addition and directly measured AIRMs, we recommend that the desired A(p)IRM be measured directly for anisotropy corrections.

Recent research in the underlying structure of pathological Internet use (PIU) has produced considerable debate among academics, in which a new “person-centered” approach of studying PIU has recently gathered support but produced mixed results. This study used the latent profile analysis (LPA) to estimate the types of PIU in a large sample of college students (n = 1,400, aged 17–25 years). Participants provided information on demographics, PIU, and Internet behavior preferences. The adolescent pathological Internet use (APIU), which served as the basis of LPA, was used for searching subgroups that represent participants with PIU. LPA identified the PIU classes, and regressions identified the psychological predictors of class membership. Participants were classified into pathological users, pathological-tendency users, preferential users, and ordinary Internet users. In comparison with pathological Internet users, lower Internet gaming and communication preference were associated with pathological-tendency users, preferential users, and ordinary Internet users. The distinct types of college students belong to each PIU class, suggesting that individual differences may be incorporated into the prevention efforts.
