(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) In this study we tested the hypothesis that the decrease in habitat quality at wastewater treatment works (WWTW), such as limited prey diversity and exposure to the toxic cocktail of pollutants, affect fatty acid profiles of interscapular brown adipose tissue (iBrAT) in bats. Further, the antioxidant capacity of oxidative tissues such as pectoral and cardiac muscle may not be adequate to protect those tissues against reactive molecules resulting from polyunsaturated fatty acid auto-oxidation in the WWTW bats. Processed food in the form of sticks has now experienced many developments: utilising basic and additional materials. To create various flavours and increase the nutritional value of sticks, in the manufacturing process other raw materials and additional ingredients are used, such as ripe bananas and chocolate additives, so that stick products are delicious and contain high nutritional value. Almost everyone likes chocolate. Apart from being delicious, chocolate also has various benefits for the body, from improving mood and appetite to maintaining heart health. Résumé :
Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (DM) has been linked to depression and lipid metabolism impairment. Serotonin (5-HT) has been known to improve lipid metabolism and affect mood. The 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) in banana peel flour (BPF) is a precursor to synthesize 5-HT in the body, which is linked to initiating liver regeneration via HTR2B receptors. The impact of 5-HTP in the diet on HTR2B receptor expression has yet to be thoroughly investigated. We aimed to elucidate the correlation between serum lipid profile and immobility time in Tail Suspension Test (TST) as depressive-like behavior and

Résumé :
Introduction: Dual-species biofilm of Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus acidophilus in dental caries has a higher viability or ability to survive in comparison to mono-species biofilm, consequently it is more resistant to antibiofilm. Mauli banana stem gel (MBSG) contains isoleucine, cinnamic acid, and another bioactive constituents that may work as antibiofilm, hence it is able to decrease the viability of dual-species biofilm of S. mutans and L. acidophilus. This research aims to analyze the effect of MBSG on viability of dual-species biofilm of S. mutans and L. acidophilus. Material an

In this paper, using a sunny generalized non-expansive retraction which is different from the metric projection and generalized metric projection in Banach spaces, we present a retractive iterative algorithm of Krasnosel’skii-type, whose sequence approximates a common solution of a mono-variational inequality of a finite family of η-strongly-pseudo-monotone-type maps and fixed points of a countable family of generalized non-expansive-type maps. Furthermore, some new results relevant to the study are also presented. Finally, the theorem proved complements, improves and extends some important re

Résumé :
An analytical method for the derivatization of fatty acids to methyl esters using basic catalysis with special emphasis on the identification of the different C18:1 trans isomers was developed and validated, showing excellent accuracy, precision and linearity. This method was employed to evaluate the degradation of palm olein during the deep discontinuous frying process of potatoes and bananas over 60 hours at different temperatures, simulating most habitual food processing methods used in El Salvador. It was observed that untreated oils already showed low levels of trans fatty acids (around 0

The aim of this work was to study the potential of food waste materials (banana peel, potato peel, apple peel, lemon peel, coffee waste, decaf coffee waste, grape waste, and carob peel) as low-cost adsorbents for the removal of aliphatic and aromatic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from wastewater. The ability of examined food waste materials to adsorb VOCs from synthetic multi-component standard solutions was evaluated and the examined food waste materials showed high removal efficiency. Performances of coffee waste, grape waste, and lemon peel were detailed by using Trichloroethylene and p
