Hugo Grotius has always been viewed as a theorist of either international or natural law. The authors are making an analysis of the rules of the Serbian Civil Code regarding zadruga with intention of showing possible influence of the roman law on the way in which the traditional Serbian institution has been regulated in the Civil Code.
