Cellulose solution was used for coating and it was prepared by dissolving pulp cellulose in Urea-Thiourea-NaOH-Water solvent system. Reactive Red 240 dye was used for dyeing the coated as well as control cotton fabric. The effect of cellulose coating on the dyeing properties of cotton fabric was studied by measuring K/S values of the coated substrate at various concentrations of cellulose and dye. K/S value decreased after coating cellulose on the surface of cotton fabric. The lightness of cotton fabric increased after cellulose coating. SEM micrographs revealed that coated cellulose was attac

This study examines anodizing on aluminum 6061 using chemical dyes (printer ink and clothing dye) and a natural dye (turmeric) at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% w/v. The anodizing process was conducted at 12 volts, 2.5 amps, for 30 minutes. The research aims to evaluate the effects of dye type and concentration on color brightness, oxide layer thickness, and wear rate. Results indicate that dye concentration influences brightness, with the best outcome at 10% w/v printer ink (brightness level 5.4). Oxide layer thickness was unaffected by the type or concentration of dye used. Wear testing

Résumé :
In recent years bioactive textiles have risen to the forefront of consumers perception due to their potential protection against virus, fungi and bacteria. However, traditional textile staining is an eco-damaging process that and current methods of textile functionalization are expensive, complicated and with great environmental impact. With that in mind, this work sought to show a possible solution for this problematic through the usage of a novel one step textile dyeing and functionalization method based upon nanoencapsulated textile dyes (NTDs). To do so navy blue everzol NTDs were produced

Résumé :
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the precursors of ozone and fine particulate matter, are one of the atmospheric pollutants harmful to human health. The emission characteristics of VOCs in Anyang, a typical industrial city in the Central Plains of China, are unclear. To determine the emission level and composition of local VOCs, this study conducted on-site sampling of 20 factories in eight key industries. A total of 105 VOC species in seven categories were observed. The concentration of total VOCs emitted from the eight industries in order from large to small was as follows: packaging and p

Résumé :
Naturalized dyes (NDs) are innovative and eco-friendly synthetic compounds in which a chromophore is covalently linked to a natural sugar (e.g., lactose). The sugar moiety confers water-solubility and biocompatibility to the dye molecule as a whole. NDs have demonstrated potential application in dyeing textiles and leather. The purpose of this work was to demonstrate that selected NDs can be also applied to dye wood. To that aim, two NDs were tested to color beech and poplar wood. The NDs were applied as a simple aqueous solution or mixed with a waterborne, biogenic staining agent (commerciall

Objective: Our study aimed to determine the possibility of using models created with a low-cost, paper based 3D printer in an operating room. Therefore influence of different methods of sterilization on models was tested and cytotoxicity of generated models was determined. Material and methods: 30 cuboids divided into three groups were used for verification of shape stability after sterilization. Each group was sterilized either with: Ethylene oxide in temperature 55˚C, Hydrogen peroxide gas plasma in temperature 60˚C or Gamma irradiation at 21˚C, 25kGy. Wood dyeing is an effective way to alleviate the supply-demand imbalance of valuable wood and improve the surface decoration of fast-growing wood. However, applications of dyed wood are limited due to the susceptibility of dyes and wood to photo-discolor and degrade under light irradiation. Thus, the improved weather resistance of dyed wood is crucial. To prevent photochromic discoloration of dyed wood, an anti-photochromic coating structure was constructed via layer-by-layer self-assembly (LbL) using chitosan and zinc oxide (ZnO). The results showed that the surface color difference of treate

Abstract TiO2 nano pigments in pure crystallographic forms (anatase) were prepared via a hydrothermal approach. The produced pigments were investigated physiochemically by several techniques, then they were utilized in paper-coating mixtures and their effect on the properties of coated papers was investigated. XRD revealed that these pigments produced a pure anatase phase pigment. TEM showed that the crystallite size for anatase is 50 nm. Whether optical or physical properties for the treatment before and after application were tracked. Although TiO2 is applied as a white dye, it provided good
