Résumé :
This research identifies and investigates major issues in inducing accurate and comprehensible fuzzy rules from datasets. A review of the current literature on fuzzy rulebase induction uncovers two significant issues: A. There is a tradeoff between inducing accurate fuzzy rules and inducing comprehensible fuzzy rules; and, B. A common strategy for the induction of fuzzy rulebases, that of iterative rule learning where the rules are generated one by one and independently of each other, may not be an optimal one. Résumé :
The purpose of this thesis was to develop personalised cardiovascular therapy guided by multimodal noninvasive imaging and simulations, combined with artificial intelligence tools, for the management of the outflow tract ventricular arrhythmias. The main contributions of this thesis are twofold: -We propose a pipeline to build heart computational models for simulation of ventricular tachycardia that incorporates a new specific rule-base method for fiber generation, including the ventricular outflow tracts. The pipeline allows carrying out multiscale simulations, obtaining the patient ECG

Résumé :
All democratic organisations operate under a particular set of rules. Such procedures are implemented by the very individuals that create and maintain them, usually under a majority voting rule. This research project engages with the question of why and how members of parliament "abdicate" procedural power, focusing on the evolution of the rules of debate in the UK House of Commons. Working from newly collected data on the reform of Standing Orders of the House spanning 205 years (1811 - 2015), as well as records of over six million speeches, it provides a new perspective on procedural choice.

Résumé :
This doctoral thesis presents novel technological and systematic solutions to improve business process change practices and solve regulatory policy implementations in central banks that encounter inefficiencies and shortcomings due to multidimensional constraints and complex setups. Central banks deal with complicated relationships (other central banks, commercial banks, consumers, and exogenous bodies) that require a sophisticated tool that can provide constant measurements for each node. The nature of these multi-actor challenges in the global regulatory financial systems suggests an informa

Résumé :
This study investigates one of the Polish language’s most arbitrary cases: the genitive masculine inanimate singular. It collects and ranks several guidelines to help language learners discern its proper usage and also introduces a framework to provide detailed feedback regarding arbitrary cases. The study tests this framework by implementing and evaluating a hybrid grammar checker called PLPrepare. PLPrepare performs similarly to other grammar checkers and is able to detect genitive case usages and provide feedback based on a number of error classifications.

Résumé :
In this project, we have investigated how to perform rule-based machine translation of sets of keywords between two languages. The goal was to translate an input set, which contains one or more keywords in a source language, to a corresponding set of keywords, with the same number of elements, in the target language. However, some words in the source language may have several senses and may be translated to several, or no, words in the target language. If ambiguous translations occur, the best translation of the keyword should be chosen with respect to the context. In traditional machine trans
