In this paper, relationships between continuous functions defined on the spaces \((Y,\tau_{1},\tau_{2})\), \((Y,\tau_{1}\vee\tau_{2})\), \((Y,\tau_{1}\wedge\tau_{2})\) and \((Y,\tau_{i})\) for \(i=1,2\) are examined. Function spaces \(s-C_{\tau}(Y,Z)\), \(p-C_{\omega}(Y,Z)\), \(1-C_{\varsigma}(Y,Z)\), \(2-C_{\zeta}(Y,Z)\), \((1,2)-C_{\varphi}(Y,Z)\) and \((2,1)-C_{\xi}(Y,Z)\) are defined and continuous functions between them explored. A homeomorphism is also established between the spaces \(1-C_{\varsigma}(Y,Z)\) and \((2,1)-C_{\xi}(Y,Z)\).

AbstractThrough appropriate choices of elements in the underlying iterated function system, the methodology of fractal interpolation enables us to associate a family of continuous self-referential functions with a prescribed real-valued continuous function on a real compact interval. This procedure elicits what is referred to as anα-fractal operator on, the space of all real-valued continuous functions defined on a compact intervalI. In this paper, we introduce the notion of weaklyα-continuous functions in topological spaces. Weakα-continuity and subweak continuity due to Rose [1] are independent of each other and are implied by weak continuity due to Levine [2]. It is shown that weaklyα-continuous surjections preserve connected spaces and that weaklyα-continuous functions into regular spaces are continuous. Corollary1of [3] and Corollary2of [4] are improved as follows: Iff1:X→Yis a semi continuous function into a Hausdorff spaceY,f2:X→Yis either weaklyα-continuous or subweakly continuous, andf1=f2on a dense subset ofX, th

The compact–open topology for function spaces is usually attributed to R. H. Fox in 1945 [16]; and indeed, there is no earlier publication to attribute it to. But it is clear from Fox's paper that the idea of the compact–open topology, and its notable success in locally compact spaces, were already familiar. The topology of course goes back to Riemann; and to generalize to locally compact spaces needs only a definition or two. The actual contributions of Fox were (1) to formulate the partial result, and the problem of extending it, clearly and categorically; (2) to show that in separable metri

This thesis is a study of several spaces of continuous linear functionals on various function spaces with a natural norm inherited from a larger Banach space. The completeness of these normed linear spaces is studied in detail and several necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained in this regard. Since spaces of continuous linear functionals are inherently related to spaces of measures, their measure-theoretic counterparts are also studied. By using these counterparts, several necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained on the separability of these spaces of continuous linear functi

If T:C(H,X)-->Y is a bounded linear operator then there exists a unique weakly regular finitely additive set function m:-->L(X,Y**) so that T(f) = ∫Hfdm. In this paper, bounded linear operators on C(H,X) are studied in terms the measure given by this representation theorem. The first chapter provides a brief history of representation theorems of these classes of operators. In the second chapter the represenation theorem used in the remainder of the paper is presented.
