Résumé :
Cordyceps blackwelliae is an entomopathogenic fungus with significant potential for research and development due to its ease of cultivation. However, the lack of omics-based studies has limited our understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing its growth and fruiting body development. This study employed a multi-omics approach, integrating genomic, transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. Utilising both Illumina and Nanopore sequencing technologies, we assembled a 31.06 Mb nuclear genome comprising 11 scaffolds, with telomere presence at one or both ends in eight scaffolds and ann

Résumé :
While recent sequencing technologies (third generation sequencing) can successfully sequence all copies of nuclear ribosomal DNA (rDNA) markers present within a genome and offer insights into the intragenomic variation of these markers, high intragenomic variation can be a source of confusion for high-throughput species identification using such technologies. High-throughput (HT) amplicon sequencing via PacBio SEQUEL I was used to evaluate the intragenomic variation of the ITS region and D1–D2 LSU domains in nine Cordyceps species, and the accuracy of such technology to identify these species

Résumé :
Entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) consist of a wide range of fungi that can be used as pest control agents, endophytes, and plant growth promoters. In this study of EPF in suburban soils from Achaia, Greece, we used adult beetles as baits for trapping fungal isolates. According to the macroscopic and microscopic traits of the collected isolates, three species corresponded to Beauveria varroae Vuill. (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae); Purpureocillium lavendulum Perdomo, Gené, Cano & Guarro (Hypocreales: Ophiocordycipitaceae); and Cordyceps blackwelliae Mongkolsamrit, Noisripoom, Thanakitpipattana,

Résumé :
A new genus and eight new species, all with isaria-like phialides, are described in Cordycipitaceae from Thailand. The new genus, Samsoniella, is segregated from Akanthomyces based on morphological and molecular evidence. Samsoniella differs from Akanthomyces in producing orange cylindrical to clavate stromata with superficial perithecia and orange conidiophores with isaria-like phialides and white to cream conidia. A new combination for CBS 240.32, originally identified as Paecilomyces farinosus (Isaria farinosa), and CBS 262.58, originally identified as Penicillium alboaurantium, respectivel

Résumé :
AbstractCordyceps is a diverse genus of insect pathogenic fungi, with about 180 accepted species, including some well-known ones used as ethnic medicine and/or functional food. Nevertheless, mitogenomes are only available for four members of the genus. The current study reports the mitogenome of Cordyceps blackwelliae, a newly described entomopathogenic fungus. The 42,257-bp mitogenome of the fungus encoded genes typically found in fungal mitogenomes, and a total of 14 introns inserted into seven genes, including cob (1 intron), cox1 (4), cox3 (3), nad1 (1), nad4 (1), nad5 (1), and rnl (3). IntroductionCordyceps is a diverse genus of insect-pathogenic fungi, some of which have significant medicinal value.MethodsThe complete mitogenomes of six Cordyceps species (C. cicadae, C. cocoonihabita, C. militaris, C. neopruinosa, C. pruinosa, and C. tenuipes) were sequenced, assembled, and annotated in this study. Additionally, the previously published mitogenome of C. blackwelliae was also included for comparative analysis.ResultsThe mitogenomes of these seven Cordyceps species are circular DNA molecules ranging length from 29,929 to 51,692bp, containing 15 protein-coding genes (PCGs), tw
